We discuss the $F$-matrices associated to the $R$-matrix of a general $N$-state vertex model whose statistical configurations encode $N-1$ U(1) symmetries. The factorization condition is shown for arbitrary weights being based only on the unitarity property and the Yang-Baxter relation satisfied by the $R$-matrix. Focusing on the N=3 case we are able to conjecture the structure of some relevant twisted monodromy matrix elements for general weights. We apply this result providing the algebraic expressions of the domain wall partition functions built up in terms of the creation and annihilation monodromy fields. For N=3 we also exhibit a $R$-matrix whose weights lie on a del Pezzo surface and have a rather general structure.
In this paper we study factorization formulae for the Lax matrices of the classical Ruijsenaars-Schneider and Calogero-Moser models. We review the already known results and discuss their possible origins. The first origin comes from the IRF-Vertex relations and the properties of the intertwining matrices. The second origin is based on the Schlesinger transformations generated by modifications of underlying vector bundles. We show that both approaches provide explicit formulae for $M$-matrices of the integrable systems in terms of the intertwining matrices (and/or modification matrices). In the…
These lectures were given in Session 1: "Vertex algebras, W-algebras, and applications" of INdAM Intensive research period "Perspectives in Lie Theory" at the Centro di Ricerca Matematica Ennio De Giorgi, Pisa, Italy, December 9, 2014 -- February 28, 2015.
We investigate the Yang-Baxter algebra for $\mathrm{U}(1)$ invariant three-state vertex models whose Boltzmann weights configurations break explicitly the parity-time reversal symmetry. We uncover two families of regular Lax operators with nineteen non-null weights which ultimately sit on algebraic plane curves with genus five. We argue that these curves admit degree two morphisms onto elliptic curves and thus they are bielliptic. The associated $\mathrm{R}$-matrices are non-additive in the spectral parameters and it has been checked that they satisfy the Yang-Baxter equation. The respective i…
We have found a family of solvable nineteen vertex model with statistical configurations invariant by the time reversal symmetry within a systematic study of the respective Yang-Baxter relation. The Boltzmann weights sit on a degree seven algebraic threefold which is shown birationally equivalent to the three-dimensional projective space. This permits to write parameterized expressions for both the transition operator and the $\mathrm{R}$-matrix depending on three independent affine spectral parameters. The Hamiltonian limit tells us that the azimuthal magnetic field term is connected with the…
At roots of unity the $N$-state integrable chiral Potts model and the six-vertex model descend from each other with the $τ_2$ model as the intermediate. We shall discuss how different gauge choices in the six-vertex model lead to two different quantum group constructions with different $q$-Pochhammer symbols, one construction only working well for $N$ odd, the other equally well for all $N$. We also address the generalization based on the sl$(m,n)$ vertex model.
In this paper we investigate certain fusion relations associated to an integrable vertex model on the square lattice which is invariant under $Sp(4)$ symmetry. We establish a set of functional relations which include a transfer matrix inversion identity. The solution of these relations in the thermodynamic limit allows us to compute the partition function per site of the fundamental $Sp(4)$ representation of the vertex model. As a byproduct we also obtain the partition function per site of a vertex model mixing the four and five dimensional representations of the $Sp(4)$ symmetry.
In these notes we consider integrable structure of the conformal field theory with the algebra of symmetries $\mathcal{A}=W_{n}\otimes H$, where $W_{n}$ is $W-$algebra and $H$ is Heisenberg algebra. We found the system of commuting Integrals of Motion with relatively simple properties. In particular, this system has very simple spectrum and the matrix elements of special primary operators between its eigenstates have nice factorized form coinciding exactly with the contribution of the bifundamental multiplet to the Nekrasov partition function for U(n) gauge theories.
We systematise and develop a graphical approach to the investigations of quantum integrable vertex statistical models and the corresponding quantum spin chains. The graphical forms of the unitarity and various crossing relations are introduced. Their explicit analytical forms for the case of integrable systems associated with the quantum loop algebra ${\mathrm U}_q(\mathcal L(\mathfrak{sl}_{l + 1}))$ are given. The commutativity conditions for the transfer operators of lattices with a boundary are derived by the graphical method. Our consideration reveals useful advantages of the graphical app…
We propose a new approach to studying electrical networks interpreting the Ohm law as the operator which solves certain Local Yang-Baxter equation. Using this operator and the medial graph of the electrical network we define a vertex integrable statistical model and its boundary partition function. This gives an equivalent description of electrical networks We show that in the important case of an electrical network on the standard graph introduced by Curtis, Ingerman and Morrow, the response matrix of an electrical network, its most important feature, and the boundary partition function of ou…

In this work we propose a mechanism for converting the spectral problem of vertex models transfer matrices into the solution of certain linear partial differential equations. This mechanism is illustrated for the $U_q[\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}(2)]$ invariant six-vertex model and the resulting partial differential equation is studied for particular values of the lattice length.
This paper is concerned with the study of properties of the exact solution of the fundamental integrable $G_2$ vertex model. The model $R$-matrix and respective spin chain are presented in terms of the basis generators of the $G_2$ Lie algebra. This formulation permits us to related the number of the Bethe roots of the respective Bethe equations with the eigenvalues of the $U(1)$ conserved charges from the Cartan subalgebra of $G_2$. The Bethe equations are solved by a peculiar string structure which combines complex three-strings with real roots allowing us determine the bulk properties in th…
Yang-Baxter integrable vertex models with a generic $\mathbb{Z}_2$-staggering can be expressed in terms of composite $\mathbb{R}$-matrices given in terms of the elementary $R$-matrices. Similarly, integrable open boundary conditions can be constructed through generalized reflection algebras based on these objects and their representations in terms of composite boundary matrices $\mathbb{K}^\pm$. We show that only two types of staggering yield a local Hamiltonian with integrable open boundary conditions in this approach. The staggering in the underlying model allows for a second hierarchy of co…
Starting from an integrable rank-$n$ vertex model, we construct an explicit family of partition functions indexed by compositions $μ= (μ_1,\dots,μ_n)$. Using the Yang-Baxter algebra of the model and a certain rotation operation that acts on our partition functions, we show that they are eigenfunctions of the Cherednik-Dunkl operators $Y_i$ for all $1 \leq i \leq n$, and are thus equal to nonsymmetric Macdonald polynomials $E_μ$. Our partition functions have the combinatorial interpretation of ensembles of coloured lattice paths which traverse a cylinder. Applying a simple bijection to such pat…
The analysis of the transfer matrices associated to the most general representations of the 8-vertex reflection algebra on spin-1/2 chains is here implemented by introducing a quantum separation of variables (SOV) method which generalizes to these integrable quantum models the method first introduced by Sklyanin. More in detail, for the representations reproducing in their homogeneous limits the open XYZ spin-1/2 quantum chains with the most general integrable boundary conditions, we explicitly construct representations of the 8-vertex reflection algebras for which the transfer matrix spectral…
We introduce and study several combinatorial properties of a class of symmetric polynomials from the point of view of integrable vertex models in finite lattice. We introduce the $L$-operator related with the $U_q(sl_2)$ $R$-matrix, and construct the wavefunctions and their duals. We prove the exact correspondence between the wavefunctions and symmetric polynomials which is a quantum group deformation of the Grothendieck polynomials. This is proved by combining the matrix product method and an analysis on the domain wall boundary partition functions. As applications of the correspondence betwe…
This paper addresses the issue of integrable structures in topological string theory on generalized conifolds. Open string amplitudes of this theory can be expressed as the matrix elements of an operator on the Fock space of 2D charged free fermion fields. The generating function of these amplitudes with respect to the product of two independent Schur functions becomes a tau function of the 2D Toda hierarchy. The associated Lax operators turn out to have a particular factorized form. This factorized form of the Lax operators characterizes a generalization of the Ablowitz-Ladik hierarchy embedd…
In our recent paper we suggested a natural construction of the classical relativistic integrable tops in terms of the quantum $R$-matrices. Here we study the simplest case -- the 11-vertex $R$-matrix and related ${\rm gl}_2$ rational models. The corresponding top is equivalent to the 2-body Ruijsenaars-Schneider (RS) or the 2-body Calogero-Moser (CM) model depending on its description. We give different descriptions of the integrable tops and use them as building blocks for construction of more complicated integrable systems such as Gaudin models and classical spin chains (periodic and with bo…
Using the properties of the local Boltzmann weights of integrable interaction-round-a-face (IRF or face) models we express local operators in terms of generalized transfer matrices. This allows for the derivation of discrete functional equations for the reduced density matrices in inhomogeneous generalizations of these models. We apply these equations to study the density matrices for IRF models of various solid-on-solid type and quantum chains of non-Abelian $\bm{su(2)_3}$ or Fibonacci anyons. Similar as in the six vertex model we find that reduced density matrices for a sequence of consecuti…
We present a construction of an integrable model as a projective type limit of spin Calogero-Sutherland model with $N$ fermionic particles, where $N$ tends to infinity. It is implemented in the multicomponent fermionic Fock space. Explicit formulas for limits of Dunkl operators and the Yangian generators are presented by means of fermionic fields.
We consider a homogeneous stochastic higher spin six vertex model in a quadrant. For this model we derive concise integral representations for multi-point q-moments of the height function and for the q-correlation functions. At least in the case of the step initial condition, our formulas degenerate in appropriate limits to many known formulas of such type for integrable probabilistic systems in the (1+1)d KPZ universality class, including the stochastic six vertex model, ASEP, various q-TASEPs, and associated zero range processes. Our arguments are largely based on properties of a family of s…
The construction of the master T-operator recently suggested in Alexandrov et al. (arXiv:1112.3310) is applied to integrable vertex models and associated quantum spin chains with trigonometric R-matrices. The master T-operator is a generating function for commuting transfer matrices of integrable vertex models depending on infinitely many parameters. At the same time it turns out to be the tau-function of an integrable hierarchy of classical soliton equations in the sense that it satisfies the the same bilinear Hirota equations. The class of solutions of the Hirota equations that correspond to…
Using the intertwining matrix of the IRF-Vertex correspondence we propose a determinant representation for the generating function of the commuting Hamiltonians of the double elliptic integrable system. More precisely, it is a ratio of the normally ordered determinants, which turns into a single determinant in the classical case. With its help we reproduce the recently suggested expression for the eigenvalues of the Hamiltonians for the dual to elliptic Ruijsenaars model. Next, we study the classical counterpart of our construction, which gives expression for the spectral curve and the corresp…
The inhomogeneous six-vertex model is a 2$D$ multiparametric integrable statistical system. In the scaling limit it is expected to cover different classes of critical behaviour which, for the most part, have remained unexplored. For general values of the parameters and twisted boundary conditions the model possesses ${\rm U}(1)$ invariance. In this paper we discuss the restrictions imposed on the parameters for which additional global symmetries arise that are consistent with the integrable structure. These include the lattice counterparts of ${\cal C}$, ${\cal P}$ and ${\cal T}$ as well as tr…
We present an exact mapping between the staggered six-vertex model and an integrable model constructed from the twisted affine $D_2^2$ Lie algebra. Using the known relations between the staggered six-vertex model and the antiferromagnetic Potts model, this mapping allows us to study the latter model using tools from integrability. We show that there is a simple interpretation of one of the known K-matrices of the $D_2^2$ model in terms of Temperley-Lieb algebra generators, and use this to present an integrable Hamiltonian that turns out to be in the same universality class as the antiferromagn…
A regular approach to studying the Lax type integrability of the AKNS hierarchy of nonlinear Lax type integrable dynamical systems in the vertex operator representation is devised. The relationship with the Lie-algebraic integrability scheme is analyzed, the connection with the tau-function representation is briefly discussed.
We describe a Yang-Baxter integrable vertex model, which can be realized as a degeneration of a vertex model introduced by Aggarwal, Borodin, and Wheeler. From this vertex model, we construct a certain class of partition functions that we show are essentially equal to the super ribbon functions of Lam. Using the vertex model formalism, we give proofs of many properties of these polynomials, namely a Cauchy identity and generalizations of known identities for supersymmetric Schur polynomials.
We formulate and establish symmetries of certain integrable half space models, analogous to recent results on symmetries for models in a full space. Our starting point is the colored stochastic six vertex model in a half space, from which we obtain results on the asymmetric simple exclusion process, as well as for the beta polymer through a fusion procedure which may be of independent interest. As an application, we establish a distributional identity between the absorption time in a type $B$ analogue of the oriented swap process and last passage times in a half space, establishing the Baik--B…
In this paper we continue the study of $Q$-operators in the six-vertex model and its higher spin generalizations. In [1] we derived a new expression for the higher spin $R$-matrix associated with the affine quantum algebra $U_q(\widehat{sl(2)})$. Taking a special limit in this $R$-matrix we obtained new formulas for the $Q$-operators acting in the tensor product of representation spaces with arbitrary complex spin. Here we use a different strategy and construct $Q$-operators as integral operators with factorized kernels based on the original Baxter's method used in the solution of the eight-ve…
We describe a novel Yang-Baxter integrable vertex model. From this vertex model we construct a certain class of partition functions that we show are equal to the LLT polynomials of Lascoux, Leclerc, and Thibon. Using the vertex model formalism, we give alternate proofs of many properties of these polynomials, including symmetry and a Cauchy identity.
We classify all regular solutions of the Yang-Baxter equation of eight-vertex type. Regular solutions correspond to spin chains with nearest-neighbour interactions. We find a total of four independent solutions. Two are related to the usual six- and eight-vertex models that have R-matrices of difference form. We find two completely new solutions of the Yang-Baxter equation, which are manifestly of non-difference form. These new solutions contain the S-matrices of the AdS2 and AdS3 integrable models as a special case. Consequently, we can classify all possible integrable deformations of eight-v…
We consider a special class of quantum non-dynamical $R$-matrices in the fundamental representation of ${\rm GL}_N$ with spectral parameter given by trigonometric solutions of the associative Yang-Baxter equation. In the simplest case $N=2$ these are the well-known 6-vertex $R$-matrix and its 7-vertex deformation. The $R$-matrices are used for construction of the classical relativistic integrable tops of the Euler-Arnold type. Namely, we describe the Lax pairs with spectral parameter, the inertia tensors and the Poisson structures. The latter are given by the linear Poisson-Lie brackets for th…
We discuss the correspondence between models solved by Bethe ansatz and classical integrable systems of Calogero type. We illustrate the correspondence by the simplest example of the inhomogeneous asymmetric 6-vertex model parametrized by trigonometric (hyperbolic) functions.
We develop a rigorous theory of non-local Hamiltonian structures, built on the notion of a non-local Poisson vertex algebra. As an application, we find conditions that guarantee applicability of the Lenard-Magri scheme of integrability to a pair of compatible non-local Hamiltonian structures.
In [1], Nakatsu and Takasaki have shown that the melting crystal model behind the topological strings vertex provides a tau-function of the KP hierarchy after an appropriate time deformation. We revisit their derivation with a focus on the underlying quantum $W_{1+\infty}$ symmetry. Specifically, we point out the role played by automorphisms and the connection with the intertwiner - or vertex operator - of the algebra. This algebraic perspective allows us to extend part of their derivation to the refined melting crystal model, lifting the algebra to the quantum toroidal algebra of $\mathfrak{g…
In this paper we extensively study the notion of Hamiltonian structure for nonabelian differential-difference systems, exploring the link between the different algebraic (in terms of double Poisson algebras and vertex algebras) and geometric (in terms of nonabelian Poisson bivectors) definitions. We introduce multiplicative double Poisson vertex algebras (PVAs) as the suitable noncommutative counterpart to multiplicative PVAs, used to describe Hamiltonian differential-difference equations in the commutative setting, and prove that these algebras are in one-to-one correspondence with the Poisso…
We construct a family of integrable vertex model based on the typical four-dimensional representations of the quantum group deformation of the Lie superalgebra $sl(2|1)$. Upon alternation of such a representation with its dual this model gives rise to a mixed superspin Hamiltonian with local interactions depending on the representation parameter $\pm b$ and the deformation parameter $γ$. As a subsector this model contains integrable vertex models with ordinary symmetries for twisted boundary conditions. The thermodynamic limit and low energy properties of the mixed superspin chain are studied …
We describe classical top-like integrable systems arising from the quantum exchange relations and corresponding Sklyanin algebras. The Lax operator is expressed in terms of the quantum non-dynamical $R$-matrix even at the classical level, where the Planck constant plays the role of the relativistic deformation parameter in the sense of Ruijsenaars and Schneider (RS). The integrable systems (relativistic tops) are described as multidimensional Euler tops, and the inertia tensors are written in terms of the quantum and classical $R$-matrices. A particular case of ${\rm gl}_N$ system is gauge equ…
The direct sum of irreducible level one integrable representations of affine Kac-Moody Lie algebra of (affine) type $ADE$ carries a structure of $P/Q$-graded vertex operator algebra. There exists a filtration on this direct sum studied by Kato and Loktev such that the corresponding graded vector space is a direct sum of global Weyl modules. The associated graded space with respect to the dual filtration is isomorphic to the homogenous coordinate ring of semi-infinite flag variety. We describe the ring structure in terms of vertex operators and endow the homogenous coordinate ring with a struct…
We construct quantum Separation of Variables (SoV) bases for both the fundamental inhomogeneous $gl_{\mathcal{M}|\mathcal{N}}$ supersymmetric integrable models and for the inhomogeneous Hubbard model both defined with quasi-periodic twisted boundary conditions given by twist matrices having simple spectrum. The SoV bases are obtained by using the integrable structure of these quantum models,i.e. the associated commuting transfer matrices, following the general scheme introduced in [1]; namely, they are given by set of states generated by the multiple action of the transfer matrices on a generi…
We classify all fundamental integrable spin chains with two-dimensional local Hilbert space which have regular R-matrices of difference form. This means that the R-matrix underlying the integrable structures is of the form R(u,v)=R(u-v) and reduces to the permutation operator at some particular point. We find a total of 14 independent solutions, 8 of which correspond to well-known eight or lower vertex models. The remaining 6 models appear to be new and some have peculiar properties such as not being diagonalizable or being nilpotent. Furthermore, for even R-matrices, we find a bijection betwe…
We study the transfer matrix spectral problem for the cyclic representations of the trigonometric 6-vertex reflection algebra associated to the Bazhanov-Stroganov Lax operator. The results apply as well to the spectral analysis of the lattice sine-Gordon model with integrable open boundary conditions. This spectral analysis is developed by implementing the method of separation of variables (SoV). The transfer matrix spectrum (both eigenvalues and eigenstates) is completely characterized in terms of the set of solutions to a discrete system of polynomial equations in a given class of functions.…
