Let $k$ be an arbitrary field of characteristic $0$. It is shown that for any $n\geq 1$ the universal enveloping algebras of the Poisson symplectic algebra $P_n(k)$ and the Weyl algebra $A_n(k)$ are isomorphic and the canonical isomorphism between them easily leads to the Moyal product.
A basis of the universal enveloping algebra $P^e$ of a free Poisson algebra $P=k\{x_1,...,x_n\}$ is constructed and proved that the left dependency of a finite number of elements of $P^e$ over $P^e$ is algorithmically recognizable. We prove that if two elements of a free Poisson algebra do not generate a free two generated subalgebra then they commute. The Fox derivatives on free Poisson algebras are defined and it is proved that an analogue of the Jacobian Conjecture for two generated free Poisson algebras is equivalent to the two-dimensional classical Jacobian Conjecture. A new proof of the tameness of automorphisms of two generated free Poisson algebras is also given.
Let $r,s$ be two parameters chosen from $\C^{\ast}$ such that $r^{m}s^{n}=1$ implies $m=n=0$. We compute the derivations of the two-parameter quantized enveloping algebra $\U$ and calculate its first degree Hochschild cohomology group. We further determine the group of algebra automorphisms for the two-parameter Hopf algebra $\V$. As a result, we determine the group of Hopf algebra automorphisms for $\V$.
Lie conformal algebras are useful tools for studying vertex operator algebras and their representations. In this paper, we establish close relations between Poisson conformal algebras and representations of Lie conformal algebras. We also calculate explicitly Poisson conformal brackets on the associated graded conformal algebras of universal associative conformal envelopes of Virasoro conformal algebra and Neveu--Schwartz conformal superalgebra.
It is proved that the Poisson enveloping algebra of a double Poisson-Ore extension is an iterated double Ore extension. As an application, properties that are preserved under iterated double Ore extensions are invariants of the Poisson enveloping algebra of a double Poisson-Ore extension.
In this paper, we define and study the universal enveloping algebra of a Poisson superalgebra. In particular, a new PBW Theorem for Lie-Rinehart superalgebras is proved leading to a PBW Theorem for Poisson superalgebras, we show the universal enveloping algebra of a Poisson Hopf superalgebra (resp. Poisson-Ore extension) is a Hopf superalgebra (resp. iterated Ore extension), and we study the universal enveloping algebra for interesting classes of Poisson superalgebras such as Poisson symplectic superalgebras.
We introduce the quasi-Poisson enveloping algebra and Poisson enveloping algebra for a non-commutative Poisson algebra. We prove that for a non-commutative Poisson algebra, the category of quasi-Poisson modules is equivalent to the category of left modules over its quasi-Poisson enveloping algebra, and the category of Poisson modules is equivalent to the category of left modules over its Poisson enveloping algebra.
We prove that the universal enveloping algebra of a Poisson-Ore extension is a length two iterated Ore extension of the original universal enveloping algebra. As consequences, we observe certain ring-theoretic invariants of the universal enveloping algebras that are preserved under iterated Poisson-Ore extensions. We apply our results to iterated quadratic Poisson algebras arising from semiclassical limits of quantized coordinate rings and a family of graded Poisson algebras of Poisson structures of rank at most two.
In this paper, the so-called differential graded (DG for short) Poisson Hopf algebra is introduced, which can be considered as a natural extension of Poisson Hopf algebras in the differential graded setting. The structures on the universal enveloping algebras of differential graded Poisson Hopf algebras are discussed.
For a Poisson algebra $A$, by exploring its relation with Lie-Rinehart algebras, we prove a Poincaré-Birkoff-Witt theorem for its universal enveloping algebra $A^e$. Some general properties of the universal enveloping algebras of Poisson Hopf algebras are studied. Given a Poisson Hopf algebra $B$, we give the necessary and sufficient conditions for a Poisson polynomial algebra $B[x; α, δ]_p$ to be a Poisson Hopf algebra. We also prove a structure theorem for $B^e$ when $B$ is a pointed Poisson Hopf algebra. Namely, $B^e$ is isomorphic to $B#_σ\mathcal{H}(B)$, the crossed product of $B$ and $\m…
In this paper, we introduce the notions of differential graded (DG) Poisson algebra and DG Poisson module. Let $A$ be any DG Poisson algebra. We construct the universal enveloping algebra of $A$ explicitly, which is denoted by $A^{ue}$. We show that $A^{ue}$ has a natural DG algebra structure and it satisfies certain universal property. As a consequence of the universal property, it is proved that the category of DG Poisson modules over $A$ is isomorphic to the category of DG modules over $A^{ue}$. Furthermore, we prove that the notion of universal enveloping algebra $A^{ue}$ is well-behaved u…
For any differential graded (DG for short) Poisson algebra $A$ given by generators and relations, we give a "formula" for computing the universal enveloping algebra $A^e$ of $A$. Moreover, we prove that $A^e$ has a Poincaré-Birkhoff-Witt basis provided that $A$ is a graded commutative polynomial algebra. As an application of the PBW-basis, we show that a DG symplectic ideal of a DG Poisson algebra $A$ is the annihilator of a simple DG Poisson $A$-module, where $A$ is the DG Poisson homomorphic image of a DG Poisson algebra $R$ whose underlying algebra structure is a graded commutative polynomi…
For a generalized Weyl Poisson algebra $A$, explicit sets of generators and defining relations are presented for its Poisson enveloping algebra $\CU (A)$. Simplicity criteria are given for the algebra $\CU (A)$ and algebra of Poisson differential operators $P\CD (A)$ on $A$. The Gelfand-Kirillov dimensions of the algebras $\CU (A)$ and $P\CD (A)$ are calculated. It is proven that the algebra $\CU (A)$ is a domain provided that the coefficient ring $D$ of the generalized Weyl Poisson algebra $A$ is a domain of essentially finite type over a perfect field. For the algebra $A$, the set of its min…
Poisson algebras are, just like Lie algebras, particular cases of Lie-Rinehart algebras. The latter were introduced by Rinehart in his seminal 1963 paper, where he also introduces the notion of an enveloping algebra and proves --- under some mild conditions --- that the enveloping algebra of a Lie-Rinehart algebra satisfies a Poincaré-Birkhoff-Witt theorem (PBW theorem). In the case of a Poisson algebra $({\mathcal A},\cdot,\{\cdot,\cdot\})$ over a commutative ring $R$ (with unit), Rinehart's result boils down to the statement that if $\mathcal A$ is \emph{smooth} (as an algebra), then gr$(U({…
In this paper, we introduce the notion of differential graded Poisson algebra and study its universal enveloping algebra. From any differential graded Poisson algebra $A$, we construct two isomorphic differential graded algebras: $A^e$ and $A^E$. It is proved that the category of differential graded Poisson modules over $A$ is isomorphic to the category of differential graded modules over $A^e$, and $A^e$ is the unique universal enveloping algebra of $A$ up to isomorphisms. As applications of the universal property of $A^e$, we prove that $(A^e)^{op}\cong (A^{op})^e$ and $(A\otimes_{\Bbbk}B)^e…
This paper discusses the notion of a deformation quantization for an arbitrary polynomial Poisson algebra A. We examine the Hochschild cohomology group H^3(A) and find that if a deformation of A exists it can be given by bidifferential operators. We then compute an explicit third order deformation quantization of A and show that it comes from a quantized enveloping algebra. We show that the deformation extends to a fourth order deformation if and only if the quantized enveloping algebra gives a fourth order deformation; moreover we give an example where the deformation does not extend. A corre…
This is a short survey of works on identical relations in group rings, enveloping algebras, Poisson symmetric algebras and other related algebraic structures. First, the classical work of Passman specified group rings that satisfy nontrivial identical relations. This result was an origin and motivation of close research projects. Second, Latyshev and Bahturin determined Lie algebras such that their universal enveloping algebra satisfies a non-trivial identical relation. Next, Passman and Petrogradsky solved a similar problem in case of restricted enveloping algebras. Third, Farkas started to s…
For an arbitrary Poisson algebra $\CP$ over an arbitrary field, an (analogue of) the Poincaré-Birkhof-Witt Theorem is proven and several presentations/constructions for its Poisson enveloping algebra $\CU (\CP )$ are given. As a result, explicit sets of generators and defining relations are given for $\CU (\CP )$ and the algebra $P\CD (\CP)$ of Poisson differential operators on $\CP$. Simplicity criteria for the algebras $\CU (\CP )$ and $P\CD (\CP )$ are given. In the case when the algebra $\CP$ is of essentially finite type, a criterion for the algebra $\CU (\CP )$ to be a domain is presente…
We consider a skew-symmetric $n$-ary bracket on the polynomial algebra $K[x_1,\ldots,x_n,x_{n+1}]$ ($n\geq 2$) over a field $K$ of characteristic zero defined by $\{a_1,\ldots,a_n\}=J(a_1,\ldots,a_n,C)$, where $C$ is a fixed element of $K[x_1,\ldots,x_n,x_{n+1}]$ and $J$ is the Jacobian. If $n=2$ then this bracket is a Poisson bracket and if $n\geq 3$ then it is an $n$-Lie-Poisson bracket on $K[x_1,\ldots,x_n,x_{n+1}]$. We describe the center of the corresponding $n$-Lie-Poisson algebra and show that the quotient algebra $K[x_1,\ldots,x_n,x_{n+1}]/(C-λ)$, where $(C-λ)$ is the ideal generated b…
Let $P(\mathrm{sl}_2(K))$ be the Poisson enveloping algebra of the Lie algebra $\mathrm{sl}_2(K)$ over an algebraically closed field $K$ of characteristic zero. The quotient algebras $ $ $P(\mathrm{sl}_2(K))/(C_P-λ)$, where $C_P$ is the standard Casimir element of $\mathrm{sl}_2(K)$ in $P(\mathrm{sl}_2(K))$ and $0\neq λ\in K$, are proven to be simple in \cite{UZh}. Using a result by L. Makar-Limanov \cite{ML90}, we describe generators of the automorphism group of $P(\mathrm{sl}_2(K))/(C_P-λ)$ and represent this group as an amalgamated product of its subgroups. Moreover, using similar results b…
The Hopf dual $H^\circ$ of any Poisson Hopf algebra $H$ is proved to be a co-Poisson Hopf algebra provided $H$ is noetherian. Without noetherian assumption, it is not true in general. There is no nontrivial Poisson Hopf structure on the universal enveloping algebra of a non-abelian Lie algebra. The Poisson Hopf structures on $A=k[x_1, x_2, \cdots, x_d]$, viewed as the universal enveloping algebra of a finite-dimensional abelian Lie algebra, are exactly linear Poisson structures on $A$. The co-Poisson structures on polynomial Hopf algebra $A$ are characterized. Some correspondences between co-P…
A natural family of quantized matrix algebras is introduced. It includes the two best studied such. Located inside ${\s U}_q(A_{2n-1})$, it consists of quadratic algebras with the same Hilbert series as polynomials in $n^2$ variables. We discuss their general properties and investigate some members of the family in great detail with respect to associated varieties, degrees, centers, and symplectic leaves. Finally, the space of rank r matrices becomes a Poisson submanifold, and there is an associated tensor category of $\rank\leq r$ matrices.
For a Poisson algebra $A$, by studying its universal enveloping algebra $A^{pe}$, we prove a duality theorem between Poisson homology and cohomology of $A$.
In [5] Cauchon introduced the so-called deleting derivations algorithm. This algorithm was first used in noncommutative algebra to prove catenarity in generic quantum matrices, and then to show that torus-invariant primes in these algebras are generated by quantum minors. Since then this algorithm has been used in various contexts. In particular, the matrix version makes a bridge between torus-invariant primes in generic quantum matrices, torus-orbits of symplectic leaves in matrix Poisson varieties and totally nonnegative cells in totally nonnegative matrix varieties [12]. This led to recent …
We study general properties of Hodge-type decompositions of cyclic and Hochschild homology of universal enveloping algebras of (DG) Lie algebras. Our construction generalizes the operadic construction of cyclic homology of Lie algebras due to Getzler and Kapranov. We give a topological interpretation of such Lie Hodge decompositions in terms of $S^1$-equivariant homology of the free loop space of a simply connected topological space. We prove that the canonical derived Poisson structure on a universal enveloping algebra arising from a cyclic pairing on the Koszul dual coalgebra preserves the H…
Let (S,L) be a Lie-Rinehart algebra over a commutative ring R. This article proves that, if S is flat as an R-module and has Van den Bergh duality in dimension n, and if L is finitely generated and projective with constant rank d as an S-module, then the enveloping algebra of (S,L) has Van den Bergh duality in dimension n+d. When, moreover, S is Calabi-Yau and the d-th exterior power of L is free over S, the article proves that the enveloping algebra is skew-Calabi-Yau, and it describes a Nakayama automorphism of it. These considerations are specialised to Poisson enveloping algebras. They are…
Consider any representation $ϕ$ of a finite-dimensional Lie algebra $g$ by derivations of the completed symmetric algebra $\hat{S}(g^*)$ of its dual. Consider the tensor product of $\hat{S}(g^*)$ and the exterior algebra $Λ(g)$. We show that the representation $ϕ$ extends canonically to the representation $\tildeϕ$ of that tensor product algebra. We construct an exterior derivative on that algebra, giving rise to a twisted version of the exterior differential calculus with the enveloping algebra in the role of the coordinate algebra. In this twisted version, the commutators between the noncomm…
A skew Laurent polynomial ring R[x^{\pm 1};α] is reversible if it has a reversing automorphism, that is, an automorphism of period two that transposes x and x^{-1} and restricts to an automorphism of R. We study invariants for reversing automorphisms and apply our methods to determine the rings of invariants of reversing automorphisms of two simple skew Laurent polynomial rings, namely a localization of the enveloping algebra of the two-dimensional non-abelian solvable Lie algebra and the coordinate ring of the quantum torus. These two skew Laurent polynomial rings are deformations of Poisson …
We give functorial recipes to get, out of any Hopf algebra over a field, two pairs of Hopf algebras which have some geometrical content. When the ground field has characteristic zero, the first pair is made by a function algebra over a connected Poisson group and a universal enveloping algebra over a Lie bialgebra. In addition, the Poisson group as a variety is an affine space, and the Lie bialgebra as a Lie algebra is graded. Forgetting these last details, the second pair is of the same type. When the Hopf algebra H we start from is already of geometric type the result involves Poisson dualit…
We describe the centers of the universal enveloping algebras of nilpotent Lie algebras of dimension at most six over fields of prime characteristic. If the characteristic is not smaller than the nilpontency class, then the center is the integral closure of the algebra generated over the $p$-center by the same generators that also occur in characteristic zero. Except for three examples (two of which are standard filiform), this algebra is already integrally closed and hence it coincides with the center. In the case of these three exceptional algebras, the center has further generators. Then we …
Let $W_+$ be the positive Witt algebra, which has a $C$-basis $\{e_n: n \in Z_{\geq 1}\}$, with Lie bracket $[ e_i, e_j] = (j-i) e_{i+j}$. We study the two-sided ideal structure of the universal enveloping algebra $U(W_+)$ of $W_+$. We show that if $I$ is a (two-sided) ideal of $U(W_+)$ generated by quadratic expressions in the $e_i$, then $U(W_+)/I$ has finite Gelfand-Kirillov dimension, and that such ideals satisfy the ascending chain condition. We conjecture that analogous facts hold for arbitrary ideals of $U(W_+)$, and verify a version of these conjectures for radical Poisson ideals of th…
In this paper, we show that the twisted Poincaré duality between Poisson homology and cohomology can be derived from the Serre invertible bimodule. This gives another definition of a unimodular Poisson algebra in terms of its Poisson Picard group. We also achieve twisted Poincaré duality for Hochschild (co)homology of Poisson bimodules using rigid dualizing complex. For a smooth Poisson affine variety with the trivial canonical bundle, we prove that its enveloping algebra is a Calabi-Yau algebra if the Poisson structure is unimodular.
We prove a rigidity theorem for the Poisson automorphisms of the function fields of tori with quadratic Poisson structures over fields of characteristic 0. It gives an effective method for classifying the full Poisson automorphism groups of ${\mathbb{N}}$-graded connected cluster algebras equipped with Gekhtman-Shapiro-Vainshtein Poisson structures. Based on this, we classify the groups of algebraic Poisson automorphisms of the open Schubert cells of the full flag varieties of semisimple algebraic groups over fields of characteristic 0, equipped with the standard Poisson structures. Their coor…
Let $\mf g$ be the Witt algebra or the positive Witt algebra. It is well known that the enveloping algebra $U(\mf g )$ has intermediate growth and thus infinite Gelfand-Kirillov (GK-) dimension. We prove that the GK-dimension of $U(\mf g)$ is {\em just infinite} in the sense that any proper quotient of $U(\mf g)$ has polynomial growth. This proves a conjecture of Petukhov and the second named author for the positive Witt algebra. We also establish the corresponding results for quotients of the symmetric algebra $S(\mf g)$ by proper Poisson ideals. In fact, we prove more generally that any cent…
A relation between $\frac{1}{2}$-derivations of Lie algebras and transposed Poisson algebras was established. Some non-trivial transposed Poisson algebras with a certain Lie algebra (Witt algebra, algebra $\mathcal{W}(a,-1)$, thin Lie algebra and solvable Lie algebra with abelian nilpotent radical) were constructed. In particular, we constructed an example of the transposed Poisson algebra with associative and Lie parts isomorphic to the Laurent polynomials and the Witt algebra. On the other side, it was proven that there are no non-trivial transposed Poisson algebras with Lie algebra part iso…
Let P be a free Poisson algebra in two variables over a field of characteristic zero. We prove that the automorphisms of P are tame and that the locally nilpotent derivations of P are triangulable.
Let $k$ be an arbitrary field of characteristic 0. We prove that the group of automorphisms of a free Poisson field $P(x,y)$ in two variables $x,y$ over $k$ is isomorphic to the Cremona group $\mathrm{Cr}_2(k)$. We also prove that the universal enveloping algebra $P(x_1,...,x_n)^e$ of a free Poisson field $P(x_1,...,x_n)$ is a free ideal ring and give a characterization of the Poisson dependence of two elements of $P(x_1,...,x_n)$ via universal derivatives.
We study (two-sided) ideals $I$ in the enveloping algebra $\U(\frak g_\infty)$ of an infinite-dimensional Lie algebra $\frak g_\infty$ obtained as the union (equivalently, direct limit) of an arbitrary chain of embeddings of simple finite-dimensional Lie algebras $\frak g_1\to\frak g_2\to...\to\frak g_n\to...$ with $\lim\limits_{n\to\infty}\dim\frak g_n=\infty$. Our main result is an explicit description of the zero-sets of the corresponding graded ideals $\gr I$. We use this description and results of A. Zhilinskii to prove Baranov's conjecture that, if $\frak g_\infty$ is not diagonal in the…
In 1997, X. Xu \cite{Xiaoping Xu Poisson} invented a concept of Novikov-Poisson algebras (we call them Gelfand-Dorfman-Novikov-Poisson (GDN-Poisson) algebras). We construct a linear basis of a free GDN-Poisson algebra. We define a notion of a special GDN-Poisson admissible algebra, based on X. Xu's definition and an S.I. Gelfand's observation (see \cite{Gelfand}). It is a differential algebra with two commutative associative products and some extra identities. We prove that any GDN-Poisson algebra is embeddable into its universal enveloping special GDN-Poisson admissible algebra. Also we prove…
For a derivation d of a commutative Noetherian complex algebra A, a homeomorphism is established between the prime spectrum of the Ore extension A[z;d] and the Poisson prime spectrum of the polynomial algebra A[z] endowed with the Poisson bracket such that {A,A}=0 and {z,a}=d(a) for all a in A. Several illustrative examples are discussed including some where A is known to be d-simple.
Given a finite-dimensional Lie algebra, and a representation by derivations on the completed symmetric algebra of its dual, a number of interesting twisted constructions appear: certain twisted Weyl algebras, deformed Leibniz rules, quantized ``star'' product. We first illuminate a number of interrelations between these constructions and then proceed to study a special case in certain precise sense corresponding to the symmetric or Weyl ordering. This case has been known earlier to be related to computations with Hausdorff series, for example the expression for the star product is in such term…
The quadratic Poisson Gel'fand-Kirillov problem asks whether the field of fractions of a Poisson algebra is Poisson birationally equivalent to a Poisson affine space, i.e. to a polynomial algebra $\K[X_1,..., X_n]$ with Poisson bracket defined by $\{X_i,X_j\}=λ_{ij} X_iX_j$ for some skew-symmetric matrix $(λ_{ij}) \in M_n(\K)$. This problem was studied in \cite{GL} over a field of characteristic 0 by using a Poisson version of the deleting-derivations algorithm of Cauchon. In this paper, we study the quadratic Poisson Gel'fand-Kirillov problem over a field of arbitrary characteristic. In parti…
Similar to the modular vector fields in Poisson geometry, modular derivations are defined for smooth Poisson algebras with trivial canonical bundle. By twisting Poisson module with the modular derivation, the Poisson cochain complex with values in any Poisson module is proved to be isomorphic to the Poisson chain complex with values in the corresponding twisted Poisson module. Then a version of twisted Poincaré duality is proved between the Poisson homologies and cohomologies. Furthermore, a notion of pseudo-unimodular Poisson structure is defined. It is proved that the Poisson cohomology as a…
A version of Kirillov's orbit method states that the primitive spectrum of a generic quantisation $A$ of a Poisson algebra $Z$ should correspond bijectively to the symplectic leaves of $\operatorname{Spec}(Z)$. In this article we consider a Poisson order $A$ over a complex affine Poisson algebra $Z$. We stratify the primitive spectrum $\operatorname{Prim}(A)$ into symplectic cores, which should be thought of as families of non-commutative symplectic leaves. We then introduce a category $A$-$\mathcal{P}$-Mod of $A$-modules adapted to the Poisson structure on $Z$, and we show that when $\operato…
We introduce a new class of algebras called Poisson orders. This class includes the symplectic reflection algebras of Etingof and Ginzburg, many quantum groups at roots of unity, and enveloping algebras of restricted Lie algebras in positive characteristic. Quite generally, we study this class of algebras from the point of view of Poisson geometry, exhibiting connections between their representation theory and some well-known geometric constructions. As an application, we employ our results in the study of symplectic reflection algebras, completing work of Etingof and Ginzburg on when these al…
Transposed Poisson structures on the Schrödinger algebra in $(n+1)$-dimensional space-time of Schrödinger Lie groups are described. It was proven that the Schrödinger algebra $\mathcal{S}_{n}$ in case of $n\neq 2$ does not have non-trivial $\frac{1}{2}$-derivations and as it follows it does not admit non-trivial transposed Poisson structures. All $\frac{1}{2}$-derivations and transposed Poisson structures for the algebra $\mathcal{S}_{2}$ are obtained. Also, we proved that the Schrödinger algebra $\mathcal{S}_{2}$ admits a non-trivial ${\rm Hom}$-Lie structure.
The purpose of this paper is to study twistings of Poisson algebras or bialgebras, coPoisson algebras or bialgebras and star-products. We con- sider Hom-algebraic structures generalizing classical algebraic structures by twisting the identities by a linear self map. We summarize the results on Hom-Poisson algebras and introduce Hom-coPoisson algebras and bialge- bras. We show that there exists a duality between Hom-Poisson bialgebras and Hom-coPoisson bialgebras. A relationship between enveloping Hom- algebras endowed with Hom-coPoisson structures and corresponding Hom- Lie bialgebra structure…
