For a Poisson algebra $A$, by exploring its relation with Lie-Rinehart algebras, we prove a Poincaré-Birkoff-Witt theorem for its universal enveloping algebra $A^e$. Some general properties of the universal enveloping algebras of Poisson Hopf algebras are studied. Given a Poisson Hopf algebra $B$, we give the necessary and sufficient conditions for a Poisson polynomial algebra $B[x; α, δ]_p$ to be a Poisson Hopf algebra. We also prove a structure theorem for $B^e$ when $B$ is a pointed Poisson Hopf algebra. Namely, $B^e$ is isomorphic to $B#_σ\mathcal{H}(B)$, the crossed product of $B$ and $\mathcal{H}(B)$, where $\mathcal{H}(B)$ is the quotient Hopf algebra $B^e/B^eB^+$.
In this paper, the so-called differential graded (DG for short) Poisson Hopf algebra is introduced, which can be considered as a natural extension of Poisson Hopf algebras in the differential graded setting. The structures on the universal enveloping algebras of differential graded Poisson Hopf algebras are discussed.
Anti-cocommutative elements were introduced by Wang, Zhang, Zhuang (2013) in their paper Coassociative Lie Algebras. We use this notion to extend universal enveloping algebras of Lie algebras with regards to their Hopf structure, and see if these connected Hopf algebras are enveloping algebras. Furthermore, we apply these results to compare global dimension of connected Hopf algebras and the dimension of their corresponding Lie algebras of primitive elements. Title has been renamed to "GK-Dimension of some Connected Hopf Algebras".
Anti-cocommutativity was introduced by Wang, Zhuang, Zhang (2013) in their paper Coassociative Lie algebras. Since universal enveloping algebras of Lie algebras are connected Hopf algebras, we extend enveloping algebras using the notion of anti-cocommutative elements. This concept is the main focus of this thesis. We separate the results (Chapter 4) into four parts: 1) Lie algebras containing anti-cocommutative elements; 2) Extending enveloping algebras using anti-cocommutative elements; 3) A global dimension problem for connected Hopf algebras; 4) Properties of the antipode of some connected …
It is proved that the Poisson enveloping algebra of a double Poisson-Ore extension is an iterated double Ore extension. As an application, properties that are preserved under iterated double Ore extensions are invariants of the Poisson enveloping algebra of a double Poisson-Ore extension.
In this paper, we define and study the universal enveloping algebra of a Poisson superalgebra. In particular, a new PBW Theorem for Lie-Rinehart superalgebras is proved leading to a PBW Theorem for Poisson superalgebras, we show the universal enveloping algebra of a Poisson Hopf superalgebra (resp. Poisson-Ore extension) is a Hopf superalgebra (resp. iterated Ore extension), and we study the universal enveloping algebra for interesting classes of Poisson superalgebras such as Poisson symplectic superalgebras.
We prove that the universal enveloping algebra of a Poisson-Ore extension is a length two iterated Ore extension of the original universal enveloping algebra. As consequences, we observe certain ring-theoretic invariants of the universal enveloping algebras that are preserved under iterated Poisson-Ore extensions. We apply our results to iterated quadratic Poisson algebras arising from semiclassical limits of quantized coordinate rings and a family of graded Poisson algebras of Poisson structures of rank at most two.
In this paper, we introduce the notions of differential graded (DG) Poisson algebra and DG Poisson module. Let $A$ be any DG Poisson algebra. We construct the universal enveloping algebra of $A$ explicitly, which is denoted by $A^{ue}$. We show that $A^{ue}$ has a natural DG algebra structure and it satisfies certain universal property. As a consequence of the universal property, it is proved that the category of DG Poisson modules over $A$ is isomorphic to the category of DG modules over $A^{ue}$. Furthermore, we prove that the notion of universal enveloping algebra $A^{ue}$ is well-behaved u…
Motivated by partial group actions on unital algebras, in this article we extend many results obtained by Exel and Dokuchaev to the context of partial actions of Hopf algebras, according to Caenepeel and Jansen. First, we generalize the theorem about the existence of an enveloping action, also known as the globalization theorem. Second, we construct a Morita context between the partial smash product and the smash product related to the enveloping action. Third, we dualize the globalization theorem to partial coactions and finally, we define partial representations of Hopf algebras and show som…
For any differential graded (DG for short) Poisson algebra $A$ given by generators and relations, we give a "formula" for computing the universal enveloping algebra $A^e$ of $A$. Moreover, we prove that $A^e$ has a Poincaré-Birkhoff-Witt basis provided that $A$ is a graded commutative polynomial algebra. As an application of the PBW-basis, we show that a DG symplectic ideal of a DG Poisson algebra $A$ is the annihilator of a simple DG Poisson $A$-module, where $A$ is the DG Poisson homomorphic image of a DG Poisson algebra $R$ whose underlying algebra structure is a graded commutative polynomi…
For a generalized Weyl Poisson algebra $A$, explicit sets of generators and defining relations are presented for its Poisson enveloping algebra $\CU (A)$. Simplicity criteria are given for the algebra $\CU (A)$ and algebra of Poisson differential operators $P\CD (A)$ on $A$. The Gelfand-Kirillov dimensions of the algebras $\CU (A)$ and $P\CD (A)$ are calculated. It is proven that the algebra $\CU (A)$ is a domain provided that the coefficient ring $D$ of the generalized Weyl Poisson algebra $A$ is a domain of essentially finite type over a perfect field. For the algebra $A$, the set of its min…
Poisson algebras are, just like Lie algebras, particular cases of Lie-Rinehart algebras. The latter were introduced by Rinehart in his seminal 1963 paper, where he also introduces the notion of an enveloping algebra and proves --- under some mild conditions --- that the enveloping algebra of a Lie-Rinehart algebra satisfies a Poincaré-Birkhoff-Witt theorem (PBW theorem). In the case of a Poisson algebra $({\mathcal A},\cdot,\{\cdot,\cdot\})$ over a commutative ring $R$ (with unit), Rinehart's result boils down to the statement that if $\mathcal A$ is \emph{smooth} (as an algebra), then gr$(U({…
In this paper, we introduce the notion of differential graded Poisson algebra and study its universal enveloping algebra. From any differential graded Poisson algebra $A$, we construct two isomorphic differential graded algebras: $A^e$ and $A^E$. It is proved that the category of differential graded Poisson modules over $A$ is isomorphic to the category of differential graded modules over $A^e$, and $A^e$ is the unique universal enveloping algebra of $A$ up to isomorphisms. As applications of the universal property of $A^e$, we prove that $(A^e)^{op}\cong (A^{op})^e$ and $(A\otimes_{\Bbbk}B)^e…
In this paper we revisit and extend the constructions of Glauberman and Doro on groups with triality and Moufang loops to Hopf algebras. We prove that the universal enveloping algebra of any Lie algebra with triality is a Hopf algebra with triality. This allows us to give a new construction of the universal enveloping algebras of Malcev algebras. Our work relies on the approach of Grishkov and Zavarnitsine to groups with triality.
We introduce the quasi-Poisson enveloping algebra and Poisson enveloping algebra for a non-commutative Poisson algebra. We prove that for a non-commutative Poisson algebra, the category of quasi-Poisson modules is equivalent to the category of left modules over its quasi-Poisson enveloping algebra, and the category of Poisson modules is equivalent to the category of left modules over its Poisson enveloping algebra.
This is a short survey of works on identical relations in group rings, enveloping algebras, Poisson symmetric algebras and other related algebraic structures. First, the classical work of Passman specified group rings that satisfy nontrivial identical relations. This result was an origin and motivation of close research projects. Second, Latyshev and Bahturin determined Lie algebras such that their universal enveloping algebra satisfies a non-trivial identical relation. Next, Passman and Petrogradsky solved a similar problem in case of restricted enveloping algebras. Third, Farkas started to s…
The Hopf dual $H^\circ$ of any Poisson Hopf algebra $H$ is proved to be a co-Poisson Hopf algebra provided $H$ is noetherian. Without noetherian assumption, it is not true in general. There is no nontrivial Poisson Hopf structure on the universal enveloping algebra of a non-abelian Lie algebra. The Poisson Hopf structures on $A=k[x_1, x_2, \cdots, x_d]$, viewed as the universal enveloping algebra of a finite-dimensional abelian Lie algebra, are exactly linear Poisson structures on $A$. The co-Poisson structures on polynomial Hopf algebra $A$ are characterized. Some correspondences between co-P…
A coassociative Lie algebra is a Lie algebra equipped with a coassociative coalgebra structure satisfying a compatibility condition. The enveloping algebra of a coassociative Lie algebra can be viewed as a coalgebraic deformation of the usual universal enveloping algebra of a Lie algebra. This new enveloping algebra provides interesting examples of noncommutative and noncocommutative Hopf algebras and leads to a classification of connected Hopf algebras of Gelfand-Kirillov dimension four in [WZZ].
The Calabi-Yau property of cocommutative Hopf algebras is discussed by using the homological integral, a recently introduced tool for studying infinite dimensional AS-Gorenstein Hopf algebras. It is shown that the skew-group algebra of a universal enveloping algebra of a finite dimensional Lie algebra $\g$ with a finite subgroup $G$ of automorphisms of $\g$ is Calabi-Yau if and only if the universal enveloping algebra itself is Calabi-Yau and $G$ is a subgroup of the special linear group $SL(\g)$. The Noetherian cocommutative Calabi-Yau Hopf algebras of dimension not larger than 3 are describe…
Let $(H,α)$ be a monoidal Hom-Hopf algebra and $^{H}_{H}\mathcal{HYD}$ the Hom-Yetter-Drinfeld category over $(H,α)$. Then in this paper, we first introduce the definition of braided Hom-Lie algebras and show that each monoidal Hom-algebra in $^{H}_{H}\mathcal{HYD}$ gives rise to a braided Hom-Lie algebra. Second, we prove that if $(A,β)$ is a sum of two $H$-commutative monoidal Hom-subalgebras, then the commutator Hom-ideal $[A,A]$ of $A$ is nilpotent. Also, we study the central invariant of braided Hom-Lie algebras as a generalization of generalized Lie algebras. Finally, we obtain a constru…
Lie-Rinehart algebras, also known as Lie algebroids, give rise to Hopf algebroids by a universal enveloping algebra construction, much as the universal enveloping algebra of an ordinary Lie algebra gives a Hopf algebra, of infinite dimension. In finite characteristic, the universal enveloping algebra of a restricted Lie algebra admits a quotient Hopf algebra which is finite-dimensional if the Lie algebra is. Rumynin has shown that suitably defined restricted Lie algebroids allow to define restricted universal enveloping algebras that are finitely generated projective if the Lie algebroid is. T…
We studied both the double cross product and the bicrossproduct constructions for the Hom-Hopf algebras of general $(α,β)$-type. This allows us to consider the universal enveloping Hom-Hopf algebras of Hom-Lie algebras, which are of $(α,{\rm Id})$-type. We show that the universal enveloping Hom-Hopf algebras of a matched pair of Hom-Lie algebras form a matched pair of Hom-Hopf algebras. We observe also that, the semi-dualization of a double cross product Hom-Hopf algebra is a bicrossproduct Hom-Hopf algebra. In particular, we apply this result to the universal enveloping Hom-Hopf algebras of a…
For an arbitrary Poisson algebra $\CP$ over an arbitrary field, an (analogue of) the Poincaré-Birkhof-Witt Theorem is proven and several presentations/constructions for its Poisson enveloping algebra $\CU (\CP )$ are given. As a result, explicit sets of generators and defining relations are given for $\CU (\CP )$ and the algebra $P\CD (\CP)$ of Poisson differential operators on $\CP$. Simplicity criteria for the algebras $\CU (\CP )$ and $P\CD (\CP )$ are given. In the case when the algebra $\CP$ is of essentially finite type, a criterion for the algebra $\CU (\CP )$ to be a domain is presente…
We consider a skew-symmetric $n$-ary bracket on the polynomial algebra $K[x_1,\ldots,x_n,x_{n+1}]$ ($n\geq 2$) over a field $K$ of characteristic zero defined by $\{a_1,\ldots,a_n\}=J(a_1,\ldots,a_n,C)$, where $C$ is a fixed element of $K[x_1,\ldots,x_n,x_{n+1}]$ and $J$ is the Jacobian. If $n=2$ then this bracket is a Poisson bracket and if $n\geq 3$ then it is an $n$-Lie-Poisson bracket on $K[x_1,\ldots,x_n,x_{n+1}]$. We describe the center of the corresponding $n$-Lie-Poisson algebra and show that the quotient algebra $K[x_1,\ldots,x_n,x_{n+1}]/(C-λ)$, where $(C-λ)$ is the ideal generated b…
Let $r,s$ be two parameters chosen from $\C^{\ast}$ such that $r^{m}s^{n}=1$ implies $m=n=0$. We compute the derivations of the two-parameter quantized enveloping algebra $\U$ and calculate its first degree Hochschild cohomology group. We further determine the group of algebra automorphisms for the two-parameter Hopf algebra $\V$. As a result, we determine the group of Hopf algebra automorphisms for $\V$.
We derive necessary and sufficient conditions for an Ore extension of a Hopf algebra to have a Hopf algebra structure of a certain type. This construction generalizes the notion of Hopf-Ore extension, called a generalized Hopf-Ore extension. We describe the generalized Hopf-Ore extensions of the enveloping algebras of Lie algebras. For some Lie algebras g, the generalized Hopf-Ore extensions of U(g) are classified.
Lie conformal algebras are useful tools for studying vertex operator algebras and their representations. In this paper, we establish close relations between Poisson conformal algebras and representations of Lie conformal algebras. We also calculate explicitly Poisson conformal brackets on the associated graded conformal algebras of universal associative conformal envelopes of Virasoro conformal algebra and Neveu--Schwartz conformal superalgebra.
Based on invariant algebras, we introduce representations$^{6-th}$ of Lie algebras and representations$^{< 4-th>}$ of Leibniz algebras, give the extended P-B-W Theorems in the context of the new representations of Lie algebras and Leibniz algebras, and generalize the Hopf-algebra structure on the enveloping algebras of Lie Algebras.
The representations of the pointed Hopf algebras $U$ and $\su$ are described, where $U$ and $\su$ can be regarded as deformations of the usual quantized enveloping algebras $U_q(\mathfrak{sl}(3))$ and the small quantum groups respectively. It is illustrated that these representations have a close connection with those of the quantized enveloping algebras $U_q(\mathfrak{sl}(2))$ and those of the half quantum groups of $\mathfrak{sl}(3)$.
Let $k$ be an arbitrary field of characteristic $0$. It is shown that for any $n\geq 1$ the universal enveloping algebras of the Poisson symplectic algebra $P_n(k)$ and the Weyl algebra $A_n(k)$ are isomorphic and the canonical isomorphism between them easily leads to the Moyal product. A basis of the universal enveloping algebra $P^e$ of a free Poisson algebra $P=k\{x_1,...,x_n\}$ is constructed and proved that the left dependency of a finite number of elements of $P^e$ over $P^e$ is algorithmically recognizable. We prove that if two elements of a free Poisson algebra do not generate a free t…
We prove that the Poisson version of the Dixmier-Moeglin equivalence holds for cocommutative affine Poisson-Hopf algebras. This is a first step towards understanding the symplectic foliation and the representation theory of (cocommutative) affine Poisson-Hopf algebras. Our proof makes substantial use of the model theory of fields equipped with finitely many possibly noncommuting derivations. As an application, we show that the symmetric algebra of a finite dimensional Lie algebra, equipped with its natural Poisson structure, satisfies the Poisson Dixmier-Moeglin equivalence.
Let $\Bbbk$ be a base field of characteristic $p>0$ and let $U$ be the restricted enveloping algebra of a 2-dimensional nonabelian restricted Lie algebra. We classify all inner-faithful $U$-actions on noetherian Koszul Artin-Schelter regular algebras of global dimension up to three.
We investigate when a skew polynomial extension T = R[x; σ, δ] of a Hopf algebra R admits a Hopf algebra structure, substantially generalising a theorem of Panov. When this construction is applied iteratively in characteristic 0 one obtains a large family of connected noetherian Hopf algebras of finite Gelfand-Kirillov dimension, including for example all enveloping algebras of finite dimensional solvable Lie algebras and all coordinate rings of unipotent groups. The properties of these Hopf algebras are investigated.
For a Poisson algebra $A$, by studying its universal enveloping algebra $A^{pe}$, we prove a duality theorem between Poisson homology and cohomology of $A$.
Let H be a Hopf algebra which is a finite module over a central sub-Hopf algebra R. The ramification behaviour of the maximal ideals of Z(H) with respect to the subalgebra R is studied. In the case when H is U(g), the enveloping algebra of a semisimple Lie algebra g, a conjecture of Humphreys is confirmed. In the case when H is the quantised enveloping algebra of g at a root of unity we obtain quantum analogues of result of a Mirkovic and Rumynin, we fully describe the reduced factor algebras over the regular sheet and the blocks of H are determined.
We determine the group of algebra automorphisms for the two-parameter quantized enveloping algebra $\V$. As an application, we prove that the group of Hopf algebra automorphisms for $\V$ is isomorphic to a torus of rank two.
A Poisson algebra $\Bbb C[G]$ considered as a Poisson version of the twisted quantized coordinate ring $\Bbb C_{q,p}[G]$, constructed by Hodges, Levasseur and Toro in \cite{HoLeT}, is obtained and its Poisson structure is investigated. This establishes that all Poisson prime and primitive ideals of $\Bbb C[G]$ are characterized. Further it is shown that $\Bbb C[G]$ satisfies the Poisson Dixmier-Moeglin equivalence and that Zariski topology on the space of Poisson primitive ideals of $\Bbb C[G]$ agrees with the quotient topology induced by the natural surjection from the maximal ideal space of …
We consider the super Jordan plane, a braided Hopf algebra introduced--to the best of our knowledge--in works of N. Andruskiewitsch, I. Angiono, I. Heckenberger, and its restricted version in odd characteristic introduced by the same authors. We show that their Drinfeld doubles give rise naturally to Hopf superalgebras justifying a posteriori the adjective super given in their work. These Hopf superalgebras are extensions of super commutative ones by the enveloping, respectively restricted enveloping, algebra of $\mathfrak{osp}(1|2)$.
Let $P(\mathrm{sl}_2(K))$ be the Poisson enveloping algebra of the Lie algebra $\mathrm{sl}_2(K)$ over an algebraically closed field $K$ of characteristic zero. The quotient algebras $ $ $P(\mathrm{sl}_2(K))/(C_P-λ)$, where $C_P$ is the standard Casimir element of $\mathrm{sl}_2(K)$ in $P(\mathrm{sl}_2(K))$ and $0\neq λ\in K$, are proven to be simple in \cite{UZh}. Using a result by L. Makar-Limanov \cite{ML90}, we describe generators of the automorphism group of $P(\mathrm{sl}_2(K))/(C_P-λ)$ and represent this group as an amalgamated product of its subgroups. Moreover, using similar results b…
We derive necessary and sufficient conditions for an ambiskew polynomial ring to have a Hopf algebra structure of a certain type. This construction generalizes many known Hopf algebras, for example U(sl2), U_q(sl2) and the enveloping algebra of the 3-dimensional Heisenberg Lie algebra. In a torsion-free case we describe the finite-dimensional simple modules, in particular their dimensions and prove a Clebsch-Gordan decomposition theorem for the tensor product of two simple modules. We construct a Casimir type operator and prove that any finite-dimensional weight module is semisimple.
We generalize the notion of a Rota-Baxter operator on groups and the notion of a Rota-Baxter operator of weight 1 on Lie algebras and define and study the notion of a Rota-Baxter operator on a cocommutative Hopf algebra $H$. If $H=F[G]$ is the group algebra of a group $G$ or $H=U(\mathfrak{g})$ the universal enveloping algebra of a Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$, then we prove that Rota-Baxter operators on $H$ are in one to one correspondence with corresponding Rota-Baxter operators on groups or Lie algebras.
We classify all finite-dimensional connected Hopf algebras with large abelian primitive spaces. We show that they are Hopf algebra extensions of restricted enveloping algebras of certain restricted Lie algebras. For any abelian matched pair associated with these extensions, we construct a cohomology group, which classifies all the extensions up to equivalence. Moreover, we present a $1$-$1$ correspondence between the isomorphism classes and a group quotient of the cohomology group deleting some exceptional points, where the group respects the automorphisms of the abelian matched pair and the e…
Partial actions of Hopf algebras can be considered as a generalization of partial actions of groups on algebras. Among important properties of partial Hopf actions, it is possible to prove the existence of enveloping actions, i.e., every partial Hopf action on a algebra A is induced by a Hopf action on a algebra B that contains A as a right ideal. This globalization theorem allows to extend several results from the theory of partial group actions to the Hopf algebraic setting. In this article, we prove a dual version of the globalization theorem: that every partial coaction of a Hopf algebra a…
This paper discusses the notion of a deformation quantization for an arbitrary polynomial Poisson algebra A. We examine the Hochschild cohomology group H^3(A) and find that if a deformation of A exists it can be given by bidifferential operators. We then compute an explicit third order deformation quantization of A and show that it comes from a quantized enveloping algebra. We show that the deformation extends to a fourth order deformation if and only if the quantized enveloping algebra gives a fourth order deformation; moreover we give an example where the deformation does not extend. A corre…
In formulating a generalized framework to study certain noncommutative algebras naturally arising in representation theory, K. A. Brown asked if every finitely generated Hopf algebra satisfying a polynomial identity was finite over a normal commutative Hopf subalgebra. In this note we show that Radford's biproduct, applied to the enveloping algebra of the Lie superalgebra pl(1,1), provides a noetherian prime counterexample.
Let $k_q[x, x^{-1}, y]$ be the localization of the quantum plane $k_q[x, y]$ over a field $k$, where $0\neq q\in k$. Then $k_q[x, x^{-1}, y]$ is a graded Hopf algebra, which can be regarded as the non-negative part of the quantum enveloping algebra $U_q({\mathfrak sl}_2)$. Under the assumption that $q$ is not a root of unity, we investigate the coalgebra automorphism group of $k_q[x, x^{-1}, y]$. We describe the structures of the graded coalgebra automorphism group and the coalgebra automorphism group of $k_q[x, x^{-1}, y]$, respectively.
We classify combinatorial Dyson-Schwinger equations giving a Hopf subalgebra of the Hopf algebra of Feynman graphs of the considered Quantum Field Theory. We first treat single equations with an arbitrary number (eventually infinite) of insertion operators. we distinguish two cases; in the first one, the Hopf subalgebra generated by the solution is isomorphic to the Faà di Bruno Hopf algebra or to the Hopf algebra of symmetric functions; in the second case, we obtain the dual of the enveloping algebra of a particular associative algebra (seen as a Lie algebra). We also treat systems with an ar…
By using cocycle deformation, we construct a certain class of Hopf algebras, containing the quantized enveloping algebras and their analogues, from what we call pre-Nichols algebras. Our construction generalizes in some sense the known construction by (generalized) quantum doubles, but unlike in the known situation, it saves us from difficulties in checking complicated defining relations.
We find a natural compatible condition between the Rota-Baxter operator and Turaev's (Hopf) group-(co)algebras, which leads to the concept of Rota-Baxter Turaev's (Hopf) group-(co)algebra. Two characterizations of Rota-Baxter Turaev's group-algebras (abbr. T-algebras) are obtained: one by Atkinson factorization and the other by T-quasi-idempotent elements. The relations among some related Turaev's group algebraic structures (such as (tri)dendriform T-algebras, Zinbiel T-algebras, pre-Lie T-algebras, Lie T-algebras) are discussed, and some concrete examples from the algebras of dimensions 2,3 a…
A pseudo-Galois extension is shown to be a depth two extension. Studying its left bialgebroid, we construct an enveloping Hopf algebroid for the semi-direct product of groups, or more generally involutive Hopf algebras, and their module algebras. It is a type of cofibered sum of two inclusions of the Hopf algebra into the semi-direct product and its derived right crossed product. Van Oystaeyen and Panaite observe that this Hopf algebroid is non-trivially isomorphic to a Connes-Moscovici Hopf algebroid, which raises interesting comparative questions.
In partial action theory, a pertinent question is whenever given a partial (co)action of a Hopf algebra A on an algebra R, it is possible to construct an enveloping (co)action. The authors Alves and Batista, in [2],have shown that this is always possible if R has unit. We are interested in investigating the situation where both algebras A and R are nonunitary. A nonunitary natural extension for the concept of Hopf algebras was proposed by Van Daele, in [11], which is called multiplier Hopf algebra. Therefore, we will consider partial (co)actions of multipliers Hopf algebras on algebras not nec…
