In this note we construct bi-*-Galois objects linking the quantized universal enveloping algebras associated to the Lie groups SU(2), E(2) and SU(1,1), where E(2) denotes the Lie group of Euclidian transformations of the plane, and we show how one can create (formal) quantum homogeneous spaces for these quantum groups by integrating the associated Miyashita-Ulbrich action on certain subquotient *-algebras.
A coaction of a Hopf algebra on a unital algebra is called homogeneous if the algebra of coinvariants equals the ground field. A coaction of a Hopf algebra on a (not necessarily unital) algebra is called Galois, or principal, or free, if the canonical map, also known as the Galois map, is bijective. In this paper, we establish a duality between a particular class of homogeneous coactions, up to equivariant Morita equivalence, and Galois coactions, up to isomorphism.
We study Galois and bi-Galois objects over the quantum group of a nondegenerate bilinear form, including the quantum group Oq(SL2). We obtain the classification of these objects up to isomorphism and some partial results for their classification up to homotopy.
We survey some aspects of the theory of Hopf-Galois objects that may studied advantageously by using the language of cogroupoids. These are the notes for a series of lectures given at Cordoba University, may 2010. The lectures are part of the course ``Hopf-Galois theory'' by Sonia Natale.
For any Drinfeld-Jimbo quantum enveloping algebra Uq(g) and for any family $λ=(λ\_{ij})\_{1\leq i < j\leq t} \in k^{\star}$ of invertible elements of the base field, we explicitly construct a Galois object $A\_λ$ of Uq(g) by generators and relations and we prove that any Galois object of Uq(g) is homotopic to a unique object of type $A\_λ$.
We construct, for q a root of unity of odd order, an embedding of the projective special linear group PSL(n) into the group of bi-Galois objects over u_q(sl(n))*, the coordinate algebra of the Frobenius-Lusztig kernel of SL(n), which is shown to be an isomorphism at n=2.
We construct the join of noncommutative Galois objects (quantum torsors) over a Hopf algebra H. To ensure that the join algebra enjoys the natural (diagonal) coaction of H, we braid the tensor product of the Galois objects. Then we show that this coaction is principal. Our examples are built from the noncommutative torus with the natural free action of the classical torus, and arbitrary anti-Drinfeld doubles of finite-dimensional Hopf algebras. The former yields a noncommutative deformation of a non-trivial torus bundle, and the latter a finite quantum covering.
Let $(H,R)$ be a quasitriangular weak Hopf algebra over a field $k$. We show that there is a braided monoidal equivalence between the Yetter-Drinfeld module category $^H_H\mathscr{YD}$ over $H$ and the category of comodules over some braided Hopf algebra ${}_RH$ in the category $_H\mathscr{M}$. Based on this equivalence, we prove that every braided bi-Galois object $A$ over the braided Hopf algebra ${}_RH$ defines a braided autoequivalence of the category $^H_H\mathscr{YD}$ if and only if $A$ is quantum commutative. A natural isomorphism between the cyclic object computing the relative cyclic homology of a homogeneous quotient-coalgebra-Galois extension, and the cyclic object computing the cyclic homology of a Galois coalgebra with SAYD coefficients is presented. The isomorphism can be viewed as the cyclic-homological counterpart of the Takeuchi-Galois correspondence between the left coideal subalgebras and the quotient right module coalgebras of a Hopf algebra. We develop a quantum duality principle for subgroups of a Poisson group and its dual, in two formulations. Namely, in the first one we provide functorial recipes to produce quantum coisotropic subgroups in the dual Poisson group out of any quantum subgroup (in a tautological sense) of the initial Poisson group, while in the second one similar recipes are given only starting from coisotropic subgroups. Let $p$ and $q$ be distinct prime numbers. We study the Galois objects and cocycle deformations of the noncommutative, noncocommutative, semisimple Hopf algebras of odd dimension $p^3$ and of dimension $pq^2$. We obtain that the $p+1$ non-isomorphic self-dual semisimple Hopf algebras of dimension $p^3$ classified by Masuoka have no non-trivial cocycle deformations, extending his previous results for the 8-dimensional Kac-Paljutkin Hopf algebra. We describe the Galois objects and biGalois groups of monomial nonsemisimple Hopf algebras. The main feature of our description is the use of modified versions of the second cohomology group of the grouplike elements. These computations generalize the previous ones of Masuoka and Schauenburg for the Taft algebras.
We supplement the study of Galois theory for algebraic quantum groups started in the paper 'Galois Theory for Multiplier Hopf Algebras with Integrals' by A. Van Daele and Y.H. Zhang. We examine the structure of the Galois objects: algebras equipped with a Galois coaction such that only the scalars are coinvariants. We show how their structure is as rich as the one of the quantum groups themselves: there are two distinguished weak K.M.S. functionals, related by a modular element, and there is an analogue of the antipode squared. When k is an algebraically closed field of characteristic 0 and H is a non-semisimple monomial Hopf algebra, we show that all Galois objects over H are determined up to H-comodule algebra isomorphism by their polynomial H-identities, extending a previous result by Kassel.
To every Hopf heap or quantum cotorsor of Grunspan a Hopf algebra of translations is associated. This translation Hopf algebra acts on the Hopf heap making it a Hopf-Galois co-object. Conversely, any Hopf-Galois co-object has the natural structure of a Hopf heap with the translation Hopf algebra isomorphic to the acting Hopf algebra. It is then shown that this assignment establishes an equivalence between categories of Hopf heaps and Hopf-Galois co-objects.
This article is made up with two parts. In the first part, we generalize to the case when objects are faithfully flat over the ground ring, the full equivalence between the notions of Hopf-Galois extension and Hopf-Galois system. In the second part of the article, we show that the Kashiwara algebras introduced by Kashiwara in his study of crystal bases are Hopf-Galois objects.
We define polynomial H-identities for comodule algebras over a Hopf algebra H and establish general properties for the corresponding T-ideals. In the case H is a Taft algebra or the Hopf algebra E(n), we exhibit a finite set of polynomial H-identities which distinguish the Galois objects over H up to isomorphism.

We show that there exists a Galois correspondence between subalgebras of an H-comodule algebra A over a base ring R and generalised quotients of a Hopf algebra H if both A and H are flat Mittag--Leffler modules. We also provide new criteria for subalgebras and generalised quotients to be closed elements of the Galois connection constructed. We generalise the Schauenburg theory of admissible objects to this more general context. Then we consider coextensions of H-module coalgebras. We study the Ehresmann--Schauenburg bialgebroid of a noncommutative principal bundle as a quantization of the classical gauge groupoid of a principal bundle. When the base algebra is in the centre of the total space algebra, the gauge group of the noncommutative principal bundle is isomorphic to the group of bisections of the bialgebroid. In particular we consider Galois objects (non-trivial noncommutative bundles over a point in a sense) for which the bialgebroid is a Hopf algebra. In this article, we investigate the notion of a Galois object for a locally compact quantum group M. Such an object consists of a von Neumann algebra N equipped with an ergodic integrable coaction of M on N, such that the crossed product is a type I factor. We show how to construct from such a coaction a new locally compact quantum group P, which we call the reflection of M along N. By way of application, we prove the following statement: any twisting of a locally compact quantum group by a unitary 2-cocycle is again a locally compact quantum group.
In a recent article, the coordinate ring of the nodal cubic was given the structure of a quantum homogeneous space. Here the corresponding coalgebra Galois extension is expressed in terms of quantum groups at roots of unity, and is shown to be cleft. Furthermore, the minimal quotient extensions are determined.
We provide necessary and sufficient conditions to extend the Hopf-Galois algebra structure on an algebra R to a generalized ambiskew ring based on R, in a way such that the added variables for the extension are skew-primitive in an appropriate sense. We show that the associated Hopf algebra is again a a generalized ambiskew ring, based on a suitable Hopf algebra H(R). Several examples are examined, including the Hopf-Galois objects over Uq(sl2).
We construct an invertible normalised 2 cocycle on the Ehresmann Schauenburg bialgebroid of a cleft Hopf Galois extension under the condition that the corresponding Hopf algebra is cocommutative and the image of the unital cocycle corresponding to this cleft Hopf Galois extension belongs to the centre of the coinvariant subalgebra. We propose a simple but effective framework for producing examples of covariant faithfully flat (generalised) Hopf-Galois extensions from a nested pair of quantum homogeneous spaces. Our construction is modelled on the classical situation of a homogeneous fibration $G/N \to G/M$, for $G$ a group, and $N \subseteq M \subseteq G$ subgroups. Variations on Takeuchi's equivalence and Schneider's descent theorem are presented in this context. In this paper we show that integral fusion categories with rational structure constants admit a natural group of symmetries given by the Galois group of their character tables. We also generalize a well known result of Burnside from representation theory of finite groups. More precisely, we show that any row corresponding to a non invertible object in the character table of a weakly integral fusion category contains a zero entry.

In this paper, we study modular categories whose Galois group actions on their simple objects are transitive. We show that such modular categories admit unique factorization into prime transitive factors. The representations of $SL_2(\mathbb{Z})$ associated with transitive modular categories are proven to be minimal and irreducible. Together with the Verlinde formula, we characterize prime transitive modular categories as the Galois conjugates of the adjoint subcategory of the quantum group modular category $\mathcal{C}(\mathfrak{sl}_2,p-2)$ for some prime $p > 3$. Let H be a Hopf algebra. By definition a modular crossed H-module is a vector space M on which H acts and coacts in a compatible way. To every modular crossed H-module M we associate a cyclic object Z(H,M). The cyclic homology of Z(H,M) extends the usual cyclic homology of the algebra structure of H, and the relative cyclic homology of an H-Galois extension. For a Hopf subalgebra K we compute, under some assumptions, the cyclic homology of an induced modular crossed module.
