We give an approach to open quantum systems based on formal deformation quantization. It is shown that classical open systems of a certain type can be systematically quantized into quantum open systems preserving the complete positivity of the open time evolution. The usual example of linearly coupled harmonic oscillators is discussed.
Deformation quantization conventionally is described in terms of multidifferential operators. Jet manifold technique is well-known provide the adequate formulation of theory of differential operators. We extended this formulation to the multidifferential ones, and consider their infinite order jet prolongation. The infinite order jet manifold is endowed with the canonical flat connection that provides the covariant formula of a deformation star-product.
A proposed definition is given for the quantization of a Poisson algebra, taking the quantum product to be a geodesic on the manifold of associative products.
It is known that Wolf constructed a lot of examples of Super Calabi-Yau twistor spaces. We would like to introduce super Poisson structures on them via super twistor double fibrations. Moreover we define the structure of deformation quantization for such super Poisson manifolds.
In this work, we present straightforward and concrete computations of the unitary irreducible representations of the Euclidean motion group $M(2)$ employing the methods of deformation quantization. Deformation quantization is a quantization method of classical mechanics and is an autonomous approach to quantum mechanics, arising from the Wigner quasiprobability distributions and Weyl correspondence. We advertise the utility and power of deformation theory in Lie group representations. In implementing this idea, many aspects of the method of orbits is also learned, thus further adding to the ma…
We extend Fedosov deformation quantization to general contact manifolds. Unlike the case of symplectic manifolds, not every classical observable on a contact manifold is generally quantized. On examination of possible obstructions to quantization, we obtain some new invariants of contact manifolds.
We study several classes of non-associative algebras as possible candidates for deformation quantization in the direction of a Poisson bracket that does not satisfy Jacobi identities. We show that in fact alternative deformation quantization algebras require the Jacobi identities on the Poisson bracket and, under very general assumptions, are associative. At the same time, flexible deformation quantization algebras exist for any Poisson bracket.
We use a deformed differential structure to obtain a curved metric by a deformation quantization of the flat space-time. In particular, by setting the deformation parameters to be equal to physical constants we obtain the Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) model for inflation and a deformed version of the FRW space-time. By calculating classical Einstein-equations for the extended space-time we obtain non-trivial solutions. Moreover, in this framework we obtain the Moyal-Weyl, i.e. a constant non-commutative space-time, by a consistency condition.

In this paper, we study quantization on a compact integral symplectic manifold $X$ with transversal real polarizations. In the case of complex polarizations, namely $X$ is Kähler equipped with transversal complex polarizations $T^{1, 0}X, T^{0, 1}X$, geometric quantization gives $H^0(X, L^{\otimes k})$'s. They are acted upon by $\mathcal{C}^\infty(X, \mathbb{C})$ via Toeplitz operators as $\hbar = \tfrac{1}{k} \to 0^+$, determining a deformation quantization $(\mathcal{C}^\infty(X, \mathbb{C})[[\hbar]], \star)$ of $X$.\par We investigate the real analogue to these, comparing deformation quanti…
We give a new construction of strict deformation quantization of symplectic manifolds equipped with a proper Lagrangian fiber bundle structure, whose representation spaces are the quantum Hilbert spaces obtained by geometric quantization. The construction can be regarded as a "lattice approximation of the correspondence between differential operators and principal symbols". We analyze the corresponding formal deformation quantization. We also investigate into relations between our construction and Berezin-Toeplitz deformation quantization.
Motivated by sine-square deformation (SSD) for quantum critical systems in 1+1-dimension, we discuss a Mobius quantization approach to the two-dimensional conformal field theory (CFT), which bridges the conventional radial quantization and the dipolar quantization recently proposed by Ishibashi and Tada. We then find that the continuous Virasoro algebra of the dipolar quantization can be interpreted as a continuum limit of the Virasoro algebra for scaled generators in the SSD limit of the Mobius quantization approach.
In this review an overview on some recent developments in deformation quantization is given. After a general historical overview we motivate the basic definitions of star products and their equivalences both from a mathematical and a physical point of view. Then we focus on two topics: the Morita classification of star product algebras and convergence issues which lead to the nuclear Weyl algebra.
In this paper, we first recall the notion of (noncommutative) Poisson conformal algebras and describe some constructions of them. Then we study the formal distribution (noncommutative) Poisson algebras and coefficient (noncommutative) Poisson algebras. Next, we introduce the notion of conformal formal deformations of commutative associative conformal algebras and show that Poisson conformal algebras are the corresponding semi-classical limits. At last, we develop the cohomology theory of noncommutative Poisson conformal algebras and use this cohomology to study their deformations.
This note describes the functional-integral quantization of two-dimensional topological field theories together with applications to problems in deformation quantization of Poisson manifolds and reduction of certain submanifolds. A brief introduction to smooth graded manifolds and to the Batalin-Vilkovisky formalism is included.
