We prove a version of Kontsevich's formality theorem for two subspaces (branes) of a vector space $X$. The result implies in particular that the Kontsevich deformation quantizations of $\mathrm{S}(X^*)$ and $\wedge(X)$ associated with a quadratic Poisson structure are Koszul dual. This answers an open question in Shoikhet's recent paper on Koszul duality in deformation quantization.

We study deformations of invertible bimodules and the behavior of Picard groups under deformation quantization. While K_0-groups are known to be stable under formal deformations of algebras, Picard groups may change drastically. We identify the semiclassical limit of bimodule deformations as contravariant connections and study the associated deformation quantization problem. Our main focus is on formal deformation quantization of Poisson manifolds by star products.

We propose generalized quantization axioms for Nambu-Poisson manifolds, which allow for a geometric interpretation of n-Lie algebras and their enveloping algebras. We illustrate these axioms by describing extensions of Berezin-Toeplitz quantization to produce various examples of quantum spaces of relevance to the dynamics of M-branes, such as fuzzy spheres in diverse dimensions. We briefly describe preliminary steps towards making the notion of quantized 2-plectic manifolds rigorous by extending the groupoid approach to quantization of symplectic manifolds.

This note is an overview of the Poisson sigma model (PSM) and its applications in deformation quantization. Reduction of coisotropic and pre-Poisson submanifolds, their appearance as branes of the PSM, quantization in terms of L-infinity and A-infinity algebras, and bimodule structures are recalled. As an application, an "almost" functorial quantization of Poisson maps is presented if no anomalies occur. This leads in principle to a novel approach for the quantization of Poisson-Lie groups.

When the brane is defined by second-class constraints, the perturbative quantization of the model yields the Kontsevich's star product associated to the Dirac bracket on the brane. We offer a new approach to large $N$ limits using the Batalin-Vilkovisky formalism, both commutative and noncommutative, and we exhibit how the Loday-Quillen-Tsygan Theorem admits BV quantizations in that setting. Matrix integrals offer a key example: we demonstrate how this formalism leads to a recurrence relation that in principle allows us to compute all multi-point correlation functions. We describe the possible noncommutative deformations of complex projective three-space by exhibiting the Calabi--Yau algebras that serve as their homogeneous coordinate rings. We prove that the space parametrizing such deformations has exactly six irreducible components, and we give explicit presentations for the generic members of each family in terms of generators and relations. Montonen-Olive duality implies that the categories of A-branes on the moduli spaces of Higgs bundles on a Riemann surface C for a pair of Langlands-dual groups are equivalent. We reformulate this as a statement about categories of B-branes on the quantized moduli spaces of flat connections for these groups. We show that it implies the statement of the Quantum Geometric Langlands duality with a purely imaginary ``quantum parameter'' which is proportional to the inverse of the Planck constant of the gauge theory.
