We show how to compute a certain group of equivalence classes of invariant Drinfeld twists on the algebra of a finite group G over a field k of characteristic zero. This group is naturally isomorphic to the second lazy cohomology group of the Hopf algebra of k-valued functions on G.
When k is algebraically closed, the answer involves the group of outer automorphisms of G induced by conjugation in the group algebra as well as the set of all pairs (A, b), where A is an abelian normal subgroup of G and b is a k^*-valued G-invariant non-degenerate alternating bilinear form on the Pontryagin dual of A.
We give a number of examples.
We introduce the notion of Drinfeld twists for both set-theoretical YBE solutions and skew braces. We give examples of such twists and show that all twists between skew braces come from families of isomorphisms between their additive groups. We then describe the relation between these definitions and co-twists on FRT-type Hopf algebras in the category $\mathrm{SupLat}$, and prove that any co-twist on a co-quasitriangular Hopf algebra in $\mathrm{SupLat}$ induces a Drinfeld twist on its remnant skew brace. We go on to classify co-twists on bicrossproduct Hopf algebras coming from groups with un…
We prove a vanishing theorem of the cohomology arising from the two Quantized Drinfeld-Sokolov reductions (``+'' and ``-'' reduction) introduced by Feigin-Frenkel and Frenkel-Kac-Wakimoto. As a consequence, the vanishing conjecture of Frenkel-Kac-Wakimoto is proved for the ``-'' reduction and partially for the ``+'' reduction.
We consider deformations of quantum exterior algebras extended by finite groups. Among these deformations are a class of algebras which we call truncated quantum Drinfeld Hecke algebras in view of their relation to classical Drinfeld Hecke algebras. We give the necessary and sufficient conditions for which these algebras occur, using Bergman's Diamond Lemma. We compute the relevant Hochschild cohomology to make explicit the connection between Hochschild cohomology and truncated quantum Drinfeld Hecke algebras. To demonstrate the variance of the allowed algebras, we compute both classical type …
Quantum Drinfeld Hecke algebras are generalizations of Drinfeld Hecke algebras in which polynomial rings are replaced by quantum polynomial rings. We identify these algebras as deformations of skew group algebras, giving an explicit connection to Hochschild cohomology. We compute the relevant part of Hochschild cohomology for actions of many reflection groups and we exploit computations from our paper with Shroff for diagonal actions. By combining our work with recent results of Levandovskyy and Shepler, we produce examples of quantum Drinfeld Hecke algebras. These algebras generalize the brai…
We prove that a finite-dimensional Hopf algebra with the dual Chevalley Property over a field of characteristic zero is quasi-isomorphic to a Radford-Majid bosonization whenever the third Hochschild cohomology group in the category of Yetter-Drinfeld modules of its diagram with coefficients in the base field vanishes. Moreover we show that this vanishing occurs in meaningful examples where the diagram is a Nichols algebra.
In this paper we continue to study Belavin-Drinfeld cohomology introduced in arXiv:1303.4046 [math.QA] and related to the classification of quantum groups whose quasi-classical limit is a given simple complex Lie algebra. Here we compute Belavin-Drinfeld cohomology for all non-skewsymmetric $r$-matrices from the Belavin-Drinfeld list for simple Lie algebras of type $B$, $C$, and $D$.
We relate the Belavin--Drinfeld cohomologies (twisted and untwisted) that have been introduced in the literature to study certain families of quantum groups and Lie bialgebras over a non algebraically closed field $\mathbb K$ of characteristic 0 to the standard non-abelian Galois cohomology $H^1(\mathbb K, \mathbf H)$ for a suitable algebraic $\mathbb K$-group $\mathbf H.$ The approach presented allows us to establish in full generality certain conjectures that were known to hold for the classical types of the split simple Lie algebras.
Covariance ties the noncommutative deformation of a space into a quantum space closely to the deformation of the symmetry into a quantum symmetry. Quantum deformations of enveloping algebras are governed by Drinfeld twists, inner automorphisms which relate the deformed to the undeformed coproduct. While Drinfeld twists naturally define a covariant star product on the space algebra, this product is in general not associative and does not yield a quantum space. It is reported that, nevertheless, there are certain Drinfeld twists which realize the quantum plane, quantum Euclidean 4-space, and qua…
We derive from the super RS algebra the Drinfeld basis of the twisted quantum affine superalgebra $U_q[osp(2|2)^{(2)}]$ by means of the Gauss decomposition technique. We explicitly construct a nonclassical level-one representation of $U_q[osp(2|2)^{(2)}]$ in terms of two $q$-deformed free boson fields.
The twisted Drinfeld double (or quasi-quantum double) of a finite group with a 3-cocycle is identified with a certain twisted groupoid algebra. The groupoid is the loop (or inertia) groupoid of the original group and the twisting is shown geometrically to be the loop transgression of the 3-cocycle. The twisted representation theory of finite groupoids is developed and used to derive properties of the Drinfeld double, such as representations being classified by their characters. This is all motivated by gerbes and 3-dimensional topological quantum field theory. In particular the representation …
We give a detailed description of the adjoint representation of Drinfeld's twist element, as well as of its coproduct, for $su_{q}(2)$. We also discuss, as applications, the computation of the universal R-matrix in this representation and the problem of symmetrization of identical-particle states with quantum $su(2)$ symmetry.
We prove that the Drinfeld double of an arbitrary finite group scheme has finitely generated cohomology. That is to say, for G any finite group scheme, and D(G) the Drinfeld double of the group ring kG, we show that the self-extension algebra of the trivial representation for D(G) is a finitely generated algebra, and that for each D(G)-representation V the extensions from the trivial representation to V form a finitely generated module over the aforementioned algebra. As a corollary, we find that all categories rep(G)*_M dual to rep(G) are of also of finite type (i.e. have finitely generated c…
We present a quantization of a Lie coideal structure for twisted half-loop algebras of finite-dimensional simple complex Lie algebras. We obtain algebra closure relations of twisted Yangians in Drinfeld J presentation for all symmetric pairs of simple Lie algebras and for simple twisted even half-loop Lie algebras. We provide the explicit form of the closure relations for twisted Yangians in Drinfeld J presentation for the ${\mathfrak{sl}}_3$ Lie algebra.
Drinfeld twist is applied to the Lie algebra gl(2) so that a two-parametric deformation of it is obtained, which is identical to the Jordanian deformation of the gl(2) obtained by Aneva et al. The same twist element is applied to deform the Lie superalgebra sl(1/2), since the gl(2) is embedded into the sl(1/2). By making use of the FRT-formalism, we construct a deformation of the Lie supergroup $ SL(1/2). $
We generalize quantum Drinfeld Hecke algebras by incorporating a 2-cocycle on the associated finite group. We identify these algebras as specializations of deformations of twisted skew group algebras, giving an explicit connection to Hochschild cohomology. We classify these algebras for diagonal actions, as well as for the symmetric groups with their natural representations. Our results show that the parameter spaces for the symmetric groups in the twisted setting is smaller than in the untwisted setting.
An isomorphism, up to a twist, between the quasitriangular quantum enveloping algebra U_h(sl(2)) and the (classical) U(sl(2))[[h]]is discussed. The universal twisting element $\cal F$ is given up to the second order in the deformation parameter $h$.
Covariance of a quantum space with respect to a quantum enveloping algebra ties the deformation of the multiplication of the space algebra to the deformation of the coproduct of the enveloping algebra. Since the deformation of the coproduct is governed by a Drinfeld twist, the same twist naturally defines a covariant star product on the commutative space. However, this product is in general not associative and does not yield the quantum space. It is shown that there are certain Drinfeld twists which realize the associative product of the quantum plane, quantum Euclidean 4-space, and quantum Mi…
The Drinfled realization of quantum affine algebras has been tremendously useful since its discovery. Combining techniques of Beck and Nakajima with our previous approach, we give a complete and conceptual proof of the Drinfeld realization for the twisted quantum affine algebras using Lusztig's twisted braid group action.
The present article is a continuation of QA/1303.4046, where we discussed the classification of quantum groups with quasi-classical limit $\mathfrak{g}$ and introduced a theory of Belavin-Drinfeld cohomology associated to any non-skewsymmetric $r$-matrix. Depending on the form of the corresponding double, there exists a one-to-one correspondence between gauge equivalence classes of Lie bialgebra structures on $\mathfrak{g}\otimes_{\mathbb{C}}\mathbb{K}$, where $\mathbb{K}=\mathbb{C}((\hbar))$, and untwisted or twisted cohomology classes. In the present paper we investigate twisted cohomologies…
We consider the finite generation property for cohomology of a finite tensor category C, which requires that the self-extension algebra of the unit Ext*_C(1,1) is a finitely generated algebra and that, for each object V in C, the graded extension group Ext*_C(1,V) is a finitely generated module over the aforementioned algebra. We prove that this cohomological finiteness property is preserved under duality (with respect to exact module categories) and taking the Drinfeld center, under suitable restrictions on C. For example, the stated result holds when C is a braided tensor category of odd Fro…
We show that some factors of the universal R-matrix generate a family of twistings for the standard Hopf structure of any quantized contragredient Lie (super)algebra of finite growth. As an application we prove that any two isomorphic superalgebras with different Cartan matrices have isomorphic q-deformations (as associative superalgebras) and their standard comultiplications are connected by such twisting. We present also an explicit relation between the generators of the second Drinfeld's realization and Cartan-Weyl generators of quantized affine nontwisted Kac-Moody algebras. Further develo…
We define the Drinfeld generators for $Y_3^+$, the twisted Yangian associated to the Lie algebra $\mathfrak{so}_3(\mathbb{C})$. This allows us to define shifted twisted Yangians, which are certain subalgebras of $Y_3^+$. We show that there are families of homomorphisms from the shifted twisted Yangians in $Y_3^+$ to the universal enveloping algebras of various orthogonal and symplectic Lie algebras, and we conjecture that the images of these homomorphisms are isomorphic to various finite $W$-algebras.
Consider a field k of characteristic p > 0, G_r the r-th Frobenius kernel of a smooth algebraic group G, DG_r the Drinfeld double of G_r, and M a finite dimensional DG_r-module. We prove that the cohomology algebra H*(DG_r,k) is finitely generated and that H*(DG_r,M) is a finitely generated module over this cohomology algebra. We exhibit a finite map of algebras θ_r:H*(G_r,k) \otimes S(g) \to H*(DG_r,k) which offers an approach to support varieties for DG_r-modules. For many examples of interest, θ_r is injective and induces an isomorphism of associated reduced schemes. Additionally, for M an …
Universal Drinfeld twists are inner automorphisms which relate the coproduct of a quantum enveloping algebra to the coproduct of the undeformed enveloping algebra. Even though they govern the deformation theory of classical symmetries and have appeared in numerous applications, no twist for a semi-simple quantum enveloping algebra has ever been computed. It is argued that universal twists can be reconstructed from their well known representations. A method to reconstruct an arbitrary element of the enveloping algebra from its irreducible representations is developed. For the twist this yields …
We give an explicit formula for the correspondence between simple Yetter-Drinfeld modules for certain finite-dimensional pointed Hopf algebras $H$ and those for cocycle twists $H^σ$ of $H$. This implies an equivalence between modules for their Drinfeld doubles. To illustrate our results, we consider the restricted two-parameter quantum groups ${\mathfrak{u}}_{r,s}({\mathfrak{sl}}_n)$ under conditions on the parameters guaranteeing that ${\mathfrak{u}}_{r,s}({\mathfrak{sl}}_n)$ is a Drinfeld double of its Borel subalgebra. We determine explicit correspondences between ${\mathfrak{u}}_{r,s}({\ma…
Bialgebroids (resp. Hopf algebroids) are bialgebras (Hopf algebras) over noncommutative rings. Drinfeld twist techniques are particularly useful in the (deformation) quantization of Lie algebras as well as underlying module algebras (=quantum spaces). Smash product construction combines these two into the new algebra which, in fact, does not depend on the twist. However, we can turn it into bialgebroid in the twist dependent way. Alternatively, one can use Drinfeld twist techniques in a category of bialgebroids. We show that both techniques indicated in the title: twisting of a bialgebroid or …
For a simple Lie algebra L of type A, D, E we show that any Belavin-Drinfeld triple on the Dynkin diagram of L produces a collection of Drinfeld twists for Lusztig's small quantum group u_q(L). These twists give rise to new finite-dimensional factorizable Hopf algebras, i.e. new small quantum groups. For any Hopf algebra constructed in this manner, we identify the group of grouplike elements, identify the Drinfeld element, and describe the irreducible representations of the dual in terms of the representation theory of the parabolic subalgebra(s) in L associated to the given Belavin-Drinfeld t…
The Drinfeld twist for the opposite quasi-Hopf algebra is determined and is shown to be related to the (second) Drinfeld twist. The twisted Drinfeld twist is investigated. In the quasi-triangular case it is shown that the Drinfeld u operator arises from the equivalence of the opposite quasi-Hopf algebra to the quasi-Hopf algebra induced by twisting with the R-matrix. The Altschuler-Coste u operator arises in a similar way and is shown to be closely related to the Drinfeld u operator. The quasi-cocycle condition is introduced, and is shown to play a central role in the uniqueness of twisted str…
The first example of a quantum group was introduced by P.~Kulish and N.~Reshetikhin. In their paper "Quantum linear problem for the sine-Gordon equation and higher representations" published in Zap. Nauchn. Sem. LOMI, 1981, Volume 101 (English version: Journal of Soviet Mathematics, 1983, 23:4), they found a new algebra which was later called $U_q (sl(2))$. Their example was developed independently by V.~Drinfeld and M.~Jimbo, which resulted in the general notion of quantum group. Recently, the so-called Belavin-Drinfeld cohomologies (twisted and untwisted) have been introduced in the literatu…
In the present article we discuss the classification of quantum groups whose quasi-classical limit is a given simple complex Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$. This problem reduces to the classification of all Lie bialgebra structures on $\mathfrak{g}(\mathbb{K})$, where $\mathbb{K}=\mathbb{C}((\hbar))$. The associated classical double is of the form $\mathfrak{g}(\mathbb{K})\otimes_{\mathbb{K}} A$, where $A$ is one of the following: $\mathbb{K}[ε]$, where $ε^{2}=0$, $\mathbb{K}\oplus \mathbb{K}$ or $\mathbb{K}[j]$ where $j^{2}=\hbar$. The first case relates to quasi-Frobenius Lie algebras. In the se…
A new quantization of groupoids under the name of \times-Hopf coalgebras is introduced. We develop a Hopf cyclic theory with coefficients in stable-anti-Yetter-Drinfeld modules for \times-Hopf coalgebras. We use \times-Hopf coalgebras to study coextensions of coalgebras. Finally, equivariant \times-Hopf coalgebra Galois coextensions are defined and applied as functors between categories of stable anti-Yetter-Drinfeld modules over \times-Hopf coalgebras involved in the coextension.
We consider involutive, non-degenerate, finite set theoretic solutions of the Yang-Baxter equation. Such solutions can be always obtained using certain algebraic structures that generalize nil potent rings called braces. Our main aim here is to express such solutions in terms of admissible Drinfeld twists substantially extending recent preliminary results. We first identify the generic form of the twists associated to set theoretic solutions and we show that these twists are admissible, i.e. they satisfy a certain co-cycle condition. These findings are also valid for Baxterized solutions of th…
We construct explicit Drinfel'd twists for the generalized Cartan type $H$ Lie algebras in characteristic $0$ and obtain the corresponding quantizations and their integral forms. Via making modular reductions including modulo $p$ reduction and modulo $p$-restrictedness reduction, and base changes, we derive certain modular quantizations of the restricted universal enveloping algebra $\mathbf u(\mathbf{H}(2n;\underline{1}))$ in characteristic $p$. They are new non-pointed Hopf algebras of truncated $p$-polynomial noncommutative and noncocommutative deformation of prime-power dimension $p^{p^{2n…
This paper is a continuation of math.QA/9907181 and math.QA/9908115. We consider traces of intertwiners between certain representations of the quantized enveloping algebra associated to a semisimple complex Lie algebra g, which are twisted by a ``generalized Belavin-Drinfeld triple'', i.e a triple consisting of two subdiagrams of the Dynkin diagram of g together with an isomorphism between them. The generating functions F(lambda,mu) for such traces depend on two weights lambda and mu. We show that F(lambda,mu) satisfy two sets of difference equations in the variable lambda: the Macdonald-Ruijs…
In this paper we study the Poisson-Lie version of the Drinfeld-Sokolov reduction defined in q-alg/9704011, q-alg/9702016. Using the bialgebra structure related to the new Drinfeld realization of affine quantum groups we describe reduction in terms of constraints. This realization of reduction admits direct quantization. As a byproduct we obtain an explicit expression for the symplectic form associated to the twisted Heisenberg double and calculate the moment map for the twisted dressing action. For some class of infinite-dimensional Poisson Lie groups we also prove an analogue of the Ginzburg-…
In this paper the surjective homomorphism from the Drinfeld realization to the Drinfeld and Jimbo presentation of affine quantum algebras is proved to be injective. A consequence of the arguments used in the paper is the triangular decomposition of the Drinfeld realization of affine quantum algebras also in the twisted case. A presentation of the affine Kac-Moody algebras in terms of the "Drinfeld generators" is also provided.
We establish Drinfeld realization for the two-parameter twisted quantum affine algebras using a new method. The Hopf algebra structure for Drinfeld generators is given for both untwisted and twisted two-parameter quantum affine algebras, which include the quantum affine algebras as special cases.
We construct explicit Drinfel'd twists of Jordanian type for the generalized Cartan type K Lie algebras in characteristic 0 and obtain the corresponding quantizations, especially their integral forms. By making modular reductions including modulo p and modulo p-restrictedness reduction, and base changes, we derive certain modular quantizations of the restricted universal enveloping algebra $\mathbf u(\mathbf{K}(2n{+}1;\underline{1}))$ for the restricted simple Lie algebra of Cartan type K in characteristic p. They are new pointed Hopf algebras of noncommutative and noncocommutative and with di…
We provide a deformation, $\mathfrak{f}_β$, of Lusztig algebra $\mathbf{f}$. Various quantum algebras in literatures, including half parts of two-parameter quantum algebras, quantum superalgebras, and multi-parameter quantum algebras/superalgebras, are all specializations of $\mathfrak{f}_β$. Moreover, $\mathfrak{f}_β$ is isomorphic to Lusztig algebra $\mathbf{f}$ up to a twist. As a consequence, half parts of those quantum algebras are isomorphic to Lusztig algebra $\mathbf{f}$ over a big enough ground field up to certain twists. We further construct the entire algebra $\mathbf U_{β,ξ}$ by Dr…
We examine Hopf cyclic cohomology in the same context as the analysis of the geometry of loop spaces $LX$ in derived algebraic geometry and the resulting close relationship between $S^1$-equivariant quasi-coherent sheaves on $LX$ and $D_X$-modules. Furthermore, the Hopf setting serves as a toy case for the categorification of Chern character theory. More precisely, this examination naturally leads to a definition of mixed anti-Yetter-Drinfeld contramodules which reduces to that of the usual mixed complexes for the trivial Hopf algebra and generalizes the notion of stable anti-Yetter-Drinfeld c…
Given a Hopf algebra H, we study modules and bimodules over an algebra A that carry an H-action, as well as their morphisms and connections. Bimodules naturally arise when considering noncommutative analogues of tensor bundles. For quasitriangular Hopf algebras and bimodules with an extra quasi-commutativity property we induce connections on the tensor product over A of two bimodules from connections on the individual bimodules. This construction applies to arbitrary connections, i.e. not necessarily H-equivariant ones, and further extends to the tensor algebra generated by a bimodule and its …
In early eighties, Belavin and Drinfeld showed that nonskewsymmetric classical r-matrices for simple Lie algebras are classified by combinatorial objects which are now called Belavin-Drinfeld triples. Later the second author of the present paper generalized this result to the case of dynamical r-matrices, and showed that they correspond to generalized Belavin-Drinfeld triples. The dynamical r-matrix corresponding a triple is given by a certain explicit formula, which works for any symmetrizable Kac-Moody algebra. In special cases, this formula gives the Felder and the Belavin r-matrix. In 1994…
In this paper the structure of the Drinfeld realization $\Udr_q$ of affine quantum algebras (both untwisted and twisted) is described in details, and its defining relations are studied and simplified. As an application, a homomorphism $ψ$ from this realization to the Drinfeld and Jimbo presentation $\U_q^{DJ}$ is provided, and proved to be surjective.
An interesting open question is to determine the group of monoidal autoequivalences of the category of Yetter-Drinfeld modules over a finite group $G$, or equivalently the group of Bigalois objects over the dual of the Drinfeld double $DG$. In particular one would hope to decompose this group into terms related to monoidal autoequivalences for the group algebra, the dual group algebra and interaction terms. We report on our progress in this question: We first prove a decomposition of the group of Hopf algebra automorphisms of the Drinfeld double into three subgroups, which reduces in the case …
We define double (central and cocentral) extensions of Manin pairs introduced by Drinfeld, attached to curves and meromorphic differentials. We define ``infinite twistings'' of these pairs and quantize them in the $sl_{2}$ case, adapting Drinfeld's ``new realizations'' technique. We study finite dimensional representations of these algebras in level $0$, and some elliptic examples.
Let $\mathfrak{g}$ be the derived subalgebra of a Kac-Moody Lie algebra of finite type or affine type, $μ$ a diagram automorphism of $\mathfrak{g}$ and $L(\mathfrak{g},μ)$ the loop algebra of $\mathfrak{g}$ associated to $μ$. In this paper, by using the vertex algebra technique, we provide a general construction of current type presentations for the universal central extension $\widehat{\mathfrak{g}}[μ]$ of $L(\mathfrak{g},μ)$. The construction contains the classical limit of Drinfeld's new realization for (twisted and untwisted) quantum affine algebras ([Dr]) and the Moody-Rao-Yokonuma presen…
We provide an explicit quantization of dynamical r-matrices for semisimple Lie algebras, classified earlier by the third author, which includes the Belavin-Drinfeld r-matrices. We do so by constructing an appropriate (dynamical) twist in the tensor square of the Drinfeld-Jimbo quantum group U_q(g), which twists the R-matrix of U_q(g) into the desired quatization. The construction of this twist is based on the method stemming from the work of Jimbo-Konno-Odake-Shiraishi and Arnaudon-Buffenoir-Ragoucy-Roche, i.e. on defining the twist as a unique solution of a suitable difference equation. This …
In this paper we aim to understand the category of stable-Yetter-Drinfeld modules over enveloping algebra of Lie algebras. To do so, we need to define such modules over Lie algebras. These two categories are shown to be isomorphic. A mixed complex is defined for a given Lie algebra and a stable-Yetter-Drinfeld module over it. This complex is quasi-isomorphic to the Hopf cyclic complex of the enveloping algebra of the Lie algebra with coefficients in the corresponding module. It is shown that the (truncated) Weil algebra, the Weil algebra with generalized coefficients defined by Alekseev-Meinre…
We use stable anti Yetter-Drinfeld contramodules to improve the cup products in Hopf cyclic cohomology. The improvement fixes the lack of functoriality of the cup products previously defined and show that the cup products are sensitive to the coefficients.
