This paper concerns the reconstruction of the absorption and scattering parameters in a time-dependent linear transport equation from full knowledge of the albedo operator at the boundary of a bounded domain of interest. We present optimal stability results on the reconstruction of the absorption and scattering parameters for a given error in the measured albedo operator.
We consider an inverse transport problem in fluorescence ultrasound modulated optical tomography (fUMOT) with angularly averaged illuminations and measurements. We study the uniqueness and stability of the reconstruction of the absorption coefficient and the quantum efficiency of the fluorescent probes. Reconstruction algorithms are proposed and numerical validations are performed as well. This paper is an extension of arXiv:1804.01135, where a diffusion model for this problem was considered.
The solution of a multi-frequency 1d inverse medium problem consists of recovering the refractive index of a medium from measurements of the scattered waves for multiple frequencies. In this paper, rigorous stability estimates are derived when the frequency takes value in a bounded interval. It is showed that the ill-posedness of the inverse medium problem decreases as the width of the frequency interval becomes larger. More precisely, under certain regularity assumptions on the refractive index, the estimates indicate that the power in Hölder stability is an increasing function of the largest …
We study the inverse boundary value problems of determining a potential in the Helmholtz type equation for the perturbed biharmonic operator from the knowledge of the partial Cauchy data set. Our geometric setting is that of a domain whose inaccessible portion of the boundary is contained in a hyperplane, and we are given the Cauchy data set on the complement. The uniqueness and logarithmic stability for this problem were established in [37] and [7], respectively. We establish stability estimates in the high frequency regime, with an explicit dependence on the frequency parameter, under mild r…
In this work, we study the instability of an inverse problem of radiative transport equation with angularly averaged measurement near the diffusion limit, i.e. the normalized mean free path (the Knudsen number) $0 < \eps \ll 1$. It is well-known that there is a transition of stability from Hölder type to logarithmic type with $\eps\to 0$, the theory of this transition of stability is still an open problem. In this study, we show the transition of stability by establishing the balance of two different regimes depending on the relative sizes of $\eps$ and the perturbation in measurements. When $…
