In this paper we construct some "pathological" volume preserving partially hyperbolic diffeomorphisms on $\toro{3}$ such that their behaviour in small scales in the central direction (Lyapunov exponent) is opposite to the behavior of their linearization. These examples are isotopic to Anosov. We also get partially hyperbolic diffeomorphisms isotopic to Anosov (consequently with non-compact central leaves) with zero central Lyapunov exponent at almost every point.

We study the $C^1$-topological properties of the subset of non-uniform hyperbolic diffeomorphisms in a certain class of $C^2$ partially hyperbolic symplectic systems which have bounded $C^2$ distance to the identity. In this set, we prove the stability of non-uniform hyperbolicity as a function of the diffeomorphism and the measure, and the existence of an open and dense subset of continuity points for the center Lyapunov exponents. We show that the metric entropy of a $C^1$ diffeomorphism with a dominated splitting and the dominating bundle uniformly expanding is bounded from above by the integrated volume growth of the dominating (expanding) bundle plus the maximal Lyapunov exponent from the dominated bundle multiplied by its dimension. We also discuss different types of volume growth that can be associated with an expanding foliation and relationships between them, specially when there exists a closed form non-degenerate on the foliation. Some consequences for partially hyperbolic diffeomorphisms are presented.
We establish two results under which the topology of a hyperbolic set constrains ambient dynamics.
