We construct an action of the graded double affine Hecke algebra (DAHA) on the parabolic Hitchin complex, extending the affine Weyl group action constructed in \cite{GSI}. In particular, we get representations of the degenerate DAHA on the cohomology of parabolic Hitchin fibers. We also generalize our construction to {\em parahoric} versions of Hitchin stacks, including the construction of 'tHooft operators as a special case. We give an explicit description of the irreducible components of two-row Springer fibers in type A as closed subvarieties in certain Nakajima quiver varieties in terms of quiver representations. By taking invariants under a variety automorphism, we obtain an explicit algebraic description of the irreducible components of two-row Springer fibers of classical type. We give a self-contained account of a construction due to Rossmann which lifts Springer's action of a Weyl group on the cohomology of a Springer fiber to an action on its homotopy type. We use this construction to produce a generalization of an "induction theorem" of Alvis and Lusztig, which relates the Springer representations attached to a reductive group to those attached to a Levi subgroup. Our generalization applies to more general centralizers and to representations of Weyl groups on mod p cohomology.

We prove an explicit formula for the Poincaré polynomials of parabolic character varieties of Riemann surfaces with semisimple local monodromies, which was conjectured by Hausel, Letellier and Rodriguez-Villegas. Using an approach of Mozgovoy and Schiffmann the problem is reduced to counting pairs of a parabolic vector bundles and a nilpotent endomorphism of prescribed generic type. We consider the Springer fiber over a nilpotent endomorphism. Fix a Jordan basis and consider the standard torus relative to this. We deal with the problem to describe the flags fixed by the torus which belong to a given component of the Springer fiber. We solve the problem in the hook, two-row and two-column cases. We provide two main characterizations which are common to the three cases, and which involve dominance relations between Young diagrams and combinatorial algorithms. Then, for these three cases, we deduce topological properties of the components and their intersections.

Following Goresky, Kottwitz and MacPherson, we compute the homology of truncated affine Springer fibers in the unramified case but under a purity assumption. We prove this assumption in the equivalued case. The truncation parameter is viewed as a divisor on an l-adic toric variety. For each fiber, we introduce a graded quasi-coherent sheaf on the toric variety whose space of global sections is precisely the l-adic homology of the truncated affine Springer fiber. Let $W$ be the Weyl group of type $BC_n$. We first provide restriction formulas of the total Springer representations for the symplectic Lie algebra in characteristic 2 and the exotic case to the maximal parabolic subgroup of $W$ which is of type $BC_{n-1}$. Then we show that these two restriction formulas are equivalent, and discuss how the results can be used to examine the existence of affine pavings of Springer fibers corresponding to the symplectic Lie algebra in characteristic 2.
In this paper we construct and study an action of the affine braid group associated to a semi-simple algebraic group on derived categories of coherent sheaves on various varieties related to the Springer resolution of the nilpotent cone. In particular, we describe explicitly the action of the Artin braid group. This action is a "categorical version" of Kazhdan--Lusztig--Ginzburg's construction of the affine Hecke algebra, and is used in particular by the first author and Ivan Mirkovic in the course of the proof of Lusztig's conjectures on equivariant K-theory of Springer fibers.
