In this paper we deal with Radon transforms for generalized flag manifolds in the framework of quasi-equivariant D-modules. We shall follow the method employed by Baston-Eastwood and analyze the Radon transform using the Bernstein-Gelfand-Gelfand resolution and the Borel-Weil-Bott theorem. We shall determine the transform completely on the level of the Grothendieck groups. Moreover, we point out a vanishing criterion and give a sufficient condition in order that a D-module associated to an equivariant locally free O-module is transformed into an object of the same type. The case of maximal parabolic subgroups of classical simple groups is studied in detail.
Let $\Oq(G)$ be the algebra of quantized functions on an algebraic group $G$ and $\Oq(B)$ its quotient algebra corresponding to a Borel subgroup $B$ of $G$. We define the category of sheaves on the "quantum flag variety of $G$" to be the $\Oq(B)$-equivariant $\Oq(G)$-modules and proves that this is a proj-category. We construct a category of equivariant quantum $\mathcal{D}$-modules on this quantized flag variety and prove the Beilinson-Bernsteins localization theorem for this category in the case when $q$ is not a root of unity.
In this paper, we give an explicit formula of Chevalley type, in terms of the Bruhat graph, for the quantum multiplication with the class of the line bundle associated to the anti-dominant minuscule fundamental weight $- \varpi_{k}$ in the torus-equivariant quantum $K$-group of the partial flag manifold $G/P_{J}$ (where $J = I \setminus \{k\}$) corresponding to the maximal (standard) parabolic subgroup $P_{J}$ of minuscule type in type $A$, $D$, $E$, or $B$. This result is obtained by proving a similar formula in a torus-equivariant $K$-group of the semi-infinite partial flag manifold $\mathbf…
We prove a Pieri-Chevalley formula for anti-dominant weights and also a Monk formula in the torus-equivariant $K$-group of the formal power series model of semi-infinite flag manifolds, both of which are described explicitly in terms of semi-infinite Lakshmibai-Seshadri paths (or, equivalently, quantum Lakshmibai-Seshadri paths). In view of recent results of Kato, these formulas give an explicit description of the structure constants for the Pontryagin product in the torus-equivariant $K$-group of affine Grassmannians and that for the quantum multiplication of the torus-equivariant (small) qua…
The equivariant $K$-theory of the semi-infinite flag manifold, as developed recently by Kato, Naito, and Sagaki, carries commuting actions of the nil-double affine Hecke algebra (nil-DAHA) and a $q$-Heisenberg algebra. The action of the latter generates a free submodule of rank $|W|$, where $W$ is the (finite) Weyl group. We show that this submodule is stable under the nil-DAHA, which enables one to express the nil-DAHA action in terms of $W\times W$ matrices over the $q$-Heisenberg algebra. Our main result gives an explicit algebraic construction of these matrices as a limit from the (non-nil…
We show that the Borel-equivariant derived category of sheaves on the flag variety of a complex reductive group is equivalent to the perfect derived category of dg modules over the extension algebra of the direct sum of the simple equivariant perverse sheaves. This proves a conjecture of Soergel and Lunts in the case of flag varieties.
We study the equivariant flag $f$-vector and equivariant flag $h$-vector of a balanced relative simplicial complex with respect to a group action. When the complex satisfies Serre's condition $(S_{\ell}),$ we show that the equivariant flag $h$-vector, the equivariant $h$-vector, and the equivariant $f$-vector satisfy several inequalities. We apply these results to the study of $P$-partitions of double posets, and weak colorings of mixed graphs.
We prove that the invariant Hilbert scheme parametrising the equivariant deformations of the affine multicone over a flag variety is, under certain hypotheses, an affine space. The proof is based on the construction of a wonderful variety in a fixed multiprojective space.
We propose a definition of equivariant (with respect to an Iwahori subgroup) $K$-theory of the formal power series model $\mathbf{Q}_{G}$ of semi-infinite flag manifold and prove the Pieri-Chevalley formula, which describes the product, in the $K$-theory of $\mathbf{Q}_{G}$, of the structure sheaf of a semi-infinite Schubert variety with a line bundle (associated to a dominant integral weight) over $\mathbf{Q}_{G}$. In order to achieve this, we provide a number of fundamental results on $\mathbf{Q}_{G}$ and its Schubert subvarieties including the Borel-Weil-Bott theory, whose special case is c…
We study the $S_n$-equivariant log-concavity of the cohomology of flag varieties, also known as the coinvariant ring of $S_n$. Using the theory of representation stability, we give computer-assisted proofs of the equivariant log-concavity in low degrees and high degrees and conjecture that it holds for all degrees. Furthermore, we make a stronger unimodal conjecture which implies the equivariant log-concavity.
Staggered $t$-structures are a class of $t$-structures on derived categories of equivariant coherent sheaves. In this note, we show that the derived category of coherent sheaves on a partial flag variety, equivariant for a Borel subgroup, admits an artinian staggered $t$-structure. As a consequence, we obtain a basis for its equivariant $K$-theory consisting of simple staggered sheaves.
Let $\XR$ be a (generalized) flag manifold of a non-compact real semisimple Lie group $\GR$, where $\XR$ and $\GR$ have complexifications X and G. We investigate the problem of constructing a graded star product on $Pol(T^*\XR)$ which corresponds to a $\GR$-equivariant quantization of symbols into smooth differential operators acting on half-densities on $\XR$. We show that any solution is algebraic in that it restricts to a G-equivariant graded star product star on the algebraic part R of $Pol(T^*\XR)$. We construct, when R is generated by the momentum functions $μ^x$ for G, a preferred choic…
We prove an explicit inverse Chevalley formula in the equivariant $K$-theory of semi-infinite flag manifolds of simply-laced type. By an inverse Chevalley formula, we mean a formula for the product of an equivariant scalar with a Schubert class, expressed as a $\mathbb{Z}[q^{\pm 1}]$-linear combination of Schubert classes twisted by equivariant line bundles. Our formula applies to arbitrary Schubert classes in semi-infinite flag manifolds of simply-laced type and equivariant scalars $e^λ$, where $λ$ is an arbitrary minuscule weight. By a result of Stembridge, our formula completely determines …
We give a combinatorial Chevalley formula for an arbitrary weight, in the torus-equivariant K-theory of semi-infinite flag manifolds, which is expressed in terms of the quantum alcove model. As an application, we prove the Chevalley formula for anti-dominant fundamental weights in the (small) torus-equivariant quantum K-theory of the flag manifold G/B; this has been a longstanding conjecture about the multiplicative structure of the mentioned quantum K-theory. Moreover, in type A, we prove that the so-called quantum Grothendieck polynomials indeed represent Schubert classes in the (non-equivar…
We study equivariant contact structures on complex projective varieties arising as partial flag varieties $G/P$, where $G$ is a connected, simply-connected complex simple group of type $ADE$ and $P$ is a parabolic subgroup. We prove a special case of the LeBrun-Salamon conjecture for partial flag varieties of these types. The result can be deduced from Boothby's classification of compact simply-connected complex contact manifolds with transitive action by contact automorphisms, but our proof is completely independent and relies on properties of $G$-equivariant vector bundles on $G/P$. A byprod…
We give explicit formulas for torus-equivariant fundamental classes of closed $K$-orbits on the flag variety $G/B$ when $G$ is one of the classical groups $SL(n,\C)$, $SO(n,\C)$, or $Sp(2n,\C)$, and $K$ is a symmetric subgroup of $G$. We describe parametrizations of each orbit set and the combinatorics of its weak order, allowing us to compute formulas for the equivariant classes of all remaining orbit closures using divided difference operators. In each of the cases in type A, we realize the $K$-orbit closures as universal degeneracy loci of a certain type, involving a vector bundle $V$ over …
We prove sign-alternation of the structure constants in the basis of structure sheaves of opposite Schubert varieties in the torus-equivariant Grothendieck group of coherent sheaves on the flag varieties $G/P$ associated to an arbitrary symmetrizable Kac-Moody group $G$, where $P$ is any parabolic subgroup. This generalizes the work of Anderson-Griffeth-Miller from the finite case to the general Kac-Moody case, and affirmatively answers a conjecture of Lam-Schilling-Shimozono regarding the signs of the structure constants in the case of the affine Grassmannian.
We prove some general results on the T-equivariant K-theory K_T(G/P) of the flag variety G/P, where G is a semisimple complex algebraic group, P is a parabolic subgroup and T$ is a maximal torus contained in P. In particular, we make a conjecture about a positivity phenomenon in K_T(G/P) for the product of two basis elements written in terms of the basis of K_T(G/P) given by the dual of the structure sheaf (of Schubert varieties) basis. (For the full flag variety G/B, this dual basis is closely related to the basis given by Kostant-Kumar.) This conjecture is parallel to (but different from) th…
Let $\mathfrak{g}$ be a finite simply-laced type simple Lie algebra. Baumann-Kamnitzer-Knutson recently defined an algebra morphism $\overline{D}$ on the coordinate ring $\mathbb{C}[N]$ related to Brion's equivariant multiplicities via the geometric Satake correspondence. This map is known to take distinguished values on the elements of the MV basis corresponding to smooth MV cycles, as well as on the elements of the dual canonical basis corresponding to Kleshchev-Ram's strongly homogeneous modules over quiver Hecke algebras. In this paper we show that when $\mathfrak{g}$ is of type $A_n$ or $…
Let $X$ be a partial flag variety, equipped with the Borel action by multiplication. We give a criterion for the equivariant derived category with modular coefficients to be formal.
Flag domains are open orbits of real semisimple Lie groups in flag manifolds of their complexification. A special class of flag domains constitute the classifying spaces for variations of Hodge structure, namely period domains or more generally Mumford-Tate domains. In this paper we classify all proper, equivariant embeddings of a flag domain of Hodge type, required to satisfy a certain transversality condition, in a period domain and show that any such flag domain must be a Hermitian symmetric space of non-compact type of classical type. In particular, the classification describes also the pr…
In this article, the comodule structure of Chow rings of Flag manifolds $\operatorname{CH}(G/B)$ is described by Schubert cells. Its equivariant version gives rise to a Hopf structure of the equivariant cohomology of flag manifolds $H^*_B(G/B)$. We get two identities of generalized Schubert polynomials as explanations of the geometric facts.
We introduce and study various categories of (equivariant) motives of (versal) flag varieties. We relate these categories with certain categories of parabolic (Demazure) modules. We show that the motivic decomposition type of a versal flag variety depends on the direct sum decomposition type of the parabolic module. To do this we use localization techniques of Kostant-Kumar in the context of generalized oriented cohomology as well as the Rost nilpotence principle for algebraic cobordism and its generic version. As an application, we obtain new proofs and examples of indecomposable Chow motives…
For a semi-simple simply connected algebraic group G we introduce certain parabolic analogues of the Nekrasov partition function (introduced by Nekrasov and studied recently by Nekrasov-Okounkov and Nakajima-Yoshioka for G=SL(n)). These functions count (roughly speaking) principal G-bundles on the projective plane with a trivialization at infinity and with a parabolic structure at the horizontal line. When the above parabolic subgroup is a Borel subgroup we show that the corresponding partition function is basically equal to the Whittaker matrix coefficient in the universal Verma module over c…
In math.RT/0201073 we constructed an equivalence between the derived category of equivariant coherent sheaves on the cotangent bundle to the flag variety of a simple algebraic group and a (quotient of) the category of constructible sheaves on the affine flag variety of the Langlands dual group. Below we prove certain properties of this equivalence; provide a similar ``Langlands dual'' description for the category of equivariant coherent sheaves on the nilpotent cone; and deduce some conjectures by Lusztig and Ostrik.
We use equivariant localization and divided difference operators to determine formulas for the torus-equivariant fundamental cohomology classes of $K$-orbit closures on the flag variety $G/B$, where $G = GL(n,\C)$, and where $K$ is one of the symmetric subgroups $O(n,\C)$ or $Sp(n,\C)$. We realize these orbit closures as universal degeneracy loci for a vector bundle over a variety equipped with a single flag of subbundles and a nondegenerate symmetric or skew-symmetric bilinear form taking values in the trivial bundle. We describe how our equivariant formulas can be interpreted as giving formu…
We introduce a class of perverse sheaves on a partial flag manifold of a connected reductive group G defined over a finite field which are equivariant under the action of the group of rational points of G. The definition of this class is similar to the definition of parabolic character sheaves.
We continue the study, begun in [Kouno-Naito-Orr-Sagaki, 2021], of inverse Chevalley formulas for the equivariant $K$-group of semi-infinite flag manifolds. Using the language of alcove paths, we reformulate and extend our combinatorial inverse Chevalley formula to arbitrary weights in all simply-laced types (conjecturally also for $E_8$).
We study equivariant localization of intersection cohomology complexes on Schubert varieties in Kashiwara's flag manifold. Using moment graph theory, we establish a link to the representation theory of Kac-Moody algebras and give a new proof of the Kazhdan-Lusztig conjecture for blocks containing an antidominant element.
Let G be a semisimple complex algebraic group with Borel subgroup B and let P be a parabolic subgroup of G. Let T*(G/P) denote the cotangent bundle of G/P. Ranee Brylinski discovered a connection between cohomology of G-equivariant line bundles on T*(G/B) and the so-called Brylinski-Kostant filtration, which describes the action of principal sl_2 triples on G-representations. In this paper we generalize these results to a larger class of sl_2 triples. Along the way we also obtain generalizations of results due to Broer on cohomology of G-equivariant bundles on T*(G/P) for various parabolics P.
Following the historical track in pursuing $T$-equivariant flat toric degenerations of flag varieties and spherical varieties, we explain how powerful tools in algebraic geometry and representation theory, such as canonical bases, Newton-Okounkov bodies, PBW-filtrations and cluster algebras come to push the subject forward.
Let G be the group of L-rational points of a connected split reductive group over a finite extension L of Q_p. We show that formal models of the algebraic flag variety X of G are D-affine for certain sheaves of arithmetic differential operators. We then introduce the category of coadmissible G-equivariant arithmetic D-modules on the system of formal models of X and prove that it is anti-equivalent to the category of admissible locally L-analytic G-representations with trivial infinitesimal character. We compute the equivariant arithmetic D-modules of certain classes of representations.
To any moment graph G we assign a subcategory V of the category of sheaves on G together with an exact structure. We show that in the case that the graph is associated to a non-critical block of the equivariant category O over a symmetrizable Kac-Moody algebra, V is equivalent (as an exact category) to the subcategory of modules that admit a Verma flag. The projective modules correspond under this equivalence to the intersection cohomology sheaves on the graph.
Let G be a split semi-simple p-adic group and let H be its Iwahori-Hecke algebra with coefficients in the algebraic closure k of the finite field with p elements. Let F be the affine flag variety over k associated with G. We show, in the simply connected simple case, that a torus-equivariant K'-theory of F (with coefficients in k) admits an H-action by Demazure operators and that this provides a model for the regular representation of H.
We consider the equivariant K-theory of a real semisimple Lie group which acts on the (complex) flag variety of its complexification group. We construct an assemble map in the framework of KK-theory and then we prove that it is an isomorphism. The prove relies on a careful study of the orbits of the real group action on the flag variety and then piecing together different orbits. This result is a special case of the Baum-Connes conjecture with coefficients.
Generalizing Schubert cells in type A and a cell decomposition if Springer fibres in type A found by L. Fresse we prove that varieties of complete flags in nilpotent representations of an oriented cycle admit an affine cell decomposition parametrized by multi-tableaux. We show that they carry a torus operation and describe the T-equivariant cohomology using Goresky-Kottwitz-MacPherson-theory. As an application of the cell decomposition we obtain a vector space basis of certain modules (for quiver Hecke algebras of nilpotent representations of this quiver), similar modules have been studied by …
For any Kac-Moody group $G$ with Borel $B$, we give a monoidal equivalence between the derived category of $B$-equivariant mixed complexes on the flag variety $G/B$ and (a certain completion of) the derived category of $B^\vee$-monodromic mixed complexes on the enhanced flag variety $G^\vee/U^\vee$, here $G^\vee$ is the Langlands dual of $G$. We also prove variants of this equivalence, one of which is the equivalence between the derived category of $U$-equivariant mixed complexes on the partial flag variety $G/P$ and certain "Whittaker model" category of mixed complexes on $G^\vee/B^\vee$. In …
Let g be a semi-simple Lie algebra. In this paper we study the spaces of based quasi-maps from the projective line P^1 to the flag variety of g (it is well-known that their singularities are supposed to model the singularities of the so called semi-infinite Schubert varieties which are hard to define directly). In the first part of the paper we show that the above spaces are normal and in the case when g is simply laced they are also Gorenstein and have rational singularities. In the second part of the paper we compute the character of the ring of functions on the above spaces; in view of the …
Let $X$ be a holomorphic symplectic variety with a torus $\mathsf{T}$ action and a finite fixed point set of cardinality $k$. We assume that elliptic stable envelope exists for $X$. Let $A_{I,J}= \operatorname{Stab}(J)|_{I}$ be the $k\times k$ matrix of restrictions of the elliptic stable envelopes of $X$ to the fixed points. The entries of this matrix are theta-functions of two groups of variables: the Kähler parameters and equivariant parameters of $X$. We say that two such varieties $X$ and $X'$ are related by the 3d mirror symmetry if the fixed point sets of $X$ and $X'$ have the same card…
Given a Calabi-Yau manifold $X$ acted by a group $G$ and considering the $B$-branes on $X$ as objects in the derived category of coherent sheaves, we give a definition of equivariant branes, which generalizes the concept of equivariant sheaves. We also propose a definition of equivariant charge of an equivariant brane. The spaces of strings joining the branes ${\mathcal F}$ and ${\mathcal G}$, are the groups $Ext^i({\mathcal F},\,{\mathcal G})$. We prove that the spaces of strings between two $G$-equivariant branes support representations of $G$. Thus, these spaces can be decomposed in direct …
We give a positive answer to the Berry-Robbins problem for any compact Lie group G, i.e. we show the existence of a smooth W-equivariant map from the space of regular triples in a Cartan subalgebra to the flag manifold G/T. This map is constructed via solutions to Nahm's equations and it is compatible with the SO(3) action, where SO(3) acts on G/T via a regular homomorphism from SU(2) to G. We then generalize this picture to include an arbitrary homomorphism from SU(2) to G. This leads to an interesting geometrical picture which appears to be related to the Springer representation of the Weyl …
