The equivariant $K$-theory of the semi-infinite flag manifold, as developed recently by Kato, Naito, and Sagaki, carries commuting actions of the nil-double affine Hecke algebra (nil-DAHA) and a $q$-Heisenberg algebra. The action of the latter generates a free submodule of rank $|W|$, where $W$ is the (finite) Weyl group. We show that this submodule is stable under the nil-DAHA, which enables one to express the nil-DAHA action in terms of $W\times W$ matrices over the $q$-Heisenberg algebra. Our main result gives an explicit algebraic construction of these matrices as a limit from the (non-nil) DAHA in simply-laced type. This construction reveals that multiplication by equivariant scalars, when expressed in terms of the Heisenberg algebra, is given by the nonsymmetric $q$-Toda system introduced by Cherednik and the author.
This work, to be published in Transformation Groups in two parts, is devoted to the theory of nil-DAHA for the root system A_1 and its applications to symmetric and nonsymmetric (spinor) global q-Whittaker functions. These functions integrate the q-Toda eigenvalue problem and its Dunkl-type nonsymmetric version. The global symmetric function can be interpreted as the generating function of the Demazure characters for dominant weights, which describe the algebraic-geometric properties of the corresponding affine Schubert varieties. Its Harish-Chandra-type asymptotic expansion appeared directly …
In the theory of the Nil-DAHA Fourier transform, the inner products of q-Hermite polynomials for the measure function multiplied by a level one theta function are the key. They are used to obtain expansions of products of any number of such theta functions in terms of the q-Hermite polynomials. An ample family of modular functions satisfying Rogers-Ramanujan type identities for arbitrary (reduced, twisted) affine root systems is obtained as an application. A relation to Rogers dilogarithm and Nahm's conjecture is discussed. Some of our q-series can be identified with known ones, but their inte…
In this paper we construct representations of certain graded double affine Hecke algebras (DAHA) with possibly unequal parameters from geometry. More precisely, starting with a simple Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ together with a $\mathbb{Z}/m\mathbb{Z}$-grading $\oplus_{i}\mathfrak{g}_{i}$ and a block of $G_{\underline{0}}$-equivariant complexes on the nilpotent cone of $\mathfrak{g}_{\underline{1}}$ as introduced in \cite{LY1}, we attach a graded DAHA and construct its action on the direct sum of spiral inductions in that block. This generalizes results of Vasserot \cite{V} and Oblomkov-Yun \ci…
Generalizing Schubert cells in type A and a cell decomposition if Springer fibres in type A found by L. Fresse we prove that varieties of complete flags in nilpotent representations of an oriented cycle admit an affine cell decomposition parametrized by multi-tableaux. We show that they carry a torus operation and describe the T-equivariant cohomology using Goresky-Kottwitz-MacPherson-theory. As an application of the cell decomposition we obtain a vector space basis of certain modules (for quiver Hecke algebras of nilpotent representations of this quiver), similar modules have been studied by …
In math.RT/0201073 we constructed an equivalence between the derived category of equivariant coherent sheaves on the cotangent bundle to the flag variety of a simple algebraic group and a (quotient of) the category of constructible sheaves on the affine flag variety of the Langlands dual group. Below we prove certain properties of this equivalence; provide a similar ``Langlands dual'' description for the category of equivariant coherent sheaves on the nilpotent cone; and deduce some conjectures by Lusztig and Ostrik.
Our goal is to classify all generically transitive actions of commutative unipotent groups on flag varieties up to conjugation. We establish relationship between this problem and classification of multiplications with certain properties on Lie algebra representations. Then we classify multiplications with the desired properties and solve the initial classification problem.
In \cite{JS} Jensen and Su constructed 0-Schur algebras on double flag varieties. The construction leads to a presentation of 0-Schur algebras using quivers with relations and the quiver approach naturally gives rise to a new class of algebras. That is, the path algebras defined on the quivers of 0-Schur algebras with relations modified from the defining relations of 0-Schur algebras by a tuple of parameters $\ut$. In particular, when all the entries of $\ut$ are 1, we have 0-Schur algerbas. When all the entries of $\ut$ are zero, we obtain a class of degenerate 0-Schur algebras. We prove that…
Let $G$ be a semisimple, simply connected, algebraic group over an algebraically closed field $k$ with Lie algebra $\frak g$. We study the spaces of parahoric subalgebras of a given type containing a fixed nil-elliptic element of $\frak g\otimes k((π))$, i.e. fixed point varieties on affine flag manifolds. We define a natural class of $k^*$-actions on affine flag manifolds, generalizing actions introduced by Lusztig and Smelt. We formulate a condition on a pair $(N,f)$ consisting of $N\in\frak{g}\otimes k((π))$ and a $k^*$-action $f$ of the specified type which guarantees that $f$ induces an a…
A geometric extension algebra is an extension algebra of a semi-simple perverse sheaf (allowing shifts), e.g. a push-forward of the constant sheaf under a projective map. Particular nice situations arise for collapsings of homogeneous vector bundle over homogeneous spaces. In this paper, we study the relationship between partial flag and complete flag cases. Our main result is that the locally finite modules over the geometric extension algebras are related by a recollement. As examples, we investigate parabolic affine nil Hecke algebras, geometric extension algebras associated to parabolic Sp…
Given a reductive group G, Kostant and Kumar defined a nil Hecke algebra that may be viewed as a degenerate version of the double affine nil Hecke algebra introduced by Cherednik. In this paper, we construct an isomorphism of the spherical subalgebra of the nil Hecke algebra with a Whittaker type quantum Hamiltonian reduction of the algebra of differential operators on G. This result has an interpretation in terms of the geometric Satake and the Langlands dual group. Specifically, the isomorphism provides a bridge between very differently looking descriptions of equivariant Borel-Moore homolog…
We introduce and study various categories of (equivariant) motives of (versal) flag varieties. We relate these categories with certain categories of parabolic (Demazure) modules. We show that the motivic decomposition type of a versal flag variety depends on the direct sum decomposition type of the parabolic module. To do this we use localization techniques of Kostant-Kumar in the context of generalized oriented cohomology as well as the Rost nilpotence principle for algebraic cobordism and its generic version. As an application, we obtain new proofs and examples of indecomposable Chow motives…
We define and investigate algebraic torus actions on quiver Grassmannians for nilpotent representations of the equioriented cycle. Examples of such varieties are type $\tt A$ flag varieties, their linear degenerations, finite dimensional approximations of the $GL_n$-affine flag variety and affine Grassmannian. We show that these quiver Grassmannians, equipped with our torus action, are GKM-varieties and that their moment graph admits a combinatorial description in terms of coefficients quiver of the underlying quiver representations. By adapting to our setting results by Gonzales, we are able …
We give a presentation for the cohomology algebra of the Spaltenstein variety of all partial flags annihilated by a fixed nilpotent matrix, generalizing the description of the cohomology algebra of the Springer fiber found by De Concini, Procesi and Tanisaki.
The nilpotent cone of a reductive Lie algebra has a desingularization given by thecotangent bundle of the flag variety. Analogously, the nullcone of a cartesianpower of the algebra has a desingularization given by a vector bundle over theflag variety. As for the nullcone, the subvariety of elements whose componentsare in a same Borel subalgebra, has a desingularization given by a vector bundle overthe flag variety. In this note, some properties of these varieties are given. Forthe study of the commuting variety, the analogous variety to the flag variety isthe closure in the Grassmannian of the…
The paper is concerned with cohomology of the small quantum group at a root of unity, and of its upper triangular subalgebra, with coefficients in a tilting module. We relate it to a certain t-structure on the derived category of equivariant coherent sheaves on the Springer resolution, and to equivariant coherent IC sheaves on the nil-cone. The support of these cohomology is described in terms of cells in affine Weyl groups, and the basis in the Grothendieck group they provide is related to the Kazhdan-Lusztig basis, as predicted by J. Humphreys and V. Ostrik. The proof is based on earlier res…
There are two intriguing statements regarding the quantum cohomology of partial flag varieties. The first one relates quantum cohomology to the affinisation of Lie algebras and the homology of the affine Grassmannian, the second one connects it with the geometry of quiver varieties. The connection with the affine Grassmannian was first discussed in unpublished work of Peterson and subsequently proved by Lam and Shimozono. The second development is based on recent works of Nekrasov, Shatashvili and of Maulik, Okounkov relating the quantum cohomology of Nakajima varieties with integrable systems…
Recently Alday, Gaiotto and Tachikawa proposed a conjecture relating 4-dimensional super-symmetric gauge theory for a gauge group G with certain 2-dimensional conformal field theory. This conjecture implies the existence of certain structures on the (equivariant) intersection cohomology of the Uhlenbeck partial compactification of the moduli space of framed G-bundles on P^2. More precisely, it predicts the existence of an action of the corresponding W-algebra on the above cohomology, satisfying certain properties. We propose a "finite analog" of the (above corollary of the) AGT conjecture. Nam…
