Multiparametric quantum deformations of $gl(2)$ are studied through a complete classification of $gl(2)$ Lie bialgebra structures. From them, the non-relativistic limit leading to harmonic oscillator Lie bialgebras is implemented by means of a contraction procedure. New quantum deformations of $gl(2)$ together with their associated quantum $R$-matrices are obtained and other known quantizations are recovered and classified. Several connections with integrable models are outlined.
Multiparametric quantum $gl(2)$ algebras are presented according to a classification based on their corresponding Lie bialgebra structures. From them, the non-relativistic limit leading to quantum harmonic oscillator algebras is implemented in the form of generalized Lie bialgebra contractions.
The Lie bialgebras of the (1+1) extended Galilei algebra are obtained and classified into four multiparametric families. Their quantum deformations are obtained, together with the corresponding deformed Casimir operators. For the coboundary cases quantum universal R-matrices are also given. Applications of the quantum extended Galilei algebras to classical integrable systems are explicitly developed.
For a finite dimensional simple complex Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$, Lie bialgebra structures on $\mathfrak{g}[[u]]$ and $\mathfrak{g}[u]$ were classified by Montaner, Stolin and Zelmanov. In our paper, we provide an explicit algorithm to produce $r$-matrices which correspond to Lie bialgebra structures over polynomials.
We study the relationship between general dynamical Poisson groupoids and Lie quasi-bialgebras. For a class of Lie quasi-bialgebras naturally compatible with a reductive decomposition, we extend the description of the moduli space of classical dynamical r-matrices of Etingof and Schiffmann. We construct, in each gauge orbit, an explicit analytic representative l. We translate the notion of duality for dynamical Poisson groupoids into a duality for Lie quasi-bialgebras. It is shown that duality maps the dynamical Poisson groupoid for l and a Lie quasi-bialgebra to the dynamical Poisson groupoid…
Novikov algebras are algebras whose associators are left-symmetric and right multiplication operators are mutually commutative. A Gel'fand-Dorfman bialgebra is a vector space with a Lie algebra structure and a Novikov algebra structure, satisfying a certain compatibility condition. Such a bialgebraic structure corresponds to a certain Hamiltonian pairs in integrable systems. In this article, we present a construction of Gel'fand-Dorfman bialgebras from certain classical R-matrices on Lie algebras. In particular, we construct such R-matrices from certain abelian subalgebras of Lie algebras. As …
In this Colloqium Lecture (by one of the authors (D.S)) a thorough presentation of the authors' research on the subjects, stated in the title, is given. By quite laborious mathematics it is explained how one can handle systems in which each Heisenberg commutation relation is deformed separately. For Hilbert space realizability a detailed determinant computations (extending Zagier's one-parameter formulas) are carried out. The inversion problem of the associated Gram matrices on Fock weight spaces is completely solved (Extended Zagier's conjecture) and a counterexample (for $n=8$) to the origin…
Let $(g,δ_\hbar)$ be a Lie bialgebra. Let $(U_\hbar(g),Δ_\hbar)$ a quantization of $(g,δ_\hbar)$ through Etingof-Kazhdan functor. We prove the existence of a $L_\infty$-morphism between the Lie algebra $C(\g)=Λ(g)$ and the tensor algebra $TU=T(U_\hbar(g)[-1])$ with Lie algebra structure given by the Gerstenhaber bracket. When $(g,δ_\hbar,r)$ is a coboundary Lie bialgebra, we deduce from the formality morphism the existence of a quantization $R$ of $r$.
A new construction method of $R$-matrix is given. Let $A$ be a C$^{*}$-bialgebra with a comultiplication $Δ$. For two states $ω$ and $ψ$ of $A$ which satisfy certain conditions, we construct a unitary $R$-matrix $R(ω,ψ)$ of the C$^{*}$-bialgebra $(A,Δ)$ on the tensor product of GNS representation spaces associated with $ω$ and $ψ$. The set $\{R(ω,ψ):ω,ψ\}$ satisfies a kind of Yang-Baxter equation. Furthermore, we show a nontrivial example of such $R$-matrices for a non-quasi-cocommutative C$^{*}$-bialgebra.
All coboundary Lie bialgebras and their corresponding Poisson--Lie structures are constructed for the oscillator algebra generated by $\{å,\ap,\am,\bb\}$. Quantum oscillator algebras are derived from these bialgebras by using the Lyakhovsky and Mudrov formalism and, for some cases, quantizations at both algebra and group levels are obtained, including their universal $R$--matrices.
A homotopy analogue of the notion of a triangular Lie bialgebra is proposed with a goal of extending the basic notions of theory of quantum groups to the context of homotopy algebras and, in particular, introducing a homotopical generalization of the notion of a quantum group, or quantum$_\infty$-group.
The co-Lie structures compatible with the osp(2|2) Lie super algebra structure are investigated and found to be all of coboundary type. The corresponding classical r-matrices are classified into several disjoint families. The osp(1|2)+u(1) Lie super-bialgebras are also classified.
In this paper we consider energy operator (a free Hamiltonian), in the second-quantized approach, for the multiparameter quon algebras: $a_{i}a_{j}^{\dagger}-q_{ij}a_{j}^{\dagger}a_{i} = δ_{ij}, i,j\in I$ with $(q_{ij})_{i,j\in I}$ any hermitian matrix of deformation parameters. We obtain an elegant formula for normally ordered (sometimes called Wick-ordered) series expansions of number operators (which determine a free Hamiltonian). As a main result (see Theorem 1) we prove that the number operators are given, with respect to a basis formed by "generalized Lie elements", by certain normally o…
A class of non-associative and non-coassociative generalizations of cobraided bialgebras, called cobraided Hom-bialgebras, is introduced. The non-(co)associativity in a cobraided Hom-bialgebra is controlled by a twisting map. Several methods for constructing cobraided Hom-bialgebras are given. In particular, Hom-type generalizations of FRT quantum groups, including quantum matrices and related quantum groups, are obtained. Each cobraided Hom-bialgebra comes with solutions of the operator quantum Hom-Yang-Baxter equations, which are twisted analogues of the operator form of the quantum Yang-Bax…
Let $\g$ be a finite dimensional complex Lie algebra and $ł\subset \g$ a Lie subalgebra equipped with the structure of a factorizable quasitriangular Lie bialgebra. Consider the Lie group $\Exp ł$ with the Semenov-Tjan-Shansky Poisson bracket as a Poisson Lie manifold for the double Lie bialgebra $\Dł$. Let $\Nc_ł(0)\subset ł$ be an open domain parameterizing a neighborhood of the identity in $\Exp ł$ by the exponential map. We present dynamical $r$-matrices with values in $\g\wedge \g$ over the Poisson Lie base manifold $\Nc_ł(0)$.
The broadly applied notions of Lie bialgebras, Manin triples, classical $r$-matrices and $\mathcal{O}$-operators of Lie algebras owe their importance to the close relationship among them. Yet these notions and their correspondences are mostly understood as classes of objects and maps among the classes. To gain categorical insight, this paper introduces, for each of the classes, a notion of homomorphisms, uniformly called coherent homomorphisms, so that the classes of objects become categories and the maps among the classes become functors or category equivalences. For this purpose, we start wi…
In the paper "On some unsolved problems in quantum group theory", V.Drinfeld formulated the problem of the existence of a universal quantization for Lie bialgebras. When the paper "Tensor structures arising from affine Lie algebras, III", by Kazhdan and Lusztig, appeared, Drinfeld asked whether its methods could be useful for the problem of universal quantization of Lie bialgebras. In this paper we use these methods to construct the universal quantization, which gives a positive answer to Drinfeld's question. We also show the existence of universal quantization of classical r-matrices, unitary…
We find the exotic matrix bialgebras which correspond to the two non-triangular nonsingular 4x4 R-matrices in the classification of Hietarinta, namely, R_{S0,3} and R_{S1,4}. We find two new exotic bialgebras S03 and S14 which are not deformations of the of the classical algebras of functions on GL(2) or GL(1|1). With this we finalize the classification of the matrix bialgebras which unital associative algebras generated by four elements. We also find the corresponding dual bialgebras of these new exotic bialgebras and study their representation theory in detail. We also discuss in detail a sp…
We study classical twists of Lie bialgebra structures on the polynomial current algebra $\mathfrak{g}[u]$, where $\mathfrak{g}$ is a simple complex finite-dimensional Lie algebra. We focus on the structures induced by the so-called quasi-trigonometric solutions of the classical Yang-Baxter equation. It turns out that quasi-trigonometric $r$-matrices fall into classes labelled by the vertices of the extended Dynkin diagram of $\mathfrak{g}$. We give complete classification of quasi-trigonometric $r$-matrices belonging to multiplicity free simple roots (which have coefficient 1 in the decomposit…
We study the geometric aspects of two exotic bialgebras S03 and S14 introduced in math.QA/0206053. These bialgebras are obtained by the Faddeev-Reshetikhin-Takhtajan RTT prescription with non-triangular R-matrices which are denoted $R_{03}$ and $R_{14}$ in the classification of Hietarinta, and they are not deformations of either GL(2) or GL(1/1). We give the spectral decomposition which involves two, resp., three, projectors. These projectors are then used to provide the Baxterisation procedure with one, resp., two, parameters. Further, the projectors are used to construct the noncommutative p…
In the classification of solutions of the Yang--Baxter equation, there are solutions that are not deformations of the trivial solution (essentially the identity). We consider the algebras defined by these solutions, and the corresponding dual algebras. We then study the representations of the latter. We are also interested in the Baxterisation of these $R$-matrices and in the corresponding quantum planes.
All Lie bialgebra structures for the (1+1)-dimensional centrally extended Schrodinger algebra are explicitly derived and proved to be of the coboundary type. Therefore, since all of them come from a classical r-matrix, the complete family of Schrodinger Poisson-Lie groups can be deduced by means of the Sklyanin bracket. All possible embeddings of the harmonic oscillator, extended Galilei and gl(2) Lie bialgebras within the Schrodinger classification are studied. As an application, new quantum (Hopf algebra) deformations of the Schrodinger algebra, including their corresponding quantum universa…
We propose a method of quantization of certain Lie bialgebra structures on the polynomial Lie algebras related to quasi-trigonometric solutions of the classical Yang--Baxter equation. The method is based on an affine realization of certain seaweed algebras and their quantum analogues. We also propose a method of $ω$-affinization, which enables us to quantize rational $r$-matrices of $\mathfrak{sl}(3)$.
We construct a Poisson isomorphism between the formal Poisson manifolds g^* and G^*, where g is a finite dimensional quasitriangular Lie bialgebra. Here g^* is equipped with its Lie-Poisson (or Kostant-Kirillov-Souriau) structure, and G^* with its Poisson-Lie structure. We also quantize Poisson-Lie dynamical r-matrices of Balog-Feher-Palla.
Two algebras can be attached to a braided vector space $(V, c)$ in an intrinsic way; the FRT-bialgebra and the Nichols algebra $\toba(V, c)$. The FRT-bialgebra plays the rôle of the algebra of quantum matrices, whereas the rôle of the Nichols algebra is less understood. Some authors call $\toba(V)$ a quantum symmetric algebra. The purpose of this paper is to discuss some properties of certain Nichols algebras, in an attempt to establish classes of Nichols algebras which are worth of further study.
Poisson-Lie (PL) dynamical r-matrices are generalizations of dynamical r-matrices, where the base is a Poisson-Lie group. We prove analogues of basic results for these r-matrices, namely constructions of (quasi)Poisson groupoids and of Poisson homogeneous spaces. We introduce a class of PL dynamical r-matrices, associated to nondegenerate Lie bialgebras with a splitting; this is a generalization of trigonometric r-matrices with an abelian base. We prove a composition theorem for PL dynamical r-matrices, and construct quantizations of the polarized PL dynamical r-matrices. This way, we obtain q…
We propose a method of quantization of certain Lie bialgebra structures on the polynomial Lie algebras related to quasi-trigonometric solutions of the classical Yang-Baxter equation. The method is based on so-called affinization of certain seaweed algebras and their quantum analogues.
Braided groups and braided matrices are novel algebraic structures living in braided or quasitensor categories. As such they are a generalization of super-groups and super-matrices to the case of braid statistics. Here we construct braided group versions of the standard quantum groups $U_q(g)$. They have the same FRT generators $l^\pm$ but a matrix braided-coproduct $\undΔL=L\und\tens L$ where $L=l^+Sl^-$, and are self-dual. As an application, the degenerate Sklyanin algebra is shown to be isomorphic to the braided matrices $BM_q(2)$; it is a braided-commutative bialgebra in a braided category…
Le $X$ be a $C^\infty$-manifold and $\g$ be a finite dimensional Lie algebra acting freely on $X$. Let $r \in \ve^2(\g)$ be such that $Z=[r,r] \in \ve^3(\g)^\g$. In this paper we prove that every quasi-Poisson $(\g,Z)$-manifold can be quantized. This is a generalization of the existence of a twist quantization of coboundary Lie bialgebras (\cite{EH}) in the case $X=G$ (where $G$ is the simply connected Lie group corresponding to $\g$). We deduce our result from a generalized formality theorem. In the case Z=0, we get a new proof of the existence of (equivariant) formality theorem and so (equiv…
Lecture notes. Introduction to the cohomology of algebras, Lie algebras, Lie bialgebras and quantum groups. Contains a new derivation of the classification of classical r-matrices in terms of deformation cohomology, and a calculation of the esoteric forms of quantum gl(N) by deformation theory.
This paper is a continuation of "Quantization of Lie bialgebras, III" (q-alg/9610030, revised version). In QLB-III, we introduced the Hopf algebra F(R)_\z associated to a quantum R-matrix R(z) with a spectral parameter, and a set of points \z=(z_1,...,z_n). This algebra is generated by entries of a matrix power series T_i(u), i=1,...,n,subject to Faddeev-Reshetikhin-Takhtajan type commutation relations, and is a quantization of the group GL_N[[t]]. In this paper we consider the quotient F_0(R)_\z of F(R)_\z by the relations \qdet_R(T_i)=1, where \qdet_R is the quantum determinant associated to…
In this paper we describe all Lie bialgebra structures on the polynomial Lie algebra $\mathbf{g}[u]$, where $\mathbf{g}$ is a simple, finite dimensional, complex Lie algebra. The results are based on an unpublished paper Montaner and Zelmanov. Further, we introduce quasi-rational solutions of the CYBE and describe all quasi-rational $r$-matrices for $\mathbf{sl}(2)$.
Quantum bialgebras derivable from Uq(sl2) which contain idempotents and von Neumann regular Cartan-like generators are introduced and investigated. Various types of antipodes (invertible and von Neumann regular) on these bialgebras are constructed, which leads to a Hopf algebra structure and a von Neumann-Hopf algebra structure, respectively. For them, explicit forms of some particular R-matrices (also, invertible and von Neumann regular) are presented, and the latter respects the Pierce decomposition.
We study quantization of a class of inhomogeneous Lie bialgebras which are crossproducts in dual sectors with Abelian invariant parts. This class forms a category stable under dualization and the double operations. The quantization turns out to be a functor commuting with them. The Hopf operations and the universal R-matrices are given in terms of generators. The quantum algebras obtained appear to be isomorphic to the universal enveloping Poisson-Lie algebras on the dual groups.
We introduce the notion of a braided Lie algebra consisting of a finite-dimensional vector space $\CL$ equipped with a bracket $[\ ,\ ]:\CL\tens\CL\to \CL$ and a Yang-Baxter operator $Ψ:\CL\tens\CL\to \CL\tens\CL$ obeying some axioms. We show that such an object has an enveloping braided-bialgebra $U(\CL)$. We show that every generic $R$-matrix leads to such a braided Lie algebra with $[\ ,\ ]$ given by structure constants $c^{IJ}{}_K$ determined from $R$. In this case $U(\CL)=B(R)$ the braided matrices introduced previously. We also introduce the basic theory of these braided Lie algebras, in…
We consider new class of classical r-matrices for D=3 and D=4 conformal Lie algebras. These r-matrices do satisfy the classical Yang-Baxter equation and as two-tensors belong to the tensor product of Borel subalgebra. In such a way we generalize the lowest order of known nonstandard quantum deformation of sl(2) to the Lie algebras sp(4) = so(5) and sl(4) = so(6). As an exercise we interpret nonstandard deformation of sl(2) as describing quantum D=1 conformal algebra with fundamental mass parameter. Further we describe the D=3 and D=4 conformal bialgebras with deformation parameters equal to th…
The famous Drinfeld-Kohno theorem for simple Lie algebras states that the monodromy representation of the Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov equations for these Lie algebras expresses explicitly via R-matrices of the corresponding Drinfeld-Jimbo quantum groups. This result was generalized by the second author to simple Lie superalgebras of type A-G. In this paper, we generalize the Drinfeld-Kohno theorem to the case of the trigonometric Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov equations for simple Lie superalgebras of type A-G. The equations contain a classical r-matrix on the Lie superalgebra, and the answer expresses thr…
Multiparameter quantum gl(N) is not a rigid structure. This paper defines an essential deformation as one that cannot be interpreted in terms of a similarity transformation, nor as a perturbation of the parameters. All the equivalence classes of first order essential deformations are found, as well as a class of exact deformations. This work provides quantization of all the classical Lie bialgebra structures (constant r-matrices) found by Belavin and Drinfeld for sl(n). A special case, that requires the Hecke parameter to be a cubic root of unity, stands out.
The present article is a continuation of QA/1303.4046, where we discussed the classification of quantum groups with quasi-classical limit $\mathfrak{g}$ and introduced a theory of Belavin-Drinfeld cohomology associated to any non-skewsymmetric $r$-matrix. Depending on the form of the corresponding double, there exists a one-to-one correspondence between gauge equivalence classes of Lie bialgebra structures on $\mathfrak{g}\otimes_{\mathbb{C}}\mathbb{K}$, where $\mathbb{K}=\mathbb{C}((\hbar))$, and untwisted or twisted cohomology classes. In the present paper we investigate twisted cohomologies…
We study real and complex Manin triples for a complex reductive Lie algebra, $\g$. The first part includes, and extends to complex Manin triples, our earlier work [De]. First, we generalize results of E. Karolinsky, on the classification of Lagrangian subalgebras (cf.[K1], [K3]). Then we show that, if $\g$ is non commutative, one can attach, to each Manin triple in $\g$, another one for a strictly smaller reductive complex Lie subalgebra of $\g$. This gives a powerful tool for induction. Then we classify complex Manin triples, in terms of what we call generalized Belavin-Drinfeld data. In part…
$\mathcal{O}$-operators are important in broad areas in mathematics and physics, such as integrable systems, the classical Yang-Baxter equation, pre-Lie algebras and splitting of operads. In this paper, a deformation theory of $\mathcal{O}$-operators is established in consistence with the general principles of deformation theories. On the one hand, $\mathcal{O}$-operators are shown to be characterized as the Maurer-Cartan elements in a suitable graded Lie algebra. A given $\mathcal{O}$-operator gives rise to a differential graded Lie algebra whose Maurer-Cartan elements characterize deformatio…
