We define a family {$γ(P)$} of generalized Euler constants indexed by finite sets of primes $P$ and study their distribution. These arise from partial sums of reciprocals of integers not divisible by any prime in $P$. An apparent monotonicity is investigated. We also prove that a certain property of these numbers is equivalent to the Riemann Hypothesis.
In this paper, we mainly show that Euler sums of generalized hyperharmonic numbers can be expressed in terms of linear combinations of the classical Euler sums.
The purpose of this paper is to generalize this relation of symmetry between the power sum polynomials and the generalized Euler polynomials to the relation between the power sum polynomials and the generalized higher-order Euler polynomials.
Recently, introduced are the generalized Euler-Genocchi and generalized degenerate Euler-Genocchi polynomials. The aim of this note is to study the multi-Euler-Genocchi and degenerate multi-Euler-Genocchi polynomials which are defined by means of the multiple logarithm and generalize respectively the generalized Euler-Genocchi and generalized degenerate Euler-Genocchi polynomials. Especially, we express the former by the generalized Euler-Genocchi polynomials, the multi-Stirling numbers of the first kind and Stirling numbers of the second kind, and the latter by the generalized degenerate Eule…
We introduce the generalized degenerate Euler-Genocchi polynomials as a degenerate version of the Euler-Genocchi polynomials. In addition, we introduce their higher-order version, namely the generalized degenerate Euler-Genocchi polynomials of order α, as a degenerate version of the generalized Euler-Genocchi polynomials of order α. The aim of this paper is to study certain properties and identities involving those polynomials, the generalized falling factorials, the degenerate Euler polynomials of order α, the degenerate Stirling numbers of the second kind, and the alternating degenerate powe…
In this paper we study the genralized q-Euler numbers and polynomials. From our results, we derive some interesting congruences related tothe generalized q-Euler numbers.
The purpose of this paper is to construct the p-adic twisted (h,q)-Euler-l-function, which interpolates the twisted generalized twisted Euler numbers attached to chi at a negative integer.
By the symmetric properties of Drichlet's type multiple q-l-function, we establish various identities concerning the generalized higher-order q-Euler polynomials. Furthermore, we give some interesting relationship between the power sums and the generalized higher-order $q$-Euler polynomials.
In this paper, we introduce a new type of generalized alternating hyperharmonic numbers $H_n^{(p,r,s_{1},s_{2})}$, and show that Euler sums of the generalized alternating hyperharmonic numbers $H_n^{(p,r,s_{1},s_{2})}$ can be expressed in terms of linear combinations of classical (alternating) Euler sums.
In this paper, we investigate the properties of symmetry in two variables related to multiple Euler q-l-function which interpolates higher-order q-Euler polynomials at negative integers. From our investigation, we can derive many interesting identities of symmetry in two variables related to generalized higher-order q-Euler polynomials and alternating generalized q-power sums.
In this paper, we give some identities of symmetry for the generalized degenerate Euler polynomials attached to chi which are derived from the symmetric properties for certain fermionic p-adic integrals on Zp.
In this paper, we derive eight basic identities of symmetry in three variables related to generalized Euler polynomials and alternating generalized power sums. All of these are new, since there have been results only about identities of symmetry in two variables. The derivations of identities are based on the $p$-adic fermionic integral expression of the generating function for the generalized Euler polynomials and the quotient of integrals that can be expressed as the exponential generating function for the alternating generalized power sums.
Direct links between generalized harmonic numbers, linear Euler sums and Tornheim double series are established in a more perspicuous manner than is found in existing literature. We show that every linear Euler sum can be decomposed into a linear combination of Tornheim double series of the same weight. New closed form evaluations of various Euler sums are presented. Finally certain combinations of linear Euler sums that are reducible to Riemann zeta values are discovered.
Based on elementary methods and techniques, the explicit formula for the generalized Euler function $φ_{e}(n)(e=8,12)$ is given, and then a sufficient and necessary condition for $φ_{8}(n)$ or $φ_{12}(n)$ to be odd is obtained, respectively.
This paper presents the evaluation of the Euler sums of generalized hyperharmonic numbers $H_{n}^{\left( p,q\right) }$ \[ ζ_{H^{\left( p,q\right) }}\left( r\right) =\sum\limits_{n=1}^{\infty }\dfrac{H_{n}^{\left( p,q\right) }}{n^{r}}% \] in terms of the famous Euler sums of generalized harmonic numbers. Moreover, several infinite series, whose terms consist of certain harmonic numbers and reciprocal binomial coefficients, are evaluated in terms of Riemann zeta values.
We derive eight identities of symmetry in three variables related to generalized twisted Euler polynomials and alternating generalized twisted power sums, both of which are twisted by ramified roots of unity. All of these are new, since there have been results only about identities of symmetry in two variables. The derivations of identities are based on the $p$-adic integral expression of the generating function for the generalized twisted Euler polynomials and the quotient of $p$-adic integrals that can be expressed as the exponential generating function for the alternating generalized twiste…
We generalize well-known Catalan-type integrals for Euler's constant to values of the generalized-Euler-constant function and its derivatives. Using generating functions appeared in these integral representations we give new Vacca and Ramanujan-type series for values of the generalized-Euler-constant function and Addison-type series for values of the generalized-Euler-constant function and its derivative. As a consequence, we get base $B$ rational series for $\log\frac{4}π,$ $\frac{G}π$ (where $G$ is Catalan's constant), $\frac{ζ'(2)}{π^2}$ and also for logarithms of Somos's and Glaisher-Kinke…
The aim of this paper is twofold. Firstly, we investigate a finite sum involving the generalized falling factorial polynomials, in some special cases of which we express it in terms of the degenerate Stirling numbers of the second kind, the degenerate Bernoulli polynomials and the degenerate Frobenius-Euler polynomials. Secondly, we consider the degenerate Eulerian polynomials and deduce the generating function and a recurrence relation for them.
In this paper, we establish more identities of generalized multi poly-Euler polynomials with three parameters and obtain a kind of symmetrized generalization of the polynomials. Moreover, generalized multi poly-Bernoulli polynomials are defined using multiple polylogarithm and derive some properties parallel to those of poly-Bernoulli polynomials. These are generalized further using the concept of Hurwitz-Lerch multiple zeta values.
Possible transcendental nature of Euler's constant $γ$ has been the focus of study for sometime now. One possible approach is to consider $γ$ not in isolation, but as an element of the infinite family of generalised Euler-Briggs constants. In a recent work \cite{GSS}, it is shown that the infinite list of generalized Euler-Briggs constants can have at most one algebraic number. In this paper, we study the dimension of spaces generated by these generalized Euler-Briggs constants over number fields. More precisely, we obtain non-trivial lower bounds (see \thmref{pre} and \thmref{linear-ind}) on …
In this paper, basing on the linear algebra methods and elementary techniques, for any positive integers $ e $ and $ n $, we obtain a recursion formula for the generalized Euler function $ φ_e(n) $, which is determined by some matrices related to a congruence equation modulo $ e $. Furthermore, through the recursion formula, we get the explicit formula for $ φ_5(n) $. Our results generalize the corresponding results in \cite{A4,A8,A10,A11}.
We give new closed and explicit formulas for "multiple zeta values" at non-positive integers of generalized Euler-Zagier multiple zeta-functions. We first prove these formulas for a small convenient class of these multiple zeta-functions and then use the analyticity of the values on the parameters defining the multiple zeta-functions to deduce the formulas in the general case. Also, for our aim we prove an extension of "Raabe's lemma" due to E. Friedman and A. Pereira.
As a natural generalization of the Euler-Mascheroni constant $γ$, Y. Ihara introduced the Euler-Kronecker constant $γ_K$ attached to any number field $K$. In this paper, we prove that a certain bound on $γ_K$ in a tower of number fields $\mathcal{K}$ implies the generalized Brauer-Siegel conjecture for $\mathcal{K}$ as formulated by Tsfasman and Vlǎduţ. Moreover, we use known bounds on $γ_K$ for cyclotomic fields to obtain a finer estimate for the number of zeros of the Dedekind zeta-function $ζ_K(s)$ in the critical strip.
The generalized group of units of the ring modulo $n$ was first introduced by El-Kassar and Chehade, written as $U^k(Z_n)$. This allows us to formulate a new generalization to the Euler phi function $φ(n)$, that represents the order of $% U^k(Z_n)$ and it is denoted by $φ^{k}(n).$ In this paper, we introduce this newly defined function, where we compute its explicit form and examine some of its properties similar to that of $φ(n)$. In addition, we study some generalized equations involving $φ^{k}(n)$ where complete solution is given for some equations by considering the general case and others…
The purpose of this article is twofold. First, we introduce the constants $ζ_k(α,r,q)$ where $α\in (0,1)$ and study them along the lines of work done on Euler constant in arithmetic progression $γ(r,q)$ by Briggs, Dilcher, Knopfmacher, Lehmer and some other authors. These constants are used for evaluation of certain integrals involving error term for Dirichlet divisor problem with congruence conditions and also to provide a closed form expression for the value of a class of Dirichlet L-series at any real critical point. In the second half of this paper, we consider the behaviour of the Laurent…
This paper has two parts. The first part surveys Euler's work on the constant gamma=0.57721... bearing his name, together with some of his related work on the gamma function, values of the zeta function and divergent series. The second part describes various mathematical developments involving Euler's constant, as well as another constant, the Euler-Gompertz constant. These developments include connections with arithmetic functions and the Riemann hypothesis, and with sieve methods, random permutations and random matrix products. It includes recent results on Diophantine approximation and tran…
In the first part we present results of four ``experimental'' determinations of the Euler-Mascheroni constant $γ$. Next we give new formulas expressing the $γ$ constant in terms of the Ramanujan-Soldner constant $μ$. Employing the cosine integral we obtain the infinity of formulas for $γ$.
In this short note we will use the residue theorem to establish a formula for Euler's constant. In particular, we offer a slightly generalized version of an interesting infinite series due to Flajolet, Gourdon, and Dumas.
In this paper, we establish more properties of generalized poly-Euler polynomials with three parameters and we investigate a kind of symmetrized generalization of poly- Euler polynomials. Moreover, we introduce a more general form of multi poly-Euler polynomials and obtain some identities parallel to those of the generalized poly-Euler polynomials.
Generalization of the Euler polynomials ${{A}_{n}}\left( x \right)={{\left( 1-x \right)}^{n+1}}\sum\nolimits_{m=0}^{\infty }{{{m}^{n}}{{x}^{m}}}$ are the polynomials ${{α}_{n}}\left( x \right)={{\left( 1-x \right)}^{n+1}}\sum\nolimits_{m=0}^{\infty }{{{u}_{n}}}\left( m \right){{x}^{m}}$, where ${{u}_{n}}\left( x \right)$ is the polynomial of degree $n$. These polynomials appear in various fields of mathematics, which causes a variety of methods for their study. In present paper we will consider generalized Euler polynomials as an attribute of the theory of Riordan arrays. From this point of vi…
For a fixed odd prime q we investigate the first and second order terms of the asymptotic series expansion for the number of n\le x such that q does not divide phi(n). Part of the analysis involves a careful study of the Euler-Kronecker constants for cyclotomic fields. In particular, we show that the prime k-tuples conjecture and a conjecture of Ihara about the distribution of these Euler-Kronecker constants cannot be both true.
By integrating a series provided by Knopp, a series representation of the Euler-Mascheroni constant arises. The infinite sum representation of γ is determined through Fourier series (sawtooth wave).
Recently, Dil and Boyadzhiev \cite{AD2015} proved an explicit formula for the sum of multiple harmonic numbers whose indices are the sequence $\left( {{\left\{ 0 \right\}_r},1} \right)$. In this paper we show that the sums of multiple harmonic numbers whose indices are the sequence $\left( {{\left\{ 0 \right\}_r,1};{\left\{ 1 \right\}_{k-1}}} \right)$ can be expressed in terms of (multiple) zeta values, multiple harmonic numbers and Stirling numbers of the first kind, and give an explicit formula.
The generalized hyperharmonic numbers $h_n^{(m)}(k)$ are defined by means of the multiple harmonic numbers. We show that the hyperharmonic numbers $h_n^{(m)}(k)$ satisfy certain recurrence relation which allow us to write them in terms of classical harmonic numbers. Moreover, we prove that the Euler-type sums with hyperharmonic numbers: \[S\left( {k,m;p} \right): = \sum\limits_{n = 1}^\infty {\frac{{h_n^{\left( m \right)}\left( k \right)}}{n^p}} \;\;\left(p\geq m+1,\ {k = 1,2,3} \right)\] can be expressed as a rational linear combination of products of Riemann zeta values and harmonic numbers.…
The goal of this article is twofold. We first extend a result of Murty and Saradha \cite{MS} related to the digamma function at rational arguments. Further, we extend another result of the same authors \cite{MS1} about the nature of $p$-adic Euler-Lehmer constants.
We prove the simultaneous multiplication formulas for Apostol-Bernoulli polynomials and generalized Frobenius-Euler polynomials. These formulas contain Dedekind-Rademacher sums, Apostol-Dedekind sums and Fourier-Dedekind sums.
We calculate the constant term of Coleman power series and use it to prove an analogue of Iwasawa Main Conjecture in function fields of characteristic p>0 using Euler systems. This result is proved by a similar method of classical proof of Iwasawa Main Conjecture, go back to Kolyvagin and Rubin. We construct Euler systems from theta function of Drinfeld modules and establish finite-singular comparison equation even when p is not invertible the coefficients.
This paper is concerned with the generalized Euler polynomial matrix $\E^{(α)}(x)$ and the Euler matrix $\E$. Taking into account some properties of Euler polynomials and numbers, we deduce product formulae for $\E^{(α)}(x)$ and determine the inverse matrix of $\E$. We establish some explicit expressions for the Euler polynomial matrix $\E(x)$, which involving the generalized Pascal, Fibonacci and Lucas matrices, respectively. From these formulae we get some new interesting identities involving Fibonacci and Lucas numbers. Also, we provide some factorizations of the Euler polynomial matrix in …
By applying the p-adic q-Volkenborn Integrals including the bosonic and the fermionic p-adic integrals on p-adic integers, we define generating functions, attached to the Dirichlet character, for the generalized Apostol-Bernoulli numbers and polynomials, the generalized Apostol-Euler numbers and polynomials, generalized Apostol-Daehee numbers and polynomials, and also generalized Apostol-Changhee numbers and polynomials. We investigate some properties of these numbers and polynomials with their generating functions. By using these generating functions and their functional equation, we give som…
The renormalization of MZV was until now carried out by algebraic means. We show that renormalization in general, of the multiple zeta functions in particular, is more than mere convention. We show that simple calculus methods allow us to compute the renormalized values of multiple zeta functions in any dimension for arguments of the form (1,...,1), where the series do not converge. These values happen to be the coefficients of the asymptotic expansion of the inverse Gamma function. We focus on the geometric interpretation of these values, and on the combinatorics their closed form encodes, wh…
We investigate the distribution of large positive (and negative) values of the Euler-Kronecker constant $γ_{\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt D)}$ of the quadratic field $\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{D})$ as $D$ varies over fundamental discriminants $|D|\leq x$. We show that the distribution function of these values is very well approximated by that of an adequate probabilistic random model in a large uniform range. The main tools are an asymptotic formula for the Laplace transform of $γ_{\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt D)}$ together with a careful saddle point analysis.
In this paper, we present two new generalizations of the Euler-Mascheroni constant arising from the Dirichlet series associated to the hyperharmonic numbers. We also give some inequalities related to upper and lower estimates, and evaluation formulas.
The aim of the paper is to relate computational and arithmetic questions about Euler's constant $γ$ with properties of the values of the $q$-logarithm function, with natural choice of $q$. By these means, we generalize a classical formula for $γ$ due to Ramanujan, together with Vacca's and Gosper's series for $γ$, as well as deduce irrationality criteria and tests and new asymptotic formulas for computing Euler's constant. The main tools are Euler-type integrals and hypergeometric series.
In this work, two new series expansions for generalized Euler's constants (Stieltjes constants) $γ_m$ are obtained. The first expansion involves Stirling numbers of the first kind, contains polynomials in $π^{-2}$ with rational coefficients and converges slightly better than Euler's series $\sum n^{-2}$. The second expansion is a semi-convergent series with rational coefficients only. This expansion is particularly simple and involves Bernoulli numbers with a non-linear combination of generalized harmonic numbers. It also permits to derive an interesting estimation for generalized Euler's cons…
We present linear forms with integer coefficients containing the Euler-Mascheroni and Euler-Gompertz constants. The forms are defined by four-terms recurrence relations. Asymptotics of the forms and their coefficients are obtained.
