Extended affine Weyl groups are the Weyl groups of extended affine root systems. Finite presentations for extended affine Weyl groups are known only for nullities $\leq 2$, where for nullity 2 there is only one known such presentation. We give a finite presentation for the class of simply laced extended affine Weyl groups. Our presentation is nullity free if rank $>1$ and for rank 1 it is given for nullities $\leq 3$. The generators and relations are given uniformly for all types, and for a given nullity they can be read from the corresponding finite Cartan matrix and the semilattice involved in the structure of the root system.
We show that every Weyl module for a current algebra has a filtration whose successive quotients are isomorphic to Demazure modules, and that the path model for a tensor product of level zero fundamental representations is isomorphic to a disjoint union of Demazure crystals. Moreover, we show that the Demazure modules appearing in these two objects coincide exactly. Though these results have been previously known in the simply laced case, they are new in the non-simply laced case.
In this paper, we will define the Brauer algebras of Weyl types, and describe some propositions of these algebras. Especially, we prove the result of type $G_2$ to accomplish our project of Brauer algebras of non-simply laced types.
Hecke-Hopf algebras were defined by A. Berenstein and D. Kazhdan. We give an explicit presentation of an Hecke-Hopf algebra when the parameter $m_{ij},$ associated to any two distinct vertices $i$ and $j$ in the presentation of a Coxeter group, equals $4,$ $5$ or $6$. As an application, we give a proof of a conjecture of Berenstein and Kazhdan when the Coxeter group is crystallographic and non-simply-laced. As another application, we show that another conjecture of Berenstein and Kazhdan holds when $m_{ij},$ associated to any two distinct vertices $i$ and $j,$ equals $4$ and that the conjectur…
It is known that there exists an order isomorphism between the Weyl group orbit through a minuscule weight of a simply-laced finite-dimensional simple Lie algebra and the set of all order filters in a self-dual connected d-complete poset. In this paper, we try to extend this fact to the case of multiply-laced finite-dimensional simple Lie algebras by using the "folding" technique with respect to a Dynkin diagram automorphism.
Let W be a Weyl group whose type is a simply laced Dynkin diagram. On several W-orbits of sets of mutually commuting reflections, a poset is described which plays a role in linear representatons of the corresponding Artin group A. The poset generalizes many properties of the usual order on positive roots of W given by height. In this paper, a linear representation of the positive monoid of A is defined by use of the poset.
The diagram algebra introduced by Brauer that describes the centralizer algebra on tensor products of the natural representation of an orthogonal group has a presentation by generators and relations that only depends on the graph of type An on n nodes. Here we describe an algebra depending on an arbitrary graph of type M. We study its structure when the type is An, Dn, E6, E7, E8. We determine the representations and find the dimensions. The algebra is generically semisimple and contains the group algebra of the Coxeter type M as a subalgebra. It is a ring homomorphism of the Birman-Murakami-W…
For simply-laced quivers, we consider the fixed-point subalgebra of the quiver Hecke algebra under the homogeneous sign map. This leads to a new family of algebras we call alternating quiver Hecke algebras. We give a basis theorem and a presentation by generators and relations which is strikingly similar to the KLR presentation for quiver Hecke algebras.
We study the Weyl groups of hyperbolic Kac-Moody algebras of `over-extended' type and ranks 3, 4, 6 and 10, which are intimately linked with the four normed division algebras K=R,C,H,O, respectively. A crucial role is played by integral lattices of the division algebras and associated discrete matrix groups. Our findings can be summarized by saying that the even subgroups, W^+, of the Kac-Moody Weyl groups, W, are isomorphic to generalized modular groups over K for the simply laced algebras, and to certain finite extensions thereof for the non-simply laced algebras. This hints at an extended t…
This paper is a sequel to work of Dynkin on subroot lattices of root lattices and to work of Carter on presentations of Weyl group elements as products of reflections. The quotients $L/L_1$ are calculated for all irreducible root lattices $L$ and all subroot lattices $L_1$. The reduced (i.e. those with minimal number of reflections) presentations of Weyl group elements as products of arbitrary reflections are classified. Also nonreduced presentations are studied. Quasi Coxeter elements and strict quasi Coxeter elements are defined and classified. An application to extended affine root lattices…
Let $G$ be a connected reductive group over a non-archimedean local field $F$ and $I$ be an Iwahori subgroup of $G(F)$. Let $I_n$ is the $n$-th Moy-Prasad filtration subgroup of $I$. The purpose of this paper is two-fold: to give some nice presentations of the Hecke algebra of connected, reductive groups with $I_n$-level structure; and to introduce the Tits group of the Iwahori-Weyl group of groups $G$ that split over an unramified extension of $F$. The first main result of this paper is a presentation of the Hecke algebra $\mathcal H(G(F),I_n)$, generalizing the previous work of Iwahori-Matsu…
Tits has defined Kac-Moody and Steinberg groups over commutative rings, providing infinite dimensional analogues of the Chevalley-Demazure group schemes. Here we establish simple explicit presentations for all Steinberg and Kac-Moody groups whose Dynkin diagrams are hyperbolic and simply laced. Our presentations are analogues of the Curtis-Tits presentation of the finite groups of Lie type. When the ground ring is finitely generated, we derive the finite presentability of the Steinberg group, and similarly for the Kac-Moody group when the ground ring is a Dedekind domain of arithmetic type. Th…
We establish the existence of Demazure flags for graded local Weyl modules for hyper current algebras in positive characteristic. If the underlying simple Lie algebra is simply laced, the flag has length one, i.e., the graded local Weyl modules are isomorphic to Demazure modules. This extends to the positive characteristic setting results of Fourier-Littelmann and Naoi for current algebras in characteristic zero. Using this result, we prove that the character of local Weyl modules for hyper loop algebras depend only on the highest weight, but not on the (algebraically closed) ground field, and…
The quiver Hecke algebra $R$ can be also understood as a generalization of the affine Hecke algebra of type $A$ in the context of the quantum affine Schur-Weyl duality by the results of Kang, Kashiwara and Kim. On the other hand, it is well-known that the Auslander-Reiten(AR) quivers $Γ_Q$ of finite simply-laced types have a deep relation with the positive roots systems of the corresponding types. In this paper, we present explicit combinatorial descriptions for the AR-quivers $Γ_Q$ of finite type $A$. Using the combinatorial descriptions, we can investigate relations between finite dimensiona…
In the present paper we introduce a quantum analogue of the classical folding of a simply-laced Lie algebra g to the non-simply-laced algebra g^sigma along a Dynkin diagram automorphism sigma of g For each quantum folding we replace g^sigma by its Langlands dual g^sigma^v and construct a nilpotent Lie algebra n which interpolates between the nilpotnent parts of g and (g^sigma)^v, together with its quantized enveloping algebra U_q(n) and a Poisson structure on S(n). Remarkably, for the pair (g, (g^sigma)^v)=(so_{2n+2},sp_{2n}), the algebra U_q(n) admits an action of the Artin braid group Br_n a…
Using vertex operators, we construct explicitly Lusztig's $\mathbb Z[q, q^{-1}]$-lattice for the level one irreducible representations of quantum affine algebras of ADE type. We then realize the level one irreducible modules at roots of unity and show that the q-dimension is still given by the Weyl-Kac character formula. As a consequence we also answer the corresponding question of realizing the affine Kac-Moody Lie algebras of simply laced type at level one in finite characteristic.
Let $W$ be an Iwahori Weyl group and $W(1)$ be an extension of $W$ by an abelian group. Vigneras gave a description of the $R$-algebra $\mathcal{H}_R(q_{\tilde{s}}, c_{\tilde{s}})$ associated to $W(1)$, and also gave a basis of the center of $\mathcal{H}_R(q_{\tilde{s}}, c_{\tilde{s}})$ using the Bernstein presentation of $\mathcal{H}_R(q_{\tilde{s}}, c_{\tilde{s}})$. In this paper, we restrict to the case where $q_{\tilde{s}}=0$ and use the Iwahori-Matsumoto presentation to give a basis of the center of $\mathcal{H}_R(0, c_{\tilde{s}})$.
We investigate the structure of the double Ringel-Hall algebras associated with cyclic quivers and its connections with quantum loop algebras of $\mathfrak{gl}_n$, affine quantum Schur algebras and affine Hecke algebras. This includes their Drinfeld-Jimbo type presentation, affine quantum Schur-Weyl reciprocity, representations of affine quantum Schur algebras, and connections with various existing works by Lusztig, Varagnolo-Vasserot, Schiffmann, Hubery, Chari-Pressley, Frenkel-Mukhin, etc. We will also discuss conjectures on a realization of Beilinson-Lusztig-MacPherson type and Lusztig type…
For an element $w$ of the simply-laced Weyl group, Buan-Iyama-Reiten-Scott defined a subcategory $\mathcal{F}(w)$ of a module category over a preprojective algebra of Dynkin type. This paper aims at studying categorical properties of $\mathcal{F}(w)$ via its connection with the root system. We show that by taking dimension vectors, simple objects in $\mathcal{F}(w)$ bijectively correspond to Bruhat inversion roots of $w$. As an application, we obtain a combinatorial criterion for $\mathcal{F}(w)$ to satisfy the Jordan-Hölder property (JHP). To achieve this, we develop a method to find simple o…
We prove the Weyl denominator identity for the affine Lie superalgebra gl(2|2)^ conjectured by V. Kac and M. Wakimoto. As it was pointed out in their paper, this gives another proof of Jacobi identity for the number of presentations of a given integer as a sum of eight squares.
Let g be a simple Lie algebra, with fixed Borel subalgebra b and with Weyl group W. Expanding on previous work of Fan and Stembridge in the simply laced case, this note aims to study the fully commutative elements of W, and their connections with the spherical nilpotent orbits in g. If g is not of type G_2, it is shown that an element w in W is fully commutative if and only if the subalgebra of b determined by the inversions of w lies in the closure of a spherical nilpotent orbit. A similar characterization is also given for the ad-nilpotent ideals of b, which are parametrized by suitable elem…
The standard Poisson structure on the rectangular matrix variety M_{m,n}(C) is investigated, via the orbits of symplectic leaves under the action of the maximal torus T of GL_{m+n}(C). These orbits, finite in number, are shown to be smooth irreducible locally closed subvarieties of M_{m,n}(C), isomorphic to intersections of dual Schubert cells in the full flag variety of GL_{m+n}(C). Three different presentations of the T-orbits of symplectic leaves in M_{m,n}(C) are obtained - (a) as pullbacks of Bruhat cells in GL_{m+n}(C) under a particular map; (b) in terms of rank conditions on rectangula…
For a simply laced and hyperbolic Kac--Moody group $G=G(R)$ over a commutative ring $R$ with 1, we consider a map from a finite presentation of $G(R)$ obtained by Allcock and Carbone to a representation--theoretic construction $G^λ(R)$ corresponding to an integrable representation $V^λ$ with dominant integral weight $λ$. When $R=\Z$, we prove that this map extends to a group homomorphism $ρ_{λ,\Z}: G(\Z) \to G^λ(\Z).$ We prove that the kernel $K^λ$ of the map $ρ_{\lam,\Z}: G(\Z)\to G^{\lam}(\Z)$ lies in $H(\C)$ and if the group homomorphism $φ:G(\Z)\to G(\C)$ is injective, then $K^λ\leq H(\Z)\…
We investigate the characters of some finite-dimensional representations of the quantum affine algebras $U_q(\hat{g})$ using the action of the copy of $U_q(g)$ embedded in it. First, we present an efficient algorithm for computing the Kirillov-Reshetikhin conjectured formula for these characters when $g$ is simply-laced. This replaces the original formulation, in terms of "rigged configurations", with one based on polygonal paths in the Weyl chamber. It also gives a new algorithm for decomposing a tensor product of any number of representations of $sl(n)$ corresponding to rectangular Young dia…
The Schur-Weyl duality, which started as the study of the commuting actions of the symmetric group $S_d$ and $\mathrm{GL}(n,\mathbb{C})$ on $V^{\otimes d}$ where $V=\mathbb{C}^n$, was extended by Drinfeld and Jimbo to the context of the finite Iwahori-Hecke algebra $H_d(q^2)$ and quantum algebras $U_q(\mathrm{gl}(n))$, on using universal $R$-matrices, which solve the Yang-Baxter equation. There were two extensions of this duality in the Hecke-quantum case: to the affine case, by Chari and Pressley, and to the super case, by Moon and by Mitsuhashi. We complete this chain of works by completing …
The normalizer $N_G(H_G)$ of a maximal torus $H_G$ in a semisimple complex Lie group $G$ does not in general allow a presentation as a semidirect product of $H_G$ and the corresponding Weyl group $W_G$. Meanwhile, splitting holds for classical groups corresponding to the root systems $A_\ell$, $B_\ell$, $D_\ell$. For the remaining classical groups corresponding to the root systems $C_\ell$ there still exists an embedding of the Tits extension of $W_G$ into normalizer $N_G(H_G)$. We provide explicit unified construction of the lifts of the Weyl groups into normalizers of maximal tori for classi…
For a complex finite-dimensional simple Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$, we introduce the notion of Q-datum, which generalizes the notion of a Dynkin quiver with a height function from the viewpoint of Weyl group combinatorics. Using this notion, we develop a unified theory describing the twisted Auslander-Reiten quivers and the twisted adapted classes introduced in [O.-Suh, J. Algebra, 2019] with an appropriate notion of the generalized Coxeter elements. As a consequence, we obtain a combinatorial formula expressing the inverse of the quantum Cartan matrix of $\mathfrak{g}$, which generalizes the …
Given a complex connected reductive Lie group $G$ with a maximal torus $H\subset G$, Tits defined an extension $W_G^T$ of the corresponding Weyl group $W_G$. The extended group is supplied with an embedding into the normalizer $N_G(H)$, such that $W_G^T$ together with $H$ generate $N_G(H)$. In this paper we propose an interpretation of the Tits classical construction in terms of the maximal split real form $G(\mathbb{R})\subset G$, which leads to the simple topological description of $W^T_G$. We also consider a variation of the Tits construction associated with compact real form $U$ of $G$. In…
