In the present paper we introduce a quantum analogue of the classical folding of a simply-laced Lie algebra g to the non-simply-laced algebra g^sigma along a Dynkin diagram automorphism sigma of g For each quantum folding we replace g^sigma by its Langlands dual g^sigma^v and construct a nilpotent Lie algebra n which interpolates between the nilpotnent parts of g and (g^sigma)^v, together with its quantized enveloping algebra U_q(n) and a Poisson structure on S(n). Remarkably, for the pair (g, (g^sigma)^v)=(so_{2n+2},sp_{2n}), the algebra U_q(n) admits an action of the Artin braid group Br_n and contains a new algebra of quantum n x n matrices with an adjoint action of U_q(sl_n), which generalizes the algebras constructed by K. Goodearl and M. Yakimov in [12]. The hardest case of quantum folding is, quite expectably, the pair (so_8,G_2) for which the PBW presentation of U_q(n) and the corresponding Poisson bracket on S(n) contain more than 700 terms each.
The T-systems and Y-systems are classes of algebraic relations originally associated with quantum affine algebras and Yangians. Recently they were generalized to quantum affinizations of quantum Kac-Moody algebras associated with a wide class of generalized Cartan matrices which we say tamely laced. Furthermore, in the simply laced case, and also in the nonsimply laced case of finite type, they were identified with relations arising from cluster algebras. In this note we generalize such an identification to any tamely laced Cartan matrices, especially to the nonsimply laced ones of nonfinite t…
We establish, for all simply laced types, a q,t-character formula, first conjectured by Nakajima. It relates, on one hand, the structure of the $\ell$-weight spaces of standard modules regarded as modules over the Heisenberg subalgebra of some quantum affine algebra and, on the other hand, the t-dependence of their q,t-characters, as originally defined in terms of the Poincaré polynomials of certain Lagrangian subvarieties in quiver varieties of the corresponding simply laced type. Our proof is essentially geometric and generalizes to arbitrary simply laced types earlier representation theoret…
We establish a quantum cluster algebra structure on the quantum Grothendieck ring of a certain monoidal subcategory of the category of finite-dimensional representations of a simply-laced quantum affine algebra. Moreover, the (q,t)-characters of certain irreducible representations, among which fundamental representations, are obtained as quantum cluster variables. This approach gives a new algorithm to compute these (q,t)-characters. As an application, we prove that the quantum Grothendieck ring of a larger category of representations of the Borel subalgebra of the quantum affine algebra, defi…
We construct the positive principal series representations for $\mathcal{U}_q(\mathfrak{g}_\mathbb{R})$ where $\mathfrak{g}$ is of simply-laced type, parametrized by $\mathbb{R}_{\geq 0}^r$ where $r$ is the rank of $\mathfrak{g}$. We describe explicitly the actions of the generators in the positive representations as positive essentially self-adjoint operators on a Hilbert space, and prove the transcendental relations between the generators of the modular double. We define the modified quantum group $\mathbf{U}_{\mathfrak{q}\tilde{\mathfrak{q}}}(\mathfrak{g}_\mathbb{R})$ of the modular double …
Nakajima introduced the morphism of q,t-characters for finite dimensional representation of simply-laced quantum affine algebras : it is a t-deformation of the Frenkel-Reshetikhin's morphism of q-characters (sum of monomials in infinite variables). In math.QA/0212257 we generalized the construction of q,t-characters for non simply-laced quantum affine algebras. First in this paper we prove a conjecture of math.QA/0212257 : the monomials of q and q,t-characters of standard representations are the same in non simply-laced cases (the simply-laced cases were treated by Nakajima) and the coefficien…
We construct the positive principal series representations for $U_q(g_R)$ where $g$ is of type $B_n$, $C_n$, $F_4$ or $G_2$, parametrized by $R^r$ where $r$ is the rank of $g$. We show that under the representations, the generators of the Langlands dual group $U_{\tilde{q}}({}^Lg_R)$ are related to the generators of $U_q(g_R)$ by the transcendental relations. We define the modified quantum group of the modular double and show that the representations of both parts of the modular double commute with each other, and there is an embedding into the $q$-tori polynomials.
In this paper, we seek to prove the equality of the $q$-graded fermionic sums conjectured by Hatayama et al. in its full generality, by extending the results of Di Francesco and Kedem to the non-simply laced case. To this end, we will derive explicit expressions for the quantum $Q$-system relations, which are quantum cluster mutations that correspond to the classical $Q$-system relations, and write the identity of the $q$-graded fermionic sums as a constant term identity. As an application, we will show that these quantum $Q$-system relations are consistent with the short exact sequence of the…
Let $U_q'(\mathfrak{g})$ be a quantum affine algebra with an indeterminate $q$ and let $\mathscr{C}_{\mathfrak{g}}$ be the category of finite-dimensional integrable $U_q'(\mathfrak{g})$-modules. We write $\mathscr{C}_{\mathfrak{g}}^0$ for the monoidal subcategory of $\mathscr{C}_{\mathfrak{g}}$ introduced by Hernandez-Leclerc. In this paper, we associate a simply-laced finite type root system to each quantum affine algebra $U_q'(\mathfrak{g})$ in a natural way, and show that the block decompositions of $\mathscr{C}_{\mathfrak{g}}$ and $\mathscr{C}_{\mathfrak{g}}^0$ are parameterized by the lat…
We prove that the Grothendieck rings of category $\mathcal{C}^{(t)}_Q$ over quantum affine algebras $U_q'(\g^{(t)})$ $(t=1,2)$ associated to each Dynkin quiver $Q$ of finite type $A_{2n-1}$ (resp. $D_{n+1}$) is isomorphic to one of category $\mathcal{C}_{\mQ}$ over the Langlands dual $U_q'({^L}\g^{(2)})$ of $U_q'(\g^{(2)})$ associated to any twisted adapted class $[\mQ]$ of $A_{2n-1}$ (resp. $D_{n+1}$). This results provide partial answers of conjectures of Frenkel-Hernandez on Langlands duality for finite-dimensional representation of quantum affine algebras.
We will exhibit a group of symmetries of the simply-laced quantum connections, generalising the quantum/Howe duality relating KZ and the Casimir connection. These symmetries arise as a quantisation of the classical symmetries of the simply-laced isomonodromy systems, which in turn generalise the Harnad duality. The quantisation of the classical symmetries involves constructing the quantum Hamiltonian reduction of the representation variety of any simply-laced quiver, both in filtered and in deformation quantisation.
We put forward the exact version of two-parameter generating functions with $τ$-invariance, which allows us to give a unified and inherent definition for the Drinfeld realization of two-parameter quantum affine algebras for all the untwisted types. As verification, we first construct their level-one vertex representations of $U_{r,s}(\widehat{\mathfrak{g}})$ for simply-laced types, which in turn well-detect the effectiveness of our definitions both for $(r,s)$-generating functions and $(r,s)$-Drinfeld realization in the framework of establishing the two-parameter vertex representation theory.
The geometric small property (Borho-MacPherson) of projective morphisms implies a description of their singularities in terms of intersection homology. In this paper we solve the smallness problem raised by Nakajima (math.QA/0105173) for certain resolutions of quiver varieties (analogs of the Springer resolution) : for Kirillov-Reshetikhin modules of simply-laced quantum affine algebras, we characterize explicitly the Drinfeld polynomials corresponding to the small resolutions. We use an elimination theorem for monomials of Frenkel-Reshetikhin q-characters that we establish for non necessarily…
We construct a new family of flat connections generalising the KZ connection, the Casimir connection and the dynamical connection. These new connections are attached to simply-laced graphs, and are obtained via quantisation of time-dependent Hamiltonian systems controlling the isomonodromic deformations of meromorphic connections on the sphere.
Let Uq(ghat) be the quantum affine algebra associated to a simply-laced simple Lie algebra g. We examine the relationship between Dorey's rule, which is a geometrical statement about Coxeter orbits of g-weights, and the structure of q-characters of fundamental representations V_{i,a} of Uq(ghat). In particular, we prove, without recourse to the ADE classification, that the rule provides a necessary and sufficient condition for the monomial 1 to appear in the q-character of a three-fold tensor product V_{i,a} x V_{j,b} x V_{k,c}.
In this paper we generalize Drinfeld's twisted quantum affine algebras to construct twisted quantum algebras for all simply-laced generalized Cartan matrices and present their vertex representation realizations.
Frenkel and Reshetikhin introduced q-characters to study finite dimensional representations of quantum affine algebras. In the simply laced case Nakajima defined deformations of q-characters called q,t-characters. The definition is combinatorial but the proof of the existence uses the geometric theory of quiver varieties which holds only in the simply laced case. In this article we propose an algebraic general (non necessarily simply laced) new approach to q,t-characters motivated by our deformed screening operators. The t-deformations are naturally deduced from the structure of the quantum af…
We assess the ODE/IM correspondence for the quantum $\mathfrak{g}$-KdV model, for a non-simply laced Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$. This is done by studying a meromorphic connection with values in the Langlands dual algebra of the affine Lie algebra ${\mathfrak{g}}^{(1)}$, and constructing the relevant $Ψ$-system among subdominant solutions. We then use the $Ψ$-system to prove that the generalized spectral determinants satisfy the Bethe Ansatz equations of the quantum $\mathfrak{g}$-KdV model. We also consider generalized Airy functions for twisted Kac--Moody algebras and we construct new explici…
Let ${\mathbf U}^-_q$ be the negative half of the quantum group associated to a Kac-Moody algebra ${\mathfrak g}$, and $\underline{\mathbf U}^-_q$ the quantum group obtained by a folding of ${\mathfrak g}$. Let ${\mathbf A} = {\mathbf Z}[q,q^{-1}]$. McNamara showed that $\underline{\mathbf U}^-_q$ is categorified over a certain extenion ring $\widetilde{\mathbf A}$ of ${\mathbf A}$, by uing the folding theory of KLR algebras. He posed a question whether $\widetilde{\mathbf A}$ coincides with ${\mathbf A}$ or not. In this paper, we give an affirmative answer for this problem.

Assuming the existence of the perfect crystal bases of Kirillov-Reshetikhin modules over simply-laced quantum affine algebras, we construct certain perfect crystals for twisted quantum affine algebras, and also provide compelling evidence that the constructed crystals are isomorphic to the conjectural crystal bases of Kirillov-Reshetikhin modules over twisted quantum affine algebras.
Let g be a semi-simple Lie algebra. In this paper we study the spaces of based quasi-maps from the projective line P^1 to the flag variety of g (it is well-known that their singularities are supposed to model the singularities of the so called semi-infinite Schubert varieties which are hard to define directly). In the first part of the paper we show that the above spaces are normal and in the case when g is simply laced they are also Gorenstein and have rational singularities. In the second part of the paper we compute the character of the ring of functions on the above spaces; in view of the …
We give a proof of the cyclicity conjecture of Akasaka-Kashiwara, for simply laced types, via quiver varieties. We get also an algebraic characterization of the standard modules.
Let C be the category of finite-dimensional representations of a quantum affine algebra of simply-laced type. We introduce certain monoidal subcategories C_l (l integer) of C and we study their Grothendieck rings using cluster algebras.
The q-characters were introduced by Frenkel and mReshetikhin to study finite dimensional representations of the untwisted quantum affine algebra for q generic. The $ε$-characters at roots of unity were constructed by Frenkel and Mukhin to study finite dimensional representations of various specializations of the quantum affine algebra at $q^s=1$. In the finite simply laced case Nakajima defined deformations of q-characters called q,t-characters, for q generic and also at roots of unity. The definition is combinatorial but the proof of the existence uses the geometric theory of quiver varieties…
We prove an explicit inverse Chevalley formula in the equivariant $K$-theory of semi-infinite flag manifolds of simply-laced type. By an inverse Chevalley formula, we mean a formula for the product of an equivariant scalar with a Schubert class, expressed as a $\mathbb{Z}[q^{\pm 1}]$-linear combination of Schubert classes twisted by equivariant line bundles. Our formula applies to arbitrary Schubert classes in semi-infinite flag manifolds of simply-laced type and equivariant scalars $e^λ$, where $λ$ is an arbitrary minuscule weight. By a result of Stembridge, our formula completely determines …
We introduce two-parameter quantum toroidal algebras of simply laced types and provide their group theoretic realization using finite subgroups of $SL_2(\mathbb C)$ via McKay correspondence. In particular our construction contains a realization of the vertex representation of the two-parameter quantum affine algebras of $ADE$ types.
Kirillov and Reshetikhin conjectured what is now known as the fermionic formula for the decomposition of tensor products of certain finite dimensional modules over quantum affine algebras. This formula can also be extended to the case of $q$-deformations of tensor product multiplicities as recently conjectured by Hatayama et al. (math.QA/9812022 and math.QA/0102113). In its original formulation it is difficult to compute the fermionic formula efficiently. Kleber (q-alg/9611032 and math.QA/9809087) found an algorithm for the simply-laced algebras which overcomes this problem. We present a metho…
We define a quantum analogue of the Grothendieck ring of finite dimensional modules of a quantum affine algebra of simply laced type. The construction is based on perverse sheaves on a variety related to quivers. We get also a new geometric construction of the tensor category of finite dimensional modules of a finite dimensional simple Lie algebra of type A-D-E.
We introduce a twisted quantum affine algebra associated to each simply laced finite dimensional simple Lie algebra. This new algebra is a Hopf algebra with a Drinfeld-type comultiplication. We obtain this algebra by considering its vertex representation. The vertex representation quantizes the twisted vertex operators of Lepowsky-Wilson and Frenkel-Lepowsky-Meurman. We also introduce a twisted quantum loop algebra for the Kac-Moody case and give its level one representation.
Let $U$ be a quantized enveloping algebra. We consider the adjoint action of an $\mathfrak{sl}_2$-subalgebra of $U$ on a subalgebra of $U^+$ that is maximal integrable for this action. We categorify this representation in the context of quiver Hecke algebras. We obtain an action of the 2-category associated with $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ on a category of modules over certain quotients of quiver Hecke algebras. Our approach is similar to that of Kang-Kashiwara for categorifications of highest weight modules via cyclotomic quiver Hecke algebras. One of the main new features is a compatibility of the cat…
We study deformations of cluster algebras with several quantum parameters, called toroidal cluster algebras, which naturally appear in the study of Grothendieck rings of representations of quantum affine algebras. In this context, we construct toroidal Grothendieck rings and we establish these are flat deformations of Grothendieck rings. We prove that for a family of monoidal categories $\mathscr{C}_1$ of simply-laced quantum affine algebras categorifying finite-type cluster algebras, the toroidal Grothendieck ring has a natural structure of a toroidal cluster algebra.
The T-systems and Y-systems are classes of algebraic relations originally associated with quantum affine algebras and Yangians. Recently the T-systems were generalized to quantum affinizations of a wide class of quantum Kac-Moody algebras by Hernandez. In this note we introduce the corresponding Y-systems and establish a relation between T and Y-systems. We also introduce the T and Y-systems associated with a class of cluster algebras, which include the former T and Y-systems of simply laced type as special cases.
In this note we give explicit isomorphisms of 2-categories between various versions of the categorified quantum group associated to a simply-laced Kac-Moody algebra. These isomorphisms are convenient when working with the categorified quantum group. They make it possible to translate results from the gl(n) variant of the 2-category to the sl(n) variant and transfer results between various conventions in the literature. We also extend isomorphisms of finite type KLR algebras for different choices of parameters to the level of 2-categories.
With slight modifications in the zero modes contributions, the positive and negative screening currents for the quantum deformed W-algebra W_{q,p}(g) can be put together to form a single algebra which can be regarded as an elliptic deformation of the universal enveloping algebra of \hat{g}, where g is any classical simply-laced Lie algebra.
A two-parameter quantum deformation of the affine Lie super algebra $osp(2|2)^{(2)}$ is introduced and studied in some detail. This algebra is the first example associated with nonsimply-laced and twisted root systems of a quantum current algebra with the structure of a so-called infinite Hopf family of (super)algebras. A representation of this algebra at $c=1$ is realized in the product Fock space of two commuting sets of Heisenberg algebras.
$Q$-systems are recursion relations satisfied by the characters of the restrictions of special finite-dimensional modules of quantum affine algebras. They can also be viewed as mutations in certain cluster algebras, which have a natural quantum deformation. In this paper, we explain the relation in the simply-laced case between the resulting quantum $Q$-systems and the graded tensor product of Feigin and Loktev. We prove the graded version of the $M=N$ identities, and write expressions for these as non-commuting evaluated multi-residues of suitable products of solutions of the quantum $Q$-syst…
We formulate a two-parameter generalization of the geometric Langlands correspondence, which we prove for all simply-laced Lie algebras. It identifies the q-conformal blocks of the quantum affine algebra and the deformed W-algebra associated to two Langlands dual Lie algebras. Our proof relies on recent results in quantum K-theory of the Nakajima quiver varieties. The physical origin of the correspondence is the 6d little string theory. The quantum Langlands correspondence emerges in the limit in which the 6d string theory becomes the 6d conformal field theory with (2,0) supersymmetry.
The quiver Hecke algebra $R$ can be also understood as a generalization of the affine Hecke algebra of type $A$ in the context of the quantum affine Schur-Weyl duality by the results of Kang, Kashiwara and Kim. On the other hand, it is well-known that the Auslander-Reiten(AR) quivers $Γ_Q$ of finite simply-laced types have a deep relation with the positive roots systems of the corresponding types. In this paper, we present explicit combinatorial descriptions for the AR-quivers $Γ_Q$ of finite type $A$. Using the combinatorial descriptions, we can investigate relations between finite dimensiona…
Let ${\mathbf U}_q^-$ be the negative part of the quantum enveloping algebra, and $σ$ the algebra automorphism on ${\mathbf U}_q^-$ induced from a diagram automorphism. Let $\underline{\mathbf U}_q^-$ be the quantum algebra obtained from $σ$, and $\widetilde{\mathbf B}$ (resp. $\widetilde{\underline{\mathbf B}}$) the canonical signed basis of ${\mathbf U}_q^-$ (resp. $\underline{\mathbf U}_q^-$). Assume that ${\mathbf U}_q^-$ is simply-laced of finite or affine type. In our previous papers [SZ1, 2], we have proved by an elementary method, that there exists a natural bijection $\widetilde{\math…
We discuss a discretization of the quantum Toda field theory associated with a semisimple finite-dimensional Lie algebra or a tamely-laced infinite-dimensional Kac-Moody algebra $G$, generalizing the previous construction of discrete quantum Liouville theory for the case $G=A_1$. The model is defined on a discrete two-dimensional lattice, whose spatial direction is of length $L$. In addition we also find a "discretized extra dimension" whose width is given by the rank $r$ of $G$, which decompactifies in the large $r$ limit. For the case of $G=A_N$ or $A_{N-1}^{(1)}$, we find a symmetry exchang…
