We formulate the notion of the Finsleroid--Finsler space, including the positive--definite as well as indefinite cases. The associated concepts of angle, scalar product, and the distance function are elucidated. If the Finsleroid--Finsler space is of Landsberg type, then the Finsleroid charge is a constant. The Finsleroid--Finsler space proves to be a Berwald space if and only if the Finsleroid--axis 1-form is parallel with respect to the associated Riemannian metric and, simultaneously, the Finsleroid charge is a constant. The necessary and sufficient conditions for the Finsleroid--Finsler space to be of the Landsberg type are found, which are explicit and simple. The structure of the associated curvature tensors has been elucidated.
By performing required evaluations, we show that in the Finsleroid-regular space the Landsberg-space condition just degenerates to the Berwald-space condition (at any dimension number $N\ge2$). Simple and clear expository representations are obtained. Due comparisons with the Finsleroid-Finsler space are indicated. Keywords: Finsler metrics, spray coefficients, curvature tensors.
In the previous work, the notion of the Finsleroid--Finsler space have been formulated and the necessary and sufficient conditions for the space to be of the Landsberg type have been found. The Finsleroid--Finsler space becomes regular when the norm $||b||=c$ of the input 1-form $b$ is taken to be an arbitrary positive scalar $c(x) < 1$. By performing required direct evaluations, the respective spray coefficients have been obtained in a simple and transparent form. The adequate continuation into the regular pseudo-Finsleroid domain has been indicated. The Finsleroid-regular Berwald space is found under the assumptions that the Finsleroid charge is a constant and the 1-form $b$ is parallel. In this paper, we study the long existence problem of non Berwaldian Landsberg spaces using the conformal transformation point of view. Under conformal transformation, the Berwald and Landesberg tensors are calculated in terms of the T-tensor. By giving examples, we show that under conformal transformation, there are Landsberg spaces with non-vanishing T-tensor. A necessary condition for a Landsberg space to be Berwaldian is given. In this paper, we study the complex Landsberg spaces and some of their important subclasses. We introduce and characterize the class of generalized Berwald and complex Landsberg spaces. The intersection of these spaces gives the so called $G-$ Landsberg class.
The Berwald-Landsberg problem is considered for two dimensional manifolds. We sketch the proof that there are not $\mathcal{C}^5$-regular $y$-global pure Landsberg surfaces. The method used consists on considerer the holonomy representation of the averaged Chern connection and then exhausting all the possible cases, showing that in dimension 2 Landsberg condition implies Berwald condition.
Finsleroid-Finsler metrics form an important class of singular (y-local) Finslerian metrics. They were introduced by G. S. Asanov in 2006. As a special case Asanov produced examples of Landsberg spaces of dimension at least three that are not of Berwald type. These are called Unicorns [5]. The existence of regular (y - global) Landsberg metrics that are not of Berwald type is an open problem up to this day. The problem of conformal transformation and conformal flatness of Finsler spaces has been studied by so many researchers $\left[ 6,16,17,20,21\right] .$ Recently, Prasad et. al $\left[ 19\right] $ have studied three dimensional conformally flat Landsberg and Berwald spaces and have given some important results. The purpose of the present paper is to extend the idea of conformal change to four dimensional Finsler spaces and find the suitable conditions under which a four dimensional conformally flat Landsberg space becomes a Berwald space.
The Finsleroid--induced scalar product, and hence the angle, proves to remain unchanged under the Finsleroid--type parallel transportation of involved vectors in the Landsberg case. The two--vector extension of the Finsleroid metric tensor is proposed.
Given a Finsler space (M,F), one can define natural average Riemannian metrics on M by averaging on the indicatrix I_x the fundamental tensor g of the Finsler function $F$. In this paper we determine explicitly the Levi-Civita connection for these average Riemannian metrics. We apply the result to the case when (M,F) is a Landsberg space. Using a particular averaging procedure, the invariance of the average metric along a homotopy in the space of Finsler structures over M is shown. As a consequence of such invariance, we prove that any C^5 regular Landsberg space is a Berwald space.

In this paper, as an application of the inverse problem of calculus of variations, we investigate two compatibility conditions on the spherically symmetric Finsler metrics. By making use of these conditions, we focus our attention on the Landsberg spherically symmetric Finsler metrics. We classify all spherically symmetric manifolds of Landsberg or Berwald types. It is still a long-standing open problem in Finsler geometry, is there any regular Landsberg metric which is not Berwaldian. However, there are non-regular Landsberg metrics which are not Berwladian. The known examples are established by G. S. Asanov and Z. Shen. In this paper, we use the Maple program to study some explicit examples of non-Berwaldian Landsberg metrics. In this paper, we study left invariant conic Finsler metrics on the 2-dimensional non-Abelian Lie group $G$ with nowhere vanishing spray vector fields, and classify those satisfying the constant curvature condition, the Landsberg condition or the Berwald condition respectively. We prove that any left invariant conic Landsberg metric on $G$ must be Berwald. This discovery enable us to propose a homogeneous conic Landsberg Conjecture, which guesses that every homogeneous conic Landsberg metric is Berwald, and prove the 2-dimensional case for it.

In this short paper, we prove that a Finsler manifold with vanishing Berwald scalar curvature has zero $\mathbf{E}$-curvature. As a consequence, Landsberg manifolds with vanishing Berwald scalar curvature are Berwald manifolds. This improves a previous result in \cite{Li}. For $(α,β)$-metrics on manifold of dimension greater than 2, if the mean Landsberg curvature and the Berwald scalar curvature both vanish, the Berwald curvature also vanishes.
We show that there are not pure $\mathcal{C}^5$ regular y-global Landsberg surfaced. The proof is based on the averaged connection associated with the linear Chern's connection and the classification of irreducibles holonomies of torsion-free affine connections. The structure consists on exausting all the possible cases and showing that in dimension 2 Landsberg condition implies Berwald condition.
In this paper, we consider doubly warped product (DWP) Finsler manifolds with some non-Riemannian curvature properties. First, we study Berwald and isotropic mean Berwald DWP-Finsler manifolds. Then we prove that every proper Douglas DWP-Finsler manifold is Riemannian. We show that a proper DWP-manifold is Landsbergian if and only it is Berwaldian. In this paper, we study a class of Finsler metrics which contains the class of Berwald metrics as a special case. We prove that every Finsler metric in this class is a generalized Douglas-Weyl metric. Then we study isotropic flag curvature Finsler metrics in this class. Finally we show that on this class of Finsler metrics, the notion of Landsberg and weakly Landsberg curvature are equivalent.
In this paper, we study general $(α,β)$-metrics which $α$ is a Riemannian metric and $β$ is an one-form. We have proven that every weak Landsberg general $(α,β)$-metric is a Berwald metric, where $β$ is a closed and conformal one-form. This show that there exist no generalized unicorn metric in this class of general $(α,β)$-metric. Further, We show that $F$ is a Landsberg general $(α,β)$-metric if and only if it is weak Landsberg general $(α,β)$-metric, where $β$ is a closed and conformal one-form.
We show that which that for a Berwald structure, any Riemannian structure that is preserved by the Berwald connection leaves the indicatrix invariant under horizontal parallel transport. We show that, for Finsler spaces with cubic metric, Landsberg spaces are Berwaldian. Also, for decomposable metrics, we determine specific conditions for a space with cubic metric to be of Berwald type, thus refining the result in [6].
In this paper, we define some non-Riemannian curvature properties for Cartan spaces. We consider Cartan space with the m-th root metric. We prove that every m-th root Cartan space of isotropic Landsberg curvature, or isotropic mean Landsberg curvature, or isotropic mean Berwald curvature reduces to a Landsberg, weakly Landsberg and weakly Berwald space, respectively. Then we show that m-th root Cartan space of almost vanishing H-curvature satisfies H = 0.
The pseudo-Finsleroid relativistic metric was constructed upon assuming that the involved vector field $b_i$ is time-like. In the present paper it is shown that the metric admits just the alternative counterpart in which the field is space-like. In this paper, we assume ϕbe coefficient by s and βbe closed and conformal. We find a nessecary and sufficient condition for the metric of relatively isotropic mean Landsberg curvature to be Berwald.
In this paper, we introduce a new look at Finsler surfaces. Landsberg surfaces are Finsler surfaces that are solutions of a system of non-linear partial differential equations. Considering the unicorn's Landsberg problem, we reduce this system to a single non-linear PDE which we call the Landsberg's PDE. By making use of the new look of Finsler surfaces, we solve the Landsberg's PDE and get a class of solutions. Moreover, we show that these solutions and their conformal transformations are Berwaldain.
Given a Finsler space, we introduce a system of partial differential equations, called the Landsberg equation. Based on a careful analysis of the Landsberg equation and the observation that the solution space is invariant under the linear isometries of the tangent Minkowski spaces, we prove that an $(α_1, α_2)$-metric of the Landsberg type must be a Berwald metric. This shows that the hunting for a unicorn, one of the longest standing open problem in Finsler geometry, cannot be successful even in the very broad class of $(α_1,α_2)$-metrics.
In this paper, we construct a new class of Finsler manifolds called generalized isotropic Berwald manifolds which is an extension of the class of isotropic Berwald manifolds. We prove that every generalized isotropic Berwald manifold is a generalized Douglas-Weyl manifold. In this paper, we prove that every m-th root metric with isotropic mean Berwald curvature reduces to a weakly Berwald metric. Then we show that an m-th root metric with isotropic mean Landsberg curvature is a weakly Landsberg metric. We find necessary and sufficient condition under which conformal $β$-change of an m-th root metric be locally dually flat. Finally, we prove that the conformal $β$-change of locally projectively flat m-th root metrics are locally Minkowskian.

In this paper, we classify the spherically symmetric Berwald metrics in $\mathbb{R}^n$. For the spherically symmetric Landsberg metrics, we prove that there do not exist any non-Berwald metrics among the regular case. In this paper we investigate the following question: under what conditions can a second-order homogeneous ordinary differential equation (spray) be the geodesic equation of a Finsler space. We show that the Euler-Lagrange partial differential system on the energy function can be reduced to a first order system on this same function. We adopt a vierbein formalism to study pseudo-Finsler spaces modeled on a pseudo-Minkowski space. We show that it is possible to obtain closed expressions for most of the geometric objects of the theory, including Berwald's curvature, Landsberg's tensor, Douglas' curvature, non-linear connection and Ricci scalar. These expressions are particularly convenient in computations since they factor the dependence on the base and the fiber.
