Using a knot concordance invariant from the Heegaard Floer theory of Ozsvath and Szabo, we obtain new bounds for the Thurston-Bennequin and rotation numbers of Legendrian knots in S^3. We also apply these bounds to calculate the knot concordance invariant for certain knots.

Link Floer homology is an invariant for links defined using a suitable version of Lagrangian Floer homology. In an earlier paper, this invariant was given a combinatorial description with mod 2 coefficients. In the present paper, we give a self-contained presentation of the basic properties of link Floer homology, including an elementary proof of its invariance. We also fix signs for the differentials, so that the theory is defined with integer coefficients.
Given a spin$^c$ rational homology sphere $(Y,\mathfrak{s})$ with $\mathfrak{s}$ self-conjugate and for which the reduced monopole Floer homology $\mathit{HM}_{\bullet}(Y,\mathfrak{s})$ has rank one, we provide obstructions to the intersection forms of its Stein fillings which are not negative definite. We prove that twisted correction terms in Heegaard Floer homology provide lower bounds on the Thurston norm of certain cohomology classes determined by the strong concordance class of a 2-component link $L$ in $S^3$. We then specialise this procedure to knots in $S^2\times S^1$, and obtain a lower bound on their geometric winding number. Furthermore we produce an obstruction for a knot in $S^3$ to have untwisting number 1. We then provide an infinite family of null-homologous knots with increasing geometric winding number, on which the bound is sharp.

The periodic Floer homology of a surface symplectomorphism, defined by the first author and M. Thaddeus, is the homology of a chain complex which is generated by certain unions of periodic orbits, and whose differential counts certain embedded pseudoholomorphic curves in R cross the mapping torus. It is conjectured to recover the Seiberg-Witten Floer homology of the mapping torus for most spin-c structures, and is related to a variant of contact homology. In this paper we compute the periodic Floer homology of some Dehn twists.

We compute different versions of link Floer homology $HFL^{-}$ and $\widehat{HFL}$ for any $L$-space link with two components. The main approach is to compute the $h$-function of the filtered chain complex which is determined by the Alexander polynomials of every sublink of the $L$-space link. As an application, Thurston polytope and Thurston norm of any 2-component $L$-space link are explicitly determined by Alexander polynomials of the link and the link components.
A well-known conjecture of Rasmussen states that for any knot $K$ in $S^{3}$, the rank of the reduced Khovanov homology of $K$ is greater than or equal to the rank of the reduced knot Floer homology of $K$.
