Let $J$ be the Jacobian of a smooth projective curve. We define a natural action of the Lie algebra of polynomial Hamiltonian vector fields on the plane, vanishing at the origin, on the Chow group of $J$ with rational coefficients. Using this action we obtain some relations between tautological cycles on $J$.

In this paper we extend Gazaki's results on the Chow groups of abelian varieties to the higher Chow groups. We introduce a Gazaki type filtration on the higher Chow group of zero-cycles on an abelian variety, whose graded quotients are connected to the Somekawa type $K$-group. Via the étale cycle map, we will compare this filtration with a filtration on the étale cohomology induced by the Hochschild-Serre spectral sequence. As an application over local fields, we obtain an estimate of the kernel of the reciprocity map.

Let $X$ be a complex smooth projective variety of dimension $d$. Under some assumption on the cohomology of $X$, we construct mutually orthogonal idempotents in $CH_d(X \times X) \otimes \Q$ whose action on algebraically trivial cycles coincides with the Abel-Jacobi map. We define a filtration on the Chow groups of a smooth projective variety X over a field k by using the cycle map into continuous l-adic etale cohomology. The main theorem says that if k is a function field in one variable over a finite field, this filtration for zero cycles is of length at most one modulo the kernel of the cycle map.
We will show that the singular cohomology groups of a smooth quasi-projective complex variety relative to a normal crossing divisor can be described in terms of delta-admissible chains. Roughly speaking, a delta-admissible chain is a simplicial semi-algebraic chain meeting the "faces" properly. We express the kernel of Griffiths' Abel-Jacobi map by using the inductive limit of Deligne cohomology in the generalized sense (i.e. the absolute Hodge cohomology of A. Beilinson). This generalizes a result of L. Barbieri-Viale and V. Srinivas in the surface case. For a generalized Kummer variety X of dimension 2n, we will construct for each 0 < i < n some co-isotropic subvarieties in X foliated by i-dimensional constant cycle subvarieties. These subvarieties serve to prove that the rational orbit filtration introduced by Voisin on the Chow group of zero-cycles of a generalized Kummer variety coincides with the induced Beauville decomposition from the Chow ring of abelian varieties. In this paper, we give a Prym-Tjurin construction for the cohomology and the Chow groups for a cubic hypersurface. On the space of lines meeting a given rational curve, there is the incidence correspondence. This correspondence induces an action on both of the primitive cohomology and the primitive Chow groups. We first show that this action satisfies a quadratic equation. Then the Abel-Jacobi homomorphism induces an isomorphism between the primitive cohomology of the cubic hypersurface and the Prym-Tjurin part of the above action. This also holds for Chow groups with rational coefficients.
