We prove that Khovanov homology and Lee homology with coefficients in $\mathbb{F}_2$ are invariant under component-preserving link mutations.

We define a variant of Khovanov homology for links in thickened disks with multiple punctures. This theory is distinct from the one previously defined by Asaeda, Przytycki, and Sikora, but is related to it by a spectral sequence. Additionally, we show that there are spectral sequences induced by embeddings of thickened surfaces, which recover the spectral sequence from annular Khovanov homology to Khovanov homology as a special case.

We describe an invariant of links in the three-sphere which is closely related to Khovanov's Jones polynomial homology. Our construction replaces the symmetric algebra appearing in Khovanov's definition with an exterior algebra. The two invariants have the same reduction modulo 2, but differ over the rationals. There is a reduced version which is a link invariant whose graded Euler characteristic is the normalized Jones polynomial.

We construct a supercategory that can be seen as a skew version of (thickened) KLR algebras for the type $A$ quiver. We use our supercategory to construct homological invariants of tangles and show that for every link our invariant gives a link homology theory supercategorifying the Jones polynomial. In this paper, we discuss two topics: first, we show how to convert 1+1-topological quantum field theories valued in symmetric bimonoidal categories into stable homotopical data, using a machinery by Elmendorf and Mandell. Then, we discuss, in this framework, two recent results (independent of each other) on refinements of Khovanov homology: our refinement into a module over the connective k-theory spectrum and a stronger result by Lipshitz and Sarkar refining Khovanov homology into a stable homotopy type.
