We extend the results of Pareschi on the constancy of the gonality and Clifford index of smooth curves in a complete linear system on Del Pezzo surfaces of degrees $\geq 2$ to the case of Del Pezzo surfaces of degree 1, where we explicitly classify the cases where the gonality and Clifford index are not constant. We also classify all cases of exceptional curves on Del Pezzo surfaces, which turn out to be the smooth plane curves and some other cases with Clifford dimension 3. Moreover, the property of being exceptional holds for all curves in the complete linear system.
Furthermore, we relate the Clifford index and gonality of smooth curves in $|L|$ to the higher order embedding properties of $|L+K_S|$. More precisely, we show that for a nef line bundle $L$ on a Del Pezzo surface, $L+K_S$ is birationally $k$-very ample if and only if all the smooth curves in $|L|$ have gonality $\geq k+2$, and we also find numerical criteria for birational $k$-very ampleness.
ACM rank 1 bundles on del Pezzo surfaces are classified in terms of the rational normal curves that they contain. A complete list of ACM line bundles is provided. Moreover, for any del Pezzo surface $X$ of degree less or equal than six and for any $n\geq 2$ we construct a family of dimension $\geq n-1$ of non-isomorphic simple ACM bundles of rank $n$ on $X$.
We study full exceptional collections of line bundles on surfaces. We prove that any full strong exceptional collection of line bundles on a weak del Pezzo surface of degree $\ge 3$ is an augmentation in the sense of L.Hille and M.Perling, while for some weak del Pezzo surfaces of degree $2$ the above is not true. We classify smooth projective surfaces possessing a cyclic strong exceptional collection of line bundles of maximal length: we prove that they are weak del Pezzo surfaces and find all types of weak del Pezzo surfaces admitting such a collection. We find simple criteria of exceptional…
This paper is devoted to the study of a certain class of principal bundles on del Pezzo surfaces, which were introduced and studied by Friedman and Morgan in \cite{FMdP}: The two authors showed that there exists a unique principal bundle (up to isomorphism) on a given (Gorenstein) del Pezzo surface satisfying certain properties. We call these bundles {\em almost regular}. In turn, we study them in families. In this case, the existence and the moduli of these bundles are governed by the cohomology groups of an abelian sheaf ${\mathscr A}$: On a given del Pezzo fibration, the existence of an alm…
We classify rank two vector bundles on a given del Pezzo threefold of degree four whose projectivizations are weak Fano into seven cases. We also give an example for each of these seven cases.
In this paper, we show that there is a natural Lagrangian fibration structure on the map $Φ$ from the cotangent bundle of a del Pezzo surface $X$ of degree 4 to $\mathbb C^2$. Moreover, we describe explicitly all level surfaces of the above natural map $Φ$.
Let $X$ be a toric Del-Pezzo surface and let $Crit(W) \subset (\mathbb{C}^{\ast})^n$ be the solution scheme of the Landau-Ginzburg system of equations. Denote by $X^{\circ}$ the polar variety of $X$. Our aim in this work is to describe a map $L : Crit(W) \rightarrow Fuk_{trop}(X^{\circ})$ whose image under homological mirror symmetry corresponds to a full strongly exceptional collection of line bundles.
We study certain pencils of del Pezzo surfaces generated by a smooth del Pezzo surface S of degree less or equal to 3 anti-canonically embedded into a weighted projective space P and an appropriate multiple of a hyperplane H. Our main observation is that every minimal model program relative to the morphism lifting such pencil on a suitable resolution of its indeterminacies preserves the open subset P H â A^3. As an application, we obtain projective completions of A^3 into del Pezzo fibrations over P^1 of every degree less or equal to 4. We also obtain completions of A^3 into Mori conic bundles…
We prove that any numerically exceptional collection of maximal length, consisting of line bundles, on a smooth del Pezzo surface is a standard augmentation in the sense of L.Hille and M.Perling. We deduce that any such collection is exceptional and full.
We compute in this note the Seshadri constants of the anticanonical bundle at every point of Del Pezzo surfaces. During the proof, we enlight the role of rational curves in our computations. We present then two exemples where the positivity of the anticanonical bundle cannot be detected using rational curves.
Given a del Pezzo surface of degree d between 1 and 6, possibly with rational double points, we construct a "tautological" holomorphic G-bundle over X, where G is a reductive group which is an appropriate conformal form of the simply connected complex linear group whose coroot lattice is isomorphic to the primitive cohomology of the minimal resolution of X. For example, in case d=3 and X is a smooth cubic surface, the rank 27 vector bundle over X associated to the G-bundle constructed above and the standard 27-dimensional representation of E_6 is a direct sum of the line bundles associated to …
Maximal orders of rank 4 on the projective plane, ramified on a smooth plane quartic are examples of exotic del Pezzo orders. We compute the possible Chern classes for line bundles on such orders and show the moduli space of line bundles with minimal second Chern class is either a point or a smooth genus two curve.
We show that the zeroth cohomology of effective line bundles on del Pezzo and Hirzebruch surfaces can always be computed in terms of a topological index.
We consider $\mathbb{P}(1,1,1,2)$ bundles over $\mathbb{P}^1$ and construct hypersurfaces of these bundles which form a degree 2 del Pezzo fibration over $\mathbb{P}^1$ as a Mori fibre space. We classify all such hypersurfaces whose type $\III$ or $\IV$ Sarkisov links pass to a different Mori fibre space. A similar result for cubic surface fibrations over $\mathbb{P}^2$ is also presented.
In this paper we prove that, over a Hilbertian ground field, surfaces with two conic fibrations whose fibres have non-zero intersection product have the Hilbert property. We then give an application of this result, namely the verification of the Hilbert property for certain del Pezzo varieties.
In this paper we prove that del Pezzo fibrations admit $\mathbb{G}_{a}^{3}$-structures if and only if they are $\mathbb{P}^2$-bundles over $\mathbb{P}^{1}$.
We classify almost del Pezzo manifolds in arbitrary dimension n, i.e., projective manifolds X with big and nef anticanonical bundle -K_X, such that -K_X is divisible by n-1.
Building on the work of Mukai, we explore the birational geometry of the moduli spaces M_{S,L} of semistable rank two torsion-free sheaves, with c_1=-K_S and c_2=2, on a polarized degree one del Pezzo surface (S,L); this is related to the birational geometry of the blow-up X of P^4 in 8 points. Our analysis is explicit and is obtained by looking at the variation of stability conditions. Then we provide a careful investigation of the blow-up X and of the moduli space Y=M_{S,-K_S}, which is a remarkable family of smooth Fano 4-folds. In particular we describe the relevant cones of divisors of Y,…
We study del Pezzo varieties, higher-dimensional analogues of del Pezzo surfaces. In particular, we introduce ADE classification of del Pezzo varieties, show that in type A the dimension of non-conical del Pezzo varieties is bounded by $12 - d - r$, where $d$ is the degree and $r$ is the rank of the class group, and classify maximal del Pezzo varieties.
A $k$-very ample line bundle L on a Del Pezzo Surface is numerically characterized. We find that the set of the exceptional curves and effective divisors with selfintersection zero, $\cal S$, plays a very important rule in checking the nefness and $k$-very ampleness of a line bundle on a Del pezzo Surface. We show that a line bundle L is nef if and only if it is spanned and that L is $k$-very ample if and only if the intersection with all the elements of $\cal S$ is greater or equal than k. In the first part of the paper we give a complete numerical description of the elements of $\cal S$ .
Let $X$ be a Fano manifold. While the properties of the anticanonical divisor $-K_X$ and its multiples have been studied by many authors, the positivity of the tangent bundle $T_X$ is much more elusive. We give a complete characterisation of the pseudoeffectivity of $T_X$ for del Pezzo surfaces, hypersurfaces in the projective space and del Pezzo threefolds.
Let $L$ be a globally generated line bundle over a smooth irreducible complex projective surface $X$. The syzygy bundle $M_{L}$ is the kernel of the evaluation map $H^0(L)\otimes\mathcal O_X\to L$. We prove the $L$-stability of $M_L$ for Hirzebruch surfaces, del Pezzo surfaces and Enriques surfaces. The $(-K_X)$-stability of syzygy bundles $M_L$ over del Pezzo surfaces is also obtained.
We address weak approximation for certain del Pezzo surfaces defined over the function field of a curve. We study the rational connectivity of the smooth locus of degree two del Pezzo surfaces with two A1 singularities in order to prove weak approximation for degree two del Pezzo surfaces with square-free discriminant.
We study del Pezzo fibrations of degree 1 with terminal singularities. A connection between singularities on del Pezzo surfaces of degree 1 and Kodaira's classification of elliptic singular fibers will be studied in this paper. By this investigation we obtain several results on birational maps of del Pezzo fibrations of degree 1 with terminal singularities.
We consider the problem of interpolating projective varieties through points and linear spaces. We show that del Pezzo surfaces satisfy weak interpolation.
We discuss the rational points on del Pezzo surface of degree 1 and 2 over any finite field $\mathbb F_q$, and give out the explicit equations of del Pezzo surfaces that have unique rational point.
We consider del Pezzo surfaces with du Val singularities. We'll prove that a del Pezzo surface $X$ with du Val singularities has a $-K_X$-polar cylinder if and only if there exist tiger such that the support of this tiger does not contain anti-canonical divisor. Also we classify all del Pezzo surfaces $X$ such that $X$ has not any cylinders.
Let k be an algebraically closed field of characteristic 0. A del Pezzo threefold F with maximal Picard number is isomorphic to P^1xP^1xP^1, where P^1 is the projective line over k. In the present paper we completely classify locally free sheaves of rank 2 with vanishing intermediate cohomology over such an F. Such a classification extends similar results proved by E. Arrondo and L. Costa regarding del Pezzo threefolds with Picard number 1.
We estimate $δ$-invariants of some singular del Pezzo surfaces with quotient singularities, which we studied ten years ago. As a result, we show that each of these surfaces admits an orbifold Kähler--Einstein metric.
We classify del Pezzo surfaces with Du Val singularities that have infinite automorphism groups, and describe the connected components of their automorphisms groups.
We classify RDP del Pezzo surfaces with global vector fields over arbitrary algebraically closed fields of characteristic $p \neq 2$. In characteristic $0$, every RDP del Pezzo surface $X$ is equivariant, that is, ${\rm Aut}_X = {\rm Aut}_{\widetilde{X}}$, where $\widetilde{X}$ is the minimal resolution of $X$, hence the classification of RDP del Pezzo surfaces with global vector fields is equivalent to the classification of weak del Pezzo surfaces with global vector fields. In this article, we show that if $p \neq 2,3,5,7$, then it is still true that every RDP del Pezzo surface is equivariant…
In this paper we prove that there are exactly two $G$-minimal surfaces which are $G$-birational to the quintic del Pezzo surface, where $G \cong C_5 \rtimes C_4$. These surfaces are the quintic del Pezzo surface itself and the surface $\mathbb{P}^1 \times \mathbb{P}^1$.
In the present paper we completely classify locally free sheaves of rank $2$ with vanishing intermediate cohomology modules on the image of the Segre embedding $\mathbb{P}^2\times\mathbb{P}^2\subseteq\mathbb{P}^8$ and its general hyperplane sections. Such a classification extends similar already known results regarding del Pezzo varieties with Picard numbers $1$ and $3$ and dimension at least $3$.
Log del Pezzo surfaces play the role of the opposite of surfaces of general type. We will completely classify all the log del Pezzo surfaces of rank 2 and Cartier index 3 with a unique singularity.
