The SYZ Conjecture explains Mirror Symmetry between mirror Calabi-Yau 3-folds M,M' in terms of special Lagrangian fibrations f : M --> B and f' : M' --> B over the same base B, whose fibres are dual 3-tori, except for singular fibres.
One of the main problems in proving the SYZ Conjecture (or even in finding the right statement of it) is that the singularities of special Lagrangian 3-folds and fibrations are poorly understood. This paper studies the singularities of special Lagrangian fibrations.
Our main rigorous results are the construction of examples of special Lagrangian fibrations on open subsets of C^3. The simplest are given explicitly, and the rest are constructed using analytic existence results from the author's three papers math.DG/0111324, math.DG/0111326, math.DG/0204343 on U(1)-invariant special Lagrangian 3-folds in C^3.
We then argue, without full proofs, that some features of our examples should also hold for special Lagrangian fibrations f : M --> B of (almost) Calabi-Yau 3-folds, especially in the generic case. In particular, f will not be smooth but only piecewise-smooth, and the discriminant (set of singular fibres) of f will be of codimension 1 in B, and will typically be composed of 'ribbons'. Finally we draw some conclusions on the SYZ Conjecture, which contradict some stronger statements of it.
Given any smooth cubic curve $E\subseteq \mathbb{P}^2$, we show that the complex affine structure of the special Lagrangian fibration of $\mathbb{P}^2\setminus E$ constructed by Collins--Jacob--Lin arXiv:1904.08363 coincides with the affine structure used in Carl--Pomperla--Siebert for constructing mirror. Moreover, we use the Floer-theoretical gluing method to construct a mirror using immersed Lagrangians, which is shown to agree with the mirror constructed by Carl--Pomperla--Siebert.
In this paper, we study the geometry of the SYZ transform on a semi-flat Lagrangian torus fibration. Our starting point is an investigation on the relation between Lagrangian surgery of a pair of straight lines in a symplectic 2-torus and extension of holomorphic vector bundles over the mirror elliptic curve, via the SYZ transform for immersed Lagrangian multi-sections. This study leads us to a new notion of equivalence between objects in the immersed Fukaya category of a general compact symplectic manifold $(M, ω)$, under which the immersed Floer cohomology is invariant; in particular, this p…
We construct a family of Calabi-Yau metrics on $\C^3$ with properties analogous to the Taub-NUT metric on $\C^2$, and construct a family of Calabi-Yau 3-fold metric models on the positive and negative vertices of SYZ fibrations with properties analogous to the Ooguri-Vafa metric.
We produce special Lagrangian $T^n$-fibrations on the generic regions of some Calabi-Yau hypersurfaces in the Fermat family $X_s=\{ Z_0\ldots Z_{n+1}+ e^{-s} ( Z_0^{n+2}+ \ldots Z_{n+1}^{n+2} ) =0 \}\subset \mathbb{CP}^{n+1} $ near the large complex structure limit $s\to +\infty$.
We survey the metric aspects of the Strominger-Yau-Zaslow conjecture on the existence of special Lagrangian fibrations on Calabi-Yau manifolds near the large complex structure limit. We will discuss the diverse motivations for the conjectural picture, what the best hopes are, and a number of subtleties. The bulk of the survey highlights the role of pluripotential theory, and non-archimedean geometry in particular, with a list of open questions.
We introduce $\mathfrak{f}$-stability, a modification of fibration stability of Dervan-Sektnan [12], and show that $\mathfrak{f}$-semistable fibrations have only semi log canonical singularities. Moreover, $\mathfrak{f}$-stability puts restrictions on semi log canonical centers on Fano fibrations.
This is an announcement of the following construction: given an integral affine manifold $B$ with singularities, we build a topological space $X$ which is a torus fibration over $B$. The main new feature of the fibration $X\to B$ is that it has the discriminant in codimension 2.
D. Ruan和D. Joyce.在最后一节中,我们根据我和威尔逊、孔采维奇和索贝尔曼以及乔伊斯最近的一些想法,讨论了斯特罗明格-丘-扎斯洛猜想的哲学。
By the SYZ construction, a mirror pair $(X,\check{X})$ of a complex torus $X$ and a mirror partner $\check{X}$ of the complex torus $X$ is described as the special Lagrangian torus fibrations $X \rightarrow B$ and $\check{X} \rightarrow B$ on the same base space $B$. Then, by the SYZ transform, we can construct a simple projectively flat bundle on $X$ from each affine Lagrangian multi section of $\check{X} \rightarrow B$ with a unitary local system along it. However, there are ambiguities of the choices of transition functions of it, and this causes difficulties when we try to construct a func…
Let $M$ be a surface with a Riemannian metric and $UM$ the unit tangent bundle over $M$ with the canonical contact sub-Riemannian structure $D$ on $UM$. In this paper, the complete local classification of singularities, under the Legendre fibration $UM$ over $M$, is given for sub-Riemannian geodesics of $(UM, D)$. Legendre singularities of sub-Riemannian geodesics are classified completely also for another Legendre fibration from $UM$ to the space of Riemannian geodesics on $M$. The duality on Legendre singularities is observed related to the pendulum motion.
This is a book aimed at graduate students and researchers in symplectic geometry, based on a course I taught in 2019. The primary message is that the base of a Lagrangian torus fibration inherits an integral affine structure, which you can use to "read off" a lot of interesting geometry of the total space. Topics covered include: action-angle coordinates, symplectic reduction, toric manifolds, visible and tropical Lagrangians, almost toric systems, Milnor fibres of cyclic quotient singularities, mutation of polygons, non-toric blow-up, an almost toric view on Lisca's classification of fillings…
In this article we study the structure of klt projective varieties with nef anticanonical divisor (and more generally, varieties of semi-Fano type), especially the canonical fibrations associated to them. We show that: 1. the Albanese map for such variety is a locally constant fibration (that is, an analytic fibre bundle with connected fibres that $X$ is equal to the product of the universal cover of the Albanese torus by the fibre of the Albanese map quotient by a diagonal action of the fundamenatl group of the Albanese torus); 2. if the smooth locus is simply connected, the MRC fibration of …
We compute the formal Poisson cohomology of a broken Lefschetz fibration by calculating it at fold and Lefschetz singularities. Near a fold singularity the computation reduces to that for a point singularity in 3 dimensions. For the Poisson cohomology around singular points we adapt techniques developed for the Sklyanin algebra. As a side result, we give compact formulas for the Poisson coboundary operator of an arbitrary Jacobian Poisson structure in 4 dimensions.
