In this paper we introduce and study the local quiver as a tool to investigate the etale local structure of moduli spaces of theta-stable representations of quivers. As an application we determine the dimension vectors associated to irreducible representations of torus knot groups.
We prove a new formula for the generating function of polynomials counting absolutely stable representations of quivers over finite fields. The case of irreducible representations is studied in more detail.
The semi-stable ChowHa of a quiver with stability is defined as an analog of the Cohomological Hall algebra of Kontsevich and Soibelman via convolution in equivariant Chow groups of semi-stable loci in representation varieties of quivers. We prove several structural results on the semi-stable ChowHa, namely isomorphism of the cycle map, a tensor product decomposition, and a tautological presentation. For symmetric quivers, this leads to an identification of their quantized Donaldson-Thomas invariants with the Chow-Betti numbers of moduli spaces.
Torus fixed points of quiver moduli spaces are given by stable representations of the universal (abelian) covering quiver. As far as the Kronecker quiver is concerned they can be described by stable representations of certain bipartite quivers coming along with a stable colouring. By use of the glueing method it is possible to construct a huge class of such quivers implying a lower bound for the Euler characteristic. For certain roots it is even possible to construct all torus fixed points.
Let $A$ be a truncated polynomial ring over a complete discrete valuation ring $\mathcal{O}$, and we consider the additive category consisting of $A$-lattices $M$ with the property that $M\otimes \mathcal{K}$ is projective as an $A\otimes \mathcal{K}$-module, where $\mathcal{K}$ is the fraction field of $\mathcal{O}$. Then, we may define the stable Auslander-Reiten quiver of the category. We determine the shape of the components of the stable Auslander-Reiten quiver that contain Heller lattices.
We consider stable representations of non-Dynkin quivers with respect to a central charge. On one condition the existence of a stable representation with self-extensions implies the existence of infinitely many stables without self-extensions. In this case the phases of the stable representations approach one or two limit points. In particular, the phases are not dense in two arcs.
We generalize Smirnov's formula for the elliptic stable envelopes of the Hilbert scheme of points in $\mathbb{C}^2$ to the case of affine type $A$ Nakajima quiver varieties constructed with positive stability condition. We allow for arbitrary choices of polarization and a fairly general choice of chamber. This paper is a companion to the Maple code developed by the author, which implements the formulas described in this paper and is available on the author's website.
In this paper, we answer the question of when the subcategory of semi-stable representations is the same for two rational vectors for an acyclic quiver. This question has been previously answered by Ingalls, Paquette, and Thomas in the tame case in [10]. Here we take a more invariant theoretic approach, to answer this question in general. We recover the known result in the tame case.
We completely describe the tree classes of the components of the stable Auslander-Reiten quiver of a quantum complete intersection. In particular, we show that the tree class is always $A_{\infty}$ whenever the algebra is of wild representation type. Moreover, in the tame case, there is one component of tree class $\tilde{A}_{12}$, whereas all the other are of tree class $A_{\infty}$.
Additive functions on translation quivers have played an important role in the representation theory of finite dimensional algebras, the most prominent ones are the hammock functions introduced by S. Brenner. When dealing with cluster categories (and cluster-tilted algebras), one should look at a corresponding class of functions defined on stable translation quivers, namely the cluster-additive ones. We conjecture that the cluster-additive functions on a stable translation quiver of Dynkin type A_n, D_n, E_6, E_7, E_8 are non-negative linear combinations of cluster-hammock functions (with inde…
Let $Q$ be an acyclic quiver, it is classical that certain truncations of the translation quiver $\mathbb Z Q$ appear in the Auslander-Reiten quiver of the path algebra $kQ$. The stable $n$-translation quiver $\mathbb Z|_{n-1} Q$ is introduced as a generalization of the $\mathbb Z Q$ construction in studying higher representation theory of algebras for an acyclic bound quiver $Q$. In this paper, we find conditions for a Hom-finite Krull-Schmidt $k$-category to be realized as the bound path category of a convex full subquiver of an stable $n$-translation quiver. We show that for $n$-slice algebr…
In this paper, we study the semi-stable subcategories of the category of representations of a Euclidean quiver, and the possible intersections of these subcategories. Contrary to the Dynkin case, we find out that the intersection of semi-stable subcategories may not be semi-stable. However, only a finite number of exceptions occur, and we give a description of these subcategories. Moreover, one can attach a simplicial fan in $\mathbb{Q}^n$ to any acyclic quiver $Q$, and this simplicial fan allows one to completely determine the canonical presentation of any element in $\mathbb{Z}^n$. This fan …
Framed quiver moduli parametrize stable pairs consisting of a quiver representation and a map to a fixed graded vector space. Geometric properties and explicit realizations of framed quiver moduli for quivers without oriented cycles are derived, with emphasis on their cohomology. Their use for quantum group constructions is discussed.
We show that a semi-stable moduli space of representations of an acyclic quiver can be identified with two GIT quotients by reductive groups. One of a quiver Grassmannian of a projective representation, the other of a quiver Grassmannian of an injective representation. This recovers as special cases the classical Gelfand-MacPherson correspondence and its generalization by Hu and Kim to bipartite quivers, as well as the Zelevinsky map for a quiver of Dynkin type A with the linear orientation.
This paper proves that every projective toric variety is the fine moduli space for stable representations of an appropriate bound quiver. To accomplish this, we study the quiver $Q$ with relations $R$ corresponding to the finite-dimensional algebra $\bigl(\bigoplus_{i=0}^{r} L_i \bigr)$ where $\mathcal{L} := (\mathscr{O}_X,L_1, ...c, L_r)$ is a list of line bundles on a projective toric variety $X$. The quiver $Q$ defines a smooth projective toric variety, called the multilinear series $|\mathcal{L}|$, and a map $X \to |\mathcal{L}|$. We provide necessary and sufficient conditions for the indu…
These lecture notes consist of an introduction to moduli spaces in algebraic geometry, with a strong emphasis placed on examples related to the theory of quiver representations. The goal is to provide the background necessary to understand the construction of the moduli spaces of stable and semistable quiver representations due to King, Nakajima's quiver varieties, as well as some 'quiver versions' of existing moduli spaces of algebra-geometric objects.
We construct a family of McKay quiver representations on the Danilov resolution of the 1/r(1,a,r - a) singularity. It follows that the resolution is the normalization of the coherent component of the moduli space of stable McKay quiver representations for a suitable stability condition. We describe explicitly the corresponding chamber of stability conditions for any coprime numbers r, a.
We suggest a geometrical approach to the semi-invariants of quivers based on Luna's slice theorem and the Luna-Richardson theorem. The locally semi-simple representations are defined in this spirit but turn out to be connected with stable representations in the sense of GIT, Schofield's perpendicular categories, and Ringel's regular representations. As an application of this method we obtain an independent short proof of the theorem of Skowronsky and Weyman about semi-invariants of the tame quivers.
We study the representation theory of Dynkin quivers of type A in abstract stable homotopy theories, including those associated to fields, rings, schemes, differential-graded algebras, and ring spectra. Reflection functors, (partial) Coxeter functors, and Serre functors are defined in this generality and these equivalences are shown to be induced by universal tilting modules, certain explicitly constructed spectral bimodules. In fact, these universal tilting modules are spectral refinements of classical tilting complexes. As a consequence we obtain split epimorphisms from the spectral Picard g…
For a given small binary dihedral group G we use the classification of G-graphs to describe explicitly G-Hilb(C^2) by giving an affine open cover of M(Q,R), the moduli space of stable quiver representations.
In order to extend the geometrization of Yangian $R$-matrices from Lie algebras $gl(n)$ to superalgebras $gl(M|N)$, we introduce new quiver-related varieties which are associated with representations of $gl(M|N)$. In order to define them similarly to the Nakajima-Cherkis varieties, we reformulate the construction of the latter by replacing the Hamiltonian reduction with the intersection of generalized Lagrangian subvarieties in the cotangent bundles of Lie algebras sitting at the vertices of the quiver. The new varieties come from replacing some Lagrangian subvarieties with their Legendre tran…
We analyze Auslander-Reiten components for the bounded derived category of a finite-dimensional algebra. We classify derived categories whose Auslander-Reiten quiver has either a finite stable component or a stable component with finite Dynkin tree class or a bounded stable component. Their Auslander-Reiten quiver is determined. We also determine components that contain shift periodic complexes.
We construct moduli spaces of representations of quivers over arbitrary schemes and show how moduli spaces of pointed curves of genus zero like the Grothendieck-Knudsen moduli spaces $\overline{M}_{0,n}$ and the Losev-Manin moduli spaces $\overline{L}_n$ can be interpreted as inverse limits of moduli spaces of representations of certain bipartite quivers. We also investigate the case of more general Hassett moduli spaces $\overline{M}_{0,a}$ of weighted pointed stable curves of genus zero.
This is a note in which we first review symmetries of moduli spaces of stable meromorphic connections on trivial vector bundles over the Riemann sphere, and next discuss symmetries of their integrable deformations as an application. In the study of the symmetries, a realization of the moduli spaces as quiver varieties is given and plays an essential role.
The purpose of this thesis is to present certain viewpoints on the geometric representation theory of Nakajima cyclic quiver varieties, in relation to the Maulik-Okounkov stable basis. Our main technical tool is the shuffle algebra, which arises as the K-theoretic Hall algebra of the double cyclic quiver. We prove the isomorphism between the shuffle algebra and the quantum toroidal algebra U_{q,t}(sl_n^^), and identify the quotients of Verma modules for the shuffle algebra with the K-theory groups of Nakajima cyclic quiver varieties, which were studied by Nakajima and Varagnolo-Vasserot. The s…
For any moduli space of stable representations of quivers, certain smooth varieties, compactifying projective space fibrations over the moduli space, are constructed. The boundary of this compactification is analyzed. Explicit formulas for the Betti numbers of the smooth models are derived. In the case of moduli of simple representations, explicit cell decompositions of the smooth models are constructed.
Motivated by string-theoretic arguments Manschot, Pioline and Sen discovered a new remarkable formula for the Poincare polynomial of a smooth compact moduli space of stable quiver representations which effectively reduces to the abelian case (i.e. thin dimension vectors). We first prove a motivic generalization of this formula, valid for arbitrary quivers, dimension vectors and stabilities. In the case of complete bipartite quivers we use the refined GW/Kronecker correspondence between Euler characteristics of quiver moduli and Gromov-Witten invariants to identify the MPS formula for Euler cha…
We explore the (noncommutative) geometry of locally simple representations of the diagonal locally finite Lie algebras $\mathfrak{sl}(n^\infty)$, $\mathfrak o(n^\infty)$, and $\mathfrak{sp}(n^\infty)$. Let $\mathfrak g_\infty$ be one of these Lie algebras, and let $I \subseteq U(\mathfrak g_\infty)$ be the nonzero annihilator of a locally simple $\mathfrak g_\infty$-module. We show that for each such $I$, there is a quiver $Q$ so that locally simple $\mathfrak g_\infty$-modules with annihilator $I$ are parameterised by "points" in the "noncommutative space" corresponding to the path algebra of…
We give Erdmann-Nakano type theorem for the finite quiver Hecke algebras $R^{Λ_0}(β)$ of affine type $D^{(2)}_{\ell+1}$, which tells their representation type. If $R^{Λ_0}(β)$ is not of wild representation type, we may compute its stable Auslander-Reiten quiver.
We consider a finite acyclic quiver $\mathcal{Q}$ and a quasi-Frobenius ring $R$. We endow the category of quiver representations over $R$ with a model structure, whose homotopy category is equivalent to the stable category of Gorenstein-projective modules over the path algebra $R\mathcal{Q}$. As an application, we then characterize Gorenstein-projective $R\mathcal{Q}$-modules in terms of the corresponding quiver $R$-representations; this generalizes a result obtained by Luo-Zhang to the case of not necessarily finitely generated $R\mathcal{Q}$-modules, and partially recover results due to Eno…
We consider the problem of simultaneously finding lower-dimensional subspace structures in a given $m$-tuple of possibly corrupted, high-dimensional data sets all of the same size. We refer to this problem as simultaneous robust subspace recovery (SRSR) and provide a quiver invariant theoretic approach to it. We show that SRSR is a particular case of the more general problem of effectively deciding whether a quiver representation is semi-stable (in the sense of Geometric Invariant Theory) and, in case it is not, finding a subrepresentation certifying in an optimal way that the representation i…
We construct Mori Dream Spaces as fine moduli spaces of representations of bound quivers, thereby extending results of Craw--Smith \cite{CrawSmith} beyond the toric case. Any collection of effective line bundles $\mathscr{L}=(\mathscr{O}_X, L_1,..., L_r)$ on a Mori Dream Space $X$ defines a bound quiver of sections and a map from $X$ to a toric quiver variety $|\mathscr{L}|$ called the multigraded linear series. We provide necessary and sufficient conditions for this map to be a closed immersion and, under additional assumptions on $\mathscr{L}$, the image realises $X$ as the fine moduli space…
In this paper, we solve a problem raised by V. Kac in \cite{Kac} on locally semi-simple quiver representations. Specifically, we show that an acyclic quiver $Q$ is of tame representation type if and only if every representation of $Q$ with a semi-simple ring of endomorphisms is locally semi-simple.
We find an explicit formula that produces inductively the elliptic stable envelopes of an arbitrary Nakajima variety associated to a quiver Q from the ones of those Nakajima varieties whose framing vectors are the fundamental vectors of the quiver Q, i.e. the dimension vectors with just one unitary nonzero entry. The result relies on abelianization of stable envelopes. As an application, we combine our result with Smirnov's formula for the elliptic stable envelopes of the Hilbert scheme of points on the plane to produce the elliptic stable envelopes of the instanton moduli space.
In his paper \cite{MR1}, Markus Reineke proposed a conjecture that there exists a stable weight system $Θ$ for every indecomposable representation of Dynkin type quiver. In this paper, we showed this conjecture is true for quivers of $A_n$-type by combinatorial construction of a special weight system. We also reinterpret this weight system in terms of semi-invariant theory.
This paper presents a geometric model of the Auslander-Reiten quiver of a type A quiver together with a stability function for which all indecomposable modules are stable. We also introduce a new Catalan object which we call a maximal almost rigid representation. We show that its endomorphism algebra is a tilted algebra of type A. We define a partial order on the set of maximal almost rigid representations and use our new geometric model to show that this partial order is a Cambrian lattice.
We give a description of faces of all codimensions for the cones of weights of rings of semi-invariants of quivers. For a triple flag quiver and faces of codimension 1 this reduces to the result of Knutson-Tao-Woodward on the facets of the Klyachko cone. We give new applications to Littlewood-Richardson coefficients, including a product formula for LR-coefficients corresponding to triples of partitions lying on a wall of the Klyachko cone. We systematically review and develop the necessary methods (exceptional and Schur sequences, orthogonal categories, semi-stable decompositions, GIT quotient…
A large class of N=2 quantum field theories admits a BPS quiver description and the study of their BPS spectra is then reduced to a representation theory problem. In such theories the coupling to a line defect can be modelled by framed quivers. The associated spectral problem characterises the line defect completely. Framed BPS states can be thought of as BPS particles bound to the defect. We identify the framed BPS degeneracies with certain enumerative invariants associated with the moduli spaces of stable quiver representations. We develop a formalism based on equivariant localization to com…
This paper introduces a class of smooth projective varieties that generalise and share many properties with partial flag varieties of type A. The quiver flag variety M_\vartheta(Q,r) of a finite acyclic quiver Q (with a unique source) and a dimension vector r is a fine moduli space of stable representations of Q. Quiver flag varieties are Mori Dream Spaces, they are obtained via a tower of Grassmann bundles, and their bounded derived category of coherent sheaves is generated by a tilting bundle. We define the multigraded linear series of a weakly exceptional sequence of locally free sheaves E …
The goal of this paper is to clarify the connection between certain structures from the theory of totally nonnegative Grassmannians, quiver Grassmannians for cyclic quivers and the theory of local models of Shimura varieties. More precisely, we generalize the construction from our previous paper relating the combinatorics and geometry of quiver Grassmanians to that of the totally nonnegative Grassmannians. The varieties we are interested in serve as realizations of local models of Shimura varieties. We exploit quiver representation techniques to study the quiver Grassmannians of interest and, …
By introducing Frobenius morphisms $F$ on algebras $A$ and their modules over the algebraic closure ${\bar \BF}_q$ of the finite field $\BF_q$ of $q$ elements, we establish a relation between the representation theory of $A$ over ${\bar \BF}_q$ and that of the $F$-fixed point algebra $A^F$ over $\BF_q$. More precisely, we prove that the category $\modh A^F$ of finite dimensional $A^F$-modules is equivalent to the subcategory of finite dimensional $F$-stable $A$-modules, and, when $A$ is finite dimensional, we establish a bijection between the isoclasses of indecomposable $A^F$-modules and the …
Given a triangulation of a polygon P with n vertices, we associate an ice quiver with potential such that the associated Jacobian algebra has the structure of a Gorenstein tiled K[x]-order L. Then we show that the stable category of the category of Cohen-Macaulay L-modules is equivalent to the cluster category C of Dynkin type A(n-3). It gives a natural interpretation of the usual indexation of cluster tilting objects of C by triangulations of P. Moreover, it extends naturally the triangulated categorification by C of the cluster algebra of type A(n-3) to an exact categorification by adding co…
We determine the structure of all finite-dimensional self-injective algebras over a field whose Auslander-Reiten quiver admits a hereditary stable slice.
By using perverse sheaves on representation spaces of quivers over $k[t]/(t^n)$ and jet schemes over flag varieties, we construct a geometric composition algebra $\mathbf K$ under Lusztig's framework on geometric realizations of the negative part of quantum algebras. Simple perverse sheaves in $\mathbf K$ form the canonical basis of $\mathbf K$. The relationships among the algebra $\mathbf K$, the composition algebra of locally projective representations of quivers over $k[t]/(t^n)$ and quantum generalized Kac-Moody algebra are provided.
We study the stability of some homogeneous bundles on P^3 by using their representations of the quiver associated to the homgeneous bundles on P^3. In particular we show that homogeneous bundles on P^3 whose support of the quiver representation is a parallelepiped are stable, for instance the bundles E whose minimal free resolution is of the kind 0 --> S^{l_1, l_2, l_3} V (t) --> S^{l_1 +s, l_2, l_3} V (t+s) --> E --> 0 are stable.
For $Λ$ a selfinjective algebra, and $Q$ a finite quiver without oriented cycles, the algebra $ΛQ$ is a Gorenstein algebra and the category ${\rm Gproj}ΛQ$ of Gorenstein-projective $ΛQ$-modules is a Frobenius category. For a sink $v$ of $Q$, we define a functor $F(v) : \underline{\rm Gproj}ΛQ\to \underline{\rm Gproj}ΛQ(v)$ between the stable categories modulo projectives, where $Q(v)$ is obtained from $Q$ by changing the direction of each arrow ending in $v$. The functor is given by an explicit construction on the level of objects and homomorphisms. Our main result states that $F(v)$ is an equ…
