Let $Q$ be an acyclic quiver, it is classical that certain truncations of the translation quiver $\mathbb Z Q$ appear in the Auslander-Reiten quiver of the path algebra $kQ$. The stable $n$-translation quiver $\mathbb Z|_{n-1} Q$ is introduced as a generalization of the $\mathbb Z Q$ construction in studying higher representation theory of algebras for an acyclic bound quiver $Q$. In this paper, we find conditions for a Hom-finite Krull-Schmidt $k$-category to be realized as the bound path category of a convex full subquiver of an stable $n$-translation quiver. We show that for $n$-slice algebra $Γ$, which is an $n$-hereditary algebra whose $(n+1)$-preprojective algebra is $(q+1,n+1)$-Koszul, with bound quiver $Q^{op}$, its $n$-preprojective and $n$-preinjective components in the module category and truncations of the stable $n$-translation quiver $\mathbb Z|_{n-1} Q^{op}$. We also use $\mathbb Z|_{n-1} Q^{op}$ to describe the $ν_n$-closure of $Γ$ in the derived category.
For each irreducible finite dimensional representation of the Lie algebra $\mathfrak{sl}_2(\mathbb{C})$ of $2\times 2$ traceless matrices, an explicit uniform upper bound is given for the multiplicities in the cocharacter sequence of the polynomial identities satisfied by the given representation.
In this concise article, we compute the weight decomposition of $\mathfrak{sl}_d(\mathbb R)$ with respect to the adjoint representation of $\mathfrak{so}(p,q)$, where $d=p+q$ and demonstrate in detail that $\mathfrak{sl}_d(\mathbb R)$ comprises two irreducible $\mathfrak{so}(p,q)$-invariant subspaces. This can be employed to establish the well-known fact that the identity component of $\mathrm{SO}(p,q)$ is a maximal connected subgroup of $\mathrm{SL}_d(\mathbb R)$.
We compute the total Stiefel Whitney class for a real representation $π$ of $\mathrm{GL}_n(\mathbb{F}_q)$, where $q$ is odd in terms of character values of $π$ on order $2$ diagonal elements. We also compute the total Stiefel Whitney class of real representations of $\mathrm{GL}_n(\mathbb{R})$ and $\mathrm{GL}_n(\mathbb{C})$.
We study branching problem of the metaplectic representation of $Sp(2, \mathbb R)$ under its principle subgroup $SL(2, \mathbb R)$. We find the complete decomposition.
In this article we construct Weil representations of quasi-split unitary groups $U(n,n)(\mathbb{F}_{q^2}/\mathbb{F}_q)$ associated to quadratic extensions of finite fields. We define these representations by using an adequate presentation Bruhat like of those groups. More precisely, we define Weil representations of $U(n,n)(\mathbb{F}_{q^2}/\mathbb{F}_q)$ associating to each generator a linear map of a suitable $\mathbb{C}$-vector space satisfying the relations of the aforementioned presentation. In addition, we also address the natural question on the compatibility of our representation of $U…
We give an introduction to the $\mathbb{Z}$-graded representation theory of the BGG category $\mathcal{O}$ of a complex semisimple Lie algebras, with an emphasis on Soergel's combinatorial $\mathbb{V}$ functor, definitions of $\mathbb{Z}$-graded duality functors and definitions of $\mathbb{Z}$-graded translation functors.
Let $V$ be a $GL_n(\mathbb{R})$-distinguished, irreducible, admissible representation of $GL_n(\mathbb{C})$. We prove that any continuous linear functional on $V$, which is invariant under the action of the real mirabolic subgroup, is automatically $GL_n(\mathbb{R})$-invariant.
We study the structure of the $(\mathfrak{g},K)$-modules of the principal series representations of $SL(3,\mathbb{R})$ and $Sp(2,\mathbb{R})$ induced from minimal parabolic subgroups, in the case when the infinitesimal character is nonsingular. The composition factors of these modules are known by Kazhdan-Lusztig-Vogan conjecture. In this paper, we give complete descriptions of the socle filtrations of these modules.
Let $\mathbb S$ be a Clifford module for the complexified Clifford algebra $\mathbb{C}\ell(\mathbb R^n)$, $\mathbb S'$ its dual, $ρ$ and $ρ'$ be the corresponding representations of the spin group ${\rm Spin}(n)$. The group $G= {\rm Spin}(1,n+1)$ is a (twofold) covering of the conformal group of $\mathbb R^n$. For $λ, μ\in \mathbb C$, let $π_{ρ, λ}$ (resp. $π_{ρ',μ}$) be the spinorial representation of $G$ realized on a (subspace of) $C^\infty(\mathbb R^n,\mathbb S)$ (resp. $C^\infty(\mathbb R^n,\mathbb S')$). For $0\leq k\leq n$ and $m\in \mathbb N$, we construct a symmetry breaking different…
We study the finite-dimensional irreducible representations of the nullity 2 centreless core $\mathfrak{g}_{2n,ρ}(\mathbb{C}_q)$ by investigating the structure of the $\mathrm{BC}_n$-graded Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}_{2n,ρ}(R)$, where $R$ is a unital involutory associative algebra over a field $k$ of characteristic zero.
Let $G=Sp(4,\mathbb{R})$ and let $π$ be an irreducible, unitary representation of $G$ which is cohomological with respect to trivial coefficients. Using the inclusion from $SO(5,\mathbb{C})$ to $GL(5,\mathbb{C})$, we transfer $π$ to an irreducible representation $ι(π)$ of $GL(5,\mathbb{R})$ and determine how the property of being cohomological behaves under Langlands functoriality. We also consider representations which are cohomological with respect to non-trivial coefficients.
Let $\mathrm{G} = \mathrm{Gl}_{n}(K)$, and $\mathrm{H} = \mathrm{G}^σ$ for $σ$ an involution of the form $g\rightarrow aga^{-1}$, It is known that for $K =\mathbb{Q}_q$ any irreducible representation of $\mathrm{G}$ with an $\mathrm{H}$ invariant functional, is self dual, we prove an analogous result for $\mathbb{F}_{q}$.
We investigate quiver representations over $\mathbb{F}_1$. Coefficient quivers are combinatorial gadgets equivalent to $\mathbb{F}_1$-representations of quivers. We focus on the case when the quiver $Q$ is a pseudotree. For such quivers, we first use the notion of coefficient quivers to provide a complete classification of asymptotic behaviors of indecomposable representations over $\mathbb{F}_1$. Then, we prove some fundamental structural results about the Lie algebras associated to pseudotrees. Finally, we construct examples of $\mathbb{F}_1$-representations $M$ of a quiver $Q$ by using cove…
We study the category $\textrm{Rep}(Q,\mathbb{F}_1)$ of representations of a quiver $Q$ over "the field with one element", denoted by $\mathbb{F}_1$, and the Hall algebra of $\textrm{Rep}(Q,\mathbb{F}_1)$. Representations of $Q$ over $\mathbb{F}_1$ often reflect combinatorics of those over $\mathbb{F}_q$, but show some subtleties - for example, we prove that a connected quiver $Q$ is of finite representation type over $\mathbb{F}_1$ if and only if $Q$ is a tree. Then, to each representation $\mathbb{V}$ of $Q$ over $\mathbb{F}_1$ we associate a coefficient quiver $Γ_\mathbb{V}$ possessing the …
A Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}_\mathbb{Q}$ over $\mathbb{Q}$ is said to be $\mathbb{R}$-universal if every homomorphism from $\mathfrak{g}_\mathbb{Q}$ to $\mathfrak{gl}(n,\mathbb{R})$ is conjugate to a homomorphism into $\mathfrak{gl}(n,\mathbb{Q})$ (for every $n$). By using Galois cohomology, we provide a short proof of the known fact that every real semisimple Lie algebra has an $\mathbb{R}$-universal $\mathbb{Q}$-form. We also provide a classification of the $\mathbb{R}$-universal Lie algebras that are semisimple.
We introduce the representation category $\mathscr{C}({\bf G})$ for a connected reductive algebraic group ${\bf G}$ which is defined over a finite field $\mathbb{F}_q$ of $q$ elements. We show that this category has many good properties for ${\bf G}=SL_2(\bar{\mathbb{F}}_q)$. In particular, it is an abelian category and a highest weight category. Moreover, we classify the simple objects in $\mathscr{C}({\bf G})$ for ${\bf G}=SL_2(\bar{\mathbb{F}}_q)$.
Let $(π,V)$ be a $GL_n(\mathbb{R})$-distinguished, irreducible, admissible representation of $GL_n(\mathbb{C})$, let $π'$ be an irreducible, admissible, $GL_m(\mathbb{R})$-distinguished representation of $GL_m(\mathbb{C})$, and let $ψ$ be a non-trival character of $\mathbb{C}$ which is trivial on $\mathbb{R}$. We prove that Rankin-Selberg gamma factor at $s=\frac{1}{2}$ is $γ(\frac{1}{2},π\times π'; ψ) = 1$. The result follows as a simple consequence from the characterisation of $GL_n(\mathbb{R})$-distinguished representations in terms of their Langlands data.
We use a Diamond diagram attached to a $2$-dimensional reducible split mod $p$ Galois representation of $\mathrm{Gal}(\overline{\mathbb{Q}_{p}}/\mathbb{Q}_{p^{2}})$ to construct a non-admissible smooth irreducible mod $p$ representation of $GL_{2}(\mathbb{Q}_{p^{2}})$ following the approach of Daniel Le.
Let $ρ$ be a representation of the fundamental group of a punctured surface into $\mathrm{PSL}_2 (\mathbb{C})$ that is not Fuchsian. We prove that there exists a Fuchsian representation that strictly dominates $ρ$ in the simple length spectrum, and preserves the boundary lengths. This extends a result of Gueritaud-Kassel-Wolff to the case of $\mathrm{PSL}_2 (\mathbb{C})$-representations. Our proof involves straightening the pleated plane in $\mathbb{H}^3$ determined by the Fock-Goncharov coordinates of a framed representation, and applying strip-deformations.
In this paper we introduce a novel family of Markov chains on the simple representations of $\mathrm{SL}_2(\mathbb{F}_p)$ in defining characteristic, defined by tensoring with a fixed simple module and choosing an indecomposable non-projective summand. We show these chains are reversible and find their connected components and their stationary distributions. We draw connections between the properties of the chain and the representation theory of $\mathrm{SL}_2(\mathbb{F}_p)$, emphasising symmetries of the tensor product. We also provide an elementary proof of the decomposition of tensor produc…
In this note for $p>5$ we calculate the dimensions of ${\rm Ext}^1_{{\rm SL}_2(\mathbb{Q}_p)}(τ, σ)$ for any two irreducible supersingular representations $τ$ and $σ$ of ${\rm SL}_2(\mathbb{Q}_p)$.
We compute the total Stiefel Whitney class for a real representation $π$ of $\mathrm{GL}_2(\mathbb{F}_q)$, where $q$ is odd. The obstruction class of $π$ is defined to be the Stiefel Whitney class of lowest positive degree that does not vanish. We provide an expression for the obstruction class of $π$ in terms of its character values if $\detπ=1$.
In this paper, we compute the Gelfand-Kirillov dimensions for the infinite-dimensional explicit irreducible $\mathfrak{o}(n, \mathbb{C})$-modules and $\mathfrak{sp}(2n, \mathbb{C})$-modules that appeared in the $\mathbb{Z}$-graded oscillator generalizations of the classical theorem on harmonic polynomials established by Luo and Xu. We also found that some of the modules have the secondly minimal GK-dimension, and some of them have the larger GK-dimension than the maximal GK-dimension of unitary highest-weight modules.
In this paper, the 2-category $\mathfrak{Rep}_{{\bf 2Mat}_{\mathbb{C}}}(\mathbb{G})$ of (weak) representations of an arbitrary (weak) 2-group $\mathbb{G}$ on (some version of) Kapranov and Voevodsky's 2-category of (complex) 2-vector spaces is studied. In particular, the set of equivalence classes of representations is computed in terms of the invariants $π_0(\mathbb{G})$, $π_1(\mathbb{G})$ and $[α]\in H^3(π_0(\mathbb{G}),π_1(\mathbb{G}))$ classifying $\mathbb{G}$. Also the categories of morphisms (up to equivalence) and the composition functors are determined explicitly. As a consequence, we …
Let $\mathbb{F}_{q}$ be a finite field of characteristic $p$, and let $W_{2}(\mathbb{F}_{q})$ be the ring of Witt vectors of length two over $\mathbb{F}_{q}$. We prove that for any reductive group scheme $\mathbb{G}$ over $\mathbb{Z}$ such that $p$ is very good for $\mathbb{G}\times\mathbb{F}_{q}$, the groups $\mathbb{G}(\mathbb{F}_{q}[t]/t^{2})$ and $\mathbb{G}(W_{2}(\mathbb{F}_{q}))$ have the same number of irreducible representations of dimension $d$, for each $d$. Equivalently, there exists an isomorphism of group algebras $\mathbb{C}[\mathbb{G}(\mathbb{F}_{q}[t]/t^{2})]\cong\mathbb{C}[\ma…
We classify irreducible super unitary representations of an orthosymplectic Lie superalgebra $ \mathfrak{osp}(M/N; \mathbb{R} ) $ using the notion of super dual pairs in $ \mathfrak{osp}(M/N) $.
In this paper, we obtain a general formula for the characteristic polynomial of a finitely dimensional representation of Lie algebra $\mathfrak{sl}(2, \C )$ and the form for these characteristic polynomials, and prove there is one to one correspondence between representations and their characteristic polynomials. We define a product on these characteristic polynomials, endowing them with a monoid structure.
Let $G$ be $SL(n, \mathbb{C})$. This paper aims to describe the Zhelobenko parameters and the spin-lowest $K$-types of the scattered representations of $G$, which lie at the heart of $\hat{G}^d$ - the set of all the equivalence classes of irreducible unitary representations of $G$ with non-vanishing Dirac cohomology. As a consequence, we will verify a couple of conjectures of the first-named author for $G$.
We consider the restriction to $SL_2({\mathbb Q}_p)$ of an irreducible $p$-adic unitary Banach space representation $Π$ of $GL_2({\mathbb Q}_p)$. If $Π$ is associated, via the $p$-adic local Langlands correspondence, to an absolutely irreducible 2-dimensional Galois representation $ψ$, then the restriction of $Π$ decomposes as a direct sum of $r \le 2$ irreducible representations. The main result of this paper is that $r$ is equal to the cardinality $s$ of the centralizer in $PGL_2$ of the projective Galois representation $\overlineψ$ associated to $ψ$, and the restriction is multiplicity-free…
We study the Howe correspondence for unipotent representations of irreducible dual pairs $(G',G)=(\text{U}_m(\mathbb{F}_q),\text{U}_n(\mathbb{F}_q))$ and $(G',G)=(\text{Sp}_{2m}(\mathbb{F}_q),\text{O}^ε_{2n}(\mathbb{F}_q))$, where $\mathbb{F}_q$ denotes the finite field with $q$ elements ($q$ odd) and $ε=\pm 1$. We show how to extract extremal (i.e. minimal and maximal) irreducible subrepresentations from the image of $π$ under the correpondence of a unipotent representation $π$ of $G$.
These notes are an expanded version of my talk at the ICRA 2018 in Prague, Czech Republic; they are based on joint work with Tobias Dyckerhoff and Tashi Walde. In them we relate Iyama's higher Auslander algebras of type $\mathbb{A}$ to Eilenberg--Mac Lane spaces in algebraic topology and to higher-dimensional versions of the Waldhausen $\operatorname{S}$-construction from algebraic $K$-theory.
Let $G$ be $Sp(2n, \mathbb{R})$ or $SO^*(2n)$. We compute the Dirac index of a large class of unitary representations considered by Vogan in Section 8 of [Vog84], which include all weakly fair $A_{\mathfrak{q}}(λ)$ modules and (weakly) unipotent representations of $G$ as two extreme cases. We conjecture that these representations exhaust all unitary representations of $G$ with nonzero Dirac cohomology. In general, for certain irreducible unitary module of an equal rank group, we clarify the link between the possible cancellations in its Dirac index, and the parities of its spin-lowest $K$-type…
We study the finite-dimensional continuous complex representations of $\mathrm{SL}_2$ over the ring of integers of non-Archimedean local fields of even residual characteristic. We prove that for characteristic two, the abscissa of convergence of the representation zeta function is $1$, resolving the last remaining open case of this problem. We additionally prove that, contrary to the expectation, the group algebras of $\mathbb C[\mathbb{SL}_2(\mathbb Z/(2^{2 r}))]$ and $\mathbb C[\mathbb{SL}_2(\mathbb F_2[t]/(t^{2r}))]$ are not isomorphic for any $r > 1$. This is the first known class of reduc…
We discuss certain effective improvements on superrigidity for $SL_n(\mathbb{Z})$ for finite $n>2$. Using these ideas we then use superrigidity to prove a representation stability theorem about pointwise finite dimensional $VIC(\mathbb{Z})$-modules, which itself can be viewed as a superrigidity theorem for $VIC(\mathbb{Z})$ and $GL_\infty(\mathbb{Z})$
An Explicit Construction of CAP Representations of $Sp_{4n}(\mathbb A)$ associated to Non-trivial Automorphic Characters of Orthogonal Groups $O_{2n}(\mathbb A)$

We study the representations of the group $\mathbb{Z}_2^{*n}$, the free product of $\mathbb{Z}_2$ with itself $n$-times. We use the action of $B_n = S_2 \wr S_n $ as algebra automorphisms on the group algebra $\mathbb{C}(\mathbb{Z}_2^{*n})$ to find the components that contain simple representations and to study smoothness of their GIT-quotients. In particular, all the possible local quiver settings are studied for the component containing the standard $n$-dimensional representation of $S_{n+1}$.
The unitary principal series representations of $G=GL(n,\mathbb{C})$ induced from a character of the maximal parabolic subgroup $P=(GL(1,\mathbb{C})\times GL(n-1,\mathbb{C}))\ltimes\mathbb{C}^{n-1}$ attain the minimal Gelfand--Kirillov dimension among all infinite-dimensional unitary representations of $G$. We find the explicit branching laws for the restriction of these representations to symmetric subgroups of $G$.
We introduce the notions of symmetric and symmetrizable representations of $\text{SL}_2(\mathbb{Z})$. The linear representations of $\text{SL}_2(\mathbb{Z})$ arising from modular tensor categories are symmetric and have congruence kernel. Conversely, one may also reconstruct modular data from finite-dimensional symmetric, congruence representations of $\text{SL}_2(\mathbb{Z})$. By investigating a $\mathbb{Z}/2\mathbb{Z}$-symmetry of some Weil representations at prime power levels, we prove that all finite-dimensional congruence representations of $\text{SL}_2(\mathbb{Z})$ are symmetrizable. We…

We establish Bernstein-centre type of results for the category of mod $p$ representations of $\mathrm{GL}_2(\mathbb{Q}_p)$. We treat all the remaining open cases, which occur when $p$ is $2$ or $3$. Our arguments carry over for all primes $p$. This allows us to remove the restrictions on the residual representation at $p$ in Lue Pan's recent proof of the Fontaine--Mazur conjecture for Hodge--Tate representations of $\mathrm{Gal}(\overline{\mathbb Q}/\mathbb{Q})$ with equal Hodge--Tate weights.
For the cyclic group $\mathbb{Z}_3$ and positive integer $k$, we study the representations of the orbifold vertex operator algebra $L_{\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}_2}}(k,0)^{\mathbb{Z}_3}$. All the irreducible modules for $L_{\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}_2}}(k,0)^{\mathbb{Z}_3}$ are classified and constructed explicitly. Quantum dimensions and fusion rules for the orbifold vertex operator algebra $L_{\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}_2}}(k,0)^{\mathbb{Z}_3}$ are completely determined.
In this paper, we used the free fields of Wakimoto to construct a class of irreducible representations for the general linear Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{gl}_{m|n}(\mathbb{C})$. The structures of the representations over the general linear Lie superalgebra and the special linear Lie superalgebra are studied in this paper. Then we extend the construction to the affine Kac-Moody Lie superalgebra $\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}_{m|n}}(\mathbb{C})$ on the tensor product of a polynomial algebra and an exterior algebra with infinitely many variables involving one parameter $μ$, and we also obtain the necess…
Langlands' beyond endoscopy proposal for establishing functoriality motivates interesting and concrete problems in the representation theory of algebraic groups. We study these problems in a setting related to the Langlands $L$-functions $L(s,π,\,\otimes^3),$ where $π$ is a cuspidal automorphic representation of $\mathrm{GL}_n(\mathbb{A}_F)$ where $F$ is a global field.
Let $B$ be a representation-finite $\mathbb{C}$-algebra. The $\mathbb{Z}$-Lie algebra $L(B)$ associated with $B$ has been defined by Ch. Riedtmann. If $B$ is representation-directed there is another $\mathbb{Z}$-Lie algebra associated with $B$ defined by C. M. Ringel and denoted by $\CK(B)$. We prove that the Lie algebras $L(B)$ and $\CK(B)$ are isomorphic for any representation-directed $\mathbb{C}$-algebra $B$.
Ibukiyama correspondences on automorphic forms on $\operatorname{Mp}_4(\mathbb{A}_\mathbb{Q})$ and $\operatorname{SO}_5(\mathbb{A}_\mathbb{Q})$ generating large discrete series representations at the real place
Let $\mathcal{O}_2$ and $\mathcal{O}'_2$ be two distinct finite local rings of length two with residue field of characteristic $p$. Let $\mathbb{G}(\mathcal{O}_2)$ and $\mathbb{G}(\mathcal{O}'_2)$, be the group of points of any reductive group scheme $\mathbb{G}$ over $\mathbb{Z}$ such that $p$ is very good for $\mathbb{G} \times \mathbb{F}_q$. We prove that there exists an isomorphism of group algebra $K[\mathbb{G}(\mathcal{O}_2)] \cong K[\mathbb{G}(\mathcal{O}'_2)]$, where $K$ is a sufficiently large field of characteristic different from $p$.
We consider the spherical complementary series of rank one Lie groups $H_n=\SO_0(n, 1; \mathbb F)$ for $\mathbb F=\mathbb R, \mathbb C, \mathbb H$. We prove that there exist finitely many discrete components in its restriction under the subgroup $H_{n-1}=\SO_0(n-1, 1; \mathbb F)$. This is proved by imbedding the complementary series into analytic continuation of holomorphic discrete series of $G_n=SU(n, 1)$, $SU(n, 1)\times SU(n, 1)$ and $SU(2n, 2)$ and by the branching of holomorphic representations under the corresponding subgroup $G_{n-1}$.
Let $s$ be even and $q=p^s$. We show that the ring $W(\mathbb{F}_{q})[\![X]\!]/(X^2-pX)$ is a quotient of the universal deformation ring of a representation of a finite group. This amounts to giving an example of a finite group and its $\mathbb{F}_q$-representation that lifts to $W(\mathbb{F}_q)$ in two different ways and satisfies certain subtle extra conditions. We achieve this by studying representations of $\mathrm{SL}(2,\mathbb{F}_{p^2})$.
The unitary dual of $GL(n, \mathbb{R})$ was classified by Vogan in the 1980s. Focusing on the irreducible unitary representations of $GL(n, \mathbb{R})$ with half-integral infinitesimal characters, we find that Speh representations and the special unipotent representations are building blocks. By looking at the $K$-types of them, and by using a Blattner-type formula, we obtain all the irreducible unitary $(\mathfrak{g}, K)$-modules with non-zero Dirac cohomology of $GL(n, \mathbb{R})$, as well as a formula for (one of) their spin-lowest $K$-types. Moreover, analogous to the $GL(n,\mathbb{C})$ …
We compute the Hochschild cohomology algebras of Ringel-self-dual blocks of polynomial representations of $\GL_2$ over an algebraically closed field of characteristic $p>2$, that is, of any block whose number of simple modules is a power of $p$. These algebras are finite-dimensional and we provide an explicit description of their bases and multiplications.
