The properties of the space $\A$ of regular connections as a subset of the space $\Ab$ of generalized connections in the Ashtekar framework are studied. For every choice of compact structure group and smoothness category for the paths it is determined whether $\A$ is dense in $\Ab$ or not. Moreover, it is proven that $\A$ has Ashtekar-Lewandowski measure zero for every nontrivial structure group and every smoothness category. The analogous results hold for gauge orbits instead of connections.
We first extend Generalized Differential Calculus (GDC) to higher structures and create generalized G-invariant bilinear forms. In addition, we also focus on developing generalized 2- and 3-connection theories in the framework of GDC. Then, we derive the higher Bianchi-Identities and study the gauge transformations for those generalized higher connections. Finally, we establish the generalized 2- and 3-form Yang-Mills theories based on GDC and obtain the corresponding fields equations.
We start by presenting a generalization of a discrete wave equation that is particularly satisfied by the entries of the matrix coefficients of the refinement equation corresponding to the multiresolution analysis of Alpert. The entries are in fact functions of two discrete variables and they can be expressed in terms of the Legendre polynomials. Next, we generalize these functions to the case of the ultraspherical polynomials and show that these new functions obey two generalized eigenvalue problems in each of the two discrete variables, which constitute a generalized bispectral problem. We establish codimension 4 regularity of noncollapsed sequences of metrics with bounds on natural generalizations of the Ricci tensor. We obtain a priori L2 curvature estimates on such spaces, with diffeomorphism finiteness results and rigidity theorems as corollaries.
