Despite its non-linear form, entangled relativity possesses both general relativity and standard quantum field theory in a specific (but generic) limit. On one side it means that the theory is consistent with our current understanding of elementary physics. But on the other side it means that our current understanding might actually just be approximately valid: and this, surprisingly, goes for both \textit{general relativity} and standard quantum field theory together.
It is argued that de Sitter space-times might be solutions of entangled relativity once the quantum trace anomaly from matter fields in curved space-times is taken into account. This hypothesis would be an elegant solution to the acceleration of the expansion of the universe within the rigid framework of entangled relativity.
In this manuscript, we show that the external Schwarzschild metric can be a good approximation of exact black hole solutions of entangled relativity. Since entangled relativity cannot be defined from vacuum, the demonstrations need to rely on the definition of matter fields. The electromagnetic field being the easiest (and perhaps the only) existing matter field with infinite range to consider, we study the case of a charged black hole -- for which the solution of entangled relativity and a dilaton theory agree -- as well as the case of a pure radiation -- for which the solution of entangled r…
We describe the first numerical Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkoff solutions of compact objects in entangled relativity, which is an alternative to the framework of general relativity that does not have any additional free parameter. Assuming a simple polytropic equation of state and the conservation of the rest-mass density, we notably show that, for any given density, compact objects are always heavier (up to $\sim 8\%$) in entangled relativity than in general relativity -- for any given central density within the usual range of neutron stars' central densities, or for a given radius of the resultin…
I present two results that show that, despite its unusual non-linear form, the phenomenology of entangled relativity remains close to the one of general relativity -- without having any free parameter that can be fine tuned in order to facilitate this. In particular, I present the analytical solutions for spherically charged black-holes, and both the analytical and numerical solutions for neutron stars.

In this manuscript, we present analytical external spherical solutions of entangled relativity, which we compare to numerical solutions obtained in a Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkoff framework. Analytical and numerical solutions match perfectly well outside spherical compact objects, therefore validating both types of solutions at the same time. The analytical external (hairy) solutions -- which depend on two parameters only -- may be used in order to easily compute observables -- such as X-ray pusle profiles -- without having to rely on an unknown equation of state for matter inside the compact obj…
The goal of this work was to investigate the propagation of the constraints in the ghost-free bimetric theory where the evolution equations are in standard 3+1 form. It is established that the constraints evolve according to a first-order symmetric hyperbolic system whose characteristic cone consists of the null cones of the two metrics. Consequently, the constraint evolution equations are well-posed, and the constraints stably propagate.
It is said that there are no accidents or coincidences in physics. Within the minimal standard model combined with general relativity we point out that there are three exceptionally-long lifetimes which are consistent with being equal, and hence that there are two unexplained coincidences.
The recently proposed ER=EPR correspondence postulates the existence of wormholes (Einstein-Rosen bridges) between entangled states (such as EPR pairs). Entanglement is famously known to be unobservable in quantum mechanics, in that there exists no observable (or, equivalently, projector) that can accurately pick out whether a generic state is entangled. Many features of the geometry of spacetime, however, are observables, so one might worry that the presence or absence of a wormhole could identify an entangled state in ER=EPR, violating quantum mechanics, specifically, the property of state-i…
The equivalence principle and its universality enables the geometrical formulation of gravity. In the standard formulation of General Relativity á la Einstein, the gravitational interaction is geometrized in terms of the spacetime curvature. However, if we embrace the geometrical character of gravity, two alternative, though equivalent, formulations of General Relativity emerge in flat spacetimes, in which gravity is fully ascribed either to torsion or to non-metricity. The latter allows a much simpler formulation of General Relativity oblivious to the affine spacetime structure, the Coinciden…
We derive a generalized deviation equation -- analogous to the well-known geodesic deviation equation -- for test bodies in General Relativity. Our result encompasses and generalizes previous extensions of the standard geodesic deviation equation. We show how the standard as well as a generalized deviation equation can be used to measure the curvature of spacetime by means of a set of test bodies. In particular, we provide exact solutions for the curvature by using the standard deviation equation as well as its next order generalization.
We find initial data for numerical relativity simulations of inhomogeneous cosmologies. This involves treating an exceptional case of the general relativity constraint equations. We devise analytic and numerical methods to treat this exceptional case. We apply the analytic method to the standard case of cosmology with a single scalar field. The numerical method is applied to the two-field ekpyrotic cosmology.
Gauge fields associated to the Dirac matrix algebra used with the standard quadratic gauge field Lagrangian lead to an extended gravitational Lagrangian which includes the Einstein-Hilbert one, plus quadratic, cosmological constant and torsion terms. This note looks at three cases : the static central symmetric field, the isotropic expanding universe, and the asymptotic field of a rotating body, and show that, in weak gravitational fields, there is no contradiction with General Relativity results.
Alternative theories of gravity predict modifications in the propagation of gravitational waves (GW) through space-time. One of the smoking-gun predictions of such theories is the change in the GW luminosity distance to GW sources as a function of redshift relative to the electromagnetic (EM) luminosity distance expected from EM probes. We propose a multi-messenger test of the theory of general relativity from the propagation of gravitational waves by combining EM and GW observations to resolve these issues from GW sources without EM counterparts (which are also referred to as dark standard si…
