We prove that a compact Riemannian manifold of dimension $m \geq 3$ with harmonic curvature and $\lfloor\frac{m-1}{2}\rfloor$-positive curvature operator has constant sectional curvature, extending the classical Tachibana theorem for manifolds with positive curvature operator. The condition of $\lfloor\frac{m-1}{2}\rfloor$-positivity originates from recent work of Petersen and Wink, who proved a similar Tachibana-type theorem under the stronger condition that the manifold be Einstein. We show that the same rigidity property holds for complete manifolds assuming either parabolicity, an integral bound on the Weyl tensor or a stronger pointwise positive lower bound on the average of the first $\lfloor\frac{m-1}{2}\rfloor$ eigenvalues of the curvature operator. For 3-manifolds, we show that positivity of the curvature operator can be relaxed to positivity of the Ricci tensor.
We present definitions and properties of conformal Killing, Killing and planarity forms on a Riemannian manifold and determine Tachibana, Killing and planarity numbers as an analog of the well known Betti numbers. We state some set of conditions to characterize these numbers. Moreover, we formulate the main results on the relationship between the Betti, Tachibana, Killing and planarity numbers.
Throughout the history of Einstein manifolds, differential geometers have shown great interest in finding the relationships between curvature and the topology of Einstein manifolds. In the paper, first, we prove that a compact Einstein manifold $(M,g)$ with Einstein constant $α>0$ is a homo-logical sphere when the minimum of its sectional curvatures $> α/(n+ 2)$; in particular, $(M,g)$ is a spherical space form when the minimum of its sectional curvatures $> α/ n$. Second, we prove two propositions (similar to the above ones) for Tachibana numbers of a compact Einstein manifold $(M,g)$ with $α…
We present a rough classification of differential forms on a Riemannian manifold, we consider definitions and properties of conformal Killing forms on a compact Riemannian manifold and define Tachibana numbers as an analog of the well known Betti numbers. We state the conditions that characterize these numbers. In the last section we show connections between the Betti and Tachibana numbers.
The purpose of this paper is to define the r-th Tachibana number t(r) of an n-dimentional closed and oriented Riemannian manifold (M,g) as the dimension of the space of all conformal Killing r-forms for r=1,2,...,n-1 and to formulate some properties of these numbers as an analogue to properties of the r-th Betty number b(r) of a closed and oriented Riemannian manifold.
We derive point-wise and integral rigidity/gap results for a closed manifold with harmonic Weyl curvature in any dimension. In particular, there is a generalization of Tachibana's theorem for non-negative curvature operator. The key ingredients are new Bochner-Weitzenböck-Lichnerowicz type formulas for the Weyl tensor, which are generalizations of identities in dimension four.

In the present paper we prove Liouville-type theorems: non-existence theorems for some complete Riemannian almost product manifolds and special mappings of complete Riemannian manifolds which generalize similar results for compact manifolds.
In this paper, we prove a Liouville theorem for holomorphic functions on a class of complete Gauduchon manifolds. This generalizes a result of Yau for complete Kähler manifolds to the complete non-Kähler case.
In this paper, we consider the Yamabe equation on a complete noncompact Riemannian manifold and find some geometric conditions on the manifold such that the Yamabe problem admits a bounded positive solution.
For any k which is at least 2, we exhibit complete k-curvature homogeneous neutral signature pseudo-Riemannian manifolds which are not k+1-affine curvature homogeneous, and hence not locally homogeneous. All the local scalar Weyl invariants of these manifolds vanish. These manifolds are Ricci flat, Osserman, and Ivanov-Petrova.
In this paper, we mainly study Liouville theorem of V T harmonic map from complete noncompact manifold into horoball in Cartan-Hardmard manifold. To this aim, we will establish gradient estimates under some condition on and V and T.
Though Trudinger-Moser inequalities on compact Riemannian manifolds or Euclidean space are well understood, we know little about them on complete noncompact Riemannian manifolds. In this paper, we established respectively necessary condition and sufficient condition under which Trudinger-Moser inequalities hold on complete noncompact Riemannian manifolds. For applications of such inequalities, we obtained existence results for some quasilinear equations with nonlinearity of exponential growth.
We give a classification for connected complete locally irreducible Riemannian manifolds with nonpositive curvature operator, which admit a nonzero closed or co-closed conformal Killing $L^{2}-$form. Moreover, we prove vanishing theorems for closed and co-closed conformal Killing $L^{2}-$forms on some complete Riemannian manifolds.
In this paper, we study the interplay of geometry and positive scalar curvature on a complete, non-compact manifold with non-negative Ricci curvature. In three-dimensional manifold, we prove a minimal volume growth, an estimate of integral of scalar curvature and width. In higher dimensional manifold, we obtain a volume growth with a stronger condition.
To study a noncompact Riemannian manifold, it is often useful to find a compactification. We discuss several common compactifications and survey some recent results.
We give a conceptual proof of the fact that if M is a complete submanifold of a space form, then the maximal integral manifolds of the nullity distribution of its second fundamental form through points of minimal index of nullity are complete.
It is proved that the fundamental group of a complete Riemannian manifold with nonnegative Ricci curvature and certain volume growth conditions is trivial or finite.
We prove the existence of a solution of the Yamabe equation on complete manifolds with finite volume and positive Yamabe invariant. In order to circumvent the standard methods on closed manifolds which heavily rely on global (compact) Sobolev embeddings we approximate the solution by eigenfunctions of certain conformal complete metrics. This also gives rise to a new proof of the well-known result for closed manifolds and positive Yamabe invariant.
In this paper we study the extension of holomorphic canonical forms on complete d-bounded Kahler manifolds by using L2 analytic methods and L2 Hogde theory, which generalizes some classical results to noncompact cases.
For k at least 2, we exhibit complete k-curvature homogeneous neutral signature pseudo-Riemannian manifolds which are not locally affine homogeneous (and hence not locally homogeneous). The curvature tensor of these manifolds is modeled on that of an indecomposible symmetric space. All the local scalar Weyl curvature invariants of these manifolds vanish.
In this article, we study the L2-transverse conformal Killing forms on complete foliated Riemannian manifolds and prove some vanishing theorems. Also, we study the same problems on Kahler foliations with a complete bundle-like metric.
On a compact foliated Riemannian manifold with some transversal curvature conditions, there are no nontrivial basic harmonic forms (M. Min-Oo et al., J. Reine Angew. Math. 415 (1991). In this paper, we extend the above facts to a complete foliated Riemannian manifold.
In this paper, we will give a horizontal gradient estimate of positive solutions of $Δ_b u = - λu$ on complete noncompact pseudo-Hermitian manifolds. As a consequence, we recapture the Liouville theorem of positive pseudo-harmonic functions on Sasakian manifolds with nonnegative pseudo-Hermitian Ricci curvature.
Using the classical approach we show the existence of disc type solutions to the asymptotic Plateau problem in certain Hadamard manifolds which may have arbitrarily strong curvature and volume growth.
In this paper, we show several rigidity results for harmonic $(p,q)$-forms in complete Kähler manifolds. We also give several applications to study non-compact Kähler manifolds with parallel Bochner tensor or quaternion Kähler manifolds. Our results are natural extensions of Petersen and Wink's results in \cite{PW21, PW} in the setting of complete, non-compact Kähler manifolds.
We prove that complete Riemannian manifolds with polynomial growth and Ricci curvature bounded from below, admit uniform Poincaré inequalities. A global, uniform Poincaré inequality for horospheres in the universal cover of a closed, $n$-dimensional Riemannian manifold with pinched negative sectional curvature follows as a corollary.
In this paper we prove that for a complete, connected and oriented Käler affine manifold $(M,G)$ of dimension $n,$ if it is Kähler affine Ricci flat or the K$\ddot{a}$hler affine scalar curvature $S\equiv0,$ ($n\leq 5$), then the universal covering manifold $\widetilde{M}$ of $M$ is isometric to the Euclidean n-space $E^{n}$.
In this short note, we consider gradient estimates for positive solutions to the following nonlinear elliptic equation on a complete Riemannian manifold: $$Δu+cu^α=0,$$ where $c, α$ are two real constants and $c\neq 0$.
We prove several Liouville-type non-existence theorems for higher order Codazzi tensors and classical Codazzi tensors on complete and compact Riemannian manifolds, in particular. These results will be obtained by using theorems of the connections between the geometry of a complete smooth manifold and the global behavior of its subharmonic functions. In conclusion, we show applications of this method for global geometry of a complete locally conformally flat Riemannian manifold with constant scalar curvature because its Ricci tensor is a Codazzi tensor and for global geometry of a complete hype…
For a complete symplectic manifold $M^{2n}$, we define the $L^{2}$-hard Lefschetz property on $M^{2n}$. We also prove that the complete symplectic manifold $M^{2n}$ satisfies $L^{2}$-hard Lefschetz property if and only if every class of $L^{2}$-harmonic forms contains a $L^{2}$ symplectic harmonic form. As an application, we get if $M^{2n}$ is a closed symplectic parabolic manifold which satisfies the hard Lefschetz property, then its Euler characteristic satisfies the inequality $(-1)^{n}χ(M^{2n})\geq0$.
In this article, we first consider the $L^{2}$ \textit{Morse-Novikov cohomology} on a complete Riemannian manifold $M$ equipped with a parallel $1$-form which includes Vaisman manifold. Based on a vanishing theorem of $L^{2}$ \textit{Morse-Novikov cohomology}, we prove that the $L^{2}$-harmonic forms on $M$ are identically zero.
We consider biharmonic maps $ϕ:(M,g)\rightarrow (N,h)$ from a complete Riemannian manifold into a Riemannian manifold with non-positive sectional curvature. Assume that $α$ satisfies $1<α<\infty$. If for such an $α$, $\int_M|τ(ϕ)|^αdv_g<\infty$ and $\int_M|dϕ|^2dv_g<\infty,$ where $τ(ϕ)$ is the tension field of $ϕ$, then we show that $ϕ$ is harmonic. For a biharmonic submanifold, we obtain that the above assumption $\int_M|dϕ|^2dv_g<\infty$ is not necessary. These results give affirmative partial answers to the global version of generalized Chen's conjecture.
In 1941 Sumner Myers proved that if the Ricci curvature of a complete Riemann manifold has a positive infimum then the manifold is compact and its diameter is bounded in terms of the infimum. Subsequently the curvature hypothesis has been weakened, and in this paper we weaken it further in an attempt to find the ultimate, sharp result.
In this paper, we prove that the $L^p$ essential spectra of the Laplacian on functions are $[0,+\infty)$ on a non-compact complete Riemannian manifold with non-negative Ricci curvature at infinity. The similar method applies to gradient shrinking Ricci soliton, which is similar to non-compact manifold with non-negative Ricci curvature in many ways.
We show that for any complete connected Kähler manifold the index of the group of complex affine transformations in the group of c-projective transformations is at most two unless the Kähler manifold is isometric to complex projective space equipped with a positive constant multiple of the Fubini-Study metric. This establishes a stronger version of the recently proved Yano-Obata conjecture for complete Kähler manifolds.
For complete Riemannian manifolds with vanishing Bach tensor and positive constant scalar curvature, we provide a rigidity theorem characterized by some pointwise inequalities. Furthermore, we prove some rigidity results under an inequality involving $L^{\frac{n}{2}}$-norm of the Weyl curvature, the traceless Ricci curvature and the Sobolev constant.
In this paper, we are going to show some rigidity results for complete open Riemannian manifolds with nonnegative scalar curvature. Without using the famous Cheeger-Gromoll splitting theorem we give a new proof to a rigidity result for complete manifolds with nonnegative scalar curvature admitting a proper smooth map to $T^{n-1}\times \mathbf R$ with nonzero degree. Here we introduce a trick to obtain the compactness of limit hypersurface from locally graphical convergence. Based on the same idea we also establish an optimal $2$-systole inequality for several classes of complete Riemannian man…
We give an elementary proof to the asymptotic expansion formula of Rochon-Zhang for the unique complete Kähler-Einstein metric of Cheng-Yau, Kobayashi, Tian-Yau and Bando on quasi-projective manifolds. The main tools are the solution formula for second order ODE's with constant coefficients and spectral theory for Laplacian operator on a closed manifold.
In this paper we give Hamilton's Laplacian estimates for the heat equation on complete noncompact manifolds with nonnegative Ricci curvature. As an application, combining Li-Yau's lower and upper bounds of the heat kernel, we give an estimate on Laplacian form of the heat kernel on complete manifolds with nonnegative Ricci curvature that is sharp in the order of time parameter for the heat kernel on the Euclidean space.
This note is concerned with some essential properties (optimal isoperimetry, first variation, and monotonicity formula) of the so-called $[0,1)\niγ$-torsional rigidity $\mathcal{T}_{γ,\mathsf{g}}$ on a complete Riemannian two-manifold $(\mathbb M^2,\mathsf{g})$. Even in the special case of $\mathbb R^2$, major results are new.
In this paper, we solve the so-called CR Poincaré-Lelong equation by solving the CR Poisson equation on a complete noncompact CR $(2n+1)$-manifold with nonegative pseudohermitian bisectional curvature tensors and vanishing torsion which is an odd dimensional counterpart of Kähler geometry. With applications of this solution plus the CR Liouvelle property, we study the structures of complete noncompact Sasakian manifolds and CR Yamabe steady solitons.
