Let $\mathcal{S}$ denote the class of functions $f$ which are analytic and univalent in the unit disk ${\mathbb D}=\{z:|z|<1\}$ and normalized with $f(z)=z+\sum_{n=2}^{\infty} a_n z^n$. Using a method based on Grusky coefficients we study two problems over the class $\mathcal{S}$: estimate of the fourth logarithmic coefficient and upper bound of the coefficient difference $|a_5|-|a_4|$.
A. Grinshpan posed a deep conjecture on the norm of the Grunsky operator generated by univalent functions in the disk. It gives a quantitative answer in terms of the Grunsky coefficients, to which extent a univalent function determines the bound of dilatations of its quasiconformal extensions. We provide the proof of this conjecture and its various analytic, geometric and potential applications. Another result concerns the model of universal Teichmuller space by Grunsky coefficients.
The method of Grunsky inequalities has many applications and has been extended in many directions, even to bordered Riemann surfaces. However, unlike the case of functions univalent in the disk, a quasiconformal variant of this theory has not been developed so far. In this paper, we essentially improve the basic facts concerning the classical Grunsky inequalities for univalent functions on the disk and extend these results to arbitrary quasiconformal disks. Several applications are given.
A univalent meromorphic function defined on $Δ:= \{z \in \mathbb{C}: 1<|z|<\infty \}$ with univalent inverse defined on $Δ$ is bi-univalent meromorphic in $Δ$. For certain subclasses of meromorphic bi-univalent functions, estimates on the initial coefficients are obtained.
A bi-univalent function is a univalent function defined on the unit disk with its inverse also univalent on the unit disk. Estimates for the initial coefficients are obtained for bi-univalent functions belonging to certain classes defined by subordination and relevant connections with earlier results are pointed out.
We study the behavior of the initial coefficients of univalent functions under the Steiner symmetrization, and give some applications to functions of class Σ.
An analytic function $f$ defined on the open unit disk $\mathbb{D}=\{z:|z|<1\}$ is bi-univalent if the function $f$ and its inverse $f^{-1}$ are univalent in $\mathbb{D}$. Estimates for the initial coefficients of bi-univalent functions $f$ are investigated when $f$ and $f^{-1}$ respectively belong to some subclasses of univalent functions. Some earlier results are shown to be special cases of our results.
In this work, considering a general subclass of bi-univalent functions and using the Chebyshev polynomials, we obtain coefficient expansions for functions in this class.
The purpose of the present paper is to establish connections between various subclasses of analytic univalent functions by applying certain convolution operator involving Touchard polynomials. To be more precise, we investigate such connections with the classes of analytic univalent functions with positive coefficients in the open unit disk U.
By using the theory of first-order differential subordination for functions with fixed initial coefficient, several well-known results for subclasses of univalent functions are improved by restricting the functions to have fixed second coefficient. The influence of the second coefficient of univalent functions is evident in the results obtained.
In this paper we extend the concept of bi-univalent to the class of meromorphic functions. We propose to investigate the coefficient estimates for two classes of meromorphic bi-univalent functions. Also, we find estimates on the coefficients |b0| and |b1| for functions in these new classes. Some interesting remarks and applications of the results presented here are also discussed.
Estimates for initial coefficients of Taylor-Maclaurin series of bi-univalent functions belonging to certain classes defined by subordination are obtained. Our estimates improve upon the earlier known estimates for second and third coefficient. The bound for the fourth coefficient is new. In addition, bound for the fifth coefficient is obtained for bi-starlike and strongly bi-starlike functions of order $ρ$ and $β$ respectively.
Estimates are obtained for the initial coefficients of a normalized analytic function $f$ in the unit disk $\mathbb{D}$ such that $f$ and the analytic extension of $f^{-1}$ to $\mathbb{D}$ belong to certain subclasses of univalent functions. The bounds obtained improve some existing known bounds.
In this paper we study class $\mathcal{S}^+$ of univalent functions $f$ such that $\frac{z}{f(z)}$ has real and positive coefficients. For such functions we give estimates of the Fekete-Szegő functional and sharp estimates of their initial coefficients and logarithmic coefficients. Also, we present necessary and sufficient conditions for $f\in \mathcal{S}^+$ to be starlike of order $1/2$.
In this paper, estimates for second and third MacLaurin coefficients of certain subclasses of bi-univalent functions in the open unit disk defined by convolution are determined, and certain special cases are also indicated. The main result extends and improve a recent one obtained by Srivastava et al.
Let $\mathcal{S}$ denote the family of all functions that are analytic and univalent in the unit disk $\mathbb{D}:=\{z: |z|<1\}$ and satisfy $f(0)=f^{\prime}(0)-1=0$. In the present paper, we consider certain subclasses of univalent functions associated with the exponential function, and obtain the sharp upper bounds on the initial coefficients and the difference of initial successive coefficients for functions belonging to these classes.
In this paper, we investigate the sharp bounds of the second Hankel determinant of Logarithmic coefficients for the starlike and convex functions with respect to symmetric points in the open unit disk.
The purpose of the present paper is to introduce a new subclasses of the function class of bi-univalent functions defined in the open unit disc. Furthermore, we obtain estimates on the coefficients $|a_{2}|$ and $|a_{3}|$ for functions of this class. Some results related to this work will be briefly indicated.
We consider a family of all analytic and univalent functions in the unit disk of the form $f(z)=z+a_2z^2+a_3z^3+\cdots$. The aim of this article is to investigate the bounds of the difference of moduli of initial successive coefficients, i.e. $\big | |a_{n+1}|-|a_n|\big |$ for $n=1,\,2$ and for some subclasses of analytic univalent functions. We found that all the estimations are sharp in nature by constructing some extremal functions.
In the present investigation, we consider two new subclasses N_{Σ}^{μ}(α,λ) and N_{Σ}^{μ}(β,λ) of bi-univalent functions defined in the open unit disk U={z:|z|<1}. Besides, we find upper bounds for the second and third coefficients for functions in these new subclasses.
The object of this paper is to study relationship between successive coefficients of some subclasses of the class of univalent functions in the unit disk. the result obtained is sharp, and is used to provide a new, short proof of the well-known conjecture of Robertson on the coefficients of close-to-convex functions.
In the present paper, we were mainly concerned with obtaining estimates for the general Taylor-Maclaurin coefficients for functions in a certain general subclass of analytic bi-univalent functions. For this purpose, we used the Faber polynomial expansions. Several connections to some of the earlier known results are also pointed out.
In this paper we determine the upper bounds of $|H_{2}(3)|$ for the inverse functions of functions of some classes of univalent functions, where $H_{2}(3)(f)=a_{3}a_{5}-a_{4}^{2}$ is the Hankel determinant of a special type.
B. Friedman found in his 1946 paper that the set of analytic univalent functions on the unit disk in the complex plane with integral Taylor coefficients consists of nine functions. In the present paper, we prove that the similar set obtained by replacing "integral" by "half-integral" consists of another twelve functions in addition to the nine. We also observe geometric properties of the twelve functions.
Let $\mathcal{S}$ denote the class of analytic and univalent functions in $\mathbb{D}:=\{z\in\mathbb{C}:\, |z|<1\}$ of the form $f(z)= z+\sum_{n=2}^{\infty}a_n z^n$. In this paper, we determine sharp estimates for the Toeplitz determinants whose elements are the Taylor coefficients of functions in $\mathcal{S}$ and its certain subclasses. We also discuss similar problems for typically real functions.
Let ${\mathcal S}$ denote the set of all univalent analytic functions $f(z)=z+\sum_{n=2}^{\infty}a_n z^n$ on the unit disk $|z|<1$. In 1946 B. Friedman found that the set $\mathcal S$ of those functions which have integer coefficients consists of only nine functions. In a recent paper Hiranuma and Sugawa proved that the similar set obtained for the functions with half-integer coefficients consists of twelve functions in addition to the nine. In this paper, the main aim is to discuss the class of all sense-preserving univalent harmonic mappings $f$ on the unit disk with integer or half-integer …
We consider functions of the type $f(z)=z+a_2z^2+a_3z^3+\cdots$ from a family of all analytic and univalent functions in the unit disk. Let $F$ be the inverse function of $f$, given by $F(z)=w+\sum_{n=2}^{\infty}A_nw^n$ defined on some $|w|\le r_0(f)$. In this paper, we find the sharp bounds of $\big | |A_{n+1}|-|A_n|\big |$, for $n=1,\,2$, for some subclasses of univalent functions.
In this paper, we first prove the coefficient conjecture of Clunie and Sheil-Small for a class of univalent harmonic functions which includes functions convex in some direction. Next, we prove growth and covering theorems and some related results. Finally, we propose two conjectures. An affirmative answer to one of which would then imply for example a solution to the conjecture of Clunie and Sheil-Small.
In this paper, we investigate a new subclass of analytic and m-fold symmetric bi-univalent functions satisfying subordination in the open unit disk U. We consider the Fekete-Szegö inequalities for this class. Also, we establish estimates for the coefficients for this subclas and several related classes are also considered and connections to earlier known results are made.
In this paper we introduce and investigate two new subclasses of the function class $Σ$ of bi-univalent functions of complex order defined in the open unit disk, which are associated with the Hohlov operator, and satisfying subordinate conditions. Furthermore, we find estimates on the Taylor-MacLaurin coefficients $|a_2|$ and $|a_3|$ for functions in these new subclasses. Several known or new consequences of these results are also pointed out.
Our objective in this paper is to introduce and investigate comprehensive-constructed subclasses of normalized analytic and bi-univalent functions on the unit open disc. Bounds for the second and third Tayler-Maclaurin coefficients of functions belonging to this subclasses were investigated. Furthermore, some improvement and connections to some of the previous known results are also pointed out.
Inspired by the recent works of Srivastava et al. (HMS-AKM-PG), Frasin and Aouf (BAF-MKA) and others (Ali-Ravi-Ma-Mina-class,Caglar-Orhan,Goyal-Goswami,Xu-HMS-AML,Xu-HMS-AMC), we propose to investigate the coefficient estimates for a general class of analytic and bi-univalent functions. Also, we obtain estimates on the coefficients |a2| and |a3| for functions in this new class. Some interesting remarks, corollaries and applications of the results presented here are also discussed.
For the real number $α>1$, we use a technique due to Nehari and Netanyahu and an application of certain integral iteration of Caratheodory functions to find the best-possible upper bounds on the coefficients of functions of the class $T_n^α(β)$ introduced in \cite{TOO} by Opoola.
In this study, a subclass of an univalent function with negative coefficients which is defined by a new general Linear operator have been introduced. The sharp results for coefficients estimators, distortion and closure bounds, Hadamard product, and Neighborhood, and this paper deals with the utilizing of many of the results for classical hypergeometric function, where there can be generalized to m-hypergeometric functions. A subclasses of univalent functions are presented, and it has involving operator which generalizes many well-known. Denote A the class of functions f and we have other resu…
Estimates on the initial coefficients are obtained for normalized analytic functions $f$ in the open unit disk with $f$ and its inverse $g=f^{-1}$ satisfying the conditions that $zf'(z)/f(z)$ and $zg'(z)/g(z)$ are both subordinate to a starlike univalent function whose range is symmetric with respect to the real axis. Several related classes of functions are also considered, and connections to earlier known results are made.
For univalent and normalized functions $f$ the logarithmic coefficients $γ_n(f)$ are determined by the formula $\log(f(z)/z)=\sum_{n=1}^{\infty}2γ_n(f)z^n$. In the paper \cite{Pon} the authors posed the conjecture that a locally univalent function in the unit disk, satisfying the condition \[ \Re\left\{1+zf''(z)/f'(z)\right\}<1+λ/2\quad (z\in \mathbb{D}), \] fulfill also the following inequality: $$|γ_n(f)|\le λ/(2n(n+1)).$$ Here $λ$ is a real number such that $0<λ\le 1$. In the paper we confirm that the conjecture is true, and sharp.
Let ${\mathcal U}^+$ be the class of analytic functions $f$ such that $\frac{z}{f(z)}$ has real and positive coefficients and $f^{-1}$ be its inverse. In this paper we give sharp estimates of the initial coefficients and initial logarithmic coefficients for $f$, as well as, sharp estimates of the second and the third Hankel determinant for $f$ and $f^{-1}$. We also show that the Zalcman conjecture holds for functions $f$ from ${\mathcal U}^+$.
In this paper, we obtain the Fekete-Szegö problem for the $k$-th $(k\geq1)$ root transform of the analytic and normalized functions $f$ satisfying the condition \begin{equation*} 1+\frac{α-π}{2 \sin α}< {\rm Re}\left\{\frac{zf'(z)}{f(z)}\right\} < 1+\fracα{2\sin α} \quad (|z|<1), \end{equation*} where $π/2\leq α<π$. Afterwards, by the above two-sided inequality we introduce and investigate a certain subclass of analytic and bi-univalent functions in the disk $|z|<1$ and obtain upper bounds for the first few coefficients and Fekete-Szegö problem for functions belonging to this analytic and bi-u…
In this paper, a comprehensive subclass of bi-univalent functions class are introduced and investigated. Using the Faber polynomials, estimation of the coefficients $|a_n|$ and certain Fekete-Szegö inequality of Maclaurin expansion of functions in this subclass are concluded. Finally, some earlier results are pointed out and improved.
In this paper, we introduce the subclass $SHP^{-m}(α,β)$ using integral operator and give sufficient coefficient conditions for normalized harmonic univalent function in the subclass $SHP^{-m}(α,β)$.These conditions are also shown to be necessary when the coefficients are negative.
For $f\in \mathcal{S}$, the class of normalized functions, analytic and univalent in the unit disk $\mathbb{D}$ and given by $f(z)=z+\sum_{n=2}^{\infty} a_n z^n$ for $z\in \mathbb{D}$, we give an upper bound for the coefficient difference $|a_4|-|a_3|$ when $f\in \mathcal{S}$. This provides an improved bound in the case $n=3$ of Grispan's 1976 general bound $||a_{n+1}|-|a_n||\le 3.61\dots .$ Other coefficients bounds, and bounds for the second and third Hankel determinants when $f\in \mathcal{S}$ are found when either $a_2=0,$ or $a_3=0$.
Let $\mathcal{S}_H^0$ denote the class of all functions $f(z)=h(z)+\overline{g(z)}=z+\sum^\infty_{n=2} a_nz^n +\overline{\sum^\infty_{n=2} b_nz^n}$ that are sense-preserving, harmonic and univalent in the open unit disk $|z|<1$. The coefficient conjecture for $\mathcal{S}_H^0$ is still \emph{open} even for $|a_2|$. The aim of this paper is to show that if $f=h+\overline{g} \in \mathcal{S}^0_H$ then $ |a_n| < 5.24 \times 10^{-6} n^{17}$ and $|b_n| < 2.32 \times 10^{-7}n^{17}$ for all $n \geq 3$. Making use of these coefficient estimates, we also obtain radius of univalence of sections of unival…
In this paper, we obtain coefficient criteria for a normalized harmonic function defined in the unit disk to be close-to-convex and fully starlike, respectively. Using these coefficient conditions, we present different classes of harmonic close-to-convex (resp. fully starlike) functions involving Gaussian hypergeometric functions. In addition, we present a convolution characterization for a class of univalent harmonic functions discussed recently by Mocanu, and later by Bshouty and Lyzzaik in 2010. Our approach provide examples of harmonic polynomials that are close-to-convex and starlike, res…
We investigate the invariant metrics and complex geodesics in the universal Teichmüller space and Teichmüller space of the punctured disk using Milin's coefficient inequalities. This technique allows us to establish that all non-expanding invariant metrics in either of these spaces coincide with its intrinsic Teichmüller metric. Other applications concern the variational theory for univalent functions with quasiconformal extension. It turns out that geometric features caused by the equality of metrics and connection with complex geodesics provide deep distortion results for various classes of …
Let $\ID$ denote the open unit disk and $f:\,\ID\TO\BAR\IC$ be meromorphic and univalent in $\ID$ with the simple pole at $p\in (0,1)$ and satisfying the standard normalization $f(0)=f'(0)-1=0$. Also, let $f$ have the expansion $$f(z)=\sum_{n=-1}^{\infty}a_n(z-p)^n,\quad |z-p|<1-p, $$ such that $f$ maps $\ID$ onto a domain whose complement with respect to $\BAR{\IC}$ is a convex set (starlike set with respect to a point $w_0\in \IC, w_0\neq 0$ resp.). We call these functions as concave (meromorphically starlike resp.) univalent functions and denote this class by $Co(p)$ $(Σ^s(p, w_0)$ resp.). …
Inspired by the recent works of Srivastava et al. (2010), Frasin and Aouf (2011), and Caglar et al. (2013), we introduce and investigate in the present paper two new general subclasses of the class consisting of normalized analytic and bi-univalent functions in the open unit disk U. For functions belonging to these general subclasses introduced here, we obtain estimates on the Taylor-Maclaurin coefficients |a_2| and |a_3|. Several connections to some of the earlier known results are also pointed out. The results presented in this paper would generalize and improve those in related works of sev…
We study a family of harmonic univalent functions in the open unit disc defined by using post quantum calculus operators. We first obtained a coefficient characterization of these functions. Using this, coefficients estimates, distortion and covering theorems were also obtained. The extreme points of the family and a radius result were also obtained. The results obtained include several known results as special cases.
In this work, we consider certain class of bi-univalent functions related with shell-like curves related to $κ-$Fibonacci numbers. Further, we obtain the estimates of initial Taylor-Maclaurin coefficients (second and third coefficients) and Fekete - Szegö inequalities. Also we discuss the special cases of the obtained results.
