For univalent and normalized functions $f$ the logarithmic coefficients $γ_n(f)$ are determined by the formula $\log(f(z)/z)=\sum_{n=1}^{\infty}2γ_n(f)z^n$. In the paper \cite{Pon} the authors posed the conjecture that a locally univalent function in the unit disk, satisfying the condition \[ \Re\left\{1+zf''(z)/f'(z)\right\}<1+λ/2\quad (z\in \mathbb{D}), \]
fulfill also the following inequality: $$|γ_n(f)|\le λ/(2n(n+1)).$$ Here $λ$ is a real number such that $0<λ\le 1$. In the paper we confirm that the conjecture is true, and sharp.
In this paper, we investigate the sharp bounds of the second Hankel determinant of Logarithmic coefficients for the starlike and convex functions with respect to symmetric points in the open unit disk.
In this article we prove Bohr inequalities for sense-preserving $K$-quasiconformal harmonic mappings defined in $\mathbb{D}$ and obtain the corresponding results for sense-preserving harmonic mappings by letting $K\to\infty$. One of the results includes the sharpened version of a theorem by Kayumov $\textit{et. al.}$ ($\textit{Math. Nachr.}$, 291 (2018), no. 11--12, 1757--1768). In addition Bohr inequalities have been established for uniformly locally univalent holomorphic functions, and for $\log(f(z)/z)$ where $f$ is univalent or inverse of a univalent function.
In this paper we study some extremal problems for the family $S_g^0(\mathbb{B}_X)$ of normalized univalent mappings with $g$-parametric representation on the unit ball $\mathbb{B}_X$ of an $n$-dimensional JB$^*$-triple $X$ with $r\geq 2$, where $r$ is the rank of $X$ and $g$ is a convex (univalent) function on the unit disc $\mathbb{U}$, which satisfies some natural assumptions. We obtain sharp coefficient bounds for the family $S_g^0(\mathbb{B}_X)$, and examples of bounded support points for various subsets of $S_g^0(\mathbb{B}_X)$. Our results are generalizations to bounded symmetric domains…
Complex-valued harmonic functions that are univalent and sense-preserving in the open unit disk are widely studied. A new methodology is employed to construct subclasses of univalent harmonic mappings from a given subfamily of univalent analytic functions. The notion of harmonic Alexander integral operator is introduced. Also, the radius of convexity for certain families of harmonic functions is determined.
In this paper we study class $\mathcal{S}^+$ of univalent functions $f$ such that $\frac{z}{f(z)}$ has real and positive coefficients. For such functions we give estimates of the Fekete-Szegő functional and sharp estimates of their initial coefficients and logarithmic coefficients. Also, we present necessary and sufficient conditions for $f\in \mathcal{S}^+$ to be starlike of order $1/2$.
Let $\es$ be the class of analytic and univalent functions in the unit disk $|z|<1$, that have a series of the form $f(z)=z+ \sum_{n=2}^{\infty}a_nz^n$. Let $F$ be the inverse of the function $f\in\es$ with the series expansion %in a disk of radius at least $1/4$ $F(w)=f^{-1}(w)=w+ \sum_{n=2}^{\infty}A_nw^n$ for $|w|<1/4$. The logarithmic inverse coefficients $Γ_n$ of $F$ are defined by the formula $\log\left(F(w)/w\right)\,=\,2\sum_{n=1}^{\infty}Γ_n(F)w^n$. % In this paper, we determine the logarithmic inverse coefficients bound of $F$ for the class In this paper, we first determine the sharp…
Let $\mathcal{S}$ denote the class of functions $f$ which are analytic and univalent in the unit disk ${\mathbb D}=\{z:|z|<1\}$ and normalized with $f(z)=z+\sum_{n=2}^{\infty} a_n z^n$. Using a method based on Grusky coefficients we study two problems over the class $\mathcal{S}$: estimate of the fourth logarithmic coefficient and upper bound of the coefficient difference $|a_5|-|a_4|$.
We construct embeddings of Bers slices of ideal polygon reflection groups into the classical family of univalent functions $Σ$. This embedding is such that the conformal mating of the reflection group with the anti-holomorphic polynomial $z\mapsto\overline{z}^d$ is the Schwarz reflection map arising from the corresponding map in $Σ$. We characterize the image of this embedding in $Σ$ as a family of univalent rational maps. Moreover, we show that the limit set of every Kleinian reflection group in the closure of the Bers slice is naturally homeomorphic to the Julia set of an anti-holomorphic po…
Let ${\mathcal U}^+$ be the class of analytic functions $f$ such that $\frac{z}{f(z)}$ has real and positive coefficients and $f^{-1}$ be its inverse. In this paper we give sharp estimates of the initial coefficients and initial logarithmic coefficients for $f$, as well as, sharp estimates of the second and the third Hankel determinant for $f$ and $f^{-1}$. We also show that the Zalcman conjecture holds for functions $f$ from ${\mathcal U}^+$.
Let ${\mathcal U}(λ)$ denote the family of analytic functions $f(z)$, $f(0)=0=f'(0)-1$, in the unit disk $\ID$, which satisfy the condition $\big |\big (z/f(z)\big )^{2}f'(z)-1\big |<λ$ for some $0<λ\leq 1$. The logarithmic coefficients $γ_n$ of $f$ are defined by the formula $\log(f(z)/z)=2\sum_{n=1}^\infty γ_nz^n$. In a recent paper, the present authors proposed a conjecture that if $f\in {\mathcal U}(λ)$ for some $0<λ\leq 1$, then $|a_n|\leq \sum_{k=0}^{n-1}λ^k$ for $n\geq 2$ and provided a new proof for the case $n=2$. One of the aims of this article is to present a proof of this conjectur…
We study chordal Loewner families in the upper half-plane and show that they have a parametric representation. We show one, that to every chordal Loewner family there corresponds a unique measurable family of probability measures on the real line, and two, that to every measurable family of probability measures on the real line there corresponds a unique chordal Loewner family. In both cases the correspondence is being given by solving the chordal Loewner equation. We use this to show that any probability measure on the real line with finite variance and mean zero has univalent Cauchy transfor…
For a univalent smooth mapping $f$ of the unit disk $\ID$ of complex plane onto the manifold $f(\ID)$, let $d_f(z_0)$ be the radius of the largest univalent disk on the manifold $f(\ID)$ centered at $f(z_0)$ ($|z_0|<1$). The main aim of the present article is to investigate how the radius $d_h(z_0)$ varies when the analytic function $h$ is replaced by a sense-preserving harmonic function $f=h+\overline{g}$. The main result includes sharp upper and lower bounds for the quotient $d_f(z_0)/d_h(z_0)$, especially, for a family of locally univalent $Q$-quasiconformal harmonic mappings $f=h+\overline…
We consider a family of all analytic and univalent functions (i.e., one-to-one) in the unit disk $\mathbb{D}:=\{z\in \mathbb{C}:|z|<1\}$ of the form $f(z)=z+a_2z^2+a_3z^3+\cdots$. In this paper, we obtain the sharp bounds of the second Hankel determinant of Logarithmic coefficients for some subclasses of analytic functions.
In this study, we deal with the sharp bounds of certain Toeplitz determinants whose entries are the logarithmic coefficients of analytic univalent functions $f$ such that the quantity $z f'(z)/f(z)$ takes values in a specific domain lying in the right half plane. The established results provide the bounds for the classes of starlike and convex functions, as well as various of their subclasses.
Making use of the Hadamard product(or convolution), we find some estimates on the Taylor-Maclaurin coefficients $|a_{2}|$ and $|a_{3}|$ for functions belong to bi univalent functions of the Bazilevi$\check{c}$ type of order $γ$. Several (known or new) consequences of the results are also pointed out.
In this article, we establish the Bohr inequalities for the sense-preserving $K$-quasiconformal harmonic mappings defined in the unit disk $\mathbb{D}$ involving classes of Ma-Minda starlike and convex univalent functions, usually denoted by $\mathcal{S}^*(ψ)$ and $\mathcal{C}(ψ)$ respectively, and for $\log (f(z)/z)$ where $f$ belongs to the Ma-Minda classes or satisfies certain differential subordination. We also estimate Logarithmic coefficient's bounds for the functions in $\mathcal{C}(ψ)$ for the case $ψ(\mathbb{D})$ be convex.
Let $\mathcal{S}$ denote the class of functions analytic and univalent (i.e. one-to-one) in the unit disk $\mathbb{D}=\{z\in\mathbb{C}:\, |z|<1\}$ normalized by $f(0)=0=f'(0)-1$. The logarithmic coefficients $γ_n$ of $f\in\mathcal{S}$ are defined by $\log \frac{f(z)}{z}= 2\sum_{n=1}^{\infty} γ_n z^n.$ In the present paper, we determine the sharp upper bounds for $|γ_1|$, $|γ_2|$ and $|γ_3|$ when $f$ belongs to some familiar subclasses of close-to-convex functions.
The logarithmic coefficients $γ_n$ of an analytic and univalent function $f$ in the unit disk $\mathbb{D}=\{z\in\mathbb{C}:|z|<1\}$ with the normalization $f(0)=0=f'(0)-1$ are defined by $\log \frac{f(z)}{z}= 2\sum_{n=1}^{\infty} γ_n z^n$. In the present paper, we consider close-to-convex functions (with argument $0$) with respect to odd starlike functions and determine the sharp upper bound of $|γ_n|$, $n=1,2,3$ for such functions $f$.
For an analytic and univalent function $f$ in the unit disk $\mathbb{D}:=\{z\in\mathbb{C}:|z|<1\}$ with the normalization $f(0)=0=f'(0)-1$, the logarithmic coefficients $γ_n$ are defined by $\log \frac{f(z)}{z}= 2\sum_{n=1}^{\infty} γ_n z^n$. In the present paper, we consider the class of close-to-convex functions (with argument $0$), and determine the sharp upper bound of $|γ_3|$ for such functions $f$, which proves a recent conjecture of the first and third authors [1].
Let $\es$ be the family of analytic and univalent functions $f$ in the unit disk $\D$ with the normalization $f(0)=f'(0)-1=0$, and let $γ_n(f)=γ_n$ denote the logarithmic coefficients of $f\in {\es}$. In this paper, we study bounds for the logarithmic coefficients for certain subfamilies of univalent functions. Also, we consider the families $\F(c)$ and $\G(δ)$ of functions $f\in {\es}$ defined by $$ {\rm Re} \left ( 1+\frac{zf''(z)}{f'(z)}\right )>1-\frac{c}{2}\, \mbox{ and } \, {\rm Re} \left ( 1+\frac{zf''(z)}{f'(z)}\right )<1+\fracδ{2},\quad z\in \D $$ for some $c\in(0,3]$ and $δ\in (0,1]$…
I. M. Milin proposed, in his 1971 paper, a system of inequalities for the logarithmic coefficients of normalized univalent functions on the unit disk of the complex plane. This is known as the Lebedev-Milin conjecture and implies the Robertson conjecture which in turn implies the Bieberbach conjecture. In 1984, Louis de Branges settled the long-standing Bieberbach conjecture by showing the Lebedev-Milin conjecture. Recently, O.~Roth proved an interesting sharp inequality for the logarithmic coefficients based on the proof by de Branges. In this paper, following Roth's ideas, we will show more …
The logarithmic coefficients $γ_n$ of an analytic and univalent function $f$ in the unit disk $\mathbb{D}=\{z\in\mathbb{C}:|z|<1\}$ with the normalization $f(0)=0=f'(0)-1$ is defined by $\log \frac{f(z)}{z}= 2\sum_{n=1}^{\infty} γ_n z^n$. Recently, D.K. Thomas [On the logarithmic coefficients of close to convex functions, {\it Proc. Amer. Math. Soc.} {\bf 144} (2016), 1681--1687] proved that $|γ_3|\le \frac{7}{12}$ for functions in a subclass of close-to-convex functions (with argument $0$) and claimed that the estimate is sharp by providing a form of a extremal function. In the present paper,…
We consider two parametric families of special functions: One is defined by a power series generalizing the classical Mathieu series, and the other one is a generalized Mathieu type power series involving factorials in its coefficients. Using criteria due to Fejer and Ozaki, we provide sufficient conditions for these functions to be close-to-convex or starlike inside the unit disk, and thus univalent.
In this paper we define a new concept of quasi-convolution for analytic functions normalized by $f(0)=0$ and $f^\prime(0)=1$ in the unit disk $E=\{z\in \mathbb{C}\colon |z|<1\}$. We apply this new approach to study the closure properties of a certain class of analytic and univalent functions under some families of (known and new) integral operators.
We study Picard's exceptional values of holomorphic one-parametric families of entire functions. Our first result shows that the set of parameter values for which zero is a Picard value can be an arbitrary closed set of zero logarithmic capacity. This answers a question of Julia. Second, we show that if a function has a Picard exceptional value for all values of parameter in some region of the plane then this Picard value is a holomorphic function in the complement of some discrete set E, tending to infinity as the papameter tends to E.
This is a course of lectures given for students of the Regional Mathematical Center of the Novosibirsk State University from October 20 to November 3, 2017. The course is devoted to some geometric problems of ramified coverings of the Riemann sphere. A special attention is payed to compact surfaces of genus one (complex tori). In the first section we give a short introduction to the theory of elliptic functions. Section 2 is devoted to one-parametric families of holomorphic and meromorphic functions. We recall the role of such families on Loewner's equation in solving some problems of the theo…
The present paper is devoted to the study of classes of mappings with non--bounded characteristics of quasiconformality. It is proved that the normal families of mappings distorting the families of mappings in ${\Bbb R}^n$ by special way, have the logarithmic order of growth in the neighborhood of every point. There are proved some sufficient conditions of normality of such mappings $f:D\rightarrow \bar{{\Bbb R}^n},$ $n\ge 2,$ omitting the values of some set $E_f$ with some constraints of the type $c(E_f)\ge δ,$ $δ\in {\Bbb R},$ where $c(\cdot)$ is the special set function.
We study the hyperbolicity of the log variety $(\mathbb{P}^n, X)$, where $X$ is a very general hypersurface of degree $d\geq 2n+1$ (which is the bound predicted by the Kobayashi conjecture). Using a positivity result for the sheaf of (twisted) logarithmic vector fields, which may be of independent interest, we show that any log-subvariety of $(\mathbb{P}^n, X)$ is of log-general type, give a new proof of the algebraic hyperbolicity of $(\mathbb{P}^n, X)$, and exclude the existence of maximal rank families of entire curves in the complement of the universal degree $d$ hypersurface. Moreover, we…
We study the zeros sets of functions in the Dirichlet space. Using Carleson formula for Dirichlet integral, we obtain some new families of zero sets. We also show that any closed subset of $E \subset \TT$ with logarithmic capacity zero is the accumulation points of the zeros of a function in the Dirichlet space. The zeros satisfy a growth restriction which depends on $E$.
Generalizing the well-known Shafarevich hyperbolicity conjecture, it has been conjectured by Viehweg that a quasi-projective manifold that admits a generically finite morphism to the moduli stack of canonically polarized varieties is necessarily of log general type. Given a quasi-projective threefold Y that admits a non-constant map to the moduli stack, we employ extension properties of logarithmic pluri-forms to establish a strong relationship between the moduli map and the minimal model program of Y: in all relevant cases the minimal model program leads to a fiber space whose fibration facto…
