We consider the $T\bar T$ deformation of 2d large $N$ YM theory on a cylinder, sphere and disk. The collective field theory Hamiltonian for the deformed theory is derived and the particular solutions to the equations of motion of the collective theory are found for the sphere. The account of the non-perturbative branch of the solution amounts to the first-order phase transition at the $(A,τ)$ plane. We analyze the third-order phase transition in the deformed theory on the disk and derive the critical area as a function of the boundary holonomy. A kind of Hagedorn behavior in the spectral density is discussed.
We investigate Yangian-invariant deformations of one-loop amplitudes in N = 4 super-Yang-Mills theory employing an algebraic representation of amplitudes. In this language, we reproduce the deformed massless box integral describing the deformed four-point one-loop amplitude and compare different realizations of said amplitude.
We demonstrate that the planar real-$β$-deformed Super-Yang--Mills theory possesses an infinitely-dimensional Yangian symmetry algebra and thus is classically integrable. This is achieved by the introduction of the twisted coproduct which allows us to lift the apparent $\mathcal{N}=1$ supersymmetry first to the full $\mathcal{N}=4$ symmetry of the parent $\mathcal{N} = 4$ SYM theory, and subsequently to its Yangian.
We study supersymmetry of N=4 super Yang-Mills theory in four dimensions deformed in the Omega-background. We take the Nekrasov-Shatashvili limit of the background so that two-dimensional super Poincare symmetry is recovered. We compute the deformed central charge of the superalgebra and study the 1/2 and 1/4 BPS states. We obtain the Omega-deformed 1/2 and 1/4 BPS dyon equations from the deformed supersymmetry transformation and the Bogomol'nyi completion of the energy.
We investigate Yangian invariance of deformed on-shell diagrams with D=4, N=4 superconformal symmetry. We find that invariance implies a direct relationship between the deformation parameters and the permutation associated to the on-shell graph. We analyse the connection with deformations of scattering amplitudes in N=4 super-Yang-Mills theory and the possibility of using the deformation parameters as a regulator preserving Yangian invariance. A study of higher-point tree and loop graphs suggests that manifest Yangian invariance of the amplitude requires trivial deformation parameters.
We identify the 2d topological theory underlying the N=2 4d superconformal index with an explicit model: q-deformed 2d Yang-Mills. By this route we are able to evaluate the index of some strongly-coupled 4d SCFTs, such as Gaiotto's T_N theories.
It has been known for quite some time that the N=4 super Yang-Mills equations defined on four-dimensional Euclidean space are equivalent to certain constraint equations on the Euclidean superspace R^(4|16). In this paper we consider the constraint equations on a deformed superspace R^(4|16)_\hbar a la Seiberg and derive the deformed super Yang-Mills equations. In showing this, we propose a super Seiberg-Witten map.
We study the phase diagram of $q$-deformed Yang-Mills theory on $S^2$ at non-zero $θ$-angle using the exact partition function at finite $N$. By evaluating the exact partition function numerically, we find evidence for the existence of a series of phase transitions at non-zero $θ$-angle as conjectured in [hep-th/0509004].
In this paper we will analyse a three dimensional super-Yang-Mills theory on a deformed superspace with boundaries. We show that it is possible to obtain an undeformed theory on the boundary if the bulk superspace is deformed by imposing a non-vanishing commutator between bosonic and fermionic coordinates. We will also analyse this theory in the Batalin-Vilkovisky (BV) formalism and show that these results also hold at a quantum level.
We study an extension of the ADHM construction to give deformed anti-self-dual (ASD) instantons in N=1/2 super Yang-Mills theory with U(n) gauge group. First we extend the exterior algebra on superspace to non(anti)commutative superspace and show that the N=1/2 super Yang-Mills theory can be reformulated in a geometrical way. By using this exterior algebra, we formulate a non(anti)commutative version of the super ADHM construction and show that the curvature two-form superfields obtained by our construction do satisfy the deformed ASD equations and thus we establish the deformed super ADHM con…
We construct the wave functions in the q-deformed 2d Yang-Mills theory that compute torus correlation functions of affine currents in the VOA associated to a class of 4d $N = 2$ SCFTs. These wave functions are then shown to reduce to the topological correlators of a set of Coulomb branch operators in the $T[SU(N)]$ theory, from which those correlators in the 3d mirror dual of the 4d TN theories can be computed.
We build string backgrounds for Yang-Baxter deformations of the $AdS_4\times\mathbb{CP}^3$ superstring generated by $r$-matrices satisfying the classical Yang-Baxter equation. We obtain the metric and the NS-NS two-form of the gravity dual corresponding to noncommutative and dipole deformations of ABJM theory, as well as a deformed background with Schrödinger symmetry. The first two backgrounds may also be found by TsT transformations while for the last background we get a new family of non-relativistic ABJM theories with Schrödinger symmetry.
We study a marginal deformation of N=4 Yang-Mills, with a real deformation parameter beta. This beta-deformed model has only N=1 supersymmetry and a U(1)xU(1) flavor symmetry. The introduction of a new superspace star-product allows us to formulate the theory in N=4 light-cone superspace, despite the fact that it has only N=1 supersymmetry. We show that this deformed theory is conformally invariant, in the planar approximation, by proving that its Green functions are ultra-violet finite to all orders in perturbation theory.
We present tree-level scattering amplitudes in beta-deformed super Yang-Mills theory in terms of new generating functions, derived by construction of a phase operator and application thereof to the N = 4 superamplitudes. The technique is explicitly illustrated for the MHV and NMHV sectors. Along these lines we propose a phase representation of the N = 4 superconformal algebra realized on deformed amplitudes in the planar limit. Validity of the MHV vertex expansion is proven and a connection to non-planar multi-loop unitarity cuts is established. Our derivations are also compatible with the rel…
Recently a prescription to compute the four-dimensional N = 2 superconformal index in the presence of certain BPS surface defects has been given. These surface defects are labelled by symmetric representations of SU(N). In the present paper we give a prescription to compute the superconformal index in the presence of surface defects labelled by arbitrary representations of SU(N). Furthermore, we extend the dictionary between the N = 2 superconformal Schur-index and correlators of q-deformed Yang-Mills to incorporate such surface defects.
The $γ_i$-deformed $\mathcal{N}=4$ super-Yang-Mills theory is a non-supersymmetric deformation of the maximally-supersymmetric gauge theory in four dimensions which is conformally-invariant at the planar level. At the non-planar level non-trivial renormalization of marginal double-trace operators appears to break conformal invariance. At non-planar level, however, the behavior of this theory is less well understood. We study the one loop renormalization of the theory and the resulting flow of Yukawa and scalar coupling at the order ${\cal O}(\fracλ{N^2})$, and find $γ_i$ parameters receive non…

We study the instanton effective action in deformed four-dimensional N=2 and N=4 super Yang-Mills (SYM) theories. These deformed gauge theories are defined on the D-brane world-volume in the presence of constant, self-dual Ramond-Ramond (R-R) 3-form field strength background $\mathcal{F}$ which is scaled as $(2 πα')^{1/2} \mathcal{F} = fixed$ in the zero-slope limit $α' \to 0$. The instanton effective action is obtained by solving equations of motion of the deformed N=2 SYM action. We show that this effective action correctly reproduces the string theory result derived from D3/D(-1)-branes sys…
We study the instanton effective action of four-dimensional deformed N=4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory in the presence of constant, self-dual Ramond-Ramond (R-R) 3-form background in type IIB superstring theory. We compare the instanton effective action with the low-energy effective action on D(-1)-branes in the D3-D(-1) system in the same background. We find that discrepancy appears at the second order of the R-R background, which was also observed in deformed N=2 theory. This discrepancy is resolved if the action of the deformed gauge theory is improved by introducing a term with coordina…
We compute the index of BPS states for two stacks of D4-branes wrapped on ample divisors and overlapping over a compact Riemann surface inside non-compact Calabi-Yau 3-fold. This index is given in terms of U(N) x U(M) q-deformed Yang Mills theory with bifundamental matter. From the factorization in the limit of large D4 charge, we argue that our result computes the jump in the index of BPS states across the wall of the marginal stability for the split flow of a D4 brane fragmenting into a pair of D4 branes.
We show how the perturbation theory results recently obtained by F.Fiamberti, A.Santambrogio, C.Sieg and D.Zanon for operator anomalous dimensions of beta-deformed Super-Yang-Mills theory can be reproduced from the AdS5/CFT4 Y-system proposed by N.G., V.Kazakov and P.Vieira. To do this, we obtain the general twisted asymptotic solution of this Y-system of functional equations. We show that existence of an additional parameter beta in the deformed theory allows to extract rich information about the perturbation theory integrals directly from Y-system. Using this method we found a simple generat…
In this talk we consider the mass-deformed Yang-Mills theory in the covariant gauge which is obtained by just adding a gluon mass term to the Yang-Mills theory with the covariant gauge fixing term and the associated Faddeev-Popov ghost term. First, we reconfirm that the decoupling solution in the Landau gauge Yang-Mills theory is well reproduced from the mass-deformed Yang-Mills theory by taking into account loop corrections. Second, we show that the mass-deformed Yang-Mills theory is obtained as a gauge-fixed version of the gauge-invariantly extended theory which is identified with the gauge-…
We consider $(2+1)$-dimensional mass-deformed SYM theories and their M-theory origin. These are obtained from MP Higgsing of ABJM theory with constant flux and fixing the mass terms via supersymmetry completion. Depending on the choice of the flux, we obtain ${\cal N}=1$, ${\cal N}=2$, and ${\cal N}=4$ mass-deformed SYM theories. For each of these cases we solve the vacuum equation and obtain the fuzzy two sphere solution for the first two cases. We also discuss the D-brane interpretation of the obtained mass-deformed SYM theories.
We study Yangian-invariant deformations of scattering amplitudes in 4d N=4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory and 3d N=6 Aharony-Bergman-Jafferis-Maldacena (ABJM) theory. In particular, we obtain the deformed Grassmannian integral for 4d N=4 super Yang-Mills theory, both in momentum and momentum-twistor space. For 3d ABJM theory, we initiate the study of deformed scattering amplitudes. We investigate general deformations of on-shell diagrams, and find the deformed Grassmannian integral for this theory. We furthermore introduce the algebraic R-matrix construction of deformed Yangian invariants fo…
We study the ADHM construction of instantons in N=2 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory deformed in constant Ramond-Ramond (R-R) 3-form field strength background in type IIB superstrings. We compare the deformed instanton effective action with the effective action of fractional D3/D(-1) branes at the orbifold singularity of C^2/Z_2 in the same R-R background. We find discrepancy between them at the second order in deformation parameters, which comes from the coupling of the translational zero modes of the D(-1)-branes to the R-R background. We improve the deformed action by adding a term with spa…
We study Chern-Simons theory on 3-manifolds $M$ that are circle-bundles over 2-dimensional surfaces $Σ$ and show that the method of Abelianisation, previously employed for trivial bundles $Σ\times S^1$, can be adapted to this case. This reduces the non-Abelian theory on $M$ to a 2-dimensional Abelian theory on $Σ$ which we identify with q-deformed Yang-Mills theory, as anticipated by Vafa et al. We compare and contrast our results with those obtained by Beasley and Witten using the method of non-Abelian localisation, and determine the surgery and framing presecription implicit in this path int…
The beta-deformation is one of the two superconformal deformations of the N=4 super-Yang-Mills theory. At the planar level it shares all of its properties except for supersymmetry, which is broken to the minimal amount. The tree-level amplitudes of this theory exhibit new features which depart from the commonly assumed properties of gauge theories with fields in the adjoint representation. We analyze in detail complete one-loop amplitudes and a nonplanar two-loop amplitude of this theory and show that, despite having only N=1 supersymmetry, two-loop amplitudes have a further-improved ultraviol…
We study the relationship between instanton counting in N=4 Yang-Mills theory on a generic four-dimensional toric orbifold and the semi-classical expansion of q-deformed Yang-Mills theory on the blowups of the minimal resolution of the orbifold singularity, with an eye to clarifying the recent proposal of using two-dimensional gauge theories to count microstates of black holes in four dimensions. We describe explicitly the instanton contributions to the counting of D-brane bound states which are captured by the two-dimensional gauge theory. We derive an intimate relationship between the two-di…
In this note we make a test of the open topological string version of the OSV conjecture, proposed in hep-th/0504054, in the toric Calabi-Yau manifold $X= O(-3)\to\mathbf{P}^2$ with background D4-branes wrapped on Lagrangian submanifolds. The D-brane partition function reduces to an expectation value of some inserted operators of a q-deformed Yang-Mills theory living on a chain of $\mathbf{P}^1$'s in the base $\mathbf{P}^2$ of $X$. At large $N$ this partition function can be written as a sum over squares of chiral blocks, which are related to the open topological string amplitudes in the local…
We study the large-$N$ dynamics of $T\bar{T}$-deformed two-dimensional Yang-Mills theory at genus zero. The 1/$N$-expansion of the free energy is obtained by exploiting the associated flow equation and the complete phase diagram of the theory is derived for both signs of the rescaled deformation parameter $τ$. We observe a third-order phase transition driven by instanton condensation, which is the deformed version of the familiar Douglas-Kazakov transition separating the weakly-coupled from the strongly-coupled phase. By studying said phases, we compute the deformation of both the perturbative…
The so-called homogeneous Yang-Baxter (YB) deformations can be considered a non-abelian generalization of T-duality--shift--T-duality (TsT) transformations. TsT transformations are known to preserve conformal symmetry to all orders in $α'$. Here we argue that (unimodular) YB deformations of a bosonic string also preserve conformal symmetry, at least to two-loop order. We do this by showing that, starting from a background with no NSNS-flux, the deformed background solves the $α'$-corrected supergravity equations to second order in the deformation parameter. At the same time we determine the re…
To construct renormalizable gauge model in Bosonic-Fermionic noncommutative (BFNC) superspace, we replace the ordinary products of super Yang-Mills model by BFNC star products. To study the renormalization property of the deformed action, we obtain the one-loop 1PI effective action by using background field method at the first order of BFNC parameters. We also verify the BFNC supergauge invariance of the effective action. Because there are new terms in effective action, the deformed action is not renormalizable. This imply that additional terms should be added to the deformed action.
We consider so-called Yang-Baxter deformations of bosonic string sigma-models, based on an $R$-matrix solving the (modified) classical Yang-Baxter equation. It is known that a unimodularity condition on $R$ is sufficient for Weyl invariance at least to two loops (first order in $α'$). Here we ask what the necessary condition is. We find that in cases where the matrix $(G+B)_{mn}$, constructed from the metric and $B$-field of the undeformed background, is degenerate the unimodularity condition arising at one loop can be replaced by weaker conditions. We further show that for non-unimodular defo…
We construct the n-instanton action for the above model with gauge group SU(2), as a function of the collective coordinates of the general self-dual configurations of Atiyah, Drinfeld, Hitchin and Manin (ADHM). We calculate the quantum modulus u = <Tr(A^2)> at the 1-instanton level, and find a discrepancy with Seiberg and Witten's proposed exact solution. As in related models (N=2, N_F=3 or 4), this discrepancy may be resolved by modifying their proposed relation between $\tilde u$ (the parameter in the elliptic curve) and u.
We study the AGT-like conjectured relation of a four-dimensional gauge theory on the direct product of a three-sphere and a circle to two-dimensional q-deformed Yang-Mills theory on a Riemann surface by using a five-dimensional N=2 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory on the direct product of the three-sphere and the Riemann surface, following the conjectured relation of the six-dimensional N=(2,0) theory on the circle to the five-dimensional Yang-Mills theory. Our results are in perfect agreement with both of the conjectures.
We analyze large N phase transitions for U(N) q-deformed two-dimensional Yang-Mills theory on the sphere. We determine the phase diagram of the model and we show that, for small values of the deformation parameter, the theory exhibits a phase transition which is smoothly connected to the Douglas-Kazakov phase transition. For large values of the deformation parameter the phase transition is absent. By explicitly computing the one-instanton suppression factor in the weakly coupled phase, we also show that the transition is triggered by instanton effects. Finally, we present the solution of the m…
We formulate matrix models for strings in ten dimensional pp-wave backgrounds and for particles in eleven dimensional ones. This is done by first characterizing the deformations of ten dimensional {\cal N}=1 SYM which are induced by a constant bispinorial coupling $\int \barΨHΨ$ plus a minimal purely bosonic completition and then by the appropriate dimensional reduction. We find a whole class of new models for the matrix strings and a generalization of the supernumerary supersymmetric models as far as the matrix theory for particles is concerned. A companion deformation of the IKKT matrix mode…
We discuss the integrability structure of deformed, four-dimensional N=4 super Yang-Mills theories using Yangians. We employ a recent procedure by Beisert and Roiban that generalizes the beta deformation of Lunin and Maldacena to produce N=1 superconformal gauge theories, which have the superalgebra SU(2,2|1)xU(1)xU(1). The deformed theories, including those with the more general twist, were shown to have retained their integrable structure. Here we examine the Yangian algebra of these deformed theories. In a five field subsector, we compute the two cases of SU(2)xU(1)xU(1)xU(1) and SU(2|1)xU(…
In this note we give evidence for an equality of the spectra, including wrapping, of the SU(2)-sector spin chain for real deformations beta and beta+1/L, in marginally beta-deformed N=4 Yang-Mills, which appears after relaxing the cyclicity constraint. Evidence for the equality is given by evaluating the first wrapping correction to the energy of the undeformed magnon of momentum pi, and the beta=1/2, physical magnon, for several spin chain lengths L. We also show that the term of maximal transcendentality coincides for both magnons to all L. As a by-product we provide an expression for the fi…
We demonstate the existence of a large $N$ phase transition with respect to the 't Hooft coupling in q-deformed Yang-Mills theory on $S^2$. The strong coupling phase is characterized by the formation of a clump of eigenvalues in the associated matrix model of Douglas-Kazakov (DK) type (hep-th/9305047). By understanding this in terms of instanton contributions to the q-deformed Yang-Mills theory, we gain some insight into the strong coupling phase as well as probe the phase diagram at nonzero values of the $θ$ angle. The Ooguri-Strominger-Vafa relation (hep-th/0405146) of this theory to topolog…
In this paper, we will study the deformation of a three dimensional $\mathcal{N} = 2$ supersymmetry gauge theory. We will deform this theory by imposing non-anticommutativity. This will break the supersymmetry of the theory from $\mathcal{N} = 2$ supersymmetry to $\mathcal{N} = 1$ supersymmetry. We will address the problem that occurs in the Landau gauge due to the existence of multiple solutions to the gauge fixing condition. This will be done by generalizing the Faddeev-Popov method. This formalism is motivated from the Nicolai map in topological field theories. Finally, we will study the ex…
We prove the integrability of the Yang-Baxter $\si$-model which is the Poisson-Lie deformation of the principal chiral model. We find also an explicit one-to-one map transforming every solution of the principal chiral model into a solution of the deformed model. With the help of this map, the standard procedure of the dressing of the principal chiral solutions can be directly transferred into the deformed Yang-Baxter context.
We study the null dipole deformation of N=4 super Yang-Mills theory, which is an example of a potentially solvable "dipole CFT": a theory that is non-local along a null direction, has non-relativistic conformal invariance along the remaining ones, and is holographically dual to a Schrodinger space-time. We initiate the field-theoretical study of the spectrum in this model by using integrability inherited from the parent theory. The dipole deformation corresponds to a nondiagonal Drinfeld-Reshetikhin twist in the spin chain picture, which renders the traditional Bethe ansatz inapplicable from t…
We count the number of bound states of BPS black holes on local Calabi-Yau three-folds involving a Riemann surface of genus g. We show that the corresponding gauge theory on the brane reduces to a q-deformed Yang-Mills theory on the Riemann surface. Following the recent connection between the black hole entropy and the topological string partition function, we find that for a large black hole charge N, up to corrections of $O(e^{-N})$, $Z_{BH}$ is given as a sum of a square of chiral blocks, each of which corresponds to a specific D-brane amplitude. The leading chiral block, the vacuum block, …
We give a self-contained discussion of recent progress in computing the non-perturbative effects of small non-holomorphic soft supersymmetry breaking, including a simple new derivation of these results based on an anomaly-free gauged U(1)_R background. We apply these results to N = 1 theories with deformed moduli spaces and conformal fixed points. In an SU(2) theory with a deformed moduli space, we completely determine the vacuum expectation values and induced soft masses. We then consider the most general soft breaking of supersymmetry in N = 2 SU(2) super-Yang-Mills theory. An N = 2 superfie…
Yang-Baxter type models are integrable deformations of integrable field theories, such as the principal chiral model on a Lie group $G$ or $σ$-models on (semi-)symmetric spaces $G/F$. The deformation has the effect of breaking the global $G$-symmetry of the original model, replacing the associated set of conserved charges by ones whose Poisson brackets are those of the $q$-deformed Poisson-Hopf algebra $\mathscr U_q(\mathfrak g)$. Working at the Hamiltonian level, we show how this $q$-deformed Poisson algebra originates from a Poisson-Lie $G$-symmetry. The theory of Poisson-Lie groups and thei…
The masses of the matter fields of N=2 Super-Yang-Mills theories can be defined as parameters of deformed supersymmetry transformations. The formulation used involves central charges for the matter fields. The explicit form of the deformed supersymmetry transformations and of the invariant Lagrangian in presence of the gauge supermultiplet are constructed. This works generalizes a former one, due to the same authors, which presented the free matter case.
In this work we study the cusp anomalous dimension of the marginally deformed N=4 sYM theory. We find the expression of the cusp anomalous dimension both at the weak and strong coupling limits. On the gravity side we partially map the system of equations to that of undeformed N=4 sYM, by defining in the internal space an effective angle Δθ_{eff} which depends on the deformation parameter. The cusp anomalous dimension then can be read from that of the N=4 sYM theory, by using this effective angle instead of the usual angle of the undeformed 5-sphere. In the weak coupling regime we find no beta …
We construct the first examples of deformed non-abelian black strings in a 5-dimensional Einstein-Yang-Mills model. Assuming all fields to be independent of the extra coordinate, we construct deformed black strings, which in the 4-dimensional picture correspond to axially symmetric non-abelian black holes in gravity-dilaton theory. These solutions thus have deformed S^2 x R horizon topology. We study fundamental properties of the black strings and find that for all choices of the gravitational coupling two branches of solutions exist. The limiting behaviour of the second branch of solutions ho…
We continue our study of the large N phase transition in q-deformed Yang-Mills theory on the sphere and its role in connecting topological strings to black hole entropy. We study in detail the chiral theory defined in terms of uncoupled single U(N) representations at large N and write down the resulting partition function by means of the topological vertex. The emergent toric geometry has three Kaehler parameters, one of which corresponds to the expected fibration over the sphere. By taking a suitable double-scaling limit we recover the chiral Gross-Taylor string expansion. To analyse the phas…
We construct new representations of tree-level amplitudes in D-dimensional gauge theories with deformations via higher-mass-dimension operators $α' F^3$ and $α'^{2} F^4$. Based on Berends-Giele recursions, the tensor structure of these amplitudes is compactly organized via off-shell currents. On the one hand, we present manifestly cyclic representations, where the complexity of the currents is systematically reduced. On the other hand, the duality between color and kinematics due to Bern, Carrasco and Johansson is manifested by means of non-linear gauge transformations of the currents. We expl…
In this paper we study, by means of numerical simulations, the topological properties of $SU(3)$ and $SU(4)$ trace deformed Yang-Mills theory defined on $ \mathbb{R}^3\times S^1$, in which center symmetry is recovered even at small compactification radii. In particular, we compute the topological suscpetibility $χ$ and the coefficient $b_2$ (related to the fourth cumulant of the topological charge distribution). We find that these observables computed in the deformed theory when center symmetry is recovered are compatible with their values at zero temperature both for 3 and 4 colours
We provide an introduction to the mathematics and physics of the deformed Hermitian-Yang-Mills equation, a fully nonlinear geometric PDE on Kahler manifolds which plays an important role in mirror symmetry. We discuss the physical origin of the equation, and some recent progress towards its solution. In dimension 3 we prove a new Chern number inequality and discuss the relationship with algebraic stability conditions.
We study the twisted N=4 super Yang-Mills theories in the Omega-background with the constant R-symmetry Wilson line gauge field. Based on the classification of topological twists of N=4 supersymmetry (the half, the Vafa-Witten and the Marcus twists), we construct the deformed off-shell supersymmetry associated with the scalar supercharges for these twists. We find that the Omega-deformed action is written in the exact form with respect to the scalar supercharges as in the undeformed case.
A generalization of the two-dimensional Yang-Mills and generalized Yang-Mills theory is introduced in which the building B-F theory is nonlocal in the auxiliary field. The classical and quantum properties of this nonlocal generalization are investigated and it is shown that for large gauge groups, there exist a simple correspondence between the properties a nonlocal theory and its corresponding local theory.
We study vortex-type solutions in a (4+1)-dimensional Einstein-Yang-Mills-SU(2) model. Assuming all fields to be independent on the extra coordinate, these solutions correspond in a four dimensional picture to axially symmetric multimonopoles, respectively monopole-antimonopole solutions. By boosting the five dimensional purely magnetic solutions we find new configurations which in four dimensions represents rotating regular nonabelian solutions with an additional electric charge.
The Yang-Baxter $σ$-model is an integrable deformation of the principal chiral model on a Lie group $G$. The deformation breaks the $G \times G$ symmetry to $U(1)^{\textrm{rank}(G)} \times G$. It is known that there exist non-local conserved charges which, together with the unbroken $U(1)^{\textrm{rank}(G)}$ local charges, form a Poisson algebra $\mathscr U_q(\mathfrak{g})$, which is the semiclassical limit of the quantum group $U_q(\mathfrak{g})$, with $\mathfrak{g}$ the Lie algebra of $G$. For a general Lie group $G$ with rank$(G)>1$, we extend the previous result by constructing local and n…
