The so-called homogeneous Yang-Baxter (YB) deformations can be considered a non-abelian generalization of T-duality--shift--T-duality (TsT) transformations. TsT transformations are known to preserve conformal symmetry to all orders in $α'$. Here we argue that (unimodular) YB deformations of a bosonic string also preserve conformal symmetry, at least to two-loop order. We do this by showing that, starting from a background with no NSNS-flux, the deformed background solves the $α'$-corrected supergravity equations to second order in the deformation parameter. At the same time we determine the required $α'$-corrections of the deformed background, which take a relatively simple form. In examples that can be constructed using, possibly non-commuting sequences of, TsT transformations we show how to obtain the first $α'$-correction to all orders in the deformation parameter by making use of the $α'$-corrected T-duality rules. We demonstrate this on the specific example of YB deformations of a Bianchi type II background.
The BCFW recursion relation in $\mathcal{N}=4$ super-Yang-Mills theory is solved using Yang-Baxter $R$-operators in the NMHV sector. Explicit expressions for $\mathcal{R}$-invariants are obtained in terms of the chains of $R$-operators acting on an appropriate basic state.
Quantum monodromy matrices coming from a theory of two coupled (m)KdV equations are modified in order to satisfy the usual Yang-Baxter relation. As a consequence, a general connection between braided and {\it unbraided} (usual) Yang-Baxter algebras is derived and also analysed.
Jordan as well as related triple systems have been used to find several solutions of the Yang-Baxter equation, which are of rational as well as trigonometric type.
We build string backgrounds for Yang-Baxter deformations of the $AdS_4\times\mathbb{CP}^3$ superstring generated by $r$-matrices satisfying the classical Yang-Baxter equation. We obtain the metric and the NS-NS two-form of the gravity dual corresponding to noncommutative and dipole deformations of ABJM theory, as well as a deformed background with Schrödinger symmetry. The first two backgrounds may also be found by TsT transformations while for the last background we get a new family of non-relativistic ABJM theories with Schrödinger symmetry.
We can recast the Yang-Baxter equation as a triple product equation. Assuming the triple product to satisfy some algebraic relations, we can find new solutions of the Yang-Baxter equation. This program has been completed here for the simplest triple systems which we call octonionic and quaternionic. The solutions are of rational type.
We describe how the complete solution to the two-dimensional constant quantum Yang-Baxter equation [J. Hietarinta, Phys. Lett. A165,245(1992)] was found. (Talk presented at the XIX International Colloquium on Group Theoretical Methods in Physics.)
We use boundary quantum group symmetry to obtain recursion formulas which determine nondiagonal solutions of the boundary Yang-Baxter equation (reflection equation) of the XXZ type for any spin j.
We generalize the result of the preceeding paper and solve the Yang-Baxter equation in terms of triple systems called orthogonal and symplectic ternary systems. In this way, we found several other new solutions.
It is known that Yang-Baxter sigma models provide a systematic way to study integrable deformations of both principal chiral models and symmetric coset sigma models. In the original proposal and its subsequent development, the deformations have been characterized by classical $r$-matrices satisfying the modified classical Yang-Baxter equation (mCYBE). In this article, we propose the Yang-Baxter sigma models based on the classical Yang-Baxter equations (CYBE) rather than the mCYBE. This generalization enables us to utilize various kinds of solutions of the CYBE to classify integrable deformatio…
We study the quantum properties at one-loop of the Yang-Baxter $σ$-models introduced by Klimč\'\ik. The proof of the one-loop renormalizability is given, the one-loop renormalization flow is investigated and the quantum equivalence is studied.
We construct two $Osp(n|2m)$ solutions of the graded Yang-Baxter equation by using the algebraic braid-monoid approach. The factorizable S-matrix interpretation of these solutions is also discussed.
A general functional definition of the infinite dimensional quantum R-matrix satisfying the Yang-Baxter equation is given. A procedure for extracting a finite dimensional R-matrix from the general definition is demonstrated for the particular cases of the group O(2) and of the group of translations.
We give central elements of the Yang-Baxter algebra for the $R$-matrix of the eight-vertex model, in the case when the crossing parameter is a rational multiple of one of the periods.
We prove the integrability of the Yang-Baxter $\si$-model which is the Poisson-Lie deformation of the principal chiral model. We find also an explicit one-to-one map transforming every solution of the principal chiral model into a solution of the deformed model. With the help of this map, the standard procedure of the dressing of the principal chiral solutions can be directly transferred into the deformed Yang-Baxter context.
We consider three-parameter Yang-Baxter deformations of the $AdS_5\times T^{1,1}$ superstring for abelian $r$-matrices which are solutions of the classical Yang-Baxter equation. We find two new backgrounds which are dual to the dipole deformed Klebanov-Witten gauge theory and to the nonrelativistic Klebanov-Witten gauge theory with Schrödinger symmetry
We present homogeneous Yang-Baxter deformations of the AdS$_5\times$S$^5$ supercoset sigma model as boundary conditions of a 4D Chern-Simons theory. We first generalize the procedure for the 2D principal chiral model developed by Delduc et al [arXiv:1909.13824] so as to reproduce the 2D symmetric coset sigma model, and specify boundary conditions governing homogeneous Yang-Baxter deformations. Then the conditions are applicable for the AdS$_5\times$S$^5$ supercoset sigma model case as well. In addition, homogeneous bi-Yang-Baxter deformation is also discussed.
We present particularly simple new solutions to the Yang--Baxter equation arising from two--dimensional cyclic representations of quantum $SU(2)$. They are readily interpreted as scattering matrices of relativistic objects, and the quantum group becomes a dynamical symmetry.
A new solution of the Yang-Baxter equation, that is related to the adjoint representation of the quantum enveloping algebra $U_{q}B_{2}$, is obtained by fusion formulas from a non-standard solution.
Extending previous work on $a_2^{(1)}$, we present a set of reflection matrices, which are explicit solutions to the $a_n^{(1)}$ boundary Yang-Baxter equation. Unlike solutions found previously these are multiplet-changing $K$-matrices, and could therefore be used as soliton reflection matrices for affine Toda field theories on the half-line.
A generalization of the Yang-Baxter equation is proposed. It enables to construct integrable two-dimensional lattice models with commuting two-layer transfer matrices, while single-layer ones are not necessarily commutative. Explicit solutions to the generalized equations are found. They are related with Botzmann weights of the $sl(3)$ chiral Potts model.
The (G, θ)-Lie algebras are structures which unify the Lie algebras and Lie superalgebras. We use them to produce solutions for the quantum Yang-Baxter equation. The constant and the spectral-parameter Yang-Baxter equations and Yang-Baxter systems are also studied.
We present solutions for the (constant and spectral-parameter) Yang-Baxter equations and Yang-Baxter systems arising from algebra structures and discuss about their symmetries. In the last section, we present some applications.
At the previous congress (CRM 6), we reviewed the construction of Yang-Baxter operators from associative algebras, and presented some (colored) bialgebras and Yang-Baxter systems related to them. The current talk deals with Yang-Baxter operators from (G, θ)-Lie algebras (structures which unify the Lie algebras and the Lie superalgebras). Thus, we produce solutions for the constant and the spectral-parameter Yang-Baxter equations, Yang-Baxter systems, etc. Attempting to present the general framework we review the work of other authors and we propose problems, applications and directions of stud…
New development of the theory of Grothendieck polynomials, based on an exponential solution of the Yang-Baxter equation in the algebra of projectors are given.
Baxter operators are constructed for quantum spin chains with deformed $s\ell_2$ symmetry. The parallel treatment of Yang-Baxter operators for the cases of undeformed, trigonometrically and elliptically deformed symmetries presented earlier and relying on the factorization regarding parameter permutations is extended to the global chain operators following the scheme worked out recently in the undeformed case.
Solutions to the twisted Yang-Baxter equation, arising from intertwiners for cyclic representations of $U_q(\widehat{sl}_n)$ are described via two coupled the lattice current algebras.
A general functional definition of the infinite dimensional quantum $R$-matrix satisfying the Yang-Baxter equation is given. A procedure for the extracting a finite dimensional $R$-matrix from the general definition is demonstrated in a particular case when the group $SU(2)$ takes place.
We study a relation between two integrability conditions, namely the Yang-Baxter and the pair propagation equations, in 2D lattice models. While the two are equivalent in the 8-vertex models, discrepancies appear in the 16-vertex models. As explicit examples, we find the exactly solvable 16-vertex models which do not satisfy the Yang-Baxter equations.
We have new solutions to the Yang-Baxter equation, from which we have constructed new link invariants containing more than two arbitrary parameters. This may be regarded as a generalization of the Jones' polynomial. We have also found another simpler invariant which discriminates only the linking structure of knots with each other, but not details of individual knot.
We develop the approach of Faddeev, Reshetikhin, Takhtajan [1] and of Majid [2] that enables one to associate a quasitriangular Hopf algebra to every regular invertible constant solution of the quantum Yang-Baxter equations. We show that such a Hopf algebra is actually a quantum double.
We have found some new solutions of both rational and trigonometric types by rewriting Yang-Baxter equation as a triple product equation in a vector space of matrices.
Exponential solutions of the Yang-Baxter equation give rise to generalized Schubert polynomials and corresponding symmetric functions. We provide several descriptions of the local stationary algebra defined by this equation. This allows to construct various exponential solutions of the YBE. The $B_n$ and $G_2$ cases are also treated.
Complete solution, more precisely, all invertible $4\times 4$ matrices $R,Q$ that solve Yang--Baxter system related to quantised braided groups, quantum doubles and other systems are given.
We present a Baxterization of a two-colour generalization of the Birman--Wenzl--Murakami (BWM) algebra. Appropriately combining two RSOS-type representations of the ordinary BWM algebra, we construct representations of the two-colour algebra. Using the Baxterization, this provides new RSOS-type solutions to the Yang--Baxter equation.
We explore two distinct methods to introduce integrable defects in a family of integrable sigma-models known as Yang-Baxter models. The first method invokes a modified monodromy matrix encoding an integrable defect separating two integrable systems. As an example we construct integrable defects in the ultralocal version of the $S^2$ Yang-Baxter model or 2d Fateev sausage model. The second method is based on the so-called "frozen" Bäcklund transformations. Lifting the construction to the Drinfel'd double, we show how defect matrices can be constructed for inhomogeneous Yang-Baxter models. We pr…
The duality of dual resonance models is shown to imply that the four point string correlation function solves the Yang-Baxter equation. A reduction of transfer matrices to $A_l$ symmetry is described by a restriction of the KP $τ$ function to Toda molecules.
Integrable sigma model with generalized $\mathcal{F}$ structure, Yang-Baxter sigma model with generalized complex structure and multi-Yang-Baxter sigma model
An elliptic Bailey lemma is formulated on the basis of the univariate rarefied elliptic beta integral. It leads to a generalized operator star-triangle relation and a new solution of the Yang-Baxter equation written as an integral operator with a rarefied elliptic hypergeometric kernel.
The Schouten-Nijenhuis bracket is generalized for the superspace case and for the Poisson brackets of opposite Grassmann parities. Quite a number of generalizations for the differential analog of the special Yang-Baxter equations is also proposed.
Recent study suggests that there are natural connections between quantum information theory and the Yang--Baxter equation. In this paper, in terms of the generalized almost-complex structure and with the help of its algebra, we define the generalized Bell matrix to yield all the GHZ states from the product base, prove it to form a unitary braid representation and present a new type of solution of the quantum Yang--Baxter equation. We also study Yang-Baxterization, Hamiltonian, projectors, diagonalization, noncommutative geometry, quantum algebra and FRT dual algebra associated with this genera…
We explicitly derive Lax pairs for string theories on Yang-Baxter deformed backgrounds, 1) gravity duals for noncommutative gauge theories, 2) $γ$-deformations of S$^5$, 3) Schrödinger spacetimes and 4) abelian twists of the global AdS$_5$\,. Then we can find out a concise derivation of Lax pairs based on simple replacement rules. Furthermore, each of the above deformations can be reinterpreted as a twisted periodic boundary conditions with the undeformed background by using the rules. As another derivation, the Lax pair for gravity duals for noncommutative gauge theories is reproduced from th…
For any quasi-triangular Hopf algebra, there exists the universal R-matrix, which satisfies the Yang-Baxter equation. It is known that the adjoint action of the universal R-matrix on the elements of the tensor square of the algebra constitutes a quantum Yang-Baxter map, which satisfies the set-theoretic Yang-Baxter equation. The map has a zero curvature representation among L-operators defined as images of the universal R-matrix. We find that the zero curvature representation can be solved by the Gauss decomposition of a product of L-operators. Thereby obtained a quasi-determinant expression o…
Yang-Baxter relations symmetric with respect to the ortho-symplectic superalgebras are studied. We start from the formulation of graded algebras and the linear superspace carrying the vector (fundamental) representation of the ortho-symplectic supergroup. On this basis we study the analogy of the Yang-Baxter operators considered earlier for the cases of orthogonal and symplectic symmetries: the vector (fundamental) R matrix, the L operator defining the Yangian algebra and its first and second order evaluations. We investigate the condition for L(u) in the case of the truncated expansion in inv…
The study of the integrability properties of the N=2 Landau- Ginzburg models leads naturally to a graph generalization of the Yang-Baxter equation which synthetizes the well known vertex and RSOS Yang-Baxter equations. A non trivial solution of this equation is found for the $t_2$ perturbation of the A-models, which turns out to be intimately related to the Boltzmann weights of a Chiral- Potts model.
We propose a new generalization of the Yang-Baxter equation, where the R-matrix depends on cluster $y$-variables in addition to the spectral parameters. We point out that we can construct solutions to this new equation from the recently-found correspondence between Yang-Baxter equations and supersymmetric gauge theories. The $S^2$ partition function of a certain 2d $\mathcal{N}=(2,2)$ quiver gauge theory gives an R-matrix, whereas its FI parameters can be identified with the cluster $y$-variables.
Generalization of the quantum Yang-Baxter equation solutions to an arbitrary grading is studied. The noncommutative differential calculi corresponding to such solutions is considered. The connection with the ordinary and supersymmetric solutions of the quantum Yang-Baxter equation is given.
We introduce an odd supersymmetric version of the Kronecker elliptic function. It satisfies the genus one Fay identity and supersymmetric version of the heat equation. As an application we construct an odd supersymmetric extensions of the elliptic $R$-matrices, which satisfy the classical and the associative Yang-Baxter equations.
