In this paper we take further steps towards developing the separation of variables program for integrable spin chains with gl(N) symmetry. By finding, for the first time, the matrix elements of the SoV measure explicitly we were able to compute correlation functions and wave function overlaps in a simple determinant form. In particular, we show how an overlap between on-shell and off-shell algebraic Bethe states can be written as a determinant. Another result, particularly useful for AdS/CFT applications, is an overlap between two Bethe states with different twists, which also takes a determinant form in our approach. Our results also extend our previous works in collaboration with A. Cavaglia and D. Volin to general values of the spin, including the SoV construction in the higher-rank non-compact case for the first time.
We compute the 2- and 3-point functions of currents and primary fields of $λ$-deformed integrable $σ$-models characterized also by an integer $k$. Our results apply for any semisimple group $G$, for all values of the deformation parameter $λ$ and up to order $1/k$. We deduce the OPEs and equal-time commutators of all currents and primaries. We derive the currents' Poisson brackets which assume Rajeev's deformation of the canonical structure of the isotropic PCM, the underlying structure of the integrable $λ$-deformed $σ$-models. We also present analogous results in two limiting cases of specia…
We obtain determinant representations for the form factors of the monodromy matrix entries in quantum integrable models solvable by the nested algebraic Bethe ansatz and possessing $GL(3)$-invariant $R$-matrix. These representations can be used for the calculation of correlation functions in the models of physical interest.
Using the intertwining matrix of the IRF-Vertex correspondence we propose a determinant representation for the generating function of the commuting Hamiltonians of the double elliptic integrable system. More precisely, it is a ratio of the normally ordered determinants, which turns into a single determinant in the classical case. With its help we reproduce the recently suggested expression for the eigenvalues of the Hamiltonians for the dual to elliptic Ruijsenaars model. Next, we study the classical counterpart of our construction, which gives expression for the spectral curve and the corresp…
In this work, we study the $\frac{1}{8}$-BPS heavy-heavy-light-light correlators in the D1D5 CFT and its holographic dual. On the field theory side, we compute the fermionic four-point correlators at the free orbifold point. On the dual gravity side, we compute the correlators of the scalar operators in the supergravity limit of the D1D5 CFT. Following the strategy of \cite{Galliani:2017jlg}, the four-point function is converted into a two-point function in non-trivial geometries known as superstrata which are supergravity solutions preserving $1/8$ supersymmetries. We focus on a family of int…
We apply the theorems from the theory of Toeplitz determinants to calculate the asymptotics of the correlators in the XY spin chain in the transverse magnetic field. The asymptotics of the correlators for the XX spin chain in the magnetic field are obtained.
We apply the theorems from the theory of Toeplitz determinants to calculate the asymptotics of various correlators including the exponential ones in the inpenetrable one-dimensional Bose gas system. The known correlators in the free-fermion system are also used to test the generalized Fisher-Hartwig conjecture.
Twist fields were introduced a few decades ago as a quantum counterpart to classical kink configurations and disorder variables in low dimensional field theories. In recent years they received a new incarnation within the framework of geometric entropy and strong coupling limit of four-dimensional scattering amplitudes. In this paper, we study their two-point correlation functions in a free massless scalar theory, namely, twist--twist and twist--anti-twist correlators. In spite of the simplicity of the model in question, the properties of the latter are far from being trivial. The problem is r…
We present the new expressions for the formfactors of local operators for the XX - quantum spin chain as a Cauchy determinants. Using the known functional form of the correlator at large distances we propose the new expression for the constant for the asymptotics of the correlator as a Cauchy determinant. We calculate the momentum distribution for the general case of the XXZ spin chain and point out that it is completely different from the Luttinger model (the system of fermions). For the XX chain we compare numerically the value of the lowest formfactor and the expectation value of momentum- …
We present an expression for the generating function of correlation functions of the sine-Gordon integrable field theory on a cylinder, with compact space. This is derived from the Destri-De Vega integrable lattice regularization of the theory, formulated as an inhomogeneous Heisenberg XXZ spin chain, and from more recent advances in the computations of spin form factors in the thermodynamic limit.
We review the recent progress on the construction of the determinant representations of the correlation functions for the integrable supersymmetric fermion models. The factorizing $F$-matrices (or the so-called $F$-basis) play an important role in the construction. In the $F$-basis, the creation (and the annihilation) operators and the Bethe states of the integrable models are given in completely symmetric forms. This leads to the determinant representations of the scalar products of the Bethe states for the models. Based on the scalar products, the determinant representations of the correlati…
We present a new method allowing us to derive the long-time and large-distance asymptotic behavior of the correlations functions of quantum integrable models from their exact representations. Starting from the form factor expansion of the correlation functions in finite volume, we explain how to reduce the complexity of the computation in the so-called interacting integrable models to the one appearing in free fermion equivalent models. We apply our method to the time-dependent zero-temperature current-current correlation function in the non-linear Schrödinger model and compute the first few t…
The study of the scaling limit of two-dimensional models of statistical mechanics within the framework of integrable field theory is illustrated through the example of the RSOS models. Starting from the exact description of regime III in terms of colliding particles, we compute the correlation functions of the thermal, $ϕ_{1,2}$ and (for some cases) spin operators in the two-particle approximation. The accuracy obtained for the moments of these correlators is analysed by computing the central charge and the scaling dimensions and comparing with the exact results. We further consider the (gener…
We compute the Mellin transforms of various two-dimensional integrable $S$-matrices, providing the first explicit, non-perturbative realizations of celestial CFT. In two dimensions, the Mellin transform is simply the Fourier transform in rapidity space, and the "celestial correlator" has no position dependence. The simplified setting allows us to study the analytic properties of CCFT correlators exactly as a function of the conformal dimensions. We find that the correlators exist as real distributions of the conformal weights, with asymptotics controlled by the mass spectrum and three-point co…
Classical quasi-integrable systems are known to have Lyapunov times much shorter than their ergodicity time, but the situation for their quantum counterparts is less well understood. As a first example, we examine the quantum Lyapunov exponent -- defined by the evolution of the 4-point out-of-time-order correlator (OTOC) -- of integrable systems which are weakly perturbed by an external noise, a setting that has proven to be illuminating in the classical case. In analogy to the tangent space in classical systems, we derive a linear superoperator equation which dictates the OTOC dynamics. We fi…
In this work we express the partition function of the integrable elliptic solid-on-solid model with domain-wall boundary conditions as a single determinant. This representation appears naturally as the solution of a system of functional equations governing the model's partition function.

We study an asymptotic behavior of a special correlator known as the Emptiness Formation Probability (EFP) for the one-dimensional anisotropic XY spin-1/2 chain in a transverse magnetic field. This correlator is essentially the probability of formation of a ferromagnetic string of length $n$ in the antiferromagnetic ground state of the chain and plays an important role in the theory of integrable models. For the XY Spin Chain, the correlator can be expressed as the determinant of a Toeplitz matrix and its asymptotical behaviors for $n \to \infty$ throughout the phase diagram are obtained using…
We study integrable models solvable by the nested algebraic Bethe ansatz and described by $\mathfrak{gl}(2|1)$ or $\mathfrak{gl}(1|2)$ superalgebras. We obtain explicit determinant representations for form factors of the monodromy matrix entries. We show that all form factors are related to each other at special limits of the Bethe parameters. Our results allow one to obtain determinant formulas for form factors of local operators in the supersymmetric t-J model.
We compute explicitly the two-dimensional version of Basso-Dixon type integrals for the planar four-point correlation functions given by conformal fishnet Feynman graphs. These diagrams are represented by a fragment of a regular square lattice of power-like propagators, arising in the recently proposed integrable bi-scalar fishnet CFT. The formula is derived from first principles, using the formalism of separated variables in integrable SL(2,C) spin chain. It is generalized to anisotropic fishnet, with different powers for propagators in two directions of the lattice.
We develop a new framework to compute the exact correlators of characteristic polynomials, and their inverses, in random matrix theory. Our results hold for general potentials and incorporate the effects of an external source. In matrix model realizations of string theory, these correspond to correlation functions of exponentiated "(anti-)branes" in a given background of "momentum branes". Our method relies on expanding the (inverse) determinants in terms of Schur polynomials, then re-summing their expectation values over the allowed representations of the symmetric group. Beyond unifying prev…
We consider finite temperature correlation functions in massive integrable Quantum Field Theory. Using a regularization by putting the system in finite volume, we develop a novel approach (based on multi-dimensional residues) to the form factor expansion for thermal correlators. The first few terms are obtained explicitly in theories with diagonal scattering. We also discuss the validity of the LeClair-Mussardo proposal.
The foundation for the theory of correlation functions of exactly solvable models is determinant representation. Determinant representation permit to describe correlation functions by classical completely integrable differential equations [Barough, McCoy, Wu]. In this paper we show that determinant represents works not only for free fermionic models. We obtained determinant representation for the correlation function $<ψ(0,0)ψ^\dagger(x,t)>$ of the quantum nonlinear Schrödinger equation, out of free fermionic point. In the forthcoming publications we shall derive completely integrable equation…
We introduce a nonperturbative approach to correlation functions of two determinant operators and one non-protected single-trace operator in planar N=4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory. Based on the gauge/string duality, we propose that they correspond to overlaps on the string worldsheet between an integrable boundary state and a state dual to the single-trace operator. We determine the boundary state using symmetry and integrability of the dual superstring sigma model, and write down expressions for the correlators at finite coupling, which we conjecture to be valid for operators of arbitrar…
Starting from a $d\times d$ rational Lax pair system of the form $\hbar \partial_x Ψ= LΨ$ and $\hbar \partial_t Ψ=RΨ$ we prove that, under certain assumptions (genus $0$ spectral curve and additional conditions on $R$ and $L$), the system satisfies the "topological type property". A consequence is that the formal $\hbar$-WKB expansion of its determinantal correlators, satisfy the topological recursion. This applies in particular to all $(p,q)$ minimal models reductions of the KP hierarchy, or to the six Painlevé systems.
We study SU(3)-invariant integrable models solvable by nested algebraic Bethe ansatz. We obtain determinant representations for form factors of diagonal entries of the monodromy matrix. This representation can be used for the calculation of form factors and correlation functions of the XXX SU(3)-invariant Heisenberg chain.
We calculate the scalar product of Bethe states of the XXZ spin-$\frac{1}{2}$ chain with general integrable boundary conditions. The off-shell equations satisfied by the transfer matrix and the off-shell Bethe vectors allow one to derive a linear system for the scalar product of off-shell and on-shell Bethe states. We show that this linear system can be solved in terms of a compact determinant formula that involves the Jacobian of the transfer matrix eigenvalue and certain q-Pochhammer polynomials of the boundary couplings.
We study the Regge trajectories of the Mellin amplitudes of the $0-,1-$ and $2-$ magnon correlators of the Fishnet theory. Since fishnet theory is both integrable and conformal, the correlation functions are known exactly. We find that while for $0$ and $1$ magnon correlators, the Regge poles can be exactly determined as a function of coupling, $2$-magnon correlators can only be dealt with perturbatively. We evaluate the resulting Mellin amplitudes at weak coupling, while for strong coupling we do an order of magnitude calculation.
We investigate the elliptic integrable model introduced by Deguchi and Martin, which is an elliptic extension of the Perk-Schultz model. We introduce and study a class of partition functions of the elliptic model by using the Izergin-Korepin analysis. We show that the partition functions are expressed as a product of elliptic factors and elliptic Schur-type symmetric functions. This result resembles the recent works by number theorists in which the correspondence between the partition functions of trigonometric models and the product of the deformed Vandermonde determinant and Schur functions …
We study three-point functions of single-trace operators in the su(1|1) sector of planar N = 4 SYM borrowing several tools based on Integrability. In the most general configuration of operators in this sector, we have found a determinant expression for the tree-level structure constants. We then compare the predictions of the recently proposed hexagon program against all available data. We have obtained a match once additional sign factors are included when the two hexagon form-factors are assembled together to form the structure constants. In the particular case of one BPS and two non-BPS ope…
We consider a completely integrable lattice regularization of the sine-Gordon model with discrete space and continuous time. We derive a determinant representation for a correlation function which in the continuum limit turns into the correlation function of local fields. The determinant is then embedded into a system of integrable integro-differential equations. The leading asymptotic behaviour of the correlation function is described in terms of the solution of a Riemann Hilbert Problem (RHP) related to the system of integro-differential equations. The leading term in the asymptotical decomp…
We find the asymptotic behaviors of Toeplitz determinants with symbols which are a sum of two contributions: one analytical and non-zero function in an annulus around the unit circle, and the other proportional to a Dirac delta function. The formulas are found by using the Wiener-Hopf procedure. The determinants of this type are found in computing the spin-correlation functions in low-lying excited states of some integrable models, where the delta function represents a peak at the momentum of the excitation. As a concrete example of applications of our results, using the derived asymptotic for…
We study the integrable crosscap states of the integrable quantum spin chains and we classify them for the $\mathfrak{gl}(N)$ symmetric models. We also give a derivation for the exact overlaps between the integrable crosscap states and the Bethe states. The first part of the derivation is to calculate sum formula for the off-shell overlap. Using this formula we prove that the normalized overlaps of the multi-particle states are ratios of the Gaudin-like determinants. Furthermore we collect the integrable crosscap states which can be relevant in the AdS/CFT correspondence.
We study integrable models with $\mathfrak{gl}(2|1)$ symmetry and solvable by nested algebraic Bethe ansatz. We obtain a determinant representation for scalar products of Bethe vectors, when the Bethe parameters obey some relations weaker than the Bethe equations. This representation allows us to find the norms of on-shell Bethe vectors and obtain determinant formulas for form factors of the diagonal entries of the monodromy matrix.
We present determinant formulae for the form factors of spin operators of general integrable XXX Heisenberg spin chains for arbitrary (finite dimensional) spin representations. The results apply to any "mixed" spin chains, such as alternating spin chains, or to spin chains with magnetic impurities.
We present a novel approach for computing the Hilbert series of 4d N=1 supersymmetric QCD with SO(N_c) and Sp(N_c) gauge groups. It is shown that such Hilbert series can be recast in terms of determinants of Hankel matrices. With the aid of results from random matrix theory, such Hankel determinants can be evaluated both exactly and asymptotically. Several new results on Hilbert series for general numbers of colours and flavours are thus obtained in this paper. We show that the Hilbert series give rise to families of rational solutions, with palindromic numerators, to the Painlevé VI equations…
Universality in unitary invariant random matrix ensembles with complex matrix elements is considered. We treat two general ensembles which have a determinant factor in the weight. These ensembles are relevant, e.g., for spectra of the Dirac operator in QCD. In addition to the well established universality with respect to the choice of potential, we prove that microscopic spectral correlators are unaffected when the matrix in the determinant is replaced by an expansion in powers of the matrix. We refer to this invariance as logarithmic universality. The result is used in proving that a simple r…
The properties of (N X N)-matrix-valued-field theories, in the limit N goes to infinity, are harder to obtain than those for isovector-valued field theories. This is because we know less about the sum of planar diagrams than the sum of bubble/linear diagrams. Combining the 1/N-expansion with the axioms for form factors, exact form factors can be found for the integrable field theory of an SU(N)-valued field in 1+1 dimensions. These form factors can be used to find the vacuum expectation value of the product of two field operators. We briefly mention how the results can be applied to 2+1 dimens…
One-point functions of local operators are studied, at weak and strong coupling, for the ABJM theory in the presence of a 1/2 BPS domain wall. In the underlying quantum spin chain the domain wall is represented by a boundary state which we show is integrable yielding a compact determinant formula for one-point functions of generic operators.
Continuing the investigation started in a previous work, we consider form factors of integrable quantum field theories in finite volume, extending our investigation to matrix elements with disconnected pieces. Numerical verification of our results is provided by truncated conformal space approach. Such matrix elements are important in computing finite temperature correlation functions, and we give a new method for generating a low temperature expansion, which we test for the one-point function up to third order.
Within the generalized hydrodynamics (GHD) formalism for quantum integrable models, it is possible to compute simple expressions for a number of correlation functions at the Eulerian scale. Specializing to integrable relativistic field theories, we show the same correlators can be computed as a sum over form factors, the GHD regime corresponding to the leading contribution with one particle-hole pair on a finite energy-density background. The thermodynamic bootstrap program (TBP) formalism was recently introduced as an axiomatic approach to computing such finite-energy-density form factors for…
The g-function is a measure of degrees of freedom associated to a boundary of two-dimensional quantum field theories. In integrable theories, it can be computed exactly in a form of the Fredholm determinant, but it is often hard to evaluate numerically. In this paper, we derive functional equations---or equivalently integral equations of the thermodynamic Bethe ansatz (TBA) type---which directly compute the g-function in the simplest integrable theory; the sinh-Gordon theory at the self-dual point. The derivation is based on the classic result by Tracy and Widom on the relation between Fredhol…
We calculate the four-point function of $1/2$-BPS determinant operators in $\mathcal{N}=4$ SYM at next-to-leading order at weak coupling. We use two complementary methods recently developed for a class of determinant three-point functions: one is based on Feynman diagrams and it extracts perturbative data at finite $N$, while the other one expresses a generic correlator of determinants as the zero-dimensional integral over an auxiliary matrix field. We generalise the latter approach to calculate one-loop corrections and we solve the four-point function in a semi-classical approach at large $N$…
We compute Out-of-Time-Order correlators (OTOCs) for conformal field theories (CFTs) subjected to either continuous or discrete periodic drive protocols. This is achieved by an appropriate analytic continuation of the stroboscopic time. After detailing the general structure, we perform explicit calculations in large-$c$ CFTs where we find that OTOCs display an exponential, an oscillatory and a power-law behaviour in the heating phase, the non-heating phase and on the phase boundary, respectively. In contrast to this, for the Ising CFT representing an integrable model, OTOCs never display such …
We study additional non-isospectral symmetries of constrained (reduced) N=2 supersymmetric KP hierarchies of integrable ``soliton''-like evolution equations. These symmetries are shown to form an infinite-dimensional non-Abelian superloop superalgebra. Furthermore we study the general Darboux-Backlund (DB) transformations (including adjoint-DB and binary DB) of N=2 super- KP hierarchies preserving (most of) the additional symmetries. Also we derive the explicit form of the general DB (N=2 ``super- soliton''-like) solutions in the form of generalized Wronskian-like super-determinants.
We study the dynamics of the quantum Ising chain following a zero-temperature quench of the transverse field strength. Focusing on the behavior of two-point spin correlation functions, we show that the correlators of the order parameter display an effective asymptotic thermal behavior, i.e., they decay exponentially to zero, with a phase coherence rate and a correlation length dictated by the equilibrium law with an effective temperature set by the energy of the initial state. On the contrary, the two-point correlation functions of the transverse magnetization or the density-of-kinks operator …
We study flows on the space of topological Landau-Ginzburg theories coupled to topological gravity. We argue that flows corresponding to gravitational descendants change the target space from a complex plane to a punctured complex plane and lead to the motion of punctures. It is shown that the evolution of the topological theory due to these flows is given by dispersionless limit of KP hierarchy. We argue that the generating function of correlators in such theories are equal to the logarithm of the tau-function of Generalized Kontsevich Model.
We develop an integrability-based framework to compute structure constants of two sub-determinant operators and a single-trace non-BPS operator in ABJM theory in the planar limit. In this first paper, we study them at weak coupling using a relation to an integrable spin chain. We first develop a nested Bethe ansatz for an alternating SU(4) spin chain that describes single-trace operators made out of scalar fields. We then apply it to the computation of the structure constants and show that they are given by overlaps between a Bethe eigenstate and a matrix product state. We conjecture that the …
Out-of-time-ordered correlators (OTOCs) have been suggested as a means to study quantum chaotic behavior in various systems. In this work, I calculate OTOCs for the quantum mechanical anharmonic oscillator with quartic potential, which is classically integrable and has a Poisson-like energy-level distribution. For low temperature, OTOCs are periodic in time, similar to results for the harmonic oscillator and the particle in a box. For high temperature, OTOCs exhibit a rapid (but power-like) rise at early times, followed by saturation consistent with $2\langle x^2\rangle_T \langle p^2\rangle_T$…
We derive the dominant contribution to the large-distance decay of correlation functions for a spin chain model that exhibits both Haldane and Neel phases in its ground state phase diagram. The analytic results are obtained by means of an approximate mapping between a spin-1 anisotropic Hamiltonian onto a fermionic model of noninteracting Bogolioubov quasiparticles related in turn to the XY spin-1/2 chain in a transverse field. This approach allows us to express the spin-1 string operators in terms of fermionic operators so that the dominant contribution to the string correlators at large dist…
We introduce a non-perturbative framework for computing structure constants of single-trace operators in the N=4 SYM theory at large N. Our approach features new vertices, with hexagonal shape, that can be patched together into three- and possibly higher-point correlators. These newborn hexagons are more elementary and easier to deal with than the three-point functions. Moreover, they can be entirely constructed using integrability, by means of a suitable bootstrap program. In this letter, we present our main results and conjectures for these vertices, and match their predictions for the three…
We consider scalar local operators of the determinant type in the conformal ``fishnet'' theory that arises as a limit of gamma-deformed $\mathcal{N}=4$ super Yang-Mills theory. We generalise a field-theory approach to expand their correlation functions to arbitrary order in the small coupling constants and apply it to the bi-scalar reduction of the model. We explicitly analyse the two-point functions of determinants, as well as of certain deformations with the insertion of scalar fields, and describe the Feynman-graph structure of three- and four-point correlators with single-trace operators. …
