We study the Regge trajectories of the Mellin amplitudes of the $0-,1-$ and $2-$ magnon correlators of the Fishnet theory. Since fishnet theory is both integrable and conformal, the correlation functions are known exactly. We find that while for $0$ and $1$ magnon correlators, the Regge poles can be exactly determined as a function of coupling, $2$-magnon correlators can only be dealt with perturbatively. We evaluate the resulting Mellin amplitudes at weak coupling, while for strong coupling we do an order of magnitude calculation.
We extend the analysis of \cite{Chowdhury:2019hns} to study the Regge trajectories of the Mellin amplitudes of the $0-$ and $1-$ magnon correlators of the generalized Fishnet theory in $d$ dimensions and one type of correlators of chiral fishnet theory in $4$ dimensions. We develop a systematic procedure to perturbatively study the Regge trajectories and subsequently perform the spectral integral. Our perturbative method is very generic and in principle can be applied to correlators whose perturbative Regge trajectories obey some structural conditions which we list down. Our $d$ dimensional re…
We compute explicitly the two-dimensional version of Basso-Dixon type integrals for the planar four-point correlation functions given by conformal fishnet Feynman graphs. These diagrams are represented by a fragment of a regular square lattice of power-like propagators, arising in the recently proposed integrable bi-scalar fishnet CFT. The formula is derived from first principles, using the formalism of separated variables in integrable SL(2,C) spin chain. It is generalized to anisotropic fishnet, with different powers for propagators in two directions of the lattice.
We investigate the hexagon formalism in the planar 4d conformal fishnet theory. This theory arises from N=4 SYM by a deformation that preserves both conformal symmetry and integrability. Based on this relation, we obtain the hexagon form factors for a large class of states, including the BMN vacuum, some excited states, and the Lagrangian density. We apply these form factors to the computation of several correlators and match the results with direct Feynman diagrammatic calculations. We also study the renormalisation of the hexagon form factor expansion for a family of diagonal structure const…
We study the Feynman graph structure and compute certain exact four-point correlation functions in chiral CFT$_4$ proposed by Ö.Gürdoğan and one of the authors as a double scaling limit of $γ$-deformed $\mathcal{N}=4$ SYM theory. We give full description of bulk behavior of large Feynman graphs: it shows a generalized "dynamical fishnet" structure, with a dynamical exchange of bosonic and Yukawa couplings. We compute certain four-point correlators in the full chiral CFT$_4$, generalizing recent results for a particular one-coupling version of this theory -- the bi-scalar "fishnet" CFT. We sum …
We consider the computation of out-of-time-ordered correlators (OTOCs) in the fishnet theories, with a mass term added. These fields theories are not unitary. We compute the growth exponent, in the planar limit, at any value of the coupling and show that the model exhibits chaos. At strong coupling the growth exponent violates the Maldacena-Shenker-Stanford bound. We also consider the mass deformed versions of the six dimensional honeycomb theories, which can also be solved in the planar limit. The honeycomb theory shows a very similar behavior to that exhibited by the fishnet theory.
We compute the leading-color contribution to four-particle scattering amplitude in four-dimensional conformal fishnet theory that arises as a special limit of $γ$-deformed $\mathcal N=4$ SYM. We show that the single-trace partial amplitude is protected from quantum corrections whereas the double-trace partial amplitude is a nontrivial infrared finite function of the ratio of Mandelstam invariants. Applying the Lehmann--Symanzik--Zimmerman reduction procedure to the known expression of a four-point correlation function in the fishnet theory, we derive a new representation for this function that…
Four-point functions of R-currents are discussed within Anti-de Sitter supergravity. In particular, we compute Witten diagrams with graviton and gauge boson exchange in the high energy Regge limit. Assuming validity of the AdS/CFT correspondence, our results apply to R-current four-point functions of N=4 super Yang-Mills theory at strong coupling.
We consider scalar local operators of the determinant type in the conformal ``fishnet'' theory that arises as a limit of gamma-deformed $\mathcal{N}=4$ super Yang-Mills theory. We generalise a field-theory approach to expand their correlation functions to arbitrary order in the small coupling constants and apply it to the bi-scalar reduction of the model. We explicitly analyse the two-point functions of determinants, as well as of certain deformations with the insertion of scalar fields, and describe the Feynman-graph structure of three- and four-point correlators with single-trace operators. …
We study the Regge limit of 4-point AdS$_3 \times S^3$ correlators in the tree-level supergravity approximation and provide various explicit checks of the relation between the eikonal phase derived in the bulk picture and the anomalous dimensions of certain double-trace operators. We consider both correlators involving all light operators and HHLL correlators with two light and two heavy multi-particle states. These heavy operators have a conformal dimension proportional to the central charge and are pure states of the theory, dual to asymptotically AdS$_3 \times S^3$ regular geometries. Devia…
We examine the Regge limit of holographic 4-point correlation functions in AdS$_3\times S^3$ involving two heavy and two light operators. In this kinematic regime such correlators can be reconstructed from the bulk phase shift accumulated by the light probe as it traverses the geometry dual to the heavy operator. We work perturbatively -- but to arbitrary orders -- in the ratio of the heavy operator's conformal dimension to the dual CFT${}_2$'s central charge, thus going beyond the low order results of arXiv:1812.03120 and arXiv:2007.12118. In doing so, we derive all-order relations between th…
This paper has two parts. We first compute the leading contribution to the strong-coupling mixing between the Konishi operator and a double-trace operator composed of chiral primaries by using flat-space vertex operators for the string-duals of the operators. We then compute the three-point functions for protected or unprotected scalar operators with higher spin operators on the leading Regge trajectory. Here we see that the nontrivial spatial structures required by conformal invariance arise naturally from the form of the polarization tensors in the vertex operators. We find agreement with re…
We consider unitary CFTs with continuous global symmetries in $d>2$. We consider a state created by the lightest operator of large charge $Q \gg 1$ and analyze the correlator of two light charged operators in this state. We assume that the correlator admits a well-defined large $Q$ expansion and, relatedly, that the macroscopic (thermodynamic) limit of the correlator exists. We find that the crossing equations admit a consistent truncation, where only a finite number $N$ of Regge trajectories contribute to the correlator at leading nontrivial order. We classify all such truncated solutions to …
In this paper we study a wide class of planar single-trace four point correlators in the chiral conformal field theory ($χ$CFT$_4$) arising as a double scaling limit of the $γ$-deformed $\mathcal{N}=4$ SYM theory. In the planar (t'Hooft) limit, each of such correlators is described by a single Feynman integral having the bulk topology of a square lattice "fishnet" and/or of an honeycomb lattice of Yukawa vertices. The computation of this class of Feynmann integrals at any loop is achieved by means of an exactly-solvable spin chain magnet with $SO(1,5)$ symmetry. In this paper we explain in det…
The stress tensor sector of a heavy-heavy-light-light scalar correlator in CFTs with a large central charge and a large gap is defined by the exchange of multi-stress tensor operators. The Regge limit of this correlator is determined by the phase shift of a highly energetic particle propagating in a dual black hole background. Assuming Einstein gravity in the bulk, the phase shift is known perturbatively to all orders in the ratio of the heavy scaling dimension over the central charge. In the CFT, the order counts the number of stress tensors in the multi-stress tensor operator. By Fourier tra…
We derive and study Yangian Ward identities for the infinite class of four-point ladder integrals and their Basso-Dixon generalisations. These symmetry equations follow from interpreting the respective Feynman integrals as correlation functions in the bi-scalar fishnet theory. Alternatively, the presented identities can be understood as anomaly equations for a momentum space conformal symmetry. The Ward identities take the form of inhomogeneous extensions of the partial differential equations defining the Appell hypergeometric functions. We employ a manifestly conformal tensor reduction in ord…
We investigate the structure of conformal Regge trajectories for the maximally supersymmetric (2,0) theories in six dimensions. The different conformal multiplets in a single superconformal multiplet must all have similarly-shaped Regge trajectories. We show that these super-descendant trajectories interact in interesting ways, leading to new constraints on their shape. For the four-point function of the stress tensor multiplet supersymmetry also softens the Regge behavior in some channels, and consequently we observe that 'analyticity in spin' holds for all spins greater than -3. All the phys…
We derive an optical theorem for perturbative CFTs which computes the double discontinuity of conformal correlators from the single discontinuities of lower order correlators, in analogy with the optical theorem for flat space scattering amplitudes. The theorem takes a purely multiplicative form in the CFT impact parameter representation used to describe high-energy scattering in the dual AdS theory. We use this result to study four-point correlation functions that are dominated in the Regge limit by the exchange of the graviton Regge trajectory (Pomeron) in the dual theory. At one-loop the sc…
We develop the technology for Polyakov-Mellin (PM) bootstrap in one-dimensional conformal field theories (CFT$_1$). By adding appropriate contact terms, we bootstrap various effective field theories in AdS$_2$ and analytically compute the CFT data to one loop. The computation can be extended to higher orders in perturbation theory, if we ignore mixing, for any external dimension. We develop PM bootstrap for $O(N)$ theories and derive the necessary contact terms for such theories (which also involves a new higher gradient contact term absent for $N=1$). We perform cross-checks which include con…
We present the first-principle derivation of a weak-strong duality between the fishnet theory in four dimensions and a discretized string-like model living in five dimensions. At strong coupling, the dual description becomes classical and we demonstrate explicitly the classical integrability of the model. We test our results by reproducing the strong coupling limit of the $4$-point correlator computed before non-perturbatively from the conformal partial wave expansion. Due to the extreme simplicity of our model, it could provide an ideal playground for holography with no super-symmetry. Furthe…
We study an inequality between a scaling exponent $A$ in the Regge limit of tree-level flat space S-matrices with external massless scalars and another scaling exponent $A'$ in the Regge limit of the corresponding four-point scalar conformal correlators by using scaling exponents of Mellin amplitudes. We derive $A'\ge A$, which leads to the Regge growth bound of tree-level flat space S-matrices from the chaos bound in the flat space limit of the AdS/CFT correspondence, from polynomial boundedness of the Mellin amplitudes for local bulk descriptions. We also show $A'=A$ from the conformal block…
The structure constants of twist-two operators with spin $j$ in the BFKL limit $g^2\rightarrow 0, j\rightarrow 1$ but ${g^2\over j-1}\sim 1$ are determined from the calculation of the three-point correlator of twist-two light-ray operators in the triple Regge limit. It is well known that the anomalous dimensions of twist-two operators in this limit are determined by the BFKL intercept. Similarly, the obtained structure constants are determined by an analytic function of three BFKL intercepts.
We show that the generating function of all amplitudes with N twisted and M untwisted states, i.e. the Reggeon vertex for magnetized branes on R^2 can be computed once the correlator of N non excited twisted states and the corresponding Green function are known and we give an explicit expression as a functional of the these objects
What is the space of weakly-coupled, gravitational theories which contain massive, higher-spin particles? This class of theories is highly constrained and it is conjectured their ultraviolet completion must be string theory. We provide more evidence for this conjecture by studying the Regge limit in large $N$, $4d$ CFTs with single-trace operators of unbounded spin. We show that in the Regge limit, these theories have bulk scattering amplitudes which are consistent with the string theory prediction to all orders in $1/N$ for large, but finite, coupling. In the language of Regge theory, we show…
We analytically solve the conformal bootstrap equations in the Regge limit for large N conformal field theories. For theories with a parametrically large gap, the amplitude is dominated by spin-2 exchanges and we show how the crossing equations naturally lead to the construction of AdS exchange Witten diagrams. We also show how this is encoded in the anomalous dimensions of double-trace operators of large spin and large twist. We use the chaos bound to prove that the anomalous dimensions are negative. Extending these results to correlators containing two scalars and two conserved currents, we …
We present a dispersion relation in conformal field theory which expresses the four point function as an integral over its single discontinuity. Exploiting the analytic properties of the OPE and crossing symmetry of the correlator, we show that in perturbative settings the correlator depends only on the spectrum of the theory, as well as the OPE coefficients of certain low twist operators, and can be reconstructed unambiguously. In contrast to the Lorentzian inversion formula, the validity of the dispersion relation does not assume Regge behavior and is not restricted to the exchange of spinni…
We consider the four-point correlator of the stress tensor multiplet in ${\cal N}=4$ SYM in the limit of large central charge $c \sim N^2$. For finite values of $g^2N$ single-trace intermediate operators arise at order $1/c$ and this leads to specific poles in the Mellin representation of the correlator. The sign of the residue at these poles is fixed by unitarity. We consider solutions consistent with crossing symmetry and this pole structure. We show that in a certain regime all solutions result in a negative contribution to the anomalous dimension of twist four operators. The reason behind …
We consider the Regge limit of a CFT correlation function of two vector and two scalar operators, as appropriate to study small-x deep inelastic scattering in N=4 SYM or in QCD assuming approximate conformal symmetry. After clarifying the nature of the Regge limit for a CFT correlator, we use its conformal partial wave expansion to obtain an impact parameter representation encoding the exchange of a spin j Reggeon for any value of the coupling constant. The CFT impact parameter space is the three-dimensional hyperbolic space H3, which is the impact parameter space for high energy scattering in…
We explore the structures of light cone and Regge limit singularities of $n$-point Virasoro conformal blocks in $c>1$ two-dimensional conformal field theories with no chiral primaries, using fusion matrix approach. These CFTs include not only holographic CFTs dual to classical gravity, but also their full quantum corrections, since this approach allows us to explore full $1/c$ corrections. As the important applications, we study time dependence of Renyi entropy after a local quench and out-of-time ordered correlator (OTOC) at late time. We first show that, the $n$-th ($n>2$) Renyi entropy afte…
The high-energy behavior of the N=4 SYM amplitudes in the Regge limit can be calculated order by order in perturbation theory using the high-energy operator expansion in Wilson lines. At large $N_c$, a typical four-point amplitude is determined by a single BFKL pomeron. The conformal structure of the four-point amplitude is fixed in terms of two functions: pomeron intercept and the coefficient function in front of the pomeron (the product of two residues). The pomeron intercept is universal while the coefficient function depends on the correlator in question. The intercept is known in the firs…
We study long-distance singularities governing different physical quantities involving massless partons in perturbative QCD by using factorisation in terms of Wilson-line correlators. By isolating the process-independent hard-collinear singularities from quark and gluon form factors, and identifying these with the ones governing the elastic limit of the perturbative Parton Distribution Functions (PDFs) -- $δ(1-x)$ in the large-$x$ limit of DGLAP splitting functions -- we extract the anomalous dimension controlling soft singularities of the PDFs, verifying that it admits Casimir scaling. We the…
