We study controlled differential equations with unbounded drift terms, where the driving paths is $ν$ - Hölder continuous for $ν\in (\frac{1}{3},\frac{1}{2})$, so that the rough integral are interpreted in the Gubinelli sense \cite{gubinelli} for controlled rough paths. Similar to the rough differential equations in the sense of Lyons \cite{lyons98} or of Friz-Victoir \cite{friz}, we prove the existence and uniqueness theorem for the solution in the sense of Gubinelli, the continuity on the initial value, and the solution norm estimates.
We propose a definition of viscosity solutions to fully nonlinear PDEs driven by a rough path via appropriate notions of test functions and rough jets. These objects will be defined as controlled processes with respect to the driving rough path. We show that this notion is compatible with the seminal results of Lions and Souganidis and with the recent results of Friz and coauthors on fully non-linear SPDEs with rough drivers.

In line with the notion of probabilistic rough paths introduced in the previous contribution \cite{salkeld2021Probabilistic}, we address corresponding random controlled rough paths (first introduced in \cite{2019arXiv180205882.2B}), the structure of which is indexed by Lions forests. These are statistical distributions over the space of paths described by the combination of a jet on the underlying probabilistic rough path and a remainder term. The regularity of the latter facilitates the definition of a rough integral. We establish closedness and stability of two key operators on random contro…
We continue the approach in Part I \cite{duchong19} to study stationary states of controlled differential equations driven by rough paths, using the framework of random dynamical systems and random attractors. Part II deals with driving paths of finite $ν$ - Hölder norms with $ν\in (\frac{1}{3},\frac{1}{2})$ so that the integrals are interpreted in the Gubinelli sense for controlled rough paths. We prove sufficient conditions for the attractor to be a singleton, thus the pathwise convergence is in both pullback and forward senses.
In [1], we proved the existence of solutions to reflected rough differential equations based on an idea of Euler approximation of the solutions which is due to Davie [6]. In this paper, we prove the existence theorem under weaker assumptions than those in [1] by using the notion of Gubinelli's controlled path [14].

We provide a necessary and sufficient condition for a rough control driving a differential equation to be reconstructable, to some order, from observing the resulting controlled evolution. Physical examples and applications in stochastic filtering and statistics demonstrate the practical relevance of our result.
We define and solve Volterra equations driven by an irregular signal, by means of a variant of the rough path theory allowing to handle generalized integrals weighted by an exponential coefficient. The results are applied to the fractional Brownian motion with Hurst coefficient greater than 1/3
In this paper, we build the foundation for a theory of controlled rough paths on manifolds. A number of natural candidates for the definition of manifold valued controlled rough paths are developed and shown to be equivalent. The theory of controlled rough one-forms along such a controlled path and their resulting integrals are then defined. This general integration theory does require the introduction of an additional geometric structure on the manifold which we refer to as a "parallelism." The transformation properties of the theory under change of parallelisms is explored. Using these trans…
Rough paths techniques give the ability to define solutions of stochastic differential equations driven by signals $X$ which are not semimartingales and whose $p$-variation is finite only for large values of $p$. In this context, rough integrals are usually Riemann-Stieltjes integrals with correction terms that are sometimes seen as unnatural. As opposed to those somewhat artificial correction terms, our endeavor in this note is to produce a trapezoid rule for rough integrals driven by general $d$-dimensional Gaussian processes. Namely we shall approximate a generic rough integral $\int y \, d…
Integrability properties of (classical, linear, linear growth) rough differential equations (RDEs) are considered, the Jacobian of the RDE flow driven by Gaussian signals being a motivating example. We revisit and extend some recent ground-breaking work of Cass-Litterer-Lyons in this regard; as by-product, we obtain a user-friendly "transitivity property" of such integrability estimates. We also consider rough integrals; as a novel application, uniform Weibull tail estimates for a class of (random) rough integrals are obtained. A concrete example arises from the stochastic heat-equation, spati…
Given a Gaussian process $X$, its canonical geometric rough path lift $\mathbf{X}$, and a solution $Y$ to the rough differential equation (RDE) $\mathrm{d}Y_{t} = V\left (Y_{t}\right ) \circ \mathrm{d} \mathbf{X}_t$, we present a closed-form correction formula for $\int Y \circ \mathrm{d} \mathbf{X} - \int Y \, \mathrm{d} X$, i.e. the difference between the rough and Skorohod integrals of $Y$ with respect to $X$. When $X$ is standard Brownian motion, we recover the classical Stratonovich-to-It{ô} conversion formula, which we generalize to Gaussian rough paths with finite $p$-variation, $p < 3$…
Iterated integrals of paths arise frequently in the study of the Taylor's expansion for controlled differential equations. We will prove a factorial decay estimate, conjectured by M. Gubinelli, for the iterated integrals of non-geometric rough paths. We will explain, with a counter example, why the conventional approach of using the neoclassical inequality fails. Our proof involves a concavity estimate for sums over rooted trees and a non-trivial extension of T. Lyons' proof in 1994 for the factorial decay of iterated Young's integrals.
Rough sheets are two-parameter analogs of rough paths. In this work the theory of integration over functions of two parameters is extended to cover the case of irregular functions by developing an appropriate notion of rough sheet. The main application is to give a path by path construction of the stochastic integral in the plane and obtain a stratonovich change of variables formula.
We develop the integration theory of two-parameter controlled paths $Y$ allowing us to define integrals of the form \begin{equation} \int_{[s,t] \times [u,v]} Y_{r,r'} \;d(X_{r}, X_{r'}) \end{equation} where $X$ is the geometric $p$-rough path that controls $Y$. This extends to arbitrary regularity the definition presented for $2\leq p<3$ in the recent paper of Hairer and Gerasimovičs where it is used in the proof of a version of Hörmander's theorem for a class of SPDEs. We extend the Fubini type theorem of the same paper by showing that this two-parameter integral coincides with the two itera…
We establish an uniform factorial decay estimate for the Taylor approximation of solutions to controlled differential equations. Its proof requires a factorial decay estimate for controlled paths which is interesting in its own right.
We construct in this article a rough path over fractional Brownian motion with arbitrary Hurst index by (i) using the Fourier normal ordering algorithm introduced in \cite{Unt-Holder} to reduce the problem to that of regularizing tree iterated integrals and (ii) applying the Bogolioubov-Parasiuk-Hepp-Zimmermann (BPHZ) renormalization algorithm to Feynman diagrams representing tree iterated integrals.
In this paper, we will prove that the local time of a Lévy process is of finite $p$-variation in the space variable in the classical sense, a.s. for any $p>2$, $t\geq 0$, if the Lévy measure satisfies $\int_{R\setminus \{0\}}(|y|^{3\over 2}\wedge 1)n(dy)<\infty$, and is a rough path of roughness $p$ a.s. for any $2<p<3$ under a slightly stronger condition for the Lévy measure. Then for any function $g$ of finite $q$-variation ($1\leq q <3$), we establish the integral $\int_{-\infty}^{\infty}g(x)dL_t^x$ as a Young integral when $1\leq q<2$ and a Lyons' rough path integral when $2\leq q<3$. We t…
This short note suggests special examples of stochastic Ito integrals with controlled growth of their containing range. The integrands for this integrals are presented explicitly. The construction does not involve neither stopping times nor forecasting or calculation of the conditional expectations of a contingent claim
Given a solution $Y$ to a rough differential equation (RDE), a recent result [8] extends the classical Itö-Stratonovich formula and provides a closed-form expression for $\int Y \circ \mathrm{d} \mathbf{X} - \int Y \, \mathrm{d} X$, i.e. the difference between the rough and Skorohod integrals of $Y$ with respect to $X$, where $X$ is a Gaussian process with finite $p$-variation less than 3. In this paper, we extend this result to Gaussian processes with finite $p$-variation such that $3 \leq p < 4$. The constraint this time is that we restrict ourselves to Volterra Gaussian processes with kerne…
Given a continuous Gaussian process $x$ which gives rise to a $p$-geometric rough path for $p\in (2,3)$, and a general continuous process $y$ controlled by $x$, under proper conditions we establish the relationship between the Skorohod integral $\int_0^t y_s {\mathrm{d}}^\diamond x_s$ and the Stratonovich integral $\int_0^t y_s {\mathrm{d}} {\mathbf x}_s$. Our strategy is to employ the tools from rough paths theory and Malliavin calculus to analyze discrete sums of the integrals.
We show that the tail probability of the rough line integral $\int_{0}^{1}ϕ(X_{t})dY_{t}$, where $(X,Y)$ is a 2D fractional Brownian motion with Hurst parameter $H\in(1/4,1/2)$ and $ϕ$ is a $C_{b}^{\infty}$-function satisfying a mild non-degeneracy condition on its derivative, cannot decay faster than a $γ$-Weibull tail with any exponent $γ>2H+1$. In particular, this produces a simple class of examples of differential equations driven by fBM, whose solutions fail to have Gaussian tail even though the underlying vector fields are assumed to be of class $C_{b}^{\infty}$. This also demonstrates t…
We study a class of controlled rough differential equations. It is shown that the value function satisfies a HJB type equation; we also establish a form of the Pontryagin maximum principle. Deterministic problems of this type arise in the duality theory for controlled diffusion processes and typically involve anticipating stochastic analysis. We propose a formulation based on rough paths and then obtain a generalization of Roger's duality formula [L. C. G. Rogers, 2007] from discrete to continuous time. We also make the link to old work of [Davis--Burstein, 1987].
In this article, we investigate the asymptotic behaviour of the spatial integral of the solution to the parabolic Anderson model with time independent noise in dimension $d\geq 1$, as the domain of the integral becomes large. We consider 3 cases: (a) the case when the noise has an integrable covariance function; (b) the case when the covariance of the noise is given by the Riesz kernel; (c) the case of the rough noise, i.e. fractional noise with index $H \in (\frac{1}{4},\frac{1}{2})$ in dimension $d=1$. In each case, we identify the order of magnitude of the variance of the spatial integral, …
Donsker's invariance principle is shown to hold for random walks in rough path topology. As application, we obtain Donsker-type weak limit theorems for stochastic integrals and differential equations.
Using fractional calculus we define integrals of the form $% \int_{a}^{b}f(x_{t})dy_{t}$, where $x$ and $y$ are vector-valued Hölder continuous functions of order $\displaystyle β\in (\frac13, \frac12)$ and $f$ is a continuously differentiable function such that $f'$ is $λ$-Höldr continuous for some $λ>\frac1β-2$. Under some further smooth conditions on $f$ the integral is a continuous functional of $x$, $y$, and the tensor product $x\otimes y$ with respect to the Hölder norms. We derive some estimates for these integrals and we solve differential equations driven by the function $y$. We discu…
In this paper, we establish the theory of nonlinear rough paths. We give the definition of nonlinear rough paths, and develop the integrals. Then, we study differential equations driven by nonlinear rough paths. Afterwards, we compare the nonlinear rough paths and classic theory of linear rough paths. Finally, we apply this theory to rough partial differential equations.
In this paper, we study different scaling rough path limit regimes in space and time for the Langevin dynamics on a quasi-planar fluctuating Helfrich surfaces. The convergence results of the processes were already proven in the work by Duncan, Elliott, Pavliotis and Stuart (2015). We extend this work by proving the convergence of the Itô and Stratonovich rough path lift. For the rough path limit, there appears, typically, an area correction term to the Itô iterated integrals, and in certain regimes to the Stratonovich iterated integrals. This yields additional information on the homogenization…
Fourier normal ordering \cite{Unt09bis} is a new algorithm to construct explicit rough paths over arbitrary Hölder-continuous multidimensional paths. We apply in this article the Fourier normal ordering ordering algorithm to the construction of an explicit rough path over multi-dimensional fractional Brownian motion $B$ with arbitrary Hurst index $α$ (in particular, for $α\le 1/4$, which was till now an open problem) by regularizing the iterated integrals of the analytic approximation of $B$ defined in \cite{Unt08}. The regularization procedure is applied to 'Fourier normal ordered' iterated i…
In this paper, we study rough path properties of stochastic integrals of Itô's type and Stratonovich's type with respect to $G$-Brownian motion. The roughness of $G$-Brownian Motion is estimated and then the pathwise Norris lemma in $G$-framework is obtained.
We present two different approaches to stochastic integration in frictionless model free financial mathematics. The first one is in the spirit of Itô's integral and based on a certain topology which is induced by the outer measure corresponding to the minimal superhedging price. The second one is based on the controlled rough path integral. We prove that every "typical price path" has a naturally associated Itô rough path, and justify the application of the controlled rough path integral in finance by showing that it is the limit of non-anticipating Riemann sums, a new result in itself. Compar…
Based on two isomorphisms of Hopf algebras, we provide a bound in the optimal order on the remainder of the truncated Taylor expansion for controlled differential equations driven by branched rough paths.
We derive explicit distance bounds for Stratonovich iterated integrals along two Gaussian processes (also known as signatures of Gaussian rough paths) based on the regularity assumption of their covariance functions. Similar estimates have been obtained recently in [Friz-Riedel, AIHP, to appear]. One advantage of our argument is that we obtain the bound for the third level iterated integrals merely based on the first two levels, and this reflects the intrinsic nature of rough paths. Our estimates are sharp when both covariance functions have finite 1-variation, which includes a large class of …
This article shows an Itô-Wentzell type formula adapted to rough paths with $α$-Hölder regularity $α\in (\frac{1}{3},\frac{1}{2}]$. We improve previous results of R. Castrequini and P. Catuogno for the Young integral and C. Keller and J. Zhang for rough paths.
We provide a unified analytic approach to study stationary states of controlled differential equations driven by rough paths, using the framework of random dynamical systems and random attractors. Part I deals with driving paths of finite $p$-variations with $1 \leq p <2$ so that the integrals are interpreted in the Young sense. Our method helps to generalize recent results \cite{GAKLBSch2010}, \cite{ducGANSch18}, \cite{duchongcong18} on the existence of the global pullback attractors for the generated random dynamical systems. We also prove sufficient conditions for the attractor to be a sing…
We construct global-in-time solutions for semilinear parabolic rough partial differential equations. We work on a scale of Banach spaces tailored to the controlled rough path approach and derive suitable a-priori estimates of the solution which do not contain quadratic terms.
We introduce the space of rough paths with Sobolev regularity and the corresponding concept of controlled Sobolev paths. Based on these notions, we study rough path integration and rough differential equations. As main result, we prove that the solution map associated to differential equations driven by rough paths is a locally Lipschitz continuous map on the Sobolev rough path space for any arbitrary low regularity $α$ and integrability $p$ provided $α>1/p$.
We establish a new scale of $p$-variation estimates for martingale paraproducts, martingale transforms, and Itô integrals, of relevance in rough paths theory, stochastic, and harmonic analysis. As an application, we introduce rough semimartingales, a common generalization of classical semimartingales and (controlled) rough paths, and their integration theory.

We consider additive functionals of stationary Markov processes and show that under Kipnis-Varadhan type conditions they converge in rough path topology to a Stratonovich Brownian motion, with a correction to the Levy area that can be described in terms of the asymmetry (non-reversibility) of the underlying Markov process. We apply this abstract result to three model problems: First we study random walks with random conductances under the annealed law. If we consider the Ito rough path, then we see a correction to the iterated integrals even though the underlying Markov process is reversible. …
We extend the new approach introduced in arXiv:1912.02064v2 [math.PR] and arXiv:2102.10119v1 [math.PR] for dealing with stochastic Volterra equations using the ideas of Rough Path theory and prove global existence and uniqueness results. The main idea of this approach is simple: Instead of the iterated integrals of a path comprising the data necessary to solve any equation driven by that path, now iterated integral convolutions with the Volterra kernel comprise said data. This leads to the corresponding abstract objects called Volterra-type Rough Paths, as well as the notion of the convolution…
We prove an extension to the classical continuity theorem in rough paths. We show that two $p$-rough paths are close in all levels of iterated integrals provided the first $\lfl p \rfl$ terms are close in a uniform sense. Applications include estimation of the difference of the signatures of two uniformly close paths and convergence rates of Gaussian rough paths.
Calculus via regularizations and rough paths are two methods to approach stochastic integration and calculus close to pathwise calculus. The origin of rough paths theory is purely deterministic, calculus via regularization is based on deterministic techniques but there is still a probability in the background. The goal of this paper is to establish a connection between stochastically controlled-type processes, a concept reminiscent from rough paths theory, and the so-called weak Dirichlet processes. As a by-product, we present the connection between rough and Stratonovich integrals for c{à}dl{…
