A new equivalent condition has been added to Theorem 1.1. In Theorem 1.2, we removed the assumption on the automorphism group which appeared in the previous version
In this paper we provide new necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of Kähler-Einstein metrics on small deformations of a Fano Kähler-Einstein manifold. We also show that the Weil-Petersson metric can be approximated by the Ricci curvatures of the canonical $L^2$ metrics on the direct image bundles. In addition, we describe the plurisubharmonicity of the energy functional of harmonic maps on the Kuranishi space of the deformation of compact Kähler-Einstein manifolds of general type.
We give a characterization of relative Ding stable toric Fano manifolds in terms of the behavior of the modified Ding functional. We call the corresponding behavior of the modified Ding functional the pseudo-boundedness from below. We also discuss the pseudo-boundedness of the Ding / Mabuchi functional of general Fano manifolds.
A short proof of the convergence of the Kahler-Ricci flow on Fano manifolds admitting a Kahler-Einstein metric or a Kahler-Ricci soliton is given, using a variety of recent techniques
We study the Kahler-Ricci flow on Fano manifolds. We show that if the curvature is bounded along the flow and if the manifold is K-polystable and asymptotically Chow semistable, then the flow converges exponentially fast to a Kahler-Einstein metric.
In this paper, we extend Tosatti's method to study the lower boundedness of modified $K$-energy on a Fano manifold and apply this result to study the relative $K$-stability of the deformation space of a Kähler Ricci soliton.
We give a complete criterion for the existence of generalized Kähler Einstein metrics on toric Fano manifolds from view points of a uniform stability in a sense of GIT and the properness of a functional on the space of Kähler metrics.
In this paper, we will establish a regularity theory for the Kähler-Ricci flow on Fano $n$-manifolds with Ricci curvature bounded in $L^p$-norm for some $p > n$. Using this regularity theory, we will also solve a long-standing conjecture for dimension 3. As an application, we give a new proof of the Yau-Tian-Donaldson conjecture for Fano 3-manifolds. The results have been announced in \cite{TiZh12b}.
We give necessary and sufficient conditions for existence of solutions to a general system of complex Monge-Ampère equations on Fano horosymmetric manifolds. In particular, we get necessary and sufficient conditions for existence of coupled Kähler-Ricci solitons, Mabuchi metrics and twisted Kähler-Einstein metrics in terms of combinatorial data of the manifold.
In this short paper, we improve the result of Phong-Song-Sturm on degeneration of Fano Kähler-Ricci solitons by removing the assumption on the uniform bound of the Futaki invariant. Let $\mathcal{KR}(n)$ be the space of Kähler-Ricci solitons on $n$-dimensional Fano manifolds. We show that after passing to a subsequence, any sequence in $\mathcal{KR}(n)$ converge in the Gromov-Hausdorff topology to a Kähler-Ricci soliton on an $n$-dimensional $\mathbb{Q}$-Fano variety with log terminal singularities.
In this short note we determine the greatest lower bounds on Ricci curvature for all Fano $T$-manifolds of complexity one, generalizing the result of Chi Li. Our method of proof is based on the work of Datar and Székelyhidi, using the description of complexity one special configurations given by Ilten and Süß.
The notion of coupled Kähler-Einstein metrics was introduced recently by Hultgren-WittNyström. In this paper we discuss deformation of a coupled Kähler-Einstein metrics on a Fano manifold. In particular we obtain a necessary and sufficient condition for a coupled Kähler-Einstein metric to be deformed to another coupled Kähler-Einstein metric for a Fano manifold admitting non-trivial holomorphic vector fields. In addition we also discuss deformation for a coupled Käher-Einstein metric on a Fano manifold when the complex structure varies.
In this paper, we establish several sufficient and necessary conditions for the convergence of a Kähler-Ricci flow, on a Kähler manifold with positive first Chern class, to a Kähler-Einstein metric (or a shrinking Kähler-Ricci soliton).
In this paper, we give an alternative proof for the convergence of Kähler-Ricci flow on a Fano mnaifold $(M,J)$. This proof differs from that in [TZ3]. Moreover, we generalize the main theorem of [TZ3] to the case that $(M,J)$ may not admit any Kähler-Einstein metrics.

In this paper, we prove that any solution of Kähler-Ricci flow on a Fano compactification $M$ of semisimple complex Lie group, is of type II, if $M$ admits no Kähler-Einstein metrics. As an application, we found two Fano compactifications of $\mathrm{SO}_4(\mathbb{C})$ and one Fano compactification of $\mathrm{Sp}_4(\mathbb{C})$, on which the Kähler-Ricci flow will develop singularities of type II. To the authors' knowledge, these are the first examples of Ricci flow with singularities of type II on Fano manifolds in the literature.
On a Fano manifold M we study the supremum of the possible t such that there is a Kähler metric in c_1(M) with Ricci curvature bounded below by t. This is shown to be the same as the maximum existence time of Aubin's continuity path for finding Kähler-Einstein metrics. We show that on P^2 blown up in one point this supremum is 6/7, and we give upper bounds for other manifolds.
In this paper, we study the uniformly strong convergence of Kähler-Ricci flow on a Fano manifold with varied initial metrics and smooth deformation complex structures. As an application, we prove the uniqueness of Kähler-Ricci solitons in sense of diffeomorphism orbits. The result generalizes Tian-Zhu's theorem for the uniqueness of of Kähler-Ricci solitons on a compact complex manifold, and it is also a generalization of Chen-Sun's result of for the uniqueness of of Kähler-Einstein metric orbits.
In this note, using the recent compactness results of Tian and Chen-Donaldson-Sun, we prove the K-semistable version of Yau-Tian-Donaldson correspondence for Fano manifolds.
We prove that on one Kähler-Einstein Fano manifold without holomorphic vector fields, there exists a unique conical Kähler-Einstein metric along a simple normal crossing divisor with admissible prescribed cone angles. We also establish a curvature estimate for conic metrics along a simple normal crossing divisor which generalizes Li-Rubinstein's estimate and derive high order estimates from this estimate.
In this paper, we prove that a sequence of weak almost Kähler-Ricci solitons under further suitable conditions converge to a Kähler-Ricci soliton with complex codimension of singularities at least 2 in the Gromov-Hausdorff topology. As a corollary, we show that on a Fano manifold with the modified K-energy bounded below, there exists a sequence of weak almost Kähler-Ricci solitons which converge to a Kähler-Ricci soliton with complex codimension of singularities at least 2 in the Gromov-Hausdorff topology.
We study the blowup behavior at infinity of the normalized Kahler-Ricci flow on a Fano manifold which does not admit Kahler-Einstein metrics. We prove an estimate for the Kahler potential away from a multiplier ideal subscheme, which implies that the volume forms along the flow converge to zero locally uniformly away from the same set. Similar results are also proved for Aubin's continuity method.
In this paper we investigate codimension one Fano distributions on Fano manifolds with Picard number one. We classify Fano distributions of maximal index on complete intersections in weighted projective spaces, Fano contact manifolds, Grassmannians of lines and their linear sections, and describe their moduli spaces. As a consequence, we obtain a classification of codimension one del Pezzo distributions on Fano manifolds with Picard number one.
In this paper, we study the long-term behavior of the conical Kähler-Ricci flow on Fano manifold $M$. First, based on our work of locally uniform regularity for the twisted Kähler-Ricci flows, we obtain a long-time solution to the conical Kähler-Ricci flow by limiting a sequence of these twisted flows. Second, we study the uniform Perelman's estimates of the twisted Kähler-Ricci flows. After that, we prove that the conical Kähler-Ricci flow must converge to a conical Kähler-Einstein metric if there exists one.
In this paper, we extend the method in [TZhu5] to study the energy level $L(\cdot)$ of Perelman's entropy $λ(\cdot)$ for Kähler-Ricci flow on a Fano manifold. Consequently, we first compute the supremum of $λ(\cdot)$ in Kähler class $2πc_1(M)$ under an assumption that the modified Mabuchi's K-energy $μ(\cdot)$ defined in [TZhu2] is bounded from below. Secondly, we give an alternative proof to the main theorem about the convergence of Kähler-Ricci flow in [TZhu3].
We prove the existence of Kahler-Einstein metrics on Q-Gorenstein smoothable, K-polystable Q-Fano varieties, and we show how these metrics behave, in the Gromov-Hausdorff sense, under Q-Gorenstein smoothings.
We exhibit the first non-trivial concrete examples of Gromov-Hausdorff compactifications of moduli spaces of Kähler-Einstein Fano manifolds in all complex dimensions bigger than two (Fano K-moduli spaces). We also discuss potential applications to explicit study of moduli spaces of K-stable Fano manifolds with large anti-canonical volume. Our arguments are based on recent progress about the geometry of metric tangent cones and on related ideas about the algebro-geometric study of singularities of K-stable Fano varieties.
In this paper, we prove that on a Fano $\mathbf G$-manifold $(M,J)$, the Gromov-Hausdorff limit of Kähler-Ricci flow with initial metric in $2πc_1(M)$ must be a $\mathbb Q$-Fano horosymmetric variety $M_\infty$, which admits a singular Kähler-Ricci soliton. Moreover, $M_\infty$ is a limit of $\mathbb C^*$-degeneration of $M$ induced by an element in the Lie algebra of Cartan torus of $\mathbf G$. A similar result can be also proved for Kähler-Ricci flows on any Fano horosymmetric manifolds. As an application, we generalize our previous result about the type II singularity of Kähler-Ricci flows…
We consider Fano manifolds admitting an algebraic torus action with general orbit of codimension one. Using a recent result of Datar and Szekelyhidi, we effectively determine the existence of Kahler-Ricci solitons for those manifolds via the notion of equivariant K-stability. This allows us to give new examples of Kahler-Einstein Fano threefolds, and Fano threefolds admitting a non-trivial Kahler-Ricci soliton.
We prove that Kahler-Einstein Fano manifolds with finite automorphism groups form Hausdorff moduli algebraic space with only quotient singularities. We also discuss the limits as Q-Fano varieties which should be put on the boundary of its canonical compactification.
We consider the space KR(n,F) of Kahler-Ricci solitons on n-dimensional Fano manifolds with Futaki invariant bounded by F. We prove a partial C^0 estimate for KR(n,F) as a generalization of the recent work of Donaldson-Sun for Fano Kahler-Einstein manifolds. In particular, any sequence in KR(n,F) has a convergent subsequence in the Gromov-Hausdorff topology to a Kahler- Ricci soliton on a Q-Fano variety with log terminal singularities.
The global holomorphic α-invariant introduced by Tian is closely related with the study in the existence of Kahler-Einstein metric. We apply the result of Tian, Lu and Zelditch on polarized Kahler metrics to approximate plurisubharmonic functions and compute the α-invariant of toric Fano manifolds.
We show that any $n$-dimensional Fano manifold $X$ admitting Kähler-Einstein metrics satisfies that the anti-canonical volume is less than or equal to the value $(n+1)^n$. Moreover, the equality holds if and only if $X$ is isomorphic to the $n$-dimensional projective space.
In this Thesis, I investigate how Fano manifolds equipped with a Kahler-Einstein metric can degenerate as metric spaces (in the Gromov-Hausdorff topology) and some of the relations of this question with Algebraic Geometry, in particular in the direction of the study of moduli spaces and their compactifications.
In this paper, we prove the long-time existence and uniqueness of the conical Kähler-Ricci flow with weak initial data which admits $L^{p}$ density for some $p>1$ on Fano manifold. Furthermore, we study the convergence behavior of this kind of flow.
We show that any $n$-dimensional Fano manifold $X$ with $α(X)=n/(n+1)$ and $n\geq 2$ is K-stable, where $α(X)$ is the alpha invariant of $X$ introduced by Tian. In particular, any such $X$ admits Kähler-Einstein metrics and the holomorphic automorphism group of $X$ is finite.
Let $M$ be a quaternionic manifold, $\dim M=4k$, whose twistor space is a Fano manifold. We prove the following: (a) $M$ admits a reduction to $Sp(1) \times GL(k,H)$ if and only if $M=HP^k$, (b) either $b_2(M)=0$ or $M=Gr_2(k+2,C)$. This generalizes results of S. Salamon and C.R. LeBrun, respectively, who obtained the same conclusions under the assumption that $M$ is a complete quaternionic-Kaehler manifold with positive scalar curvature.
The purpose of this paper is to calculate the support of the multiplier ideal sheaves derived from the Kähler-Ricci flow on certain toric Fano manifolds with large symmetry. The early idea of this paper has already been in Appendix of \cite{futaki-sano0711}.
We explain a characterization of Einstein-Fano manifolds in terms of the lower bound of the density of the volume of the Kähler-Ricci Flow. This is a direct consequence of Perelman's uniform estimate for the Kähler-Ricci Flow and a $C^0$ estimate of Tian and Zhu.
We prove that every projectively normal Fano manifold in $\mathbb{P}^{n+r}$ of index $1$, codimension $r$ and dimension $n\geq 10r$ is birationally superrigid and K-stable. This result was previously proved by Zhuang under the complete intersection assumption.
We show that the pair $(X, -K_X)$ is K-unstable for a del Pezzo manifold $X$ of degree five with dimension four or five. This disprove a conjecture of Odaka and Okada.
We construct a canonical Hausdorff complex analytic moduli space of Fano manifolds with Kähler-Ricci solitons. This naturally enlarges the moduli space of Fano manifolds with Kähler-Einstein metrics, which was constructed by Odaka and Li-Wang-Xu. We discover a moment map picture for Kähler-Ricci solitons, and give complex analytic charts on the topological space consisting of Kähler-Ricci solitons, by studying differential geometric aspects of this infinite dimensional moment map. Some stacky words and arguments on Gromov-Hausdorff convergence help to glue them together in the holomorphic mann…
We introduce a new effective stability named "divisorial stability" for Fano manifolds which is weaker than K-stability and is stronger than slope stability along divisors. We show that we can test divisorial stability via the volume function. As a corollary, we prove that the first coordinate of the barycenter of the Okounkov body of the anticanonical divisor is not bigger than one for any Kähler-Einstein Fano manifold. In particular, for toric Fano manifolds, the existence of Kähler-Einstein metrics is equivalent to divisorial semistability. Moreover, we find many non-Kähler-Einstein Fano ma…
We give a simple criterion for slope stability of Fano manifolds $X$ along divisors or smooth subvarieties. As an application, we show that $X$ is slope stable along an ample effective divisor $D\subset X$ unless $X$ is isomorphic to a projective space and $D$ is a hyperplane section. We also give counterexamples to Aubin's conjecture on the relation between the anticanonical volume and the existence of a Kähler-Einstein metric. Finally, we consider the case that $\dim X=3$; we give a complete answer for slope (semi)stability along divisors of Fano threefolds.
We obtain a compactness result for Fano manifolds and Kähler Ricci flows. Comparing to the more general Riemannian versions by Anderson and Hamilton, in this Fano case, the curvature assumption is much weaker and is preserved by the Kähler Ricci flows. One assumption is the boundedness of the Ricci potential and the other is the smallness of Perelman's entropy. As one application, we obtain a new local regularity criteria and structure result for Kähler Ricci flows. The proof is based on a Hölder estimate for the gradient of harmonic functions, which may be of independent interest.
In this note we report on examples of 7- and 8-dimensional toric Fano manifolds that are not symmetric and still admit a Kaehler-Einstein metric. This answers a question first posed by V.V. Batyrev and E. Selivanova. The examples were found in the classification of toric Fano manifolds up to dimension 8 obtained by M. Oebro. We also discuss related open questions and conjectures.
We prove a necessary and sufficient condition in terms of the barycenters of a collection of polytopes for existence of coupled Kähler-Einstein metrics on toric Fano manifolds. This confirms the toric case of a coupled version of the Yau-Tian-Donaldson conjecture. We also obtain a necessary and sufficient condition for existence of torus-invariant solutions to a system of soliton type equations on toric Fano manifolds. Some of these solutions provide natural candidates for the large time limits of a certain geometric flow generalizing the Kähler-Ricci flow.
We give a criterion for the coercivity of the Mabuchi functional for general Kähler classes on Fano manifolds in terms of Tian's alpha invariant. This generalises a result of Tian in the anti-canonical case implying the existence of a Kähler-Einstein metric. We also prove the alpha invariant is a continuous function on the Kähler cone. As an application, we provide new Kähler classes on a general degree one del Pezzo surface for which the Mabuchi functional is coercive.
The purpose of this paper is to clarify all of the uniformly relatively Ding stable toric Fano threefolds and fourfolds as well as unstable ones. The key player in our classification result is the Mabuchi constants, which can be calculated by combinatorial data of the associated moment polytopes due to the work of Yao [33]. In Tables 1-3, we give the list of uniform relative Ding stability of all toric Fano manifolds in dimension up to four with the values of the Mabuchi constants. As an application of our main theorem (Theorem 1.1), we clarify the difference between relative $K$-stability and…
In this note, we prove that there is a canonical continuous Hermitian metric on the CM line bundle over the proper moduli space $\bar{\mathcal{M}}$ of smoothable Kahler-Einstein Fano varieties. The curvature of this metric is the Weil-Petersson current, which exists as a positive (1,1)-current on $\bar{\mathcal{M}}$ and extends the canonical Weil-Petersson current on the moduli space parametrizing smooth Kahler-Einstein Fano manifolds $\mathcal{M}$. As a consequence, we show that the CM line bundle is nef and big on $\bar{\mathcal{M}}$ and its restriction on $\mathcal{M}$ is ample.
We show that if a Fano manifold has discrete automorphism group and admits a polarized Kähler-Einstein metric, then there exists a sequence of anticanonically balanced metrics converging smoothly to the Kähler-Einstein metric. Our proof is based on a simplification of Donaldson's proof of the analogous result for balanced metrics, replacing a delicate geometric argument by the use of Berezin-Toeplitz quantization. We then apply this result to compute the asymptotics of the optimal rate of convergence to the fixed point of Donaldson's iterations in the anticanonical setting.
