Let $R$ be a ring. It is proved that an $R$-module $M$ is Baer (resp. dual Baer) if and only if every exact sequence $0\rightarrow X\rightarrow M\rightarrow Y\rightarrow 0$ with $Y\in$ Cog$(M_R)$ (resp. $X\in$ Gen$(M_R)$) splits. This shows that being (dual) Baer is a Morita invariant property. As more applications, the Baer condition for the $R$-module $M^+ $ = Hom$_{\Bbb Z}(M,{\Bbb Q}/{\Bbb Z})$ is investigated and shown that $R$ is a von Neumann regular ring, if $R^+$ is a Baer $R$-module. Baer modules with (weak) chain conditions are studied and determined when a Baer (resp. dual baer) module
is a direct sum of mutually orthogonal prime (resp. co-prime) modules. Finitely generated dual Baer modules over commutative rings are studeid
For a given class of R-modules Q, a module M is called Q-copure Baer injective if any map from a Q-copure left ideal of R into M can be extended to a map from R into M. Depending on the class Q, this concept is both a dualization and a generalization of pure Baer injectivity. We show that every module can be embedded as Q-copure submodule of a Q-copure Baer injective module. Certain types of rings are characterized using properties of Q-copure Baer injective modules. For example a ring R is Q-coregular if and only if every Q-copure Baer injective R-module is injective.
The Schröder-Bernstein Theorem for sets is well known. The question of whether two subisomorphic algebraic structures are isomorphic to each other, is of interest. An $R$-module $M$ is said to satisfy the Schröder-Bernstein (or SB) property if any pair of direct summands of $M$ are isomorphic provided that each one is isomorphic to a direct summand of the other. A ring $R$ (with an involution $\star$) is called a Baer (Baer $\star$-)ring if the right annihilator of every nonempty subset of $R$ is generated by an idempotent (a projection). It is clear that every Baer $\star$-ring is a Baer ring…
We investigate relative CS-Baer objects in abelian categories in relationship with other relevant classes of objects such as relative Baer objects, extending objects, objects having certain summand intersection properties and relative CS-Rickart objects. Dual results are automatically obtained by applying the duality principle in abelian categories. We also study direct sums of relative CS-Baer objects, and we determine the complete structure of dual self-CS-Baer modules over Dedekind domains. Further applications are given to module categories.
On Skew Polynomials over p.q.-Baer and p.p.-Modules
设$M_R$是模,$σ$是$R$的自同态.设$m\in M$和$a\in R$,我们说$M_R$满足条件$\mathcal{C}_1$(分别为$\mathcal{C}_2$),如果$ma=0$蕴涵$mσ(a)=0$(分别为$mσ(a)=0$蕴涵$ma=0$)。 此外,如果$M_R$满足$\mathcal{C}_2$且$σ$ -skew Armendariz,则$M_R$是p. p. -模块当且仅当$M[x;σ]_{R[x;σ]}$是p. p. -模块当且仅当$M[x,x^{-1};σ]_{R[x,x^{-1};σ]}$($σ\in Aut(R)$)是p. p. - module.得到了许多推广,当$M_R$是半交换模时,得到了更多的结果.
It is shown that the Baer-Kaplansky theorem can be extended to all abelian groups provided that the rings of endomorphisms of groups are replaced by trusses of endomorphisms of corresponding heaps. That is, every abelian group is determined up to isomorphism by its endomorphism truss and every isomorphism between two endomorphism trusses associated to some abelian groups $G$ and $H$ is induced by an isomorphism between $G$ and $H$ and an element from $H$. This correspondence is then extended to all modules over a ring by considering heaps of modules. It is proved that the truss of endomorphism…
In this paper we introduce the notions of Rickart and Baer lattices and their duals. We show that part of the theory of Rickart and Baer modules can be understood just using techniques from the theory of lattices. For, we use linear morphisms introduced by T. Albu and M. Iosif. We focus on a submonoid with zero $\mathfrak{m}$ of the monoid of all linear endomorphism of a lattice $\mathcal{L}$ in order to give a more general approach and apply our results in the theory of modules. We also show that $\mathfrak{m}$-Rickart and $\mathfrak{m}$-Baer lattices can be characterized by the annihilators …
We show how the theory of (dual) strongly relative Rickart objects may be employed in order to study strongly relative regular objects and (dual) strongly relative Baer objects in abelian categories. For each of them, we prove general properties, we analyze the behaviour with respect to (co)products, and we study the transfer via functors. We also give applications to Grothendieck categories, (graded) module categories and comodule categories.
In this paper, we introduce the concept of centrally endo-AIP modules. We call a module M centrally endo-AIP, if the left annihilator of any fully invariant submodule N of M in the endomorphism ring S = End(M) is a centrally s-unital ideal of S. We discuss some properties of centrally endo-AIP modules. We also study the endomorphism ring of centrally endo-AIP modules and characterize quasi-Baer modules in terms of centrally endo-AIP modules
Let $R$ be a commutative unital ring and $a\in R.$ We introduce and study properties of a functor $aΓ_{a}(-),$ called the locally nilradical on the category of $R$-modules. $aΓ_{a}(-)$ is a generalisation of both the torsion functor (also called section functor) and Baer's lower nilradical for modules. Several local-global properties of the functor $aΓ_{a}(-)$ are established. As an application, results about reduced $R$-modules are obtained and hitherto unknown ring theoretic radicals as well as structural theorems are deduced.
Baer's Criterion of injectivity implies that injectivity of a module is a factorization property w.r.t. a single monomorphism. Using the notion of a cotorsion pair, we study generalizations and dualizations of factorization properties in dependence on the algebraic structure of the underlying ring $R$ and on additional set-theoretic hypotheses. For $R$ commutative noetherian of Krull dimension $0 < d < \infty$, we show that the assertion `projectivity is a factorization property w.r.t. a single epimorphism' is independent of ZFC + GCH. We also show that if $R$ is any ring and there exists a st…
Almost dual pairs and definable classes of modules
Holm(H. Holm,Modules with cosupport and injective functors,Algebr.代表。Theor.,13(2010),543-560)考虑了右模块的类别与那些在一组非线性呈现的模块中具有支持的右模块的类别的对偶。我们把他的一些结果放在可定义子范畴上的初等对偶的背景下,
The restriction of a (dual) Specht module to a smaller symmetric group has a filtration by (dual) Specht modules of this smaller group. In the cellular structure of the group algebra of the symmetric group, the cell modules are exactly the (dual) Specht modules. The partition algebra is a cellular algebra containing the group algebra of the symmetric group. In this article, we study the structure of the restriction of a cell module to the group algebra of a symmetric group (with smaller index) and find conditions for the restriction to possess a (dual) Specht filtration.
We prove a tight connection between reflexive modules over a one-dimensional ring $R$ and its birational extensions that are self-dual as $R$-modules. Consequently, we show that a complete local reduced Arf ring has finitely many indecomposable reflexive modules up to isomorphism, which can be represented precisely by the local rings infinitely near it. We also characterize Arf rings by the property that any reflexive module is self-dual. We give applications on dimension of subcategories and existence of endomorphism rings of small global dimension (non-commutative desingularizations). Our re…
It is well known that a ring $R$ is right Kasch if each simple right $R$-module embeds in a projective right $R$-module. In this paper we study the dual notion and call a ring $R$ right dual Kasch if each simple right $R$-module is a homomorphic image of an injective right $R$-module. We prove that $R$ is right dual Kasch if and only if every finitely generated projective right $R$-module is coclosed in its injective hull. Typical examples of dual Kasch rings are self-injective rings, V-rings and commutative perfect rings. Skew group rings of dual Kasch rings by finite groups are dual Kasch if…
