We propose a quantum simulation of a supersymmetric lattice model using atoms trapped in a 1D configuration and interacting through a Rydberg dressed potential. The elementary excitations in the model are kinks or (in a sector with one extra particle) their superpartners - the skinks. The two are connected by supersymmetry and display identical quantum dynamics. We provide an analytical description of the kink/skink quench dynamics and propose a protocol to prepare and detect these excitations in the quantum simulator. We make a detailed analysis, based on numerical simulation, of the Rydberg atom simulator and show that it accurately tracks the dynamics of the supersymmetric model.
The resolvent of supersymmetric Dirac Hamiltonian is studied in detail. Due to supersymmetry the squared Dirac Hamiltonian becomes block-diagonal whose elements are in essence non-relativistic Schrödinger-type Hamiltonians. This enables us to find a Feynman-type path-integral representation of the resulting Green's functions. In addition, we are also able to express the spectral properties of the supersymmetric Dirac Hamiltonian in terms of those of the non-relativistic Schrödinger Hamiltonians. The methods are explicitly applied to the free Dirac Hamiltonian, the so-called Dirac oscillator an…
This paper examines the features of a generalized position-dependent mass Hamiltonian in a supersymmetric framework in which the constraints of pseudo-Hermiticity and CPT are naturally embedded. Different representations of the charge operator are considered that lead to new mass-deformed superpotentials which are inherently PT-symmetric. The qualitative spectral behavior of the Hamiltonian is studied and several interesting consequences are noted.
We study a generalized scheme of Swanson Hamiltonian from a second-derivative pseudosupersymmetric approach. We discuss plausible choices of the underlying quasi-Hamiltonian and consider the viability of applications to systems like the isotonic oscillator and CPRS potential.
We investigate the most general form of the one-dimensional Dirac Hamiltonian $H_D$ in the presence of scalar and pseudoscalar potentials. To seek embedding of supersymmetry (SUSY) in it, as an alternative procedure to directly employing the intertwining relations, we construct a quasi-Hamiltonian $\mathcal{K}$, defined as the square of $H_D$, to explore the consequences. We show that the diagonal elements of $\mathcal{K}$ under a suitable approximation reflects the presence of a superpotential thus proving a useful guide in unveiling the role of SUSY. For illustrative purpose we apply our sch…
The most general Dirac Hamiltonians in $(1+1)$ dimensions are revisited under the requirement to exhibit a supersymmetric structure. It is found that supersymmetry allows either for a scalar or a pseudo-scalar potential. Their spectral properties are shown to be represented by those of the associated non-relativistic Witten model. The general discussion is extended to include the corresponding relativistic and non-relativistic resolvents. As example the well-studied relativistic Dirac oscillator is considered and the associated resolved kernel is found in a closed form expression by utilising …
By modifying and generalizing known supersymmetric models we are able to find four different sets of one-dimensional Hamiltonians for the inverted harmonic oscillator. The first set of Hamiltonians is derived by extending the supersymmetric quantum mechanics with reflections to non-Hermitian supercharges. The second set is obtained by generalizing the supersymmetric quantum mechanics valid for non-Hermitian supercharges with the Dunkl derivative instead of $\frac{d}{dx}$. Also, by changing the derivative $\frac{d}{dx}$ by the Dunkl derivative in the creation and annihilation-type operators of …
Supersymmetry allows one to build a hierarchy of Hamiltonians that share the same spectral properties and which are pairwise connected through common superpotentials. The iso-spectral properties of these Hamiltonians imply that the dynamics and therefore control of different eigenstates are connected through supersymmetric intertwining relations. In this work we explore how this enables one to study general dynamics, shortcuts to adiabaticity (STA) and quantum speed limits for distinct states of different supersymmetric partner potentials by using the infinite box as an example.
The energy spectra of two different quantum systems are paired through supersymmetric algorithms. One of the systems is Hermitian and the other is characterized by a complex-valued potential, both of them with only real eigenvalues in their spectrum. The superpotential that links these systems is complex-valued, parameterized by the solutions of the Ermakov equation, and may be expressed either in nonlinear form or as the logarithmic derivative of a properly chosen complex-valued function. The non-Hermitian systems can be constructed to be either parity-time-symmetric or non-parity-time-symmet…
We show that the supersymmetric algebra of Witten's quantum mechanics is invariant under a given point canonical transformation. It is shown that Witten's supersymmetric quantum mechanics can be isospectral or not to the seed Hamiltonian depending on the space coordinate you work on. We illustrate our results by generating a new class of exactly solvable supersymmetric partner Hamiltonians which are not isospectral to the seed Hamiltonian.
We propose time-dependent Darboux (supersymmetric) transformations that provide a scheme for the calculation of explicitly time-dependent solvable non-Hermitian partner Hamiltonians. Together with two Hermitian Hamilitonians the latter form a quadruple of Hamiltonians that are related by two time-dependent Dyson equations and two intertwining relations in form of a commutative diagram. Our construction is extended to the entire hierarchy of Hamiltonians obtained from time dependent Darboux-Crum transformations. As an alternative approach we also discuss the intertwining relations for Lewis-Rie…
We present the general ideas on SuperSymmetric Quantum Mechanics (SUSY-QM) using different representations for the operators in question, which are defined by the corresponding bosonic Hamiltonian as part of SUSY Hamiltonian and its supercharges, which are defined as matrix or differential operators. We show that, although most of the SUSY partners of one-dimensional Schrödinger problems have already been found, there are still some unveiled aspects of the factorization procedure which may lead to richer insights of the problem involved.
We find supersymmetric partners of a family of self-adjoint operators which are self-adjoint extensions of the differential operator $-d^2/dx^2$ on $L^2[-a,a]$, $a>0$, that is, the one dimensional infinite square well. First of all, we classify these self-adjoint extensions in terms of several choices of the parameters determining each of the extensions. There are essentially two big groups of extensions. In one, the ground state has strictly positive energy. On the other, either the ground state has zero or negative energy. In the present paper, we show that each of the extensions belonging t…
