The complete theory of cosmological evolution's macroscopic description is constructed with a help of self-consistent field. The theory includes a subsystem of linear equations of perturbations' evolution and nonlinear macroscopic Einstein equations and equations of a scalar field. We provide examples of system's solution which show the principal difference of the cosmological models of the early Universe built on homogenous and locally fluctuating scalar fields.

A quantum measurement-like event can produce any of a number of macroscopically distinct results, with corresponding macroscopically distinct gravitational fields, from the same initial state. Hence the probabilistically evolving large-scale structure of space-time is not precisely or even always approximately described by the deterministic Einstein equations. Since the standard treatment of gravitational wave propagation assumes the validity of the Einstein equations, it is questionable whether we should expect all its predictions to be empirically verified. In particular, one might expect th…
Here I present a stationary cylindrically symmetric asymptotically Einstein static universe solution with the matter consisting of a cosmological and rotating dust term which admits predicted black hole event horizon.
It is argued that the solution space of the equation determining the class of $f(R)$ theories which admit an Einstein static universe should be broadened by including the algebraic roots.
In this letter we have considered the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of relativistic massless scalar particle which conformally coupled to the background of Einstein universe. We found the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions exactly.
The gravitaional force produced by a point particle, like the sun, in the background of the static Einstein universe is studied. Both the approximate solution in the weak field limit and exact solution are obtained. The main properties of the solution are {\it i}) near the point particle, the metric approaches the Schwarzschild one and the radius of its singularity becomes larger than that of the Schwarzschild singularity, {\it ii}) far from the point particle, the metric approaches the static Einstein closed universe. The maximum length of the equator of the universe becomes smaller than that…
A family of cosmological models is considered which in a certain synchronized system of reference possess flat slices t = const. They are generated from the Einstein-de Sitter universe by a suitable transformation. Under physically reasonable presumptions these transformed models fulfil certain energy conditions.
We study the cosmological models in which an extended Chaplygin gas universe is merged with the braneworld scenario. In particular, we examine the realization of Einstein static universe on the brane embedded in a non-constant curvature bulk space and perform a detailed perturbation analysis. We extract the stability conditions and find their impacts on the geometric equation of state parameter and the spatial curvature of the universe.
We report a symmetry property of the Einstein-Friedmann equations for spatially flat Friedmann-Lemaître-Robertson-Walker universes filled with a perfect fluid with any constant equation of state. The symmetry transformations form a one-parameter Abelian group.
We present a brief overview of the stability analysis of the Einstein static universe in various modified theories of gravity, like f(R) gravity, Gauss-Bonnet or f(G) gravity, and Horava-Lifshitz gravity.
In this short paper we establish the definition of the Lie derivative of a second rank tensor in the context of teleparallel theory of gravity and also extend it for a general tensor of rank $p+q$. This definition is then used to find Killing vectors of the Einstein universe. It turns out that Killing vectors of the Einstein universe in the teleparallel theory are the same as in General Relativity.
We investigate stability of the Einstein static solution against homogeneous scalar, vector and tensor perturbations in the context of Rastall theory of gravity. We show that this solution in the presence of perfect fluid and vacuum energy originating from conformally-invariant fields is stable. Using the fix point method and taking linear homogeneous perturbations, we find that the scale factor of Einstein static universe for closed deformed isotropic and homogeneous FLRW universe depends on the coupling parameter $λ$ between the energy-momentum tensor and the gradient of Ricci scalar. Thus, …
We investigate stability of the Einstein static universe against the scalar, vector and tensor perturbations in the context of induced matter brane gravity. It is shown that in the framework of this model, the Einstein static universe has a positive spatial curvature. In contrast to the classical general relativity, it is found that a stable Einstein static universe against the scalar perturbations does exist provided that the variation of time dependent geometrical equation of state parameter is proportional to the minus of the variation of the scale factor, $δω_{g}(t)=-Cδa(t)$. We obtain neu…
We study the back-reaction effects of the finite-temperature scalar field and the photon field in the background of an Einstein universe. In each case we find a relation between the temperature of the universe and its radius. These relations exhibit a minimum radius below which no self-consistent solution for the Einstein field equation can be found. A maximum temperature marks the transition from the vacuum dominated era to the radiation dominated era. An interpretation to this behavior in terms of Bose-Einstein condensation in the case of the scalar field is given.
A panoramic view, preceded by a short background of Newtonian mechanics and Maxwellian electrodynamics, is offered on the extent of how Einstein's space-time geometry, believed to be central to an understanding of the structure of the universe, is overshadowed by several hitherto unheard of features like dark matter and dark energy, that seem to be necessary, but by no means sufficient, for a more complete picture.
We study the stability of Einstein static Universe, with FLRW metric, by considering linear homogeneous perturbations in the kinetic coupled gravity. By taking linear homogeneous perturbations, we find that the stability of Einstein static Universe, in the kinetic coupled gravity with quadratic scalar field potential, for closed ($K=1$) isotropic and homogeneous FLRW Universe depends on the coupling parameters $κ$ and $\varepsilon$. Specifically, for $κ=L_P^2$ and $\varepsilon=1$ we find that the stability condition imposes the inequality $a_0>\sqrt{3}L_P$ on the initial size $a_0$ of the clos…
In this paper we investigate the Bose-Einstein condensation of massive spin-1 particles in an Einstein universe. The system is considered under relativistic conditions taking into consideration the possibility of particle-antiparticle pair production. An exact expression for the charge density is obtained, then certain approximations are employed in order to obtain the solutions in closed form. A discussion of the approximations employed in this and other work is given. The effects of finite-size and spin-curvature coupling are emphasized.
This paper explores stability of the Einstein universe against linear homogeneous perturbations in the background of $f(\mathcal{G},T)$ gravity. We construct static as well as perturbed field equations and investigate stability regions for the specific forms of generic function $f(\mathcal{G},T)$ corresponding to conserved as well as non-conserved energy-momentum tensor. We use the equation of state parameter to parameterize the stability regions. The graphical analysis shows that the suitable choice of parameters lead to stable regions of the Einstein universe.
We investigate the back reaction of cosmological perturbations on the evolution of the Universe using the renormalization group method. Starting from the second order perturbed Einstein's equation, we renormalize a scale factor of the Universe and derive the evolution equation for the effective scale factor which includes back reaction due to inhomogeneities of the Universe. The resulting equation has the same form as the standard Friedman-Robertson-Walker equation with the effective energy density and pressure which represent the back reaction effect.
This paper investigates the existence and stability of Einstein universe in the context of $f(R,T,Q)$ gravity, where $Q=R_{μν}T^{μν}$. Considering linear homogeneous perturbations around scale factor and energy density, we formulate static as well as perturbed field equations. We parameterize the stability regions corresponding to conserved as well as non-conserved energy-momentum tensor using linear equation of state parameter for particular models of this gravity. The graphical analysis concludes that for a suitable choice of parameters, the stable regions of the Einstein universe are obtain…
Stability of the Einstein static universe versus the linear scalar, vector and tensor perturbations is investigated in the context of deformed Hořava-Lifshitz cosmology inspired by entropic force scenario. A general stability condition against the linear scalar perturbations is obtained. Using this general condition, it is shown that there is no stable Einstein static universe for the case of flat universe, $k=0$. For the the special case of large values of running parameter of HL gravity $ω$, in a positively curved universe $k>0$, the domination of the quintessence and phantom matter fields w…
The purpose of this paper is to analyze the existence of static stable Einstein universe using inhomogeneous linear perturbations in the context of $f(R,T)$ gravity ($R$ and $T$ denote the scalar curvature and trace of the stress-energy tensor, respectively). The static and perturbed field equations are constructed for perfect fluid parameterized by linear equation of state parameter. We obtain solutions manifesting the Einstein static state by considering peculiar $f(R,T)$ forms for vanishing and non-vanishing conservation of the stress-energy tensor. It is observed that stable static Einstei…
Some properties of an exact solution due to Vaidya, describing the gravitational field produced by a point particle in the background of the static Einstein universe are examined. The maximal analytic extension and the nature of the singularities of the model are discussed. By using the Euclidean approach, some quantum aspects are analysed and the thermodynamics of this spacetime is also discussed.
The back reaction effect of the neutrino field at finite temperature in the background of the static Einstein universe is investigated. A relationship between the temperature of the universe and its radius is found. As in the previously studied cases of the massless scalar field and the photon field, this relation exhibit a minimum radius below which no self-consistent solution for the Einstein field equation can be found. A maximum temperature marks the transition from a vacuum dominated state to the radiation dominated state universe. In the light of the results obtained for the scalar, neut…
Recently, Horava proposed a power counting renormalizable theory for (3+1)-dimensional quantum gravity, which reduces to Einstein gravity with a non-vanishing cosmological constant in IR, but possesses improved UV behaviors. In this work, we analyze the stability of the Einstein static universe by considering linear homogeneous perturbations in the context of an IR modification of Horava gravity, which implies a `soft' breaking of the `detailed balance' condition. The stability regions of the Einstein static universe are parameterized by the linear equation of state parameter w=p/ρand the para…
We present a time-dependent solution of the Maxwell equations in the Einstein universe, whose electric and magnetic fields, as seen by the stationary observers, are aligned with the Clifford parallels of the $3$-sphere $S^3$. The conformal equivalence between Minkowski's spacetime and (a region of) the Einstein cylinder is then exploited in order to obtain a knotted, finite energy, radiating solution of the Maxwell equations in flat spacetime. We also discuss similar electromagnetic fields in expanding closed Friedmann models, and compute the matter content of such configurations.
We study the back reaction effect of massless minimally coupled scalar field at finite temperatures in the background of Einstein universe. Substituting for the vacuum expectation value of the components of the energy-momentum tensor on the RHS of the Einstein equation, we deduce a relationship between the radius of the universe and its temperature. This relationship exhibit a maximum temperature, below the Planck scale, at which the system changes its behaviour drastically. The results are compared with the case of a conformally coupled field. An investigation into the values of the cosmologi…
As an example of a black hole in a non-flat background a composite static spacetime is constructed. It comprises a vacuum Schwarzschild spacetime for the interior of the black hole across whose horizon it is matched on to the spacetime of Vaidya representing a black hole in the background of the Einstein universe. The scale length of the exterior sets a maximum to the black hole mass. To obtain a non-singular exterior, the Vaidya metric is matched to an Einstein universe. The behaviour of scalar waves is studied in this composite model.
We study UV-finite theory of induced gravity. We use scalar fields, Dirac fields and vector fields as matter fields whose one-loop effects induce the gravitational action. To obtain the mass spectrum which satisfies the UV-finiteness condition, we use a graph-based construction of mass matrices. The existence of a self-consistent static solution for an Einstein universe is shown in the presence of degenerate fermion.
Hybrid metric-Palatini gravity is a recent and novel approach to modified theories of gravity, which consists of adding to the metric Einstein-Hilbert Lagrangian an f(R) term constructed a la Palatini. It was shown that the theory passes local tests even if the scalar field is very light, and thus implies the existence of a long-range scalar field, which is able to modify the dynamics in galactic and cosmological scales, but leaves the Solar System unaffected. In this work, motivated by the possibility that the Universe may have started out in an asymptotically Einstein static state in the inf…
The interaction between bulk and dynamic domain wall in the presence of a linear / non-linear electromagnetism make energy density, tension and pressure on the wall all variables, depending on the wall position. In [1] this fact seems to be ignored.
The hypothesis that gravitational self-binding energy may be the source for the vacuum energy term of cosmology is studied in a Newtonian Ansatz. For spherical spaces the attractive force of gravitation and the negative pressure of the vacuum energy term form a self stabilizing system under very reasonable restrictions for the parameters, among them a characteristic coefficient βof self energy. In the Weyl geometric approach to cosmological redshift, Einstein-Weyl universes with observational restrictions of the curvature parameters are dynamically stable, if βis about 40 % smaller than in the…
In the present paper we investigate the effects caused by the modification of the dispersion relation obtained by solving the Klein-Gordon equation in the closed Einstein's universe in the context of rainbow's gravity models. Thus, we analyse how the quantum vacuum fluctuations of the scalar field are modified when compared with the results obtained in the usual General Relativity scenario. The regularization, and consequently the renormalization, of the vacuum energy is performed adopting the Epstein-Hurwitz and Riemann's zeta functions.
We investigate whether or not an Einstein Static universe is a solution to the cosmological equations in $f(R)$ gravity. It is found that only one class of $f(R)$ theories admits an Einstein Static model, and that this class is neutrally stable with respect to vector and tensor perturbations for all equations of state on all scales. Scalar perturbations are only stable on all scales if the matter fluid equation of state satisfies $c_s^2>\frac{\sqrt{5}-1}{6}\approx 0.21$. This result is remarkably similar to the GR case, where it was found that the Einstein Static model is stable for $c_s^2>{1/…
The emergent mechanism provides a possible way to resolve the big bang singularity problem by assuming that our universe originates from the Einstein static (ES) state. Thus, the existence of a stable ES solution becomes a very crucial prerequisite for the emergent scenario. In this paper, we study the stability of an ES universe in gravity theory with a non-minimal coupling between the kinetic term of a scalar field and the Einstein tensor. We find that the ES solution is stable under both scalar and tensor perturbations when the model parameters satisfy certain conditions, which indicates th…
We study the static cosmological solutions and their stability at background level in the framework of massive bigravity theory with Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) metrics. By the modification proposed in the cosmological equations subject to a perfect fluid we obtain new solutions interpreted as the Einstein static universe. It turns out that the non-vanishing size of initial scale factor of Einstein static universe depends on the non-vanishing three-dimensional spatial curvature of FRW metrics and also the graviton's mass. By dynamical system approach and numerical analysis, we find that t…

The type D Kasner vacuum solution of general relativity is reviewed, highlighting the little-known, intriguing property that it can describe both an anisotropic cosmology and the spacetime deep within a black hole, these two descriptions linked by a reversal of the time-ordering of the solution. The flexible nature of solutions of Einstein's equations is emphasised, and a brief discussion of the arrow of time in modern physics is presented.
This paper analyzes the stability of the closed Einstein static universe by using linear homogeneous perturbations in the framework of energy-momentum squared gravity. This newly developed proposal resolves the primordial singularity and yields feasible cosmological results in the early times. For this purpose, we consider the closed Friedmann-Robertson-Walker universe with isotropic matter configuration and adopt small perturbations on the matter parameters and scale factor. Further, we establish equations of motion for static as well as perturbed systems and analyze the stable regions for pa…
We report a new symmetry of the Einstein-Friedmann equations for spatially flat Friedmann- Lemaître-Robertson-Walker universes. We discuss its application to barotropic perfect fluids and its use as a solution-generating technique for scalar field universes.
We study self-consistent static solutions for an Einstein universe in a graph-based induced gravity. In the generalization of the deconstruction model based on the graph, the eigenvalues of the graph Laplacian and the adjacent matrix gives the mass spectrum the particles. Thus we can easily control UV divergences at one-loop level in such a model. We use the calculation method with the spectrum distribution function of the graph and search for the static solution supported by the degenerate pressure of the fermion (at zero temperature). The report is based on arXiv:1110.5697.
By presenting a relation between average energy of the ensemble of probe photons and energy density of the Universe, in the context of {\it gravity's rainbow} or {\it doubly general relativity} scenario, we introduce a rainbow FRW Universe model. By analyzing the fixed points in flat FRW model modified by two well known rainbow functions, we find that the finite time singularity avoidance (i.e. Big-Bang) may still remain as a problem. Then, we follow the "Emergent Universe" scenario in which there is no beginning of time and consequently there is no Big-Bang singularity. Moreover, we study the…
In this work the accelerated-decelerated transition in a primordial Universe is investigated by using the dynamics of fermion fields within the context of Einstein-Cartan theory, where apart from the curvature the space-time is also described by a torsion field. The model analyzed here has only a fermion field as the source of the gravitational field. The term associated with the spin of the fermion field plays the role of the inflaton which contributes to an accelerated regime whereas the one related to the fermion mass behaves as a matter field and is the responsible for a decelerated regime…
An interpretation is suggested that a spontaneous compactification of space-time can be regarded as a topological defect in a higher-dimensional Einstein-Yang-Mills (EYM) theory. We start with $D$-dimensional EYM theory in our present analysis. A compactification leads to a $D-2$ dimensional effective action of Abelian gauge-Higgs theory. We find a "vortex" solution in the effective theory. Our universe appears to be confined in a center of a "vortex", which has $D-4$ large dimensions. In this paper we show an example with $SU(2)$ symmetry in the original EYM theory, and the resulting solution…
We propose the application of the chiral cosmological model (CCM) for the Einstein--Gauss--Bonnet (EGB) theory of gravitation with the aim of finding new models of the Emergent Universe (EmU) scenario. We analysed the EmU supported by two chiral cosmological fields for a spatially flat universe, while we have used three chiral fields when we investigated open and closed universes. To prove the validity of the EmU scenario we fixed the scale factor and found the exact solution by decomposition of EGB equations and solving the chiral field dynamics equation. To this end, we suggested the decompo…
The existence and stability of the Einstein static solution have been built in the Einstein-Cartan gravity. We show that this solution in the presence of perfect fluid with spin density satisfying the Weyssenhoff restriction is cyclically stable around a center equilibrium point. Thus, study of this solution is interesting because it supports non-singular emergent cosmological models in which the early universe oscillates indeterminately about an initial Einstein static solution and is thus past eternal.
We study self-consistent static solutions for an Einstein universe in a graph-based induced gravity. The one-loop quantum action is computed at finite temperature. In particular, we demonstrate specific results for the models based on cycle graphs.
We consider the existence and stability of the Einstein static universe under the Generalized Uncertainty Principle (GUP) effects. We show that this solution in the presence of perfect fluid with a minimal length is cyclically stable around a center equilibrium point. By taking linear homogeneous perturbations, we find that the scale factor of Einstein static universe for closed deformed isotropic and homogeneous FLRW universe depends on the GUP coupling parameter $α$. Thus, in the model by GUP effects, our universe can stay at the Einstein static state past-eternally, which means that the big…
Acceleration of the universe is obtained from a model of non-relativistic particles with a short-range attractive interaction, at low enough temperature to produce a Bose-Einstein condensate. Conditions are derived for negative-pressure behavior. In particular, we show that a phantom-accelerated regime at the beginning of the universe solves the horizon problem, consistently with nucleosynthesis.
We analyze the stability of the Einstein static universe by considering homogeneous perturbations in the context of f(G) modified Gauss-Bonnet theories of gravity. By considering a generic form of f(G), the stability region of the Einstein static universe is parameterized by the linear equation of state parameter w=p/rho and the second derivative f"(G) of the Gauss-Bonnet term.
The stability of an Einstein static universe in the DGP braneworld scenario is studied in this paper. Two separate branches denoted by $ε=\pm1$ of the DGP model are analyzed. Assuming the existence of a perfect fluid with a constant equation of state, $w$, in the universe, we find that, for the branch with $ε=1$, there is no a stable Einstein static solution, while, for the case with $ε=-1$, the Einstein static universe exists and it is stable when $-1<w<-1/3$. Thus, the universe can stay at this stable state past-eternally and may undergo a series of infinite, non-singular oscillations. There…
We analyze the stability of the Einstein static closed and open universe in two types of exponential $f(T)$ gravity theories. We show that the stable solutions exist in these two models. In particular, we find that large regions of parameter space in equation of state $w=p/ρ$ for the stable universe are allowed in the $f(T)$ theories.
We construct exact static inhomogeneous solutions to Einstein's equations with counter flow of particle fluid and a positive cosmological constant by using the Sasaki metrics on three-dimensional spaces. The solutions, which admit an arbitrary function that denotes inhomogeneous number density of particles, are a generalization of Einstein's static universe. On some examples of explicit solutions, we discuss non-linear density contrast and deviation of the metric functions.
A new Lagrangian framework has recently been proposed to describe interactions between relativistic perfect fluids and scalar fields. In this paper we investigate the Einstein static universe in this new class of theories, which have been named Scalar-Fluid theories. The stability of the static solutions to both homogeneous and inhomogeneous perturbations is analysed deriving the relevant cosmological perturbation equations at the linear order. We can find several configurations corresponding to an Einstein static universes which are stable against inhomogeneous perturbations, but unstable aga…
We shall in the framework of Bohmian quantum gravity show that it is possible to find a {\it pure} quantum state which leads to the static Einstein universe whose classical counterpart is flat space--time. We obtain the solution not only in the long--wavelength approximation but also exactly.
By rescaling the Gauss-Bonnet (GB) coupling constant $α\rightarrow α/(D-4)$ and considering the $D \rightarrow 4$ limit, the GB gravity gives rise to nontrivial modification of general relativity in four dimensions. In this work, we investigate the realization of the emergent universe scenario in the $4 D$ GB gravity. First, we obtain the Einstein static universe filled with a perfect fluid. Then, we show that both spatially closed and open universes can be stable against both homogeneous and inhomogeneous scalar perturbations simultaneously.
The staid subject of exact static spherically symmetric perfect fluid solutions of Einstein's equations has been reinvigorated in the last decade. We now have several solution generating techniques which give rise to new exact solutions. Here the Einstein static Universe is transformed into a physically acceptable solution the properties of which are examined in detail. The emphasis here is on the importance of the integration constants that these generating techniques introduce.
