In this paper, we consider Leibniz algebras with derivations. A pair consisting of a Leibniz algebra and a distinguished derivation is called a LeibDer pair. We define a cohomology theory for LeibDer pair with coefficients in a representation. We study central extensions and abelian extensions of a LeibDer pair. In the next, we generalize the formal deformation theory to LeibDer pairs in which we deform both the Leibniz bracket and the distinguished derivation. It is governed by the cohomology of LeibDer pair with coefficients in itself. Finally, we consider homotopy derivations on sh Leibniz algebras and $2$-derivations on Leibniz $2$-algebras. The category of $2$-term sh Leibniz algebras with homotopy derivations is equivalent to the category of Leibniz $2$-algebras with $2$-derivations.
The present paper is devoted to local and 2-local derivations and automorphism of complex finite-dimensional simple Leibniz algebras. We prove that all local derivations and 2-local derivations on a finite-dimensional complex simple Leibniz algebra are automatically derivations. We show that nilpotent Leibniz algebras as a rule admit local derivations and 2-local derivations which are not derivations. Further we consider automorphisms of simple Leibniz algebras. We prove that every 2-local automorphism on a complex finite-dimensional simple Leibniz algebra is an automorphism and show that nilp…
The present paper is devoted to the description of finite-dimensional semisimple Leibniz algebras over complex numbers, their derivations and automorphisms.
In the paper we describe derivations of some classes of Leibniz algebras. It is shown that any derivation of a simple Leibniz algebra can be written as a combination of three derivations. Two of these ingredients are a Lie algebra derivations and the third one can be explicitly described. Then we show that the similar description can found as well as for a subclass of semisimple Leibniz algebras.
We investigate almost inner derivations of some finite-dimensional nilpotent Leibniz algebras. We show the existence of almost inner derivations of Leibniz filiform non-Lie algebras differing from inner derivations, we also show that the almost inner derivations of some filiform Leibniz algebras containing filiform Lie algebras do not coincide with inner derivations.
We show that any local derivation on the solvable Leibniz algebras with model or abelian nilradicals, whose the dimension of complementary space is maximal is a derivation. We show that solvable Leibniz algebras with abelian nilradicals, which have 1-dimension complementary space, admit local derivations which are not derivations. Moreover, similar problem concerning 1-local derivations of such algebras are investigated and an example of solvable Leibniz algebra given such that any 2-local derivation on it is a derivation, but which admit local derivations which are not derivations.
W. A. Moens proved that a Lie algebra is nilpotent if and only if it admits an invertible Leibniz-derivation. In this paper we show that with the definition of Leibniz-derivation from W. A. Moens the similar result for non Lie Leibniz algebras is not true. Namely, we give an example of non nilpotent Leibniz algebra which admits an invertible Leibniz-derivation. In order to extend the results of paper W. A. Moens for Leibniz algebras we introduce a definition of Leibniz-derivation of Leibniz algebras which agrees with Leibniz-derivation of Lie algebras case. Further we prove that a Leibniz alge…
The present work is devoted to the extension of some general properties of automorphisms and derivations which are known for Lie algebras to finite dimensional complex Leibniz algebras. The analogues of the Jordan-Chevalley decomposition for derivations and the multiplicative decomposition for automorphisms of finite dimensional complex Leibniz algebras are obtained.
The main purpose of this paper is to obtain Leibniz's rule for generalized types of derivations via Newton's binomial formula. In fact, we provide a short formula to calculate the nth power of any kind of derivations.
In this paper we investigate pre-derivations of filiform Leibniz algebras. Recall that the set of filiform Leibniz algebras of fixed dimension can be decomposed into three non-intersected families. We describe the pre-derivation of filiform Leibniz algebras for the first and second families. We found sufficient conditions under which filiform Leibniz algebras are strongly nilpotent. Moreover, for the first and second families, we give the description of characteristically nilpotent algebras which are non-strongly nilpotent.
In this paper, we introduce the notion Lie-derivation. This concept generalizes derivations for non-Lie Leibniz algebras. We study these Lie-derivations in the case where their image is contained in the Lie-center, call them Lie-central derivations. We provide a characterization of Lie-stem Leibniz algebras by their Lie-central derivations, and prove several properties of the Lie algebra of Lie-central derivations for Lie-nilpotent Leibniz algebras of class 2. We also introduce ${\sf ID}_*-Lie$-derivations. A ${\sf ID}_*-Lie$-derivation of a Leibniz algebra G is a Lie-derivation of G in which …
Moens proved that a finite-dimensional Lie algebra over field of characteristic zero is nilpotent if and only if it has an invertible Leibniz-derivation. In this article we prove the analogous results for finite-dimensional Malcev, Jordan, (-1,1)-, quasiassociative, quasialternative, right alternative and Malcev-admissible noncommutative Jordan algebras over the field of characteristic zero. Also, we describe all Leibniz-derivations of semisimple Jordan, right alternative and Malcev algebras.
Jacobson proved that if a Lie algebra admits an invertible derivation, it must be nilpotent. He also suspected, though incorrectly, that the converse might be true: that every nilpotent Lie algebra has an invertible derivation. We prove that a Lie algebra is nilpotent if and only if it admits an invertible Leibniz-derivation. The proofs are elementary in nature and are based on well-known techniques.
Leibniz algebras are non-skewsymmetric analogue of Lie algebras. In this paper, we consider weighted relative Rota-Baxter operators on Leibniz algebras. We define cohomology of such operators and as an application, we study their deformations. Finally, we introduce and study post-Leibniz algebras as the structure behind weighted relative Rota-Baxter operators.
In this work $n$-dimensional filiform Leibniz algebras admitting a gradation of length $(n-1)$ are classified. Derivations of such algebras are also described.
Several recent results concerning Hom-Leibniz algebra are reviewed, the notion of symmetric Hom-Leibniz superalgebra is introduced and some properties are obtained. Classification of 2-dimensional Hom-Leibniz algebras is provided. Centroids and derivations of multiplicative Hom-Leibniz algebras are considered including the detailed study of 2-dimensional Hom-Leibniz algebras.
The notion of pre-Leibniz algebras was recently introduced in the study of Rota-Baxter operators on Leibniz algebras. In this paper, we first construct a graded Lie algebra whose Maurer-Cartan elements are pre-Leibniz algebras. Using this characterization, we define the cohomology of a pre-Leibniz algebra with coefficients in a representation. This cohomology is shown to split the Loday-Pirashvili cohomology of Leibniz algebras. As applications of our cohomology, we study formal and finite order deformations of a pre-Leibniz algebra. Finally, we define homotopy pre-Leibniz algebras and classif…
In the paper we describe the derivations of complex $n$-dimensional naturally graded filiform Leibniz algebras $NGF_1, NGF_2\ \text{and} \ \ NGF_3.$ We show that the dimension of the derivation algebras of $NGF_1$ and $NGF_2$ equals $n+1$ and $n+2,$ respectively, while the dimension of the derivation algebra of $NGF_3$ is equal to $2n-1.$ The second part of the paper deals with the description of the derivations of complex $n$-dimensional filiform non Lie Leibniz algebras, obtained from naturally graded non Lie filiform Leibniz algebras. It is well known that this class is split into two class…
We study some properties on $\mathsf{Lie}$-centroids related to central $\mathsf{Lie}$-derivations, generalized $\mathsf{Lie}$-derivations and almost inner $\mathsf{Lie}$-derivations. We also determine the $\mathsf{Lie}$-centroid of the tensor product of a commutative associative algebra and a Leibniz algebra.
Recently, relative Rota-Baxter (Lie/associative) algebras are extensively studied in the literature from cohomological points of view. In this paper, we consider relative Rota-Baxter Leibniz algebras (rRB Leibniz algebras) as the object of our study. We construct an $L_\infty$-algebra that characterizes rRB Leibniz algebras as its Maurer-Cartan elements. Then we define representations of an rRB Leibniz algebra and introduce cohomology with coefficients in a representation. As applications of cohomology, we study deformations and abelian extensions of rRB Leibniz algebras.
In this paper we prove some general results on Leibniz 2-cocycles for simple Leibniz algebras. Applying these results we establish the triviality of the second Leibniz cohomology for a simple Leibniz algebra with coefficients in itself, whose associated Lie algebra is isomorphic to $\mathfrak{sl}_2$.
In this paper, first we construct a Lie 2-algebra associated to every Leibniz algebra via the skew-symmetrization. Furthermore, we introduce the notion of the naive representation for a Leibniz algebra in order to realize the abstract operations as a concrete linear operation. At last, we study some properties of naive cohomologies.
In the present work the properties of Cartan subalgebras and their connection with regular elements in finite dimensional Lie algebras are extended to the case of Leibniz algebras. It is shown that Cartan subalgebras and regular elements of a Leibniz algebra correspond to Cartan subalgebras and regular elements of a Lie algebra by a natural homomorphism. Conjugacy of Cartan subalgebras of Leibniz algebras is shown.
The purpose of this paper is to study global deformations of Hom-Leibniz algebras. We introduce a cohomology for Hom-Leibniz algebras with values in a Hom-module, characterize versal deformations and provide examples.
The present paper is devoted to the investigation of properties of Cartan subalgebras and regular elements in Leibniz $n$-algebras. The relationship between Cartan subalgebras and regular elements of given Leibniz $n$-algebra and Cartan subalgebras and regular elements of the corresponding factor $n$-Lie algebra is established.
The first aim of this paper is to introduce and study symmetric (Bi)Hom-Leibniz algebras, which are left and right Leibniz algebras. We discuss $α^kβ^l$-generalized derivations, $α^kβ^l$ -quasi-derivations and $α^kβ^l$-quasi-centroid of (Bi)Hom-Leibniz algebras and colour BiHom-Leibniz algebras. The second aim is to define a new type of BiHom-Lie algebras satisfies the following hierarchy \begin{equation*} \displaystyle \{ \text{ BiHom-Lie type $B_1$} \}\supseteq_{β=id} \{ \text{ Hom-Lie} \}\supseteq_{α=id} \{ \text{ Lie} \}. \end{equation*} Moreover, define representations and a cohomology of…
An algebra is said to be a unary Leibniz algebra if every one-generated subalgebra is a Leibniz algebra. An algebra is said to be a binary Leibniz algebra if every two-generated subalgebra is a Leibniz algebra. We give characterizations of unary and binary Leibniz algebras in terms of identities.
The Leibniz algebras appeared as a generalization of the Lie algebras. In this work we deal with the classification of nilpotent complex Leibniz algebras of low dimensions. Namely, the classification of nilpotent complex Leibniz algebras dimensions less than 3 is extended to the dimension four. {\it AMS Subject Classifications}: 16D70, 17A30, 17A60, 17B30 {\it Key words:} Leibniz algebra, associative algebra, nilpotence, nulfiliform Leibniz algebra, filiform Leibniz algebra.
The paper studies the structure of restricted Leibniz algebras. More specifically speaking, we first give the equivalent definition of restricted Leibniz algebras, which is by far more tractable than that of a restricted Leibniz algebras in [6]. Second, we obtain some properties of $p$-mappings and restrictable Leibniz algebras, and discuss restricted Leibniz algebras with semisimple elements. Finally, Cartan decomposition and the uniqueness of decomposition for restricted Leibniz algebras are determined.
In this paper we introduce color Hom-Akivis algebras and prove that the commutator of any color non-associative Hom-algebra structure map leads to a color Hom-akivis algebra. We give various constructions of color Hom-Akivis algebras. Next we study flexible and alternative color Hom-Akivis algebras. Likewise color Hom-Akivis algebras, we introduce non-commutative color Hom-Leibniz-Poisson algebras and presente several constructions. Moreover we give the relationship between Hom-dialgebras and Hom-Leibniz-Poisson algebras; i.e. a Hom-dialgebras give rise to a Hom-Leibniz-Poisson algebra. Finall…
The purpose of this paper is to generalize some results on ternary Leibniz algebras to the case of ternary Leibniz color algebras. In particular, we study color Lie triple systems. In order to produce examples of ternary Leibniz color algebras from Leibniz color algebras, several results on Leibniz color algebras are given. Then we introduce and give some constructions of ternary Leibniz-Nambu-Poisson color algebras. The relationship between associative trialgebras and -1- tridendriform algebras are investigated. Moreover, we give some methods of constructing modules over ternary Leibniz-Nambu…
We extend conjugacy results from Lie algebras to their Leibniz algebra generalizations. The proofs in the Lie case depend on anti-commutativity. Thus it is necessary to find other paths in the Leibniz case. Some of these results involve Cartan subalgebras. Our results can be used to extend other results on Cartan subalgebras. We show an example here and others will be shown in future work.
Leibniz algebras are certain generalization of Lie algebras. It is natural to generalize concepts in Lie algebras to Leibniz algebras and investigate whether the corresponding results still hold. In this paper we introduce the notion of complete Leibniz algebras as generalization of complete Lie algebras. Then we study properties of complete Leibniz algebras and their holomorphs.
In this paper, we introduce twisted relative Rota-Baxter operators on a Leibniz algebra as a generalization of twisted Poisson structures. We define the cohomology of a twisted relative Rota-Baxter operator $K$ as the Loday-Pirashvili cohomology of a certain Leibniz algebra induced by $K$ with coefficients in a suitable representation. Then we consider formal deformations of twisted relative Rota-Baxter operators from cohomological points of view. Finally, we introduce and study NS-Leibniz algebras as the underlying structure of twisted relative Rota-Baxter operators.
In this paper we continue the description of solvable Leibniz algebras whose nilradical is a filiform algebra. In fact, solvable Leibniz algebras whose nilradical is a naturally graded filiform Leibniz algebra are described in \cite{Campo} and \cite{SolGFil}. Here we extend the description to solvable Leibniz algebras whose nilradical is a filiform algebra. We establish that solvable Leibniz algebras with filiform Lie nilradical are Lie algebras.
This paper concerns the algebraic structure of finite-dimensional complex Leibniz algebras. In particular, we introduce left central and symmetric Leibniz algebras, and study the poset of Lie subalgebras using an associative bilinear pairing taking values in the Leibniz kernel.
Leibniz algebras are certain generalization of Lie algebras. In this paper we survey the important results in Leibniz algebras which are analogs of corresponding results in Lie algebras. In particular we highlight the differences between Leibniz algebras and Lie algebras.
Some basic properties of Hom-Leibniz algebras are found. These properties are the Hom-analogue of corresponding well-known properties of Leibniz algebras. Considering the Hom-Akivis algebra associated to a given Hom-Leibniz algebra, it is observed that the Hom-Akivis identity leads to an additional property of Hom-Leibniz algebras, which in turn gives a necessary and sufficient condition for Hom-Lie admissibility of Hom-Leibniz algebras. A necessary and sufficient condition for Hom-power associativity of Hom-Leibniz algebras is also found.
In this paper we introduce the concept of $n$-Lie-isoclinism on non-Lie Leibniz algebras. Among the results obtained, we provide several characterizations of $n$-Lie-isoclinic classes of Leibniz algebras. Also, we provide a characterization of $n$-Lie-stem Leibniz algebras, and prove that every $n$-Lie-isoclinic class of Leibniz algebras contains a $n$-Lie-stem Leibniz algebra.
We initiate the study of $ξ$-groups and Hu-Liu Leibniz algebras, claim that alomost all simple Leibniz algebras and simple Hu-Liu Leibniz algebras are linear, and establish two passages. One is the passage from a special $\mathcal{Z}_2$-graded associative algebra to a Hu-Liu Leibniz algebra. The other one is the passage from a linear $ξ$-group to its tangent space which is a Hu-Liu Leibniz algebra.
The purpose of this paper is to study some Ternary color algebras. We generalize some results on ternary Leibniz algebras to the case of ternary Leibniz color algebras. In order to produce examples of ternary Leibniz color algebras from Leibniz color algebras, several results on Leibniz color algebras are given. Next, We introduce ternary Leibniz color algebras and give some constructions dealing with operators, direct sum and tensor product. After that, We introduce bimodule over ternary Leibniz color algebras and point out that the direct sum and the tensor product of two bimodules over a te…
We describe infinite-dimensional Leibniz algebras whose associated Lie algebra is the Witt algebra and we prove the triviality of low-dimensional Leibniz cohomology groups of the Witt algebra with the coefficients in itself.
In this paper we introduce the notion of existentially closed Leibniz algebras. Then we use HNN-extensions of Leibniz algebras in order to prove an embedding theorem.
We extend results related to maximal subalgebras and ideals from Lie to Leibniz algebras. In particular, we classify minimal non-elementary Leibniz algebras and Leibniz algebras with a unique maximal ideal. In both cases, there are types of these algebras with no Lie algebra analogue. We also give a classification of E-Leibniz algebras which is very similiar to its Lie algebra counterpart.
In this paper, we compare the abelian subalgebras and ideals of maximal dimension for finite-dimensional Leibniz algebras. We study Leibniz algebras containing abelian subalgebras of codimension 1, solvable and supersolvable Leibniz algebras for codimensions 1 and 2, nilpotent Leibniz algebras in case of codimension 2 and we also analyze the case of k-abelian p-filiform Leibniz algebras. Throughout the paper, we also give examples to clarify some results and the need for restrictions on the underlying field.
I describe the lattice of subalgebras of a one-generator Leibniz algebra. Using this, I show that, apart from one special case, a lattice isomorphism between Leibniz algebras L, L' maps the Leibniz kernel of L to that of L'.
Leibniz algebras are certain generalizations of Lie algebras. Motivated by the concept of subinvariance in group theory, Schenkman studied properties of subinvariant subalgebras of a Lie algebra. In this paper we define subinvariant subalgebras of Leibniz algebras and study their properties. It is shown that the signature results on subinvariance in Lie algebras have analogs for Leibniz algebras.
