A Hilbert space frame on $R^n$ is {\it scalable} if we can scale the vectors to make them a tight frame. There are known classifications of scalable frames. There are two basic questions here which have never been answered in any $R^n$:
Given a frame in $R^n$, how do we scale the vectors to minimize the condition number of the frame? I.e. How do we scale the frame to make it as tight as possible?
If we are only allowed to use scaling numbers from the interval $[1-ε,1+ε]$, how do we scale the frame to minimize the condition number?
We will answer these two questions in $R^2$ to begin the process towards a solution in $R^n$.

Controlled frames have been recently introduced in Hilbert spaces to improve the numerical efficiency of interactive algorithms for inverting the frame operator. In this paper, unlike the cross-Gram matrix of two different sequences which is not always a diagnostic tool, we define the controlled-Gram matrix of a sequence as a practical implement to diagnose that a given sequence is a controlled Bessel, frame or Riesz basis. Also, we discuss the cases that the operator associated to controlled Gram matrix will be bounded, invertible, Hilbert-Schmidt or a trace-class operator. Similar to standar…
In this note, following the complex theory, we examine discrete controlled frames, discrete weighted frames and frame multipliers in a non-commutative setting, namely in a left quaternionic Hilbert space. In particular, we show that the controlled frames are equivalent to usual frames under certain conditions. We also study connection between frame multipliers and weighted frames in the same Hilbert space.
In this paper we examine the general theory of continuous frame multipliers in Hilbert space. These operators are a generalization of the widely used notion of (discrete) frame multipliers. Well-known examples include Anti-Wick operators, STFT multipliers or Calderón- Toeplitz operators. Due to the possible peculiarities of the underlying measure spaces, continuous frames do not behave quite as well as their discrete counterparts. Nonetheless, many results similar to the discrete case are proven for continuous frame multipliers as well, for instance compactness and Schatten class properties. F…

We characterize the frames on an infinite dimensional separable Hilbert space that can be projected to a tight frame for an infinite dimensional subspace. A result of Casazza and Leon states that an arbitrary frame for a 2N- or (2N-1)-dimensional Hilbert space can be projected to a tight frame for an N-dimensional subspace. Surprisingly, we demonstrate a large class of frames for infinite dimensional Hilbert spaces which cannot be projected to a tight frame for any infinite dimensional subspace.

Frames in a separable quaternionic Hilbert space were introduced and studied in [17] to have more applications. In this paper, we extend the study of frames in quaternionic Hilbert spaces and introduce different types of duals of a frame in separable quaternionic Hilbert spaces. As an application, we give the orthogonal projection of $\ell^2(\HH)$ onto the range of analysis operator of the given frame, in terms of elements of canonical dual frame and elements of the frame in quaternionic Hilbert space. Finally, we give an expression for the orthogonal projection in terms of operators related t…

We first present some characterizations of HS-frames and prove that HS-frames share many important properties with frames. Then, we show how the inverse of the HS-frame operator can be approximated using finite-dimensional methods. Finally, we present a classical perturbation result and prove that HS-frames are stable under small perturbations.

Various proofs are given for some results. Also, we prove some new results. Moreover, non-trivial examples are presented.
We develope a local theory for frames on finite dimensional Hilbert spaces. In particular, a bounded frame on a finite dimensional Hilbert space contains a subset which is a good Riesz basis for a percentage (arbitrarily close to one) of the space. We also construct a normalized frame for a Hilbert space which contains a subset which is a Schauder basis for H but does not contain any subset which is a Riesz basis for H.
After introducing g-frames and fusion frames by Sun and Casazza, combining these frames together is an interesting topic for research. In this paper, we introduce the generalized fusion frames or g-fusion frames for Hilbert spaces and give characterizations of these frames from the viewpoint of closed range and g-fusion frame sequences. Also, the canonical dual g-fusion frames are presented and we introduce Parseval g-fusion frames.
This is a short introduction to Hilbert space frame theory and its applications for those outside the area who want to enter the subject. We will emphasize finite frame theory since it is the easiest way to get into the subject.
In this paper, we focus on frames of operators or K-frames on Hilbert spaces in Parseval cases. Since equal-norm tight frames play important roles for robust data transmission, we aim to study this topics on Parseval K-frames. We will show that each finite set of equal-norms of vectors can be extended to an equal-norm K-frame. Also, we present a correspondence between Parseval K-frames and the set of all closed subspaces of a finite Hilbert space. Finally, a construction of equal-norm dual K-frames will be introduced.
Naimark complements for Hilbert space Parseval frames are one of the most fundamental and useful results in the field of frame theory. We will show that actually all Hilbert space frames have Naimark complements which possess all the usual properties for Naimark complements with one notable exception. So these complements can be used for equiangular frames, RIP property, fusion frames etc. Along the way, we will correct a mistake in a recent fusion frame paper where chordal distances for Naimark complements are computed incorrectly.
