A Hilbert space frame on $R^n$ is {\it scalable} if we can scale the vectors to make them a tight frame. There are known classifications of scalable frames. There are two basic questions here which have never been answered in any $R^n$: Given a frame in $R^n$, how do we scale the vectors to minimize the condition number of the frame? I.e. How do we scale the frame to make it as tight as possible? If we are only allowed to use scaling numbers from the interval $[1-ε,1+ε]$, how do we scale the frame to minimize the condition number? We will answer these two questions in $R^2$ to begin the proces…

The concept of operator frame can be considered as a generalization of frame. Controlled frames have been recently introduced in Hilbert spaces to improve the numerical efficiency of interactive algorithms for inverting the frame operator. In this paper, unlike the cross-Gram matrix of two different sequences which is not always a diagnostic tool, we define the controlled-Gram matrix of a sequence as a practical implement to diagnose that a given sequence is a controlled Bessel, frame or Riesz basis. Also, we discuss the cases that the operator associated to controlled Gram matrix will be bounded, invertible, Hilbert-Schmidt or a trace-class operator. Similar to standar…
We show that no faithful functor from the category of Hilbert spaces with linear isometries into the category of sets preserves directed colimits. Thus Hilbert spaces cannot form an abstract elementary class, even up to change of language. We deduce an analogous result for the category of commutative unital $C^\ast$-algebras with $\ast$-homomorphisms. This implies, in particular, that this category is not axiomatizable by a first-order theory, a strengthening of a conjecture of Bankston.
An operator $T$ acting on a Hilbert space is called $(α,β)$-normal ($0\leq α\leq 1\leq β$) if \begin{equation*} α^{2}T^{\ast }T\leq TT^{\ast}\leq β^{2}T^{\ast}T. \end{equation*} In this paper we establish various inequalities between the operator norm and its numerical radius of $(α,β)$-normal operators in Hilbert spaces. For this purpose, we employ some classical inequalities for vectors in inner product spaces.
In this note, following the complex theory, we examine discrete controlled frames, discrete weighted frames and frame multipliers in a non-commutative setting, namely in a left quaternionic Hilbert space. In particular, we show that the controlled frames are equivalent to usual frames under certain conditions. We also study connection between frame multipliers and weighted frames in the same Hilbert space.
We associate to an operator valued completely positive linear map $φ$ on a $C^{\ast }$-algebra $A$ and a Hilbert $C^{\ast }$-module $X$ over $A$ a subset $X_{φ}$ of $X,$ called '\textit{ternary domain}' of $φ$ on $X,$ which is a Hilbert $C^{\ast }$-module over the multiplicative domain of $φ$ and every $φ$-map (i.e., associated quaternary map with $φ$) acts on it as a ternary map. We also provide several characterizations for this set. The ternary domain \ of $φ$ on $A\ $ is a closed two-sided $\ast $-ideal $T_{φ}$ of the multiplicative domain of $φ$. We show that $XT_{φ}=X_{φ}$ and give sever…
In this work, we introduce a new concept of integral $K$-operator frame for the set of all adjointable operators from Hilbert $C^{\ast}$-modules $\mathcal{H}$ to it self noted $End_{\mathcal{A}}^{\ast}(\mathcal{H}) $. In this paper we examine the general theory of continuous frame multipliers in Hilbert space. These operators are a generalization of the widely used notion of (discrete) frame multipliers. Well-known examples include Anti-Wick operators, STFT multipliers or Calderón- Toeplitz operators. Due to the possible peculiarities of the underlying measure spaces, continuous frames do not behave quite as well as their discrete counterparts. Nonetheless, many results similar to the discrete case are proven for continuous frame multipliers as well, for instance compactness and Schatten class properties. F…
In this paper, we formulate and prove a version of the Stone-von Neumann Theorem for every $ C^{\ast} $-dynamical system of the form $ (G,\mathbb{K}(\mathcal{H}),α) $, where $ G $ is a locally compact Hausdorff abelian group and $ \mathcal{H} $ is a Hilbert space. The novelty of our work stems from our representation of the Weyl Commutation Relation on Hilbert $ \mathbb{K}(\mathcal{H}) $-modules instead of just Hilbert spaces, and our introduction of two additional commutation relations, which are necessary to obtain a uniqueness theorem. Along the way, we apply one of our basic results on Hil…
