We study a tumor growth model in two space dimensions, where proliferation of the tumor cells leads to expansion of the tumor domain and migration of surrounding normal tissues into the exterior vacuum. The model features two moving interfaces separating the tumor, the normal tissue, and the exterior vacuum. We prove local-in-time existence and uniqueness of strong solutions for their evolution starting from a nearly radial initial configuration. It is assumed that the tumor has lower mobility than the normal tissue, which is in line with the well-known Saffman-Taylor condition in viscous fingering.
In this paper, we study a tumor growth model with nutrients. The contact inhibition for the tumor cells, presented in the model, results in the evolution of a congested tumor patch. We study the regularity of the tumor patch as the nutrients' diffusion strength $D$ diminishes. In particular, we show that for small $D>0$ the boundary of the tumor patch stays in a small neighborhood of the smooth tumor patch boundary obtained with $D=0$, uniformly with respect to the Hausdorff distance.

In this contribution, the non-local, integro-partial differential system of equations proposed by Hillen et al. (Bull. Math. Biol. 75, 2013, no.1, 161-184) to account for the the tumor growth paradox (or the observation that some incomplete cancer treatments may enhance tumor growth) is reviewed. In this paper we study a tumor growth model with nutrients. The model presents dynamic patch solutions due to the contact inhibition among the tumor cells. We show that when the nutrients do not diffuse and the cells do not die, the tumor density exhibits regularizing dynamics. In particular, we provide contraction estimates, exponential rate of asymptotic convergence, and boundary regularity of the tumor patch. These results are in sharp contrast to the models either with nutrient diffusion or with death rate in tumor cells.
We consider the asymptotic limit of a diffuse interface model for tumor-growth when a parameter $\varepsilon$ proportional to the thickness of the diffuse interface goes to zero. An approximate solution which shows explicitly the behavior of the true solution for small $\varepsilon$ will be constructed by using matched expansion method. Based on the energy method, a spectral condition in particular, we establish a smallness estimate of the difference between the approximate solution and the true solution.
We study a model introduced by Perthame and Vauchelet that describes the growth of a tumor governed by Brinkman's Law, which takes into account friction between the tumor cells. We adopt the viscosity solution approach to establish an optimal uniform convergence result of the tumor density as well as the pressure in the incompressible limit. The system lacks standard maximum principle, and thus modification of the usual approach is necessary.
We consider the problem of the long time dynamics for a diffuse interface model for tumor growth. The model describes the growth of a tumor surrounded by host tissues in the presence of a nutrient and consists in a Cahn-Hilliard-type equation for the tumor phase coupled with a reaction-diffusion equation for the nutrient concentration. We prove that, under physically motivated assumptions on parameters and data, the corresponding initial-boundary value problem generates a dissipative dynamical system that admits the global attractor in a proper phase space.
The present paper deals with a free boundary problem modeling the growth process of necrotic multi-layer tumors. We prove the existence of flat stationary solutions and determine the linearization of our model at such an equilibrium. This paper is concerned with a multi-dimensional free boundary problem modeling the growth of a tumor with two species of cells: proliferating cells and quiescent cells. This free boundary problem has a unique radial stationary solution. By using the Fourier expansion of functions on unit sphere via spherical harmonics, we establish some decay estimates for the solution of the linearized system of this tumor model at the radial stationary solution, so that proving that the radial stationary solution is linearly asymptotically stable when neglecting translations.
In this paper, we conduct a thorough mathematical analysis of a tumor growth model with treatments. The model is a system describing the evolution of metastatic tumors and the number of cells present in a primary tumor. The former evolution is described by a linear transport equation and the latter by an ordinary differential equation of Gompertzian type. We analyze a system of cross-diffusion equations that models the growth of an avascular-tumor spheroid. The model incorporates two nonlinear diffusion effects, degeneracy type and super diffusion. We prove the global existence of weak solutions and justify the convergence towards the free boundary problem of the Hele-Shaw type when the pressure gets stiff. We also investigate the convergence rate of the solutions in $L^1-$Lebesgue spaces.
In this paper we study a model describing the growth of necrotic tumors in different regimes of vascularisation. The tumor consists of a necrotic core of death cells and a surrounding nonnecrotic shell. Several mathematical models of tumor growth are now commonly used to explain medical observations and predict cancer evolution based on images. These models incorporate mechanical laws for tissue compression combined with rules for nutrients availability which can differ depending on the situation under consideration, in vivo or in vitro. Numerical solutions exhibit, as expected from medical observations, a proliferative rim and a necrotic core. However, their precise profiles are rather complex, both in one and two dimensions.

This paper concerns a free boundary problem modeling tumor growth with angiogenesis and two time delays. The two delays represent the time taken for cells to undergo mitosis and modify the rate of cell loss because of apoptosis, respectively. We study the stability of stationary solutions and find that Hopf bifurcation occurs under some conditions, which extends the results of Xu.
