The Tsallis $q$-exponential function $e_q(x) = (1+(1-q)x)^{\frac{1}{1-q}}$ is found to be associated with the deformed oscillator defined by the relations $\left[N,a^\dagger\right] = a^\dagger$, $[N,a] = -a$, and $\left[a,a^\dagger\right] = ϕ_T(N+1)-ϕ_T(N)$, with $ϕ_T(N) = N/(1+(q-1)(N-1))$. In a Bargmann-like representation of this deformed oscillator the annihilation operator $a$ corresponds to a deformed derivative with the Tsallis $q$-exponential functions as its eigenfunctions, and the Tsallis $q$-exponential functions become the coherent states of the deformed oscillator. When $q = 2$ these deformed oscillator coherent states correspond to states known variously as phase coherent states, harmonious states, or pseudothermal states. Further, when $q = 1$ this deformed oscillator is a canonical boson oscillator, when $1 < q < 2$ its ground state energy is same as for a boson and the excited energy levels lie in a band of finite width, and when $q \longrightarrow 2$ it becomes a two-level system with a nondegenerate ground state and an infinitely degenerate excited state.
Motivated by the group entropy theory, in this work we generalize the algebra of real numbers (that we called G-algebra), from which we develop an associated G-differential calculus. Thus, the algebraic structures corresponding to the Tsallis and Kappa statistics are obtained as special cases when the Tsallis and Kappa group classes are chosen. We employ the G-algebra to formulate a generalized G-deformed Schrödinger equation and we illustrate it with the infinite potential well, where the effective mass is related with the G-algebra structure and the $q$-deformed (standard) Schrödinger equati…
We develop variational representations for the deformed logarithmic and exponential functions and use them to obtain variational representations related to the quantum Tsallis relative entropy. We extend Golden-Thompson's trace inequality to deformed exponentials with deformation parameter $ q\in[0,1], $ thus complementing the second author's previous study of the cases with deformation parameter $ q \in [1,2] $ or $ q \in [2,3]. $
In [Arch. Math. 7, 28 (1956), Utilitas Math. 15, 51 (1979)] Carlitz introduced the degenerate Bernoulli numbers and polynomials by replacing the exponential factors in the corresponding classical generating functions with their deformed analogs: $\exp(t) \rightarrow (1+λt)^{1/λ}$, and $\exp(tx) \rightarrow (1+λt)^{x/λ}$. The deformed exponentials reduce to their ordinary counterparts in the $λ\rightarrow 0$ limit. In the present work we study the extension of the Bernoulli polynomials obtained via an alternate deformation $\exp(tx) \rightarrow (1+λtx)^{1/λ}$ that is inspired by the concepts of…
We study convexity or concavity of certain trace functions for the deformed logarithmic and exponential functions, and obtain in this way new trace inequalities for deformed exponentials that may be considered as generalizations of Peierls-Bogolyubov's inequality. We use these results to improve previously known lower bounds for the Tsallis relative entropy.
A new deformed canonical commutation relation, generalizing various known deformations, is defined together with its structure function of deformation. Then, the related irreducible representations are characterized and classified. Finally, the discrete spectrum of the corresponding deformed harmonic oscillator Hamiltonian is investigated and discussed.
The idea that a system obeying interpolating statistics can be described by a deformed oscillator algebra has been an outstanding issue. This original concept introduced long ago by Greenberg is the motivation for this investigation. We establish that a q-deformed algebra can be used to describe the statistics of particles (anyons) interpolating continuously between Bose and Fermi statistics, i.e., fractional statistics. We show that the generalized intermediate statistics splits into the Boson-like and Fermion-like regimes, each described by a unique oscillator algebra. The B-anyon thermostat…
The polynomial algebra is a deformed SU(2) algebra. Here, we use polynomial algebra as a method to solve a series of deformed oscillators. Meanwhile, we find a series of physics systems corresponding with polynomial algebra with different maximal order.
Fractional supersymmetric quantum mechanics of order $λ$ is realized in terms of the generators of a generalized deformed oscillator algebra and a Z$_λ$-grading structure is imposed on the Fock space of the latter. This realization is shown to be fully reducible with the irreducible components providing $λ$ sets of minimally bosonized operators corresponding to both unbroken and broken cases. It also furnishes some examples of Z$_λ$-graded uniform topological symmetry of type (1, 1, ..., 1) with topological invariants generalizing the Witten index.
Starting from a faithful five-dimensional matrix representation of the group of two independent oscillators and applying the R-matrix method we generate some classes of deformed fermionic-bosonic quantum Hopf algebras. The corresponding Lie deformed superalgebras of type I--II, obtained by duality, are computed and a realization of generators of these deformed superalgebras are given in terms of the usual fermionic and bosonic creation and annihilation operators associated to the supersymmetric harmonic oscillator. Then, a generalized deformed annihilator is construted and their eigenstates ar…
We transform the oscillator algebra with kappa-deformed multiplication rule, proposed in [1],[2], into the oscillator algebra with kappa-deformed flip operator and standard multiplication. We recall that the kappa-multiplication of the kappa-oscillators puts them off-shell. We study the explicit forms of modified mass-shell conditions in both formulations: with kappa-multiplication and with kappa-flip operation. On the example of kappa-deformed 2-particle states we study the clustered nonfactorizable form of the kappa-deformed multiparticle states. We argue that the kappa-deformed star product…
It was found in [Europhysics Letters {\bf 104}, (2013), 60003] that classical Tsallis theory exhibits poles in the partition function ${\cal Z}$ and the mean energy $<{\cal U}>$. These occur at a countably set of the q-line. We give here, via a simple procedure, a mathematical account of them. Further, by focusing attention upon the pole-physics, we encounter interesting effects. In particular, for the specific heat, we uncover hidden gravitational effects.
A non-Hermitian generalized oscillator model, generally known as the Swanson model, has been studied in the framework of R-deformed Heisenberg algebra. The non-Hermitian Hamiltonian is diagonalized by generalized Bogoliubov transformation. A set of deformed creation annihilation operators is introduced whose algebra shows that the transformed Hamiltonian has conformal symmetry. The spectrum is obtained using algebraic technique. The superconformal structure of the system is also worked out in detail. An anomaly related to the spectrum of the Hermitian counterpart of the non-Hermitian Hamiltoni…
For the two-parameter $p,q$-deformed Heisenberg algebra introduced recently and in which, instead of usual commutator of $X$ and $P$ in the l.h.s. of basic relation $[X,P] = {\rm i}\hbar$, one uses the $p,q$-commutator, we established interesting properties. Most important is the realizability of the $p,q$-deformed Heisenberg algebra by means of the appropriate deformed oscillator algebra. Another uncovered property is special extension of the usual mutual Hermitian conjugation of the creation and annihilation operators, namely the so-called $η(N)$-pseudo-Hermitian conjugation rule, along with…
We define a generalized $(q;α,β,γ;ν)$-deformed oscillator algebra and study the number of its characteristics. We describe the structure function of deformation, analyze the classification of irreducible representations and discuss the asymptotic spectrum behaviour of the Hamiltonian. For a special choice of the deformation parameters we construct the deformed oscillator with discrete spectrum of its "quantized coordinate" operator. We establish its connection with the (generalized) discrete Hermite I polynomials.
In the world of generalized entropies---which, for example, play a role in physical systems with sub- and super-exponential phasespace growth per degree of freedom---there are two ways for implementing constraints in the maximum entropy principle: linear- and escort constraints. Both appear naturally in different contexts. Linear constraints appear e.g. in physical systems, when additional information about the system is available through higher moments. Escort distributions appear naturally in the context of multifractals and information geometry. It was shown recently that there exists a fun…
The $D$-dimensional $(β, β')$-two-parameter deformed algebra introduced by Kempf is generalized to a Lorentz-covariant algebra describing a ($D+1$)-dimensional quantized space-time. In the D=3 and $β=0$ case, the latter reproduces Snyder algebra. The deformed Poincaré transformations leaving the algebra invariant are identified. It is shown that there exists a nonzero minimal uncertainty in position (minimal length). The Dirac oscillator in a 1+1-dimensional space-time described by such an algebra is studied in the case where $β'=0$. Extending supersymmetric quantum mechanical and shape-invari…
A wide class of q-deformed harmonic oscillators including those of Macfarlane type and of Dubna type is shown to be describable in a unified way. The Hamiltonian of the oscillator is assumed to be given by a q-deformed anti-commutator of the q-deformed ladder operators. By solving $q$-difference equations, explicit coordinate representations of ladder operators and wave functions are derived, and unified parametric representations are found for $q$-Hermite functions and related formulas for the oscillators of Macfarlane and Dubna types. In addition to the well-known solutions with globally per…
The aim of this paper is to study generalized q-analogs of the well-known q-deformed harmonic oscillators and to connect them with q-Hermite polynomials. We give a construction of the appropriate oscillator-like algebras and show that corresponding Hermite polynomials are generalization of the discrete q-Hermite I and the discrete q-Hermite II polynomials. We also construct generalized coherent states of Barut-Girardello type for oscillator-like systems connected with these polynomials.
We discuss the construction of oscillator-like systems associated with orthogonal polynomials on the example of the Fibonacci oscillator. In addition, we consider the dimension of the corresponding lie algebras.
The Liouville equation for the q-deformed 1-D classical harmonic oscillator is derived for two definitions of q-deformation. This derivation is achieved by using two different representations for the q-deformed Hamiltonian of this oscillator corresponding to undeformed and deformed phase spaces. The resulting Liouville equation is solved by using the method of characteristics in order to obtain the classical probability distribution function for this system. The 2-D and 3-D behaviors of this function are then investigated using a computer visualization method. The results are compared with tho…
In this paper, we present an explicit realization of q-deformed Calogero-Vasiliev algebra whose generators are first-order q-difference operators related to the generalized discrete q-Hermite II polynomials recently introduced in [13]. Furthermore, we construct the wave functions and we determine the q-coherent states.
The aim of this paper is to review our results on description of the multi-parameter deformed oscillators and their oscillator algebras. We define generalized (q;α,β,γ;ν)-deformed oscillator algebra and study its irreducible representations. The Arik-Coon oscillator with the main relation aa^+ - q a^+a = 1, where q > 1 is embedded in this framework. We find connection of this oscillator with the Askey (1/q)-Hermite polynomials. We construct family of the generalized coherent states associated with these polynomials and give their explicit expression in terms of standard special functions. By m…
In this paper, we propose a full characterization of a generalized $q-$deformed Tamm-Dancoff oscillator algebra and investigate its main mathematical and physical properties. Specifically, we study its various representations and find the condition satisfied by the deformed $q-$number to define the algebra structure function. Particular Fock spaces involving finite and infinite dimensions are examined. A deformed calculus is performed as well as a coordinate realization for this algebra. A relevant example is exhibited. Associated coherent states are constructed. Finally, some thermodynamics a…
The quantum oscillator and Kepler-Coulomb problems in $d$-dimensional spaces with constant curvature are analyzed from several viewpoints. In a deformed supersymmetric framework, the corresponding nonlinear potentials are shown to exhibit a deformed shape invariance property. By using the point canonical transformation method, the two deformed Schrödinger equations are mapped onto conventional ones corresponding to some shape-invariant potentials, whose rational extensions are well known. The inverse point canonical transformations then provide some rational extensions of the oscillator and Ke…
The coherent states for twist-deformed oscillator model provided in article [1] are constructed. Besides, it is demonstrated that the energy spectrum of considered model is labeled by two quantum numbers - by so-called main and azimutal quantum numbers respectively.
q-Deformed harmonic oscillator algebra for real and root of unity values of the deformation parameter is discussed by using an extension of the number concept proposed by Gauss, namely the Q-numbers. A study of the reducibility of the Fock space representation which explores the properties of the Gauss polynomials is presented. When the deformation parameter is a root of unity, an interesting result comes out in the form of a reducibility scheme for the space representation which is based on the classification of the primitive or non-primitive character of the deformation parameter. An applica…
The Lie algebra $\mathfrak{su}(1,1)$ can be deformed by a reflection operator, in such a way that the positive discrete series representations of $\mathfrak{su}(1,1)$ can be extended to representations of this deformed algebra $\mathfrak{su}(1,1)_γ$. Just as the positive discrete series representations of $\mathfrak{su}(1,1)$ can be used to model a quantum oscillator with Meixner-Pollaczek polynomials as wave functions, the corresponding representations of $\mathfrak{su}(1,1)_γ$ can be utilized to construct models of a quantum oscillator. In this case, the wave functions are expressed in terms…
We give explicit analytical expressions for the partition function of $U(N)_{k}\times U(N+M)_{-k}$ ABJ theory at weak coupling ($k\rightarrow \infty )$ for finite and arbitrary values of $N$ and $M$ (including the ABJM case and its mass-deformed generalization). We obtain the expressions by identifying the one-matrix model formulation with a Meixner-Pollaczek ensemble and using the corresponding orthogonal polynomials, which are also eigenfunctions of a $su(1,1)$ quantum oscillator. Wilson loops in mass-deformed ABJM are also studied in the same limit and interpreted in terms of $su(1,1)$ cohe…
We demonstrate that dynamical noncommutative space-time will give rise to deformed oscillator algebras. In turn, starting from some q-deformations of these algebras in a two dimensional space for which the entire deformed Fock space can be constructed explicitly, we derive the commutation relations for the dynamical variables in noncommutative space-time. We compute minimal areas resulting from these relations, i.e. finitely extended regions for which it is impossible to resolve any substructure in form of measurable knowledge. The size of the regions we find is determined by the noncommutativ…
The concept of quasi-bosons or composite bosons (like mesons, excitons etc.) has a wide range of potential physical applications. Even composed of two pure fermions, the quasi-boson creation and annihilation operators satisfy non-standard commutation relations. It is natural to try to realize the quasi-boson operators by the operators of deformed (nonlinear) oscillator, the latter constituting widely studied field of modern quantum physics. In this paper, it is proved that the deformed oscillators which realize quasi-boson operators in a consistent way really exist. The conditions for such rea…
A family of multi-parameter, polynomially deformed oscillators (PDOs) given by polynomial structure function ϕ(n) is studied from the viewpoint of being (or not) in the class of Fibonacci oscillators. These obey the Fibonacci relation/property (FR/FP) meaning that the n-th level energy E_n is given linearly, with real coefficients, by the two preceding ones E_{n-1}, E_{n-2}. We first prove that the PDOs do not fall in the Fibonacci class. Then, three different paths of generalizing the usual FP are developed for these oscillators: we prove that the PDOs satisfy respective k-term generalized Fi…
We present the most general polynomial Lie algebra generated by a second order integral of motion and one of order M, construct the Casimir operator, and show how the Jacobi identity provides the existence of a realization in terms of deformed oscillator algebra. We also present the classical analog of this construction for the most general Polynomial Poisson algebra. Two specific classes of such polynomial algebras are discussed that include the symmetry algebras observed for various 2D superintegrable systems.
Within the framework of supersymmetric quantum mechanics, we study the simplified version of potential algebra of shape invariance condition in k steps, where k is an arbitrary positive integer. The associated potential algebra is found to be equivalent to the generalized deformed oscillator algebra that has a built-in Z_k-grading structure. The algebraic realization of shape invariance condition in k steps is therefore formulated by the method of Z_k-graded deformed oscillator. Based on this formulation, we explicitly construct the general algebraic properties for shape invariant potentials i…
We associate with each simple Lie algebra a system of second-order differential equations invariant under a non-compact real form of the corresponding Lie group. In the limit of a contraction to a Schrödinger algebra, these equations reduce to a system of ordinary harmonic oscillators. We provide two clarifying examples of such deformed oscillators: one system invariant under SO(2,3) transformations, and another system featuring $G_{2(2)}$ symmetry. The construction of invariant actions requires adding semi-dynamical degrees of freedom; we illustrate the algorithm with the two examples mention…
A scheme is proposed which allows to obtain special $q$-oscillator models whose characteristic feature consists in possessing two differing pairs of degenerate energy levels. The method uses the model of two-parameter deformed $q,p$-oscillators and proceeds via appropriately chosen particular relation between $p$ and $q$. Different versions of quadratic relations $p=f(q)$ are utilized for the case which implies two degenerate pairs $E_1=E_2$ and $E_3=E_4$. On the other hand, using one fixed quadratic relation, we obtain $p$-oscillators with other cases of two pairs of (pairwise) degenerate ene…
We point out a misleading treatment in a recent paper published in this Journal [Eur. Phys. J. C (2018)78:106] regarding solutions for the Schrödinger equation with a anharmonic oscillator potential embedded in the background of a cosmic string mapped into biconfluent Heun equation. This fact jeopardizes the thermodynamical properties calculated in this system.
We analyze systematically several deformations arising from two-dimensional harmonic oscillators which can be described in terms of $\cal{D}$-pseudo bosons. They all give rise to exactly solvable models, described by non self-adjoint hamiltonians whose eigenvalues and eigenvectors can be found adopting the quite general framework of the so-called $\cal{D}$-pseudo bosons. In particular, we show that several models previously introduced in the literature perfectly fit into this scheme.
In this paper, the algebras, representations, and thermostatistics of four types of fermionic q-oscillator models, called fermionic Newton (FN), Chaichian-Kulish-Ng (CKN), Parthasarathy-Viswanathan-Chaichian (PVC), Viswanathan-Parthasarathy-Jagannathan-Chaichian (VPJC), are discussed. Similarities and differences among the properties of these models are revealed. Particular emphasis is given to the VPJC-oscillators model so that its Fock space representation is analyzed in detail. Possible physical applications of these models are concisely pointed out.
Over the recent decades, diverse formalisms have emerged that are adopted to approach complex systems. Amongst those, we may quote the q-calculus in Tsallis' version of Non-Extensive Statistics with its undeniable success whenever applied to a wide class of different systems; Kaniadakis' approach, based on the compatibility between relativity and thermodynamics; Fractional Calculus (FC), that deals with the dynamics of anomalous transport and other natural phenomena, and also some local versions of FC that claim to be able to study fractal and multifractal spaces and to describe dynamics in th…
We briefly review some recent results concerning algebraical (oscillator) aspects of the $N$-body single-species and multispecies Calogero models in one dimension. We show how these models emerge from the matrix generalization of the harmonic oscillator Hamiltonian. We make some comments on the solvability of these models.
For a q-deformed harmonic oscillator, we find explicit coordinate representations of the creation and annihilation operators, eigenfunctions, and coherent states (the last being defined as eigenstates of the annihilation operator). We calculate the product of the coordinate momentum uncertainties in qoscillator eigenstates and in coherent states. For the oscillator, this product is minimum in the ground state and equals 1/2, as in the standard quantum mechanics. For coherent states, the $q$-deformation results in a violation of the standard uncertainty relation; the product of the coordinate- …
We show that the crossing symmetric dispersion relation (CSDR) for 2-2 scattering leads to a fascinating connection with knot polynomials and q-deformed algebras. In particular, the dispersive kernel can be identified naturally in terms of the generating function for the Alexander polynomials corresponding to the torus knot $(2,2n+1)$ arising in knot theory. Certain linear combinations of the low energy expansion coefficients of the amplitude can be bounded in terms of knot invariants. Pion S-matrix bootstrap data respects the analytic bounds so obtained. We correlate the $q$-deformed harmonic…
Composite bosons, here called {\it quasibosons} (e.g. mesons, excitons, etc.), occur in various physical situations. Quasibosons differ from bosons or fermions as their creation and annihilation operators obey non-standard commutation relations, even for the "fermion+fermion" composites. Our aim is to realize the operator algebra of quasibosons composed of two fermions or two q-fermions (q-deformed fermions) by the respective operators of deformed oscillators, the widely studied objects. For this, the restrictions on quasiboson creation/annihilation operators and on the deformed oscillator (de…
The representation theory of the generalized deformed oscillator algebras (GDOA's) is developed. GDOA's are generated by the four operators ${1,a,a^†,N}$. Their commutators and Hermiticity properties are those of the boson oscillator algebra, except for $[a, a^†]_q = G(N)$, where $[a,b]_q = a b - q b a$ and $G(N)$ is a Hermitian, analytic function. The unitary irreductible representations are obtained by means of a Casimir operator $C$ and the semi-positive operator $a^† a$. They may belong to one out of four classes: bounded from below (BFB), bounded from above (BFA), finite-dimentional (FD),…
We derive and spell out the structure constants of the $\mathbb{Z}_2$-graded algebra $\mathfrak{shs}[λ]\,$ by using deformed-oscillators techniques in $Aq(2;ν)\,$, the universal enveloping algebra of the Wigner-deformed Heisenberg algebra in 2 dimensions. The use of Weyl ordering of the deformed oscillators is made throughout the paper, via the symbols of the operators and the corresponding associative, non-commutative star product. The deformed oscillator construction was used by Vasiliev in order to construct the higher spin algebras in three spacetime dimensions. We derive an expression for…
A unified method of calculating structure functions from commutation relations of deformed single-mode oscillator algebras is presented. A natural approach to building coherent states associated to deformed algebras is then deduced.
We introduce the most general quartic Poisson algebra generated by a second and a fourth order integral of motion of a 2D superintegrable classical system. We obtain the corresponding quartic (associative) algebra for the quantum analog and we extend Daskaloyannis' construction in obtained in context of quadratic algebras and we obtain the realizations as deformed oscillator algebras for this quartic algebra. We obtain the Casimir operator and discuss how these realizations allow to obtain the finite dimensional unitary irreductible representations of quartic algebras and obtain algebraically …
We describe generally deformed Heisenberg algebras in one dimension. The condition for a generalized Leibniz rule is obtained and solved. We analyze conditions under which deformed quantum-mechanical problems have a Fock-space representation. One solution of these conditions leads to a q-deformed oscillator already studied by Lorek et al., and reduces to the harmonic oscillator only in the infinite-momentum frame. The other solution leads to the Calogero model in ordinary quantum mechanics, but reduces to the harmonic oscillator in the absence of deformation.
The symmetry structure of twodimensional nonlinear isotropic oscillator, introduced in Physica D237 (2008) 505, is discussed. It is shown that it possesses three independent integrals of motion which can be chosen in such a way that they span SU(2), E(2) or SU(1,1) algebras, depending on the value of total energy. They generate the infinitesimal canonical symmetry transformations; integrability of the latter is analyzed. The results are then generalized to the case of arbitrary number of degrees of freedom.
The analytic properties of Nilsson's Modified Oscillator (MO), which was first introduced in nuclear structure, and of the recently introduced, based on quantum algebraic techniques, 3-dimensional q-deformed harmonic oscillator (3-dim q-HO) with Uq(3) > SOq(3) symmetry, which is known to reproduce correctly in terms of only one parameter the magic numbers of alkali clusters up to 1500 (the expected limit of validity for theories based on the filling of electronic shells), are considered. Exact expressions for the total energy of closed shells are determined and compared among them. Furthermore…
