In this paper, we study random sampling on reproducing kernel space $V$, which is a range of an idempotent integral operator. Under certain decay condition on the integral kernel, we show that any element in $V$ can be approximated by an element in a finite-dimensional subspace of $V$. Moreover, we prove with overwhelming probability that random points uniformly distributed over a cube $C$ is stable sample for the set of functions concentrated on $C$
In this note, we describe the backward shift invariant subspaces for a large class of reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces. This class includes in particular de Branges-Rovnyak spaces (the non-extreme case) and the range space of co-analytic Toeplitz operators.
We give two new global and algorithmic constructions of the reproducing kernel Hilbert space associated to a positive definite kernel. We further present ageneral positive definite kernel setting using bilinear forms, and we provide new examples. Our results cover the case of measurable positive definite kernels, and we give applications to both stochastic analysisand metric geometry and provide a number of examples.
We present necessary and sufficient conditions to hold true a Kramer type sampling theorem over semi-inner product reproducing kernel Banach spaces. Under some sampling-type hypotheses over a sequence of functions on these Banach spaces it results necessary that such sequence must be a $X_d$-Riesz basis and a sampling basis for the space. These results are a generalization of some already known sampling theorems over reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces.
A well-known theorem due to R. E. Curto and N. Salinas gives a necessary and sufficient condition for the unitary equivalence of commuting tuples of bounded linear operators acting on reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces. Inspired by this theorem, we obtain a different but equivalent criterion for the unitary equivalence of operators acting on reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces. As an application, we describe the structure of intertwining operator and prove that the decomposition of Cowen-Douglas operators is unique up to unitary equivalence.
This paper considers different facets of the interplay between reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces (RKHS) and stable analysis/synthesis processes: First, we analyze the structure of the reproducing kernel of a RKHS using frames and reproducing pairs. Second, we present a new approach to prove the result that finite redundancy of a continuous frame implies atomic structure of the underlying measure space. Our proof uses the RKHS structure of the range of the analysis operator. This in turn implies that all the attempts to extend the notion of Riesz basis to general measure spaces are fruitless si…
Several upper and lower bounds of the Davis-Wielandt-Berezin radius of bounded linear operators defined on a reproducing kernel Hilbert space are given. Further, an inequality involving the Berezin number and the Davis-Wielandt-Berezin radius for the sum of two bounded linear operators is obtained, namely, if $A $ and $B$ are reproducing kernel Hilbert space operators, then $$η(A+B) \leq η(A)+η(B)+\textbf{ber}(A^*B+B^*A),$$ where $η(\cdot)$ and $\textbf{ber}(\cdot)$ are the Davis-Wielandt-Berezin radius and the Berezin number, respectively.
In this article, we consider the random sampling in the image space $V$ of mixed Lebesgue space $L^{p,q}(\mathbb{R}^{n+1})$ under an idempotent integral operator. We assume some decay and regularity conditions of the kernel and approximate the unit sphere in $V$ on a bounded cube $C_{R,S}$ by a finite-dimensional subspace of $V$. Consequently, the set of concentrated functions is totally bounded. We prove with an overwhelming probability that the random sample set uniformly distributed over $C_{R,S}$ is a stable set of sampling for the set of concentrated functions on $C_{R,S}$. Moreover, we p…

Targeting at sparse multi-task learning, we consider regularization models with an $\ell^1$ penalty on the coefficients of kernel functions. In order to provide a kernel method for this model, we construct a class of vector-valued reproducing kernel Banach spaces with the $\ell^1$ norm. The notion of multi-task admissible kernels is proposed so that the constructed spaces could have desirable properties including the crucial linear representer theorem. Such kernels are related to bounded Lebesgue constants of a kernel interpolation question. We study the Lebesgue constant of multi-task kernels…
The aim of the paper is to create a link between the theory of reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces (RKHS) and the notion of a unitary representation of a group or of a groupoid. More specifically, it is demonstrated on one hand, how to construct a positive definite kernel and an RKHS for a given unitary representation of a group(oid), and on the other hand how to retrieve the unitary representation of a group or a groupoid from a positive definite kernel defined on that group(oid) with the help of the Moore-Aronszajn theorem. The kernel constructed from the group(oid) representation is inspired …
In this paper, we mainly study the random sampling stability for signals in a weighted reproducing kernel subspace of $L_ν^p(\mathbb{R}^d)$ without the additional requirement that the kernel function has symmetry. The sampling set is independently and randomly drawn from a general probability distribution over $\mathbb{R}^d$. Based on the frame characterization of weighted reproducing kernel subspaces, we first approximate the weighted reproducing kernel space by a finite dimensional subspace on any bounded domains. Then, we prove that the random sampling stability holds with high probability …
The techniques developed by Popescu, Muhly-Solel and Good for the study of algebras generated by weighted shifts are applied to generalize results of Sarkar and of Bhattacharjee-Eschmeier-Keshari-Sarkar concerning dilations and invariant subspaces for commuting tuples of operators. In that paper the authors prove Beurling-Lax-Halmos type results for commuting tuples $T=(T_1,\ldots,T_d)$ operators that are contractive and pure; that is $Φ_T(I)\leq I$ and $Φ_T^n(I)\searrow 0$ where $$Φ_T(a)=Σ_i T_iaT_i^*.$$ Here we generalize some of their results to commuting tuples $T$ satisfying similar condi…
For $1 \le t < \infty ,$ a compact subset $K$ of the complex plane $\mathbb C,$ and a finite positive measure $μ$ supported on $K,$ $R^t(K, μ)$ denotes the closure in $L^t (μ)$ of rational functions with poles off $K$. Let $Ω$ be a connected component of the set of analytic bounded point evaluations for $R^t(K, μ)$. In this paper, we examine the behavior of the reproducing kernel of $R^t(K, μ)$ near the boundary $\partial Ω\cap \mathbb T$, assuming that $μ(\partial Ω\cap \mathbb T ) > 0$, where $\mathbb T$ is the unit circle.

The aim of this paper is to present a unified framework in the setting of Hilbert $C^*$-modules for the scalar- and vector-valued reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces and $C^*$-valued reproducing kernel spaces. We investigate conditionally negative definite kernels with values in the $C^*$-algebra of adjointable operators acting on a Hilbert $C^*$-module. In addition, we show that there exists a two-sided connection between positive definite kernels and reproducing kernel Hilbert $C^*$-modules. Furthermore, we explore some conditions under which a function is in the reproducing kernel module and …

Given an uncountable, compact metric space, we show that there exists no reproducing kernel Hilbert space that contains the space of all continuous functions on this compact space.
We show that certain monotone functionals on the Hardy spaces and convex functionals on the Bergman spaces are maximized at the normalized reproducing kernels among the functions of norm $1$, thus proving the contractivity conjecture of Pavlović and of Brevig, Ortega-Cerdà, Seip and Zhao and the Wehrl-type entropy conjecture for the $SU(1,1)$ group of Lieb and Solovej, respectively.
