The like-Lebesgue integral of real-valued measurable functions (abbreviated as \textit{RVM-MI})is the most complete and appropriate integration Theory. Integrals are also defined in abstract spaces since Pettis (1938). In particular, Bochner integrals received much interest with very recent researches. It is very commode to use the \textit{RVM-MI} in constructing Bochner integral in Banach or in locally convex spaces. In this simple not, we prove that the Bochner integral and the \textit{RVM-MI} with respect to a finite measure $m$ are the same on $\mathbb{R}$. Applications of that equality may be useful in weak limits on Banach space.
Suppose $(X,Σ,μ)$ is a finite measure space, $E$ is a Banach lattice, and $B(X,E,μ)$ is the space of all Bochner integrable $E$-valued functions. In this note, we show that $B(X,E,μ)$ is a $KB$-space or has the sequential Fatou property if and only if so is $E$. Among this, some results about Bochner integral convergence in $B(X,E,μ)$, using order structure of $E$, have been proved, as well.

It has been proved in [J.-D. Hardtke, J. Math. Phys. Anal. Geom. 16, no.2, 119--137 (2020)] that a Köthe-Bochner space $E(X)$ is locally octahedral/locally almost square if $X$ has the respective property and the simple functions are dense in $E(X)$. Here we show that the result still holds true without the density assumption. The proof makes use of the Kuratowski-Ryll-Nardzewski Theorem on measurable selections.
We show that the analyticity of semigroups $(T_t)_{t \geq 0}$ of (not necessarily positive) selfadjoint contractive Fourier multipliers on $\mathrm{L}^p$-spaces of any abelian locally compact group is preserved by the tensorisation of the identity operator $\mathrm{Id}_X$ of a Banach space $X$ for a large class of K-convex Banach spaces, answering partially a conjecture of Pisier. The result is even new for semigroups of Fourier multipliers acting on $\mathrm{L}^p(\mathbb{R}^n)$. The proof relies on the use of noncommutative Banach spaces and we give a more general result for semigroups of Fou…
Let $X$ be a Banach space $E$ a Köthe function space that does not contain $c_0$. It is shown that the vector valued function space $E(X)$ has the Near Radon Nikodym property if and only if $X$ does.
The notion of direct integrals introduced by Haydon, Levy and Raynaud in 1991 is a generalisation of the well-known concept of Köthe-Bochner spaces of vector-valued functions (using a family of target spaces instead of just one space). Here we will discuss some classical geometric properties like strict convexity, local uniform convexity and uniform convexity in direct integrals. We will also consider strongly convex and very convex Köthe-Bochner spaces.
We prove martingale-ergodic and ergodic-martingale theorems for vector valued Bochner integrable functions. We obtain dominant and maximal inequalities. We also prove weighted and multiparameter martingale-ergodic and ergodic martingale theorems.
We consider a certain type of geometric properties of Banach spaces, which includes for instance octahedrality, almost squareness, lushness and the Daugavet property. For this type of properties, we obtain a general reduction theorem, which, roughly speaking, states the following: if the property in question is stable under certain finite absolute sums (for example finite $\ell^p$-sums), then it is also stable under the formation of corresponding Köthe-Bochner spaces (for example $L^p$-Bochner spaces). From this general theorem, we obtain as corollaries a number of new results as well as some …
The Bochner integral is a generalization of the Lebesgue integral, for functions taking their values in a Banach space. Therefore, both its mathematical definition and its formalization in the Coq proof assistant are more challenging as we cannot rely on the properties of real numbers. Our contributions include an original formalization of simple functions, Bochner integrability defined by a dependent type, and the construction of the proof of the integrability of measurable functions under mild hypotheses (weak separability). Then, we define the Bochner integral and prove several theorems, in…
Consider a Banach space valued measurable function $f$ and an operator $u$ from the space where {$f$} takes values. If $f $ is Pettis integrable, a classical result due to J. Diestel shows that composing it with $u$ gives a Bochner integrable function $u \circ f$ whenever $u$ is absolutely summing. In a previous work we have shown that a well-known interpolation technique for operator ideals allows to prove under some requirements that a composition of a $p$-Pettis integrable function with a $q$-summing operator provides an $r$-Bochner integrable function. In this paper a new abstract inclusio…
We give a new proof of a recent characterization by Diaz and Mayoral of compactness in the Lebesgue-Bochner spaces $L_X^p$, where $X$ is a Banach space and $1\le p<\infty$, and extend the result to vector-valued Banach function spaces $E_X$, where $E$ is a Banach function space with order continuous norm.
Strong Bochner type integrals with values in locally convex spaces are introduced. It is shown that the strong integral exists in the same cases as the weak (Gelfand-Pettis) integral is known to exist. The strong integral has better continuity properties that the weak integral.
The note shows that the operator-valued Hardy space $\sH^1$ introduced via Littlewood-Paley $g$-function coincides with the space of $H^1_R(\T, \sL^1)$ of all Bochner integrable operator-valued functions with integrable analytic part. The proof is based on the noncommutative maximal inequality for Poisson group.
Let $X$ and $Y$ be Banach spaces and $(Ω,Σ,μ)$ a finite measure space. In this note we introduce the space $L^p[μ;L(X,Y)]$ consisting of all (equivalence classes of) functions $Φ:Ω\mapsto L(X,Y)$ such that $ω\mapsto Φ(ω)x$ is strongly $μ$-measurable for all $x\in X$ and $ω\mapsto Φ(ω)f(ω)$ belongs to $L^1(μ;Y)$ for all $f\in L^{p'}(μ;X)$, $1/p+1/p'=1$. We show that functions in $L^p[μ;Ł(X,Y)]$ define operator-valued measures with bounded $p$-variation and use these spaces to obtain an isometric characterization of the space of all $L(X,Y)$-valued multipliers acting boundedly from $L^p(μ;X)$ in…
Let X be a UMD space with type t and cotype q, and let T be a Fourier multiplier operator with a scalar-valued symbol m. If the Mihlin multiplier estimate holds for all partial derivatives of m up to the order n/max(t,q')+1, then T is bounded on the X-valued Bochner spaces. For scalar-valued multipliers, this improves the theorem of Girardi and Weis (J. Funct. Anal., 2003) who required similar assumptions for derivatives up to the order n/r+1, where r is a Fourier-type of X. However, the present method does not apply to operator-valued multipliers, which are also covered by the Girardi-Weis th…
A "Bochner-type" integral for vector lattice-valued functions with respect to (possibly infinite) vector lattice-valued measures is presented with respect to abstract convergences, satisfying suitable axioms, and some fundamental properties are studied. Moreover, by means of this integral, some convergence results on operators in vector lattice-valued modulars are proved. Some applications are given to moment kernels and to the Brownian motion.
The integral representation of Choquet operators defined on a space C(X) is established by using the Choquet-Bochner integral of a real-valued function with respect to a vector capacity.
Let $E$ be a Banach function space on a probability measure space $(Ω,Σ,μ).$ Let $X$ be a Banach space and $E(X)$ be the associated Köthe-Bochner space. An operator on $E(X)$ is called a multiplication operator if it is given by multiplication by a function in $L^{\infty}(μ).$ In the main result of this paper, we show that an operator $T$ on $E(X)$ is a multiplication operator if and only if $T$ commutes with $L^{\infty}(μ)$ and leaves invariant the cyclic subspaces generated by the constant vector-valued functions in $E(X).$ As a corollary we show that this is equivalent to $T$ satisfying a f…
In this work the problem about an existence of non-measurable automorphisms of Lie groups finite and as well infinite dimensional over the field of real numbers and also over the non-archimedean local fields is investigated. Non-measurability of automorphisms is considered relative to real-valued measures and also measures with values in non-archimedean local fields. Their existence is proved and a procedure for their construction is given. Their application for a construction of non-measurable irreducible unitary representations is demonstrated.
We present a new approach to define a suitable integral for functions with values in quasi-Banach spaces. The integrals of Bochner and Riemann have deficiencies in the non-locally convex setting. The study of an integral for $p$-Banach spaces initiated by Vogt is neither totally satisfactory, since there are quasi-Banach spaces which are $p$-convex for all $0<p<1$, so it is not always possible to choose an optimal $p$ to develop the integration. Our method puts the emphasis on the galb of the space, which permits a precise definition of its convexity. The integration works for all spaces of ga…
In [22], it was proved that as long as the integrand has certain properties, the corresponding Itô integral can be written as a (parameterized) Lebesgue integral (or a Bochner integral). In this paper, we show that such a question can be answered in a more positive and refined way. To do this, we need to characterize the dual of the Banach space of some vector-valued stochastic processes having different integrability with respect to the time variable and the probability measure. The later can be regarded as a variant of the classical Riesz Representation Theorem, and therefore it will be usef…
We collect several open questions in Banach spaces, mostly related to measure theoretic aspects of the theory. The problems are divided into five categories: miscellaneous problems in Banach spaces (non-separable $L^p$ spaces, compactness in Banach spaces, $w^*$-null sequences in dual spaces), measurability in Banach spaces (Baire and Borel $σ$-algebras, measurable selectors), vector integration (Riemann, Pettis and McShane integrals), vector measures (range and associated $L^1$ spaces) and Lebesgue-Bochner spaces (topological and structural properties, scalar convergence).
In this paper, we define the Dunford-Henstock-Kurzweil and the Dunford-McShane integrals of Banach space valued functions defined on a bounded Lebesgue measurable subset of m-dimensional Euclidean space Rm. We will show that the new integrals are "natural" extensions of the McShane and the Henstock-Kurzweil integrals from m-dimensional closed non-degenerate intervals to m-dimensional bounded Lebesgue measurable sets. As applications, we will present full descriptive characterizations of the McShane and Henstock-Kurzweil integrals in terms of our integrals. Moreover, a relationship between new …
We prove modulation invariant embedding bounds from Bochner spaces $L^p(\mathbb{W};X)$ on the Walsh group to outer-$L^p$ spaces on the Walsh extended phase plane. The Banach space $X$ is assumed to be UMD and sufficiently close to a Hilbert space in an interpolative sense. Our embedding bounds imply $L^p$ bounds and sparse domination for the Banach-valued tritile operator, a discrete model of the Banach-valued bilinear Hilbert transform.
We extend the classical Mercer theorem to reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces whose elements are functions from a measurable space $X$into $\mathbb C^n$. Given a finite measure $μ$ on $X$, we represent the reproducing kernel $K$ as convergent series in terms of the eigenfunctions of a suitable compact operator depending on $K$ and $μ$. Our result holds under the mild assumption that $K$ is measurable and the associated Hilbert space is separable. Furthermore, we show that $X$ has a natural second countable topology with respect to which the eigenfunctions are continuous and the series representi…
Let $L$ be an elliptic differential operator with bounded measurable coefficients, acting in Bochner spaces $L^{p}(R^{n};X)$ of $X$-valued functions on $R^n$. We characterize Kato's square root estimates $\|\sqrt{L}u\|_{p} \eqsim \|\nabla u\|_{p}$ and the $H^{\infty}$-functional calculus of $L$ in terms of R-boundedness properties of the resolvent of $L$, when $X$ is a Banach function lattice with the UMD property, or a noncommutative $L^{p}$ space. To do so, we develop various vector-valued analogues of classical objects in Harmonic Analysis, including a maximal function for Bochner spaces. I…
We focus on measurability and integrability for set valued functions in non-necessarily separable Fréchet spaces. We prove some properties concerning the equivalence between different classes of measurable multifunctions. We also provide useful characterizations of Pettis set-valued integrability in the announced framework. Finally, we indicate applications to Volterra integral inclusions.
We study the differential equation $\frac{\partial G}{\partial\bar z}=g$ with an unbounded Banach-valued Bochner measurable function $g$ on the open unit disk $\mathbb D\subset\mathbb C$. We prove that under some conditions on the growth and essential support of $g$ such equation has a bounded solution given by a continuous linear operator. The obtained results are applicable to the Banach-valued corona problem for the algebra of bounded holomorphic functions on $\mathbb D$ with values in a complex commutative unital Banach algebra.
We define a p-norm in the context of quantum random variables, measurable operator-valued functions with respect to a positive operator-valued measure. This norm leads to a operator-valued L^p space that is shown to be complete. Various other norm candidates are considered as well as generalizations of Hölder's inequality to this new context.
The Egoroff theorem for measurable $\bold X$-valued functions and operator-valued measures $\bold m: Σ\to L(\bold X, \bold Y)$, where $Σ$ is a $σ$-algebra of subsets of $T \neq \emptyset$ and $\bold X$, $\bold Y$ are both locally convex spaces, is proved. The measure is supposed to be atomic and the convergence of functions is net.
We prove that the operator norm of every Banach space valued Calderon-Zygmund operator T on the weighted Lebesgue-Bochner space depends linearly on the Muckenhoupt A_2 characteristic of the weight. In parallel with the proof of the real-valued case, the proof is based on pointwise dominating every Banach space valued Calderon-Zygmund operator by a series of positive dyadic shifts. In common with the real-valued case, the pointwise dyadic domination relies on Lerner's local oscillation decomposition formula, which we extend from real-valued functions to Banach space valued functions. The extens…
In this paper we investigate some reflexivity-type properties of separable measurable Banach bundles over a $σ$-finite measure space. Our two main results are the following: - The fibers of a bundle are uniformly convex (with a common modulus of convexity) if and only if the space of its $L^p$-sections is uniformly convex for every $p\in(1,\infty)$. - The fibers of a bundle are reflexive if and only if the space of its $L^p$-sections is reflexive. These results generalise the well-known corresponding ones for Lebesgue-Bochner spaces.
Suppose that T_t is a symmetric diffusion semigroup on L^2(X) and consider its tensor product extension to the Bochner space L^p(X,B), where B belongs to a certain broad class of UMD spaces. We prove a vector-valued version of the Hopf--Dunford--Schwartz ergodic theorem and show that this extends to a maximal theorem for analytic continuations of the semigroup's extension to L^p(X,B). As an application, we show that such continuations exhibit pointwise convergence.
Integral properties of multifunctions determined by vector valued functions are presented. Such multifunctions quite often serve as examples and counterexamples. In particular it can be observed that the properties of being integrable in the sense of Bochner, McShane or Birkhoff can be transferred to the generated multifunction while Henstock integrability does not guarantee it.
The paper gives a Banach space -valued extension of the Tb theorem of Nazarov, Treil and Volberg (2003) concerning the boundedness of singular integral operators with respect to a measure, which only satisfies an upper control on the size of balls. Under the same assumptions as in their result, such operators are shown to be bounded on the Bochner spaces of functions with values in a Banach space with the unconditionality property of martingale differences (UMD). The new proof deals directly with all Lebesgue exponents p in the range 1<p<infinity, and relies on delicate estimates for the non-h…
In this paper, Mikhlin and Marcinkiewicz--Lizorkin type operator-valued multiplier theorems in weighted Lebesgue-Bochner spaces are studied. By using this results embedding theorems in Sobolev-Lions type spaces is obtained. Moreover, maximal regularity properties of abstract elliptic and parabolic equations are derived
We introduce a real-valued measure ${m_L}$ on non-Archimedean ordered fields $(\mathbb{F},<)$ that extend the field of real numbers $(\mathbb{R},<)$. The definition of ${m_L}$ is inspired by the Loeb measures of hyperreal fields in the framework of Robinson's analysis with infinitesimals. The real-valued measure ${m_L}$ turns out to be general enough to obtain a canonical measurable representative in $\mathbb{F}$ for every Lebesgue measurable subset of $\mathbb{R}$, moreover, the measure of the two sets is equal. In addition, $m_L$ it is more expressive than a class of non-Archimedean uniform …
We consider Fourier transform of vector-valued functions on a locally compact group $G$, which take value in a Banach space $X$, and are square-integrable in Bochner sense. If $G$ is a finite group then Fourier transform is a bounded operator. If $G$ is an infinite group then Fourier transform $F: L_2(G,X)\to L_2(\widehat G,X)$ is a bounded operator if and only if Banach space $X$ is isomorphic to a Hilbert one.
In the present paper we investigate $L_0$-valued states and Markov operators on $ C^*$-algebras over $L_0$. In particular, we give representations for $L_0$-valued state and Markov operators on $ C^*$ algebras over $L_0$, respectively, as measurable bundles of states and Markov operators. Moreover, we apply the obtained representations to study certain ergodic properties of $ C^*$-dynamical systems over $L_0$.
A Daniell-Stone type characterization theorem for Aumann integrals of set-valued measurable functions will be proven. It is assumed that the values of these functions are closed convex upper sets, a structure that has been used in some recent developments in set-valued variational analysis and set optimization. It is shown that the Aumann integral of such a function is also a closed convex upper set. The main theorem characterizes the conditions under which a functional that maps from a certain collection of measurable set-valued functions into the set of all closed convex upper sets can be wr…
The spectral theory for weakly stationary processes valued in a separable Hilbert space has known renewed interest in the past decade. Here we follow earlier approaches which fully exploit the normal Hilbert module property of the time domain. The key point is to build the Gramian-Cramér representation as an isomorphic mapping from the modular spectral domain to the modular time domain. We also discuss the general Bochner theorem and provide useful results on the composition and inversion of lag-invariant linear filters. Finally, we derive the Cramér-Karhunen-Loève decomposition and harmonic f…
We prove a version of the Lebesgue Differentiation Theorem for mappings that are defined on a measure space and take values into a metric space, with respect to the differentiation basis induced by a von Neumann lifting. As a consequence, we obtain a lifting theorem for the space of sections of a measurable Banach bundle and a disintegration theorem for vector measures whose target is a Banach space with the Radon-Nikodým property.
