We study the number of irreducible factors (over $\mathbb{Q}$) of the $n$th iterate of a polynomial of the form $f_r(x) = x^2 + r$ for rational $r$. When the number of such factors is bounded independent of $n$, we call $f_r(x)$ \textit{eventually stable} (over $\mathbb{Q}$). Previous work of Hamblen, Jones, and Madhu shows that $f_r$ is eventually stable unless $r$ has the form $1/c$ for some integer $c \not\in \{0,-1\}$, in which case existing methods break down. We study this family, and prove that several conditions on $c$ of various flavors imply that all iterates of $f_{1/c}$ are irreducible. We give an algorithm that checks the latter property for all $c$ up to a large bound $B$ in time polynomial in $\log B$. We find all $c$-values for which the third iterate of $f_{1/c}$ has at least four irreducible factors, and all $c$-values such that $f_{1/c}$ is irreducible but its third iterate has at least three irreducible factors. This last result requires finding all rational points on a genus-2 hyperelliptic curve for which the method of Chabauty and Coleman does not apply; we use the more recent variant known as elliptic Chabauty. Finally, we apply all these results to completely determine the number of irreducible factors of any iterate of $f_{1/c}$, for all $c$ with absolute value at most $10^9$.
For any odd prime $p,$ we construct an infinite family of pairs of imaginary quadratic fields $\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{d}),\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{d+1})$ whose class numbers are both divisible by $p.$ One of our theorems settles Iizuka's conjecture for the case $n=1$ and $p >2.$
We prove results towards classifying the possible torsion subgroups of elliptic curves over quadratic fields $\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{d})$, where $0<d<100$ is a square-free integer, and obtain a complete classification for 49 out of 60 such fields. Over the remaining 11 quadratic fields, we cannot rule out the possibility of the group $\mathbb{Z}/16\mathbb{Z}$ appearing as a torsion group of an elliptic curve.
In this paper, we evaluate explicitly certain quadratic Hecke Gauss sums of $\mathbb{Q}(ω), ω=\exp \left( \frac {2πi}{3}\right)$. As applications, we study the moments of central values of quadratic Hecke $L$-functions of $\mathbb{Q}(ω)$, and establish quantitative non-vanishing result for the $L$-values. We also establish an one level density result for the low-lying zeros of quadratic Hecke $L$-functions of $\mathbb{Q}(ω)$.
We investigate the class number one problem for a parametric family of real quadratic fields of the form $\mathbb{Q}( \sqrt{m^2+4r})$ for certain positive integers $m$ and $r$.
Given an arithmetic function $a: \mathbb{N} \rightarrow \mathbb{R}$, one can associate a naturally defined, doubly infinite family of Jensen polynomials. Recent work of Griffin, Ono, Rolen, and Zagier shows that for certain families of functions $a: \mathbb{N} \rightarrow \mathbb{R}$, the associated Jensen polynomials are eventually hyperbolic (i.e., eventually all of their roots are real). This work proves Chen, Jia, and Wang's conjecture that the partition Jensen polynomials are eventually hyperbolic as a special case. Here, we make this result explicit. Let $N(d)$ be the minimal number such…
We solve unconditionally the class number one problem for the $2$-parameter family of real quadratic fields $\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{d})$ with square-free discriminant $d=(an)^2+4a$ for positive odd integers $a$ and $n$.
We prove that all elliptic curves defined over the cyclotomic $\mathbb{Z}_p$-extension of a real quadratic field are modular under the assumption that the algebraic part of the central value of a twisted $L$-function is a $p$-adic unit. Our result is a generalization of a result of X. Zhang, which is a real quadratic analogue of a result of Thorne.
We determine the minimal number of variables $Γ^*(d, K)$ which guarantees a nontrivial solution for every additive form of degree $d=4$ over the four ramified quadratic extensions $\mathbb{Q}_2(\sqrt{2}), \mathbb{Q}_2(\sqrt{10}), \mathbb{Q}_2(\sqrt{-2}), \mathbb{Q}_2(\sqrt{-10}) $ of $\mathbb{Q}_2$. In all four fields, we prove that $Γ^*(4,K) = 11$. This is the first example of such a computation for a proper extension of $\mathbb{Q}_p$ where the degree is a power of $p$ greater than $p$.
Let $\mathbb{K}$ be an imaginary quadratic field such that $2$ splits into two primes $\mathfrak{p}$ and $\bar{\mathfrak{p}}$. Let $\mathbb{K}_{\infty}$ be the unique $\mathbb{Z}_2$-extension of $\mathbb{K}$ unramified outside $\mathfrak{p}$. Let $\mathfrak{f}$ be an ideal coprime to $\mathfrak{p}$ and $\mathbb{L}$ be an arbitrary extension of $\mathbb{K}$ contained in the ray class field $\mathbb{K}(\mathfrak{p}^2\mathfrak{f})$. Let $\mathbb{L}_{\infty}=\mathbb{K}_{\infty}\mathbb{L}$ and let $\mathbb{M}$ be the maximal $p$-abelian, $\mathfrak{p}$-ramified extension of $\mathbb{L}_{\infty}$. W…
We determine the minimal number of variables $Γ^*(d, K)$ which guarantees a nontrivial solution for every additive form of degree $d=2m$, $m$ odd, $m \ge 3$ over the six ramified quadratic extensions of $\mathbb{Q}_2$. We prove that if $K$ is one of $\{\mathbb{Q}_2(\sqrt{2}), \mathbb{Q}_2(\sqrt{10}), \mathbb{Q}_2(\sqrt{-2}), \mathbb{Q}_2(\sqrt{-10})\}$, $Γ^*(d,K) = \frac{3}{2}d$, and if $K$ is one of $\{\mathbb{Q}_2(\sqrt{-1}), \mathbb{Q}_2(\sqrt{-5})\}$, $Γ^*(d,K) = d+1$. The case $d=6$ was previously known.
We study the forward orbit of the critical point for polynomials of the form $f_c=z^2+c$ defined over $\mathbb{Z}_p$. Hubbard trees capture the dynamical behavior for such maps with finite critical orbit in $\mathbb{C}$. We suggest a notion of Hubbard trees in the non-Archimedean setting, and describe the possible structures that arise for polynomials in $\mathbb{Z}_p$. As an example, we take a closer look at the dynamics of $f_c$ for $c\in\mathbb{Z}_3$.
Let $\mathcal{R}=\mathbb{F}_{p}+u\mathbb{F}_{p}+u^2\mathbb{F}_{p}+u^3\mathbb{F}_{p}$ with $u^4=u$ be a finite non-chain ring, where $p$ is a prime congruent to $1$ modulo $3$. In this paper we study $(1-2u^3)$-constacyclic codes over the ring $\mathcal{R}$, their equivalence to cyclic codes and find their Gray images. To illustrate this, examples of $(1-2u^3)$-constacyclic codes of lengths $2^m$ for $p=7$ and of lengths $3^m$ for $p=19$ are given. We also discuss quadratic residue codes over the ring $\mathcal{R}$ and their extensions. A Gray map from $\mathcal{R}$ to $\mathbb{F}_{p}^4$ is def…
In this paper, we classify, up to three possible exceptions, all monic, post-critically finite quadratic polynomials $f(x)\in \mathbb{Z}[x]$ with an iterate reducible module every prime, but all of whose iterates are irreducible over $\mathbb{Q}$. In particular, we obtain infinitely many new examples of the phenomenon studied in \cite{Jones}. While doing this, we also find, up to three possible exceptions, all integers $a$ such that all iterates of the quadratic polynomial $(x+a)^2-a-1$ are irreducible over $\mathbb{Q}$, which answers a question posed in \cite{AyadMcdonald}, except for three v…
It is well known that if $\mathbb{F}$ is a finite field then $\mathbb{F^{*}}$, the set of non zero elements of $\mathbb{F}$, is a cyclic group. In this paper we will assume $\mathbb{F}=\mathbb{F}_{p}$ (the finite field with p elements, p a prime) and $\mathbb{\mathbb{F}}_{p^{2}}$ is a quadratic extension of $\mathbb{F}_{p}$. In this case, the groups $\mathbb{F}_{p}^{*}$ and $\mathbb{F}_{p^{2}}^{*}$ have orders $p-1$ and $p^{2}-1$ respectively. We will provide necessary and sufficient conditions for an element $u\in\mathbb{F}_{p^{2}}^{*}$ to be a generator. Specifically, we will prove $u$ is a …
Let $\mathcal{A}_n$ be the $2$-part of the ideal class group of the $n$-th layer of the cyclotomic $\mathbb{Z}_2$-extension of a real quadratic number field $F$. The cardinality of $\mathcal{A}_n$ is related to the index of cyclotomic units in the full group of units. We present a method to study the latter index. As an application we show that the sequence of the $\mathcal{A}_n$'s stabilizes for the real fields $F=\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{f})$ for any integer $0<f<10000$. Equivalently Greenberg's conjecture holds for those fields.
Let $k\geq 3$ and $n\geq 3$ be odd integers, and let $m\geq 0$ be any integer. For a prime number $\ell$, we prove that the class number of the imaginary quadratic field $\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{\ell^{2m}-2k^n})$ is either divisible by $n$ or by a specific divisor of $n$. Applying this result, we construct an infinite family of certain tuples of imaginary quadratic fields of the form $$\left(\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{d}), \mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{d+1}), \mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{4d+1}), \mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{2d+4}), \mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{2d+16}), \cdots, \mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{2d+4^t}) \right)$$ with $d\in \mathbb{Z}$ and $1\leq 4^t\leq 2|d|…
In this paper we establish three results on small-height zeros of quadratic polynomials over $\overline{\mathbb Q}$. For a single quadratic form in $N \geq 2$ variables on a subspace of $\overline{\mathbb Q}^N$, we prove an upper bound on the height of a smallest nontrivial zero outside of an algebraic set under the assumption that such a zero exists. For a system of $k$ quadratic forms on an $L$-dimensional subspace of $\overline{\mathbb Q}^N$, $N \geq L \geq \frac{k(k+1)}{2}+1$, we prove existence of a nontrivial simultaneous small-height zero. For a system of one or two inhomogeneous quadra…
In this paper, we study Diophantine exponents $w_n$ and $w_n ^{*}$ for Laurent series over a finite field. Especially, we deal with the case $n=2$, that is, quadratic approximation. We first show that the range of the function $w_2-w_2 ^{*}$ is exactly the closed interval $[0,1]$. Next, we estimate an upper bound of the exponent $w_2$ of continued fractions with low complexity partial quotients.
For a given odd integer $n>1$, we provide some families of imaginary quadratic number fields of the form $\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{x^2-t^n})$ whose ideal class group has a subgroup isomorphic to $\mathbb{Z}/n\mathbb{Z}$.
Well-known results of Lagrange and Jacobi prove that the every $m \in \mathbb N$ can be expressed as a sum of four integer squares, and the number $r(m)$ of such representations can be given by an explicit formula in $m$. In this paper, we prove that the only real quadratic number field for which the sum of four squares is universal is $\mathbb Q(\sqrt{5})$. We provide explicit formulas for $r(m)$ for $K= \mathbb Q (\sqrt{2})$ and $K= \mathbb Q(\sqrt{5})$. We then consider the theta series of the sum of four squares over any real quadratic number field, providing explicit upper and lower bound…
We construct the sequences of Fibonacci and Lucas at any quadratic field $\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{d}\ )$ with $d>0$ square free, noting in general that the properties remain valid as those given by the classical sequences of Fibonacci and Lucas for the case $d = 5$, under the respective variants. For this construction, we use the fundamental unit of $\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{d}\ )$ and then we observe the generalizations for any unit of $\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{d}\ )$ where, under certain conditions, some of this constructions correspond to $k$-Fibonacci sequence for some $k\in \mathbb{N}$. Of course, for both sequ…
Let $a\geq 1$ and $n>1$ be odd integers. For a given prime $p$, we prove under certain conditions that the class groups of imaginary quadratic fields $\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{a^2-4p^n})$ have a subgroup isomorphic to $\mathbb{Z}/n\mathbb{Z}$. We also show that this family of fields has infinitely many members with the property that their class groups have a subgroup isomorphic to $\mathbb{Z}/n\mathbb{Z}$. In addition, we deduce some unconditional results concerning the divisibility of the class numbers of certain imaginary quadratic fields. At the end, we provide some numerical examples to verify our…
Quadratic Gauss sums over $\mathbb{Z}^n/c\mathbb{Z}^n$: explicit formulas, a duality theorem, and applications to Weil representations and cubic hypersurfaces over $\mathbb{F}_p$
本文研究二次Gauss和 over Z^n/cZ^n的显式公式,推导对偶定理,并应用于Weil表示、二次同余方程和立方超曲面的解数计算。
We construct a collection of matrices defined by quadratic residue symbols, termed "quadratic residue matrices", associated to the splitting behavior of prime ideals in a composite of quadratic extensions of $\mathbb{Q}$, and prove a simple criterion characterizing such matrices. We also study the analogous classes of matrices constructed from the cubic and quartic residue symbols for a set of prime ideals of $\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{-3})$ and $\mathbb{Q}(i)$, respectively.
In this paper, we study the moments of central values of Hecke $L$-functions associated with quadratic characters in $\mathbb{Q}(i)$ and $\mathbb{Q}(ω)$ with $ω= exp(2πi/3)$ and establish some quantitative non-vanishing result for these $L$-values.
For a real quadratic field $K= \mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{d})$ with discriminant $D_{K}$ having four distinct prime factors, we study the structure of the $2$-class group $A(K_{1})$ of the first layer $K_{1} = \mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{2},\sqrt{d})$ of the cyclotomic $\mathbb{Z}_{2}$-extension of $K$. With some suitably convenient assumptions on the rank and the order of $A(K_{1})$, we characterize $K$ for which the $2$-class group $A(K)$ is isomorphic to $\mathbb{Z}/2\mathbb{Z} \oplus \mathbb{Z}/2\mathbb{Z}$. We infer that the $2$-ranks of the class groups in each layer stabilizes by virtue of a result of Fukud…
In a previous paper, the author examined the possible torsions of an elliptic curve over the quadratic fields $\mathbb Q(i)$ and $\mathbb Q(\sqrt{-3})$. Although all the possible torsions were found if the elliptic curve has rational coefficients, we were unable to eliminate some possibilities for the torsion if the elliptic curve has coefficients that are not rational. In this note, by finding all the points of two hyperelliptic curves over $\mathbb Q(i)$ and $\mathbb Q(\sqrt{-3})$, we solve this problem completely and thus obtain a classification of all possible torsions of elliptic curves o…
Let $A$ be a real quadratic order of discriminant $p$ or $4p$ with a prime $p$. In this paper we classify all proper totally imaginary quadratic $A$-orders $B$ with index $w(B)=[B^\times: A^\times]>1$. We also calculate numerical invariants of these orders including the class number, the index $w(B)$ and the numbers of local optimal embeddings of these orders into quaternion orders. These numerical invariants are useful for computing the class numbers of totally definite quaternion algebras.
For an odd prime number $p$, we study the number of generators of the unramified Iwasawa modules of the maximal multiple $\mathbb{Z}_p$-extensions over Iwasawa algebra. In a previous paper of the authors, under several assumptions for an imaginary quadratic field, we obtain a necessary and sufficient condition for the Iwasawa module to be cyclic as a module over the Iwasawa algebla. Our main result is to give methods for computation and numerical examples about the results. We remark that our results do not need the assumption that Greenberg's generalized conjecture holds.
We consider the problem of bounding the dimension of Hilbert cubes in a finite field $\mathbb{F_p}$ that does not contain any primitive roots. We show that the dimension of such Hilbert cubes is $O_ε(p^{1/8+ε})$ for any $ε> 0$, matching what can be deduced from the classical Burgess estimate in the special case when the Hilbert cube is an arithmetic progression. We also consider the dual problem of bounding the dimension of multiplicative Hilbert cubes avoiding an interval.
For a square-free integer $t$, Byeon \cite{byeon} proved the existence of infinitely many pairs of quadratic fields $\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{D})$ and $\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{tD})$ with $D > 0$ such that the class numbers of all of them are indivisible by $3$. In the same spirit, we prove that for a given integer $t \geq 1$ with $t \equiv 0 \pmod {4}$, a positive proportion of fundamental discriminants $D > 0$ exist for which the class numbers of both the real quadratic fields $\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{D})$ and $\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{D + t})$ are indivisible by $3$. This also addresses the complement of a weak form of a…
Let $k \geq 1$ be a cube-free integer with $k \equiv 1 \pmod {9}$ and $\gcd(k, 7\cdot 571)=1$. In this paper, we prove the existence of infinitely many triples of imaginary quadratic fields $\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{d})$, $\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{d+1})$ and $\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{d+k^2})$ with $d \in \mathbb{Z}$ such that the class number of each of them is divisible by $3$. This affirmatively answers a weaker version of a conjecture of Iizuka \cite{iizuka-jnt}.
We prove Fermat's Last Theorem over ${\mathbb Q}(\sqrt{5})$ and ${\mathbb Q}(\sqrt{17})$ for prime exponents $p \ge 5$ in certain congruence classes modulo $48$ by using a combination of the modular method and Brauer-Manin obstructions explicitly given by quadratic reciprocity constraints. The reciprocity constraint used to treat the case of ${\mathbb Q}(\sqrt{5})$ is a generalization to a real quadratic base field of the one used by Chen-Siksek. For the case of ${\mathbb Q}(\sqrt{17})$, this is insufficient, and we generalize a reciprocity constraint of Bennett-Chen-Dahmen-Yazdani using Hilbe…
It is shown that, under some mild technical conditions, representations of prime numbers by binary quadratic forms can be computed in polynomial complexity by exploiting Schoof's algorithm, which counts the number of $\mathbb F_q$-points of an elliptic curve over a finite field $\mathbb F_q$. Further, a method is described which computes representations of primes from reduced quadratic forms by means of the integral roots of polynomials over $\mathbb Z$. Lastly, some progress is made on the still-unsettled general problem of deciding which primes are represented by which classes of quadratic f…
Kaplansky conjectured that if two positive-definite real ternary quadratic forms have perfectly identical representations over $\mathbb{Z}$, they are constant multiples of regular forms, or is included in either of two families parametrized by $\mathbb{R}^2$ (so called, hexagonal and rhombohedral families). Our results aim to clarify the limitations imposed to such a pair by computational and theoretical approaches. Firstly, the result of an exhaustive search for such pairs of integral quadratic forms is presented, in order to provide a concrete version of the Kaplansky conjecture. The obtaine…
Let $K$ be a quadratic field which is not an imaginary quadratic field of class number one. We describe an algorithm to compute the primes $p$ for which there exists an elliptic curve over $K$ admitting a $K$-rational $p$-isogeny. This builds on work of David, Larson-Vaintrob, and Momose. Combining this algorithm with work of Bruin-Najman, Özman-Siksek, and most recently Box, we determine the above set of primes for the three quadratic fields $\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{-10})$, $\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{5})$, and $\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{7})$, providing the first such examples after Mazur's 1978 determination for $K =…
For a quadratic endomorphism of the affine line defined over the rationals we consider the problem of bounding the number of rational points that eventually land at a given constant after iteration, called pre-images of the constant. In the article "Uniform Bounds on Pre-Images Under Quadratic Dynamical Systems," it was shown that the number of rational pre-images is bounded as one varies the morphism in a certain one-dimensional family. Explicit values of the constant for pre-images of zero and -1 defined over the rational numbers were addressed in subsequent articles. This article addresses …
In 2016, in the work related to Galois representations, Greenberg conjectured the existence of multi-quadratic $p$-rational number fields of degree $2^{t}$ for any odd prime number $p$ and any integer $t \geq 1$. Using the criteria provided by him to check $p$-rationality for abelian number fields, certain infinite families of quadratic, biquadratic and triquadratic $p$-rational fields have been shown to exist in recent years. In this article, for any integer $k \geq 1$, we build upon the existing work and prove the existence of infinitely many prime numbers $p$ for which the imaginary quadrat…
Let $d \in \{-4, -8, 8\}$. We study the $8$-part of the narrow class group in the thin families of quadratic number fields of the form $\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{dpq})$, where $p\equiv q \equiv 1\bmod 4$ are prime numbers, and we prove new lower bounds for the proportion of narrow class groups in these families that have an element of order $8$. In the course of our proof, we prove a general double-oscillation estimate for the quadratic residue symbol in quadratic number fields.
If $E$ is an elliptic curve with a point of order two, then work of Klagsbrun and Lemke Oliver shows that the distribution of $\dim_{\mathbb{F}_2}\mathrm{Sel}_ϕ(E^d/\mathbb{Q}) - \dim_{\mathbb{F}_2} \mathrm{Sel}_{\hatϕ}(E^{\prime d}/\mathbb{Q})$ within the quadratic twist family tends to the discrete normal distribution $\mathcal{N}(0,\frac{1}{2} \log \log X)$ as $X \rightarrow \infty$. We consider the distribution of $\mathrm{dim}_{\mathbb{F}_2} \mathrm{Sel}_ϕ(E^d/\mathbb{Q})$ within such a quadratic twist family when $\dim_{\mathbb{F}_2} \mathrm{Sel}_ϕ(E^d/\mathbb{Q}) - \dim_{\mathbb{F}_2} \…
Let $X/\mathbb{Q}$ be a curve of genus $g \ge 2$ with Jacobian $J$ and let $\ell$ be a prime of good reduction. Using Selmer varieties, Kim defines a decreasing sequence \[ X(\mathbb{Q}_\ell) \supseteq X(\mathbb{Q}_\ell)_1 \supseteq X(\mathbb{Q}_\ell)_2 \supseteq \cdots \] all containing the rational points of $X$. Thanks to the work of Coleman, the `Chabauty set' $X(\mathbb{Q}_\ell)_1$ is known to be finite provided the Mordell--Weil rank of $J$ is smaller than $g$. In this case one has a practical strategy that often succeeds in computing the set of rational points of $X$. Balakrishnan and D…
Let ${\mathbb K}={\mathbb Q}(\sqrt{m})$ be a real quadratic number field, where $m>1$ is a squarefree integer. Suppose that $0 < θ< π$ has rational cosine, say $\cos (θ)=s/r$ with $0< |s|<r$ and $\gcd(r,s)=1$. A positive integer $n$ is called a $(\mathbb K,θ)$-congruent number if there is a triangle, called the $(\mathbb K,θ, n)$-triangles, with sides in $\mathbb K$ having $θ$ as an angle and $nα_θ$ as area, where ${α_θ}=\sqrt{r^2-s^2}$. Consider the $(\mathbb K,θ)$-congruent number elliptic curve $E_{n,θ}: y^2=x(x+(r+s)n)(x-(r-s)n)$ defined over $\mathbb K$. Denote the squarefree part of posi…
Let $F({\bf x})={\bf x}^tQ_{\bf x}+\mathbf{b}^t{\bf x}+c\in\mathbb{Z}[{\bf x}]$ be a quadratic polynomial in $\ell (\ge 3 )$ variables ${\bf x} =(x_{1},...,x_{\ell})$, where $F({\bf x})$ is positive when ${\bf x}\in\mathbb{R}_{\ge 1}^{\ell}$, $Q\in {\rm M}_{\ell}(\mathbb{Z})$ is an $\ell\times\ell$ matrix and its discriminant $\det\left(Q^t+Q\right)\neq 0$. It gives an explicit asymptotic formula for the following sum \[\sum_{{\bf x}\in [1,X]^{\ell}\cap\mathbb{Z}^{\ell}}τ\left(F({\bf x})\right), \] where $τ$ is the divisor function.
For quadratic forms in $4$ variables defined over the rational function field in one variable over $\mathbb C(\!(t)\!)$, the validity of the local-global principle for isotropy with respect to different sets of discrete valuations is examined.
Let $F({\bf x})={\bf x}^tQ_m{\bf x}+\mathbf{b}^t{\bf x}+c\in\mathbb{Z}[{\bf x}]$ be a quadratic polynomial in $\ell (\ge 3 )$ variables ${\bf x} =(x_{1},...,x_{\ell})$, where $F({\bf x})$ is positive when ${\bf x}\in\mathbb{R}_{\ge 1}^{\ell}$, $Q_m\in {\rm M}_{\ell}(\mathbb{Z})$ is an $\ell\times\ell$ matrix and its discriminant $\det\left(Q_m^t+Q_m\right)\neq 0$. It gives explicit asymptotic formulas for the following sum \[ T_{k,F}(X)=\sum_{{\bf x}\in [1,X]^{\ell}\cap\mathbb{Z}^{\ell}}τ_{k}\left(F({\bf x})\right) \] with the help of the circle method. Here $τ_{k}(n)=\#\{(x_1,x_2,...,x_{k})\i…
