We construct the moduli stack of torsors over the formal punctured disk in characteristic p > 0 for a finite group isomorphic to the semidirect product of a p-group and a tame cyclic group. We prove that the stack is a limit of separated Deligne-Mumford stacks with finite and universally injective transition maps.
Let $X$ be a smooth projective curve over the complex numbers. We compute the Brauer group of the moduli stack of Bruhat-Tits group scheme $\mathcal{G}$-torsors on $X$. When $g(X) \geq 3$ we compute the Brauer group of the regularly stable locus of the coarse moduli space of semi-stable $\mathcal{G}$-torsors.
In this paper we will study the moduli spaces of log Hodge structures introduced by Kato-Usui. This moduli space is a partial compactification of a discrete quotient of a period domain. We treat the following 2 cases: (A) the case where the period domain is Hermitian symmetric, (B) the case where the Hodge structures are of the mirror quintic type. Especially we study a property of the torsor.
We prove an analogue for Stokes torsors of Deligne's skeleton conjecture and deduce from it the representability of the functor of relative Stokes torsors by an affine scheme of finite type over C. This provides, in characteristic 0, a local analogue of the existence of a coarse moduli for skeletons with bounded ramification, due to Deligne. As an application, we use the geometry of this moduli to derive quite strong finiteness results for integrable systems of differential equations in several variables which did not have any analogue in one variable.
This is a continuous work of our previous paper. In the previous work we showed a triviality of the torsors in the case where period domains are Hermitian symmetric and a non-triviality for one-example. In this paper we determine whether the torsors are trivial or not for any period domains for pure Hodge structures. We also show a generalization of a previous result which gives a non-triviality on some open sets connecting to cycle spaces.
Let $X$ be a smooth projective curve over an algebraically closed field $k$. Let $\mathcal{G}$ be a Bruhat-Tits group scheme on $X$ which is generically semi-simple and trivial. We show that the étale fundamental group of the moduli stack $\mathcal{M}_X(\mathcal{G})$ of torsors under $\mathcal{G}$ is isomorphic to that of the moduli stack $\mathcal{M}_X(G)$ of principal $G$-bundles. For any smooth, noetherian and irreducible stack $\mathcal{X}$, we show that an inclusion of an open substack $\mathcal{X}^\circ$, whose complement has codimension at least two, will induce an isomorphism of étale …
Let M be a meromorphic connection with poles along a smooth divisor D in a smooth algebraic variety. Let Sol M be the solution complex of M. We prove that the good formal decomposition locus of M coincides with the locus where the restrictions to D of Sol M and Sol End M are local systems. By contrast to the very different natures of these loci (the first one is defined via algebra, the second one is defined via analysis), the proof of their coincidence is geometric. It relies on the moduli of Stokes torsors.
In this article, a logahoric Higgs torsor is defined as a parahoric torsor with a logarithmic Higgs field. For a connected complex reductive group $G$, we introduce a notion of stability for logahoric $\mathcal{G}_{\boldsymbolθ}$-Higgs torsors on a smooth algebraic curve $X$, where $\mathcal{G}_{\boldsymbolθ}$ is a parahoric group scheme on $X$. In the case when the group $G$ is the general linear group ${\rm GL}_n$, we show that the stability condition of a parahoric torsor is equivalent to the stability of a parabolic bundle. A correspondence between semistable logahoric $\mathcal{G}_{\bolds…
In this article, we investigate an analogue of the global nilpotent cone in the case of the cotangent stack of the moduli stack of parahoric torsors on curves.
Let $X$ be an irreducible smooth projective algebraic curve of genus $g \geq 2$ over the ground field $\bc$ and let $G$ be a semisimple simply connected algebraic group. The aim of this paper is to introduce the notion of semistable and stable parahoric torsors under a certain Bruhat-Tits group scheme $\mathcal G$ and construct the moduli space of semistable parahoric $\mathcal G$--torsors; we also identify the underlying topological space of this moduli space with certain spaces of homomorphisms of Fuchsian groups into a maximal compact subgroup of $G$. The results give a generalization of th…
In this paper we answer two long-standing questions in the classification of $G$-torsors on curves for an almost simple, simply connected algebraic group $G$ over the field of complex numbers. The first question is to give an intrinsic definition of (semi)stability for a $G$-torsor on an {\em irreducible nodal curve} and the second one is the construction of a flat degeneration of the moduli space of semistable $G$-torsors when the smooth curve degenerates to an irreducible nodal curve. A generalization of the classical Bruhat-Tits group schemes to two-dimensional regular local rings and an ap…
We show some of the conjectures of Pappas and Rapoport concerning the moduli stack of $\mathcal{G}$-torsors on a curve C, where $\mathcal{G}$ is a semisimple Bruhat-Tits group scheme on C. In particular we prove the analog of the uniformization theorem of Drinfeld-Simpson in this setting. Furthermore we apply this to compute the connected components of these moduli stacks and to calculate the Picard group of the stack of torsors in case $\mathcal{G}$ is simply connected.
We define a proper moduli stack for degree $p$ covers $f:Y \to \cX$ where $\cX$ is a twisted stable curve in the sense of [5] and [4], and $Y$ is a stable curve which via $f$ is a torsor over $\cX$ under a finite flat group scheme $\cG \to \cX$.
Let ${\mathcal B}_g(r)$ be the moduli space of triples of the form $(X,\, K^{1/2}_X,\, F)$, where $X$ is a compact connected Riemann surface of genus $g$, with $g\, \geq\, 2$, $K^{1/2}_X$ is a theta characteristic on $X$, and $F$ is a stable vector bundle on $X$ of rank $r$ and degree zero. We construct a $T^*{\mathcal B}_g(r)$--torsor ${\mathcal H}_g(r)$ over ${\mathcal B}_g(r)$. This generalizes on the one hand the torsor over the moduli space of stable vector bundles of rank $r$, on a fixed Riemann surface $Y$, given by the moduli space of holomorphic connections on the stable vector bundle…
We introduce frameworks for constructing global derived moduli stacks associated to a broad range of problems, bridging the gap between the concrete and abstract conceptions of derived moduli. Our three approaches are via differential graded Lie algebras, via cosimplicial groups, and via quasi-comonoids, each more general than the last. Explicit examples of derived moduli problems addressed here are finite schemes, polarised projective schemes, torsors, coherent sheaves, and finite group schemes.
Twisting by a G-torsor an object endowed with an action of a group G is a classical tool. For instance one finds in the paragraph 5.3 of the book "cohomologie galoisienne" by Serre, the description of the "opération de torsion" in a particular context. The aim of this note is to give a formalization of this twisting operation as general as possible in the algebraic geometric framework and to present a few applications. We will focus in particular to the application to the problem of specialization of covers addressed by P. Dèbes and al. in a series of papers.
In this note we investigate the problem of existence of a torsor structure for Galois covers of (formal) schemes over a complete discrete valuation ring of residue characteristic $p>0$ in the case of abelian Galois groups of type (p,p,...,p).
We define dilatations of general schemes and study their basic properties. Dilatations of group schemes are -- in favorable cases -- again group schemes, called Néron blowups. We give two applications to their cohomology in degree zero (integral points) and degree one (torsors): we prove a canonical Moy-Prasad isomorphism that identifies the graded pieces in the congruent filtration of $G$ with the graded pieces in its Lie algebra $\mathfrak g$, and we show that many level structures on moduli stacks of $G$-bundles are encoded in torsors under Néron blowups of $G$.
Let $Bun_G(X)$ be the moduli stack of $G$-torsors on a smooth projective curve $X$ for a reductive group $G$. We prove a conjecture made by Drinfeld-Wang and Gaitsgory on the Deligne-Lusztig duality for D-modules on $Bun_G(X)$. This conjecture relates Drinfeld-Gaitsgory's pseudo-identity functors to the enhanced Eisenstein series and geometric constant term functors on $DMod(Bun_G(X))$. We also prove a "second adjointness" result for these enhanced functors.
In this article we prove a local Riemman-Hurwitz formula which compares the dimensions of the spaces of vanishing cycles in a finite Galois cover of type (p,p,...,p) between formal germs of p-adic curves and which generalises the formula proven by the first author in the case of Galois covers of degree p. We also investigate the problem of the existence of a torsor structure for a finite Galois cover of type (p,p,...,p) between p-adic schemes.
We interpret Galois covers in terms of particular monoidal functors, extending the correspondence between torsors and fiber functors. As applications we characterize tame $G$-covers between normal varieties for finite and étale group schemes and we prove that, if $G$ is a finite, flat and finitely presented nonabelian and linearly reductive group scheme over a ring, then the moduli stack of $G$-covers is reducible.
We present a method for compactifying stacks of $\PGL_n$-torsors (Azumaya algebras) on algebraic spaces. In particular, when the ambient space is a smooth projective surface we use our methods to show that various moduli spaces are irreducible and carry natural virtual fundamental classes. We also prove a version of the Skolem-Noether theorem for certain algebra objects in the derived category, which allows us to give an explicit description of the boundary points in our compactified moduli problem.
We prove formal GAGA for good moduli space morphisms under an assumption of "enough vector bundles" (which holds for instance for quotient stacks). This supports the philosophy that though they are non-separated, good moduli space morphisms largely behave like proper morphisms.
Let G be a split semisimple linear algebraic group over a field k0. Let E be a G-torsor over a field extension k of k0. Let h be an algebraic oriented cohomology theory in the sense of Levine-Morel. Consider a twisted form E/B of the variety of Borel subgroups G/B over k. Following the Kostant-Kumar results on equivariant cohomology of flag varieties we establish an isomorphism between the Grothendieck groups of the h-motivic subcategory generated by E/B and the category of finitely generated projective modules of certain Hecke-type algebra H which depends on the root datum of G, on the torsor…
Let $O_D$ be the ring of integers in a division algebra of invariant $1/n$ over a p-adic local field. Drinfeld proved that the moduli problem of special formal $O_D$-modules is representable by Deligne's formal scheme version of the Drinfeld p-adic halfspace. In this paper we exhibit other moduli spaces of formal $p$-divisible groups which are represented by $p$-adic formal schemes whose generic fibers are isomorphic to the Drinfeld p-adic halfspace. We also prove an analogue concerning the Lubin-Tate moduli space.
We provide a construction of the moduli space of stable coherent sheaves in the world of non-archimedean geometry, where we use the notion of Berkovich non-archimedean analytic spaces. The motivation for our construction is Tony Yue Yu's non-archimedean enumerative geometry in Gromov-Witten theory. The construction of the moduli space of stable sheaves using Berkovich analytic spaces will give rise to the non-archimedean version of Donaldson-Thomas invariants. In this paper we give the moduli construction over a non-archimedean field $\kk$. We use the machinery of formal schemes, that is, we d…
We study the local properties of Artin stacks and their good moduli spaces, if they exist. We show that near closed points with linearly reductive stabilizer, Artin stacks formally locally admit good moduli spaces. We also give conditions for when the existence of good moduli spaces can be deduced from the existence of etale charts admitting good moduli spaces.
We define a filtration by open substacks on the non-connective spectral moduli stack of formal oriented groups, which simultaneously encodes and relates the chromatic filtration of spectra and the height stratification of the classical moduli stack of formal groups. Using this open filtration, we express various classical constructions in chromatic homotopy theory, such as chromatic localization, the monochromatic layer, and $K(n)$-localization, in terms of restriction and completion of sheaves in non-connective spectral algebraic geometry.
We introduce a joint project with Cheol-Hyun Cho on the construction of quantum-corrected moduli of Lagrangian immersions. The construction has important applications to mirror symmetry for pair-of-pants decompositions, SYZ and wall-crossing. The key ingredient is Floer-theoretical gluing between local moduli spaces of Lagrangians with different topologies.
This paper presents a survey on formal moduli problems. It starts with an introduction to pointed formal moduli problems and a sketch of proof of a Theorem (independently proven by Lurie and Pridham) which gives a precise mathematical formulation for Drinfeld's derived deformation theory philosophy, which gives a correspondence between formal moduli problems and differential graded Lie algebras. The second part deals with Lurie's general theory of deformation contexts, which we present in a slightly different way than the original paper, emphasising the (more symmetric) notion of Koszul dualit…
We introduce a formalism of descent of moduli spaces, and use it to produce limit linear series moduli spaces for families of curves in which the components of fibers may have monodromy. We then construct a universal stack of limit linear series over the stack of semistable curves of compact type, and produce new results on existence of real curves with few real linear series.
In the relative trace formula approach to the arithmetic Gan-Gross-Prasad conjecture, we formulate a local conjecture (arithmetic transfer) in the case of an exotic smooth formal moduli space of p-divisible groups, associated to a unitary group relative to a ramified quadratic extension of a p-adic field. We prove our conjecture in the case of a unitary group in three variables.
