We establish a quantitative weighted inequality for the bilinear rough singular integral, where the bound is controlled by the cube of the weight constant.
We obtain variational inequalities for some classes of bilinear averages of one variable, generalizing the variational inequalities for averages of R. Jones {\it et al}. As an application we get almost everywhere convergence for the ergodic averages along cubes on a dynamical system.
We obtain sharp small cap decoupling inequalities associated to the moment curve for certain range of exponents $p$. Our method is based on the bilinearization argument due to Bourgain and Bourgain-Demeter. Our result generalizes theirs to all higher dimensions.
The dual purpose of this article is to establish bilinear Poincare-type estimates associated to an approximation of the identity and to explore the connections between bilinear pseudo-differential operators and bilinear potential-type operators. The common underlying theme in both topics is their applications to Leibniz-type rules in Sobolev and Campanato-Morrey spaces under Sobolev scaling.
We extend the theory of weighted norm inequalities on variable Lebesgue spaces to the case of bilinear operators. We introduce a bilinear version of the variable $\A_\pp$ condition, and show that it is necessary and sufficient for the bilinear maximal operator to satisfy a weighted norm inequality. Our work generalizes the linear results of the first author, Fiorenza and Neugebauer \cite{dcu-f-nPreprint2010} in the variable Lebesgue spaces and the bilinear results of Lerner {\em et al.} \cite{MR2483720} in the classical Lebesgue spaces. As an application we prove weighted norm inequalities for…
Muscalu, Pipher, Tao and Thiele \cite{MPTT} showed that the tensor product between two one dimensional paraproducts (also known as bi-parameter paraproduct) satisfies all the expected $L^p$ bounds. In the same paper they showed that the tensor product between two bilinear Hilbert transforms is unbounded in any range. They also raised the question about $L^p$ boundedness of the bilinear Hilbert transform tensor product with a paraproduct. We answer their question by obtaining a wide range of estimates for this hybrid bilinear operator. Our method relies on new vector valued estimates for a fami…
In this paper, we give a characterization of the two weight strong and weak type norm inequalities for the bilinear fractional integrals. Namely, we give the characterization of the following inequalities, \[ \|\mathcal I_α(f_1σ_1, f_2σ_2)\|_{L^q(w)} \le \mathscr N \prod_{i=1}^2\|f_i\|_{L^{p_i}(σ_i)} \] and \[ \|\mathcal I_α(f_1σ_1, f_2σ_2)\|_{L^{q,\infty}(w)} \le \mathscr N_{\textup{weak}} \prod_{i=1}^2\|f_i\|_{L^{p_i}(σ_i)}, \] when $q\ge p_1, p_2>1$ and $p_1+p_2\ge p_1p_2$.
Let $r>\frac{4}{3}$ and let $Ω\in L^{r}(\mathbb{S}^{2n-1})$ have vanishing integral. We show that the bilinear rough singular integral $$T_Ω(f,g)(x)= \textrm{p.v.} \int_{\mathbb{R}^n}\int_{\mathbb{R}^n}\frac{Ω((y,z)/|(y,z)|)}{|(y,z)|^{2n}}f(x-y)g(x-z)\,dydz,$$ satisfies a sparse bound by $(p,p,p)$-averages, where $p$ is bigger than a certain number explicitly related to $r$ and $n$. As a consequence we deduce certain quantitative weighted estimates for bilinear homogeneous singular integrals associated with rough homogeneous kernels.
Let $Ω$ be a collection of disjoint dyadic squares $ω$, let $π_ω$ denote the non-smooth bilinear projection onto $ω$ \[ π_ω(f,g)(x):=\int\int \mathbf{1}_ω(ξ,η) \widehat{f}(ξ) \widehat{g}(η) e^{2πi (ξ+ η) x} d ξdη\] and let $r>2$. We show that the bilinear Rubio de Francia operator \[ \Big(\sum_{ω\inΩ} |π_ω (f,g)|^r \Big)^{1/r} \] is $L^p \times L^q \rightarrow L^s$ bounded with constant independent of $Ω$ whenever $1/p + 1/q = 1/s$, $r'<p,q<r$, $r'/2 < s < r/2$.
We prove weighted estimates for rough bilinear singular integral operators with kernel $$K(y_1, y_2) = \frac{Ω((y_1,y_2)/|(y_1,y_2)|)}{|(y_1, y_2)|^{2d}},$$ where $y_i \in \mathbb{R}^{d}$ and $Ω\in L^{\infty}(S^{2d-1})$ with $\int_{S^{2d-1}}Ωdσ= 0.$ The argument is by sparse domination of rough bilinear operators, via an abstract theorem that is a multilinear generalization of recent work by Conde-Alonso, Culiuc, Di Plinio and Ou. We also use recent results due to Grafakos, He, and Honz\'ık for the application to rough bilinear operators. In particular, since the weighted estimates are proved …
We study $q$-variation inequality for bilinear averaging operators over convex bodies $(G_t)_{t>0}$ defined by \begin{align*} \mathbf{A}_t^G(f_1,f_2)(x) & =\frac{1}{|G_t|}\int_{G_t} f_1(x+y_1)f_2(x+y_2)\, dy_1\, dy_2, \quad x\in \Bbb R^d. \end{align*} where $G_t$ are the dilates of a convex body $G$ in $\Bbb R^{2d}$. We prove that $$\|V_q(\mathbf{A}_t^G(f_1,f_2): t>0) \|_{L^p} \lesssim \|f_1\|_{L^{p_1}} \|f_2\|_{L^{p_2}},$$ for $2<q<\infty$, $1<p_1,p_2\le \infty$, $1/2<p<\infty$ with $1/p=1/p_1+1/p_2$. The target space $L^p$ should be replaced by $L^{p,\infty}$ for $p_1=1$ and/or $p_2=1$, and …
Let $Ω_1,Ω_2$ be functions of homogeneous of degree $0$ and $\vecΩ=(Ω_1,Ω_2)\in L\log L(\mathbb{S}^{n-1})\times L\log L(\mathbb{S}^{n-1})$. In this paper, we investigate the limiting weak-type behavior for bilinear maximal function $M_{\vecΩ}$ and bilinear singular integral $T_{\vecΩ}$ associated with rough kernel $\vecΩ$. For all $f,g\in L^1(\mathbb{R}^n)$, we show that $$\lim_{λ\to 0^+}λ|\big\{ x\in\mathbb{R}^n:M_{\vecΩ}(f_1,f_2)(x)>λ\big\}|^2 = \frac{\|Ω_1Ω_2\|_{L^{1/2}(\mathbb{S}^{n-1})}}{ω_{n-1}^2}\prod\limits_{i=1}^2\| f_i\|_{L^1}$$ and $$\lim_{λ\to 0^+}λ|\big\{ x\in\mathbb{R}^n:| T_{\ve…
We study the rough bilinear singular integral, introduced by Coifman and Meyer , $$ T_Ω(f,g)(x)=p.v. \! \int_{\mathbb R^{n}}\! \int_{\mathbb R^{n}}\! |(y,z)|^{-2n} Ω((y,z)/|(y,z)|)f(x-y)g(x-z) dydz, $$ when $Ω$ is a function in $L^q(\mathbb S^{2n-1})$ with vanishing integral and $2\le q\le \infty$. When $q=\infty$ we obtain boundedness for $T_Ω$ from $L^{p_1}(\mathbb R^n)\times L^{p_2}(\mathbb R^n)$ to $ L^p(\mathbb R^n) $ when $1<p_1, p_2<\infty$ and $1/p=1/p_1+1/p_2$. For $q=2$ we obtain that $T_Ω$ is bounded from $L^{2}(\mathbb R^n)\times L^{ 2}(\mathbb R^n)$ to $ L^1(\mathbb R^n) $. For $q…
We prove bilinear inequalities for differential operators in $\mathbb{R}^2$. Such type inequalities turned out to be useful for anisotropic embedding theorems for overdetermined systems and the limiting order summation exponent. However, here we study the phenomenon in itself. We consider elliptic case, where our analysis is complete, and non-elliptic, where it is not. The latter case is related to Strichartz estimates in a very easy case of two dimensions.
In this paper, we establish some bilinear endpoint estimates of Calderón commutator $\mathcal{C}[\nabla A,f](x)$ with a homogeneous kernel when $Ω\in L\log^+L(\mathbf{S}^{d-1})$. More precisely, we prove that $\mathcal{C}[\nabla A,f]$ maps $L^q(\mathbb{R}^d)\times L^1(\mathbb{R}^d)$ to $L^{r,\infty}(\mathbb{R}^d)$ if $q>d$ which improves previous result essentially. If $q=d$, we show that Calderón commutator maps $L^{d,1}(\mathbb{R}^d)\times L^1(\mathbb{R}^d)$ to $L^{r,\infty}(\mathbb{R}^d)$ which is new even if the kernel is smooth. The novelty in the paper is that we prove a new endpoint est…
A bilinear inequality of Geba, Greenleaf, Iosevich, Palsson, and Sawyer for the Fourier transform is shown to be equivalent to a simpler linear inequality, and the range of exponents is extended. Related mixed-norm inequalities are discussed.
Let $1\le p_0<p,q <q_0\le \infty$. Given a pair of weights $(w,σ)$ and a sparse family $\mathcal S$, we study the two weight inequality for the following bi-sublinear form \[ B(f, g)= \sum_{Q\in\mathcal S}\langle |f|^{p_0}\rangle_Q^{\frac 1{p_0}} \langle|g|^{q_0'}\rangle_Q^{\frac 1{q_0'}}λ_Q\le \mathcal N\|f\|_{L^{p}(w)}\|g\|_{L^{q'}(σ)}. \] When $λ_Q=|Q|$ and $p=q$, Bernicot, Frey and Petermichl showed that $B(f,g)$ dominates $\langle Tf, g\rangle$ for a large class of singular non-kernel operators. We give a characterization for the above inequality and then obtain the mixed $A_p$-$A_\infty$…
We study bilinear rough singular integral operators $\mathcal{L}_Ω$ associated with a function $Ω$ on the sphere $\mathbb{S}^{2n-1}$. In the recent work of Grafakos, He, and Slavíková (Math. Ann. 376: 431-455, 2020), they showed that $\mathcal{L}_Ω$ is bounded from $L^2\times L^2$ to $L^1$, provided that $Ω\in L^q(\mathbb{S}^{2n-1})$ for $4/3<q\le \infty$ with mean value zero. In this paper, we provide a generalization of their result. We actually prove $L^{p_1}\times L^{p_2}\to L^p$ estimates for $\mathcal{L}_Ω$ under the assumption $$Ω\in L^q(\mathbb{S}^{2n-1}) \quad \text{ for }~\max{\Big(\…
In this paper, we systematically study weighted jump and variational inequalities for rough operators. More precisely, we show some weighted jump and variational inequalities for the families $\mathcal T:=\{T_\varepsilon\}_{\varepsilon>0}$ of truncated singular integrals and $\mathcal M_Ω:=\{M_{Ω,t}\}_{t>0}$ of averaging operators with rough kernels, which are defined respectively by $$ T_\varepsilon f(x)=\int_{|y|>\varepsilon}\frac{Ω(y')}{|y|^n}f(x-y)dy$$ and $$M_{Ω,t} f(x)=\frac1{t^n}\int_{|y|<t}Ω(y')f(x-y)dy, $$ where the kernel $Ω$ belongs to $L^q(\mathbf S^{n-1})$ for $q>1$.
In this article we establish new inequalities, both conditional and unconditional, for the restriction problem associated to the hyperbolic, or one-sheeted, hyperboloid in three dimensions, endowed with a Lorentz-invariant measure. These inequalities are unconditional (and optimal) in the bilinear range $q > \frac{10}{3}$.
In this paper, starting with a relatively simple observation that the variational estimates of the commutators of the standard Calderón-Zygmund operators with the BMO functions can be deduced from the weighted variational estimates of the standard Calderón-Zygmund operators themselves, we establish similar variational estimates for the commutators of the BMO functions with rough singular integrals which do not admit any weighted variational estimates. The proof involves many Littlewood-Paley type inequalities with commutators as well as Bony decomposition and related para-product estimates.
In this paper, we systematically study jump and variational inequalities for rough operators, whose research have been initiated by Jones {\it et al}. More precisely, we show some jump and variational inequalities for the families $\mathcal T:=\{T_\varepsilon\}_{\varepsilon>0}$ of truncated singular integrals and $\mathcal M:=\{M_t\}_{t>0}$ of averaging operators with rough kernels, which are defined respectively by $$ T_\varepsilon f(x)=\int_{|y|>\varepsilon}\frac{Ω(y')}{|y|^n}f(x-y)dy $$ and $$M_t f(x)=\frac1{t^n}\int_{|y|<t}Ω(y')f(x-y)dy, $$ where the kernel $Ω$ belongs to $L\log^+\!\!L(\ma…
In this paper we provide weighted estimates for rough operators, including rough homogeneous singular integrals $T_Ω$ with $Ω\in L^\infty(\mathbb{S}^{n-1})$ and the Bochner-Riesz multiplier at the critical index $B_{(n-1)/2}$. More precisely, we prove qualitative and quantitative versions of Coifman-Fefferman type inequalities and their vector-valued extensions, weighted $A_p-A_\infty$ strong and weak type inequalities for $1<p<\infty$, and $A_1-A_\infty$ type weak $(1,1)$ estimates. Moreover, Fefferman-Stein type inequalities are obtained, proving in this way a conjecture raised by the second…
We prove pointwise variational Lp bounds for a bilinear Fourier integral operator in a large but not necessarily sharp range of exponents. This result is a joint strengthening of the corresponding bounds for the classical Carleson operator, the bilinear Hilbert transform, the variation norm Carleson operator, and the bi-Carleson operator. Terry Lyon's rough path theory allows for extension of our result to multilinear estimates. We consider our result a proof of concept for a wider array of similar estimates with possible applications to ordinary differential equations.
In this paper we solve a long standing problem about the multivariable Rubio de Francia extrapolation theorem for the multilinear Muckenhoupt classes $A_{\vec{p}}$, which were extensively studied by Lerner et al. and which are the natural ones for the class of multilinear Calderón-Zygmund operators. Furthermore, we go beyond the classes $A_{\vec{p}}$ and extrapolate within the classes $A_{\vec{p},\vec{r}}$ which appear naturally associated to the weighted norm inequalities for multilinear sparse forms which control fundamental operators such as the bilinear Hilbert transform. We give several a…
The aim of this paper is to show that the discrete maximal function $$\mathcal{M}_{h}f(x)=\sup_{N\in\mathbb{N}}\frac{1}{|\mathbf{N}_{h}\cap[1, N]|}\Big|\sum_{n\in \mathbf{N}_{h}\cap[1, N]}f(x-n)\Big|,\ \ \mbox{for $x\in\mathbb{Z}$},$$ is of weak type $(1, 1)$, where $\mathbf{N}_{h}=\{n\in\mathbb{N}: \exists_{m\in\mathbb{N}}\ n=\lfloor h(m)\rfloor\}$ for an appropriate function $h$. As a consequence we also obtain pointwise ergodic theorem along the set $\mathbf{N}_{h}$.
We give a $L^2\times L^2 \rightarrow L^2$ convolution estimate for singular measures supported on transversal hypersurfaces in $\mathbb{R}^n$, which improves earlier results of Bejenaru, Herr & Tataru as well as Bejenaru & Herr. The arising quantities are relevant in the study of the validity of bilinear estimates for dispersive partial differential equations. We also prove a class of global, nonlinear Brascamp-Lieb inequalities with explicit constants in the same spirit.
We consider bilinear oscillatory integrals, i.e. pseudo-product operators whose symbol involves an oscillating factor. Lebesgue space inequalities are established, which give decay as the oscillation becomes stronger ; this extends the well-known linear theory of oscillatory integral in some directions. The proof relies on a combination of time-frequency analysis of Coifman-Meyer type with stationary and non-stationary phase estimates. As a consequence of this analysis, we obtain Lebesgue estimates for new bilinear multipliers defined by non-smooth symbols.
We demonstrate and develop dyadic-probabilistic methods in connection with non-homogeneous bilinear operators, namely singular integrals and square functions. We develop the full non-homogeneous theory of bilinear singular integrals using a modern point of view. The main result is a new global $Tb$ theorem for Calderón-Zygmund operators in this setting. Our main tools include maximal truncations, adapted Cotlar type inequalities and suppression and big piece methods. While proving our bilinear results we also advance and refine the linear theory of Calderón-Zygmund operators by improving techn…
The main aim of this paper to provide several scales of equivalent conditions for the bilinear Hardy inequalities in the case $1< q, p_1, p_2<\infty$ with $q \geq \max(p_1,p_2)$.
In this paper, the index groups for which the weighted Young's inequalities hold in both continuous case and discrete case are characterized. As applications, the index groups for the product inequalities on modulation spaces are characterized, we also obtain the weakest conditions for the boundedness of bilinear Fourier multipliers on modulation spaces in some sense. For the fractional integral operator, the sharp conditions for the boundedness of power weighted Lp-Lq estimates in both continuous case and discrete case are obtained. By a quite different approach from others, our theorems opti…
Let $Ω$ be homogeneous of degree zero, have mean value zero and integrable on the unit sphere, and $μ_Ω$ be the higher-dimensional Marcinkiewicz integral defined by $$μ_Ω(f)(x)= \Big(\int_0^\infty\Big|\int_{|x-y|\leq t}\frac{Ω(x-y)}{|x-y|^{n-1}}f(y)dy\Big|^2\frac{dt}{t^3}\Big)^{1/2}. $$ In this paper, the authors establish a bilinear sparse domination for $μ_Ω$ under the assumption $Ω\in L^{\infty}(S^{n-1})$. As applications, some quantitative weighted bounds for $μ_Ω$ are obtained.
Let $v,~ω_1, ~ω_2$ be weights and $1<p_1, ~p_2<\infty.$ Suppose that $\frac{1}{p}=\frac{1}{p_1}+\frac{1}{p_2}$ and $(ω_1, ω_2)\in RH(p_1, p_2).$ For the multisublinear maximal operator $\mathfrak{M}$ in martingale spaces, we characterize the weights for which $\mathfrak{M}$ is bounded from $L^{p_1}(ω_1)\times L^{p_2}(ω_2)$ to $L^{p,\infty}(v)\hbox{or}L^p(v).$ If $v=ω_2^{\frac{p}{p_2}}ω_2^{\frac{p}{p_2}},$ we partially give the bilinear version of one-weight theory.
This note introduces bilinear estimates intended as a step towards an $L^\infty$-endpoint Kato-Ponce inequality. In particular, a bilinear version of the classical Gagliardo-Nirenberg interpolation inequalities for a product of functions is proved.
An $A_1-A_\infty$ estimate improving a previous result in arXiv:1607.06432 is obtained. Also new a result in terms of the ${A_\infty}$ constant and the one supremum $A_q-A_\infty^{\exp}$ constant, is proved, providing a counterpart for the result obained in arXiv:1705.08364. Both of the preceding results rely upon a sparse domination in terms of bilinear forms for $[b,T_Ω]$ with $Ω\in L^\infty(\mathbb{S}^{n-1})$ and $b\in BMO$ which is established relying upon techniques from arXiv:1705.07397.
Let $ T_{P } f (x) = \int e ^{i P (y)} K (y) f (x-y) \; dy $, where $ K (y)$ is a smooth Calderón-Zygmund kernel on $ \mathbb R ^{n}$, and $ P$ be a polynomial. We show that there is a sparse bound for the bilinear form $ \langle T_P f, g \rangle$. This in turn easily implies $ A_p $ inequalities. The method of proof is applied in a random discrete setting, yielding the first weighted inequalities for operators defined on sparse sets of integers.
In this paper we provide some quantitative mixed-type estimates assuming conditions that imply that $uv\in A_{\infty}$ for Calderón-Zygmund operators, rough singular integrals and commutators. The main novelty of this paper lies in the fact that we rely upon sparse domination results, pushing an approach to endpoint estimates that was introduced by Domingo-Salazar, Lacey and Rey and extended in works by Lerner, Ombrosi and the second author and Li, Perez, the second author and Roncal.
In this paper, we prove the boundedness of matrix Hausdorff operators and rough Hausdorff operators in the two weighted Herz-type Hardy spaces associated with both power weights and Muckenhoupt weights. By applying the fact that the standard infinite atomic decomposition norm on two weighted Herz-type Hardy spaces is equivalent to the finite atomic norm on some dense subspaces of them, we generalize some previous known results due to Chen et al. [7] and Ruan, Fan [34].
Let $Ω$ be a function of homogeneous of degree zero and vanish on the unit sphere $\mathbb {S}^n$. In this paper, we investigate the limiting weak-type behavior for singular integral operator $T_Ω$ associated with rough kernel $Ω$. We show that, if $Ω\in L\log L(\mathbb S^{n})$, then $\lim_{λ\to0^+}λ|\{x\in\mathbb{R}^n:|T_Ω(f)(x)|>λ\}| = n^{-1}\|Ω\|_{L^1(\mathbb {S}^n)}\|f\|_{L^1(\mathbb{R}^n)},\quad0\le f\in L^1(\mathbb{R}^n).$ Moreover,$(n^{-1}\|Ω\|_{L^1(\mathbb{S}^{n-1})}$ is a lower bound of weak-type norm of $T_Ω$ when $Ω\in L\log L(\mathbb{S}^{n-1})$. Corresponding results for rough bili…
We prove that bilinear forms associated to the rough homogeneous singular integrals $T_Ω$ on $\mathbb R^d$, where the angular part $Ω\in L^q (S^{d-1})$ has vanishing average and $1<q\leq \infty$, and to Bochner-Riesz means at the critical index in $\mathbb R^d$ are dominated by sparse forms involving $(1,p)$ averages. This domination is stronger than the weak-$L^1$ estimates for $T_Ω$ and for Bochner-Riesz means, respectively due to Seeger and Christ. Furthermore, our domination theorems entail as a corollary new sharp quantitative $A_p$-weighted estimates for Bochner-Riesz means and for homog…
We prove that the class of convolution-type kernels satisfying suitable decay conditions of the Fourier transform, appearing in the works of Christ, Christ-Rubio de Francia, and Duoandikoetxea-Rubio de Francia gives rise to maximally truncated singular integrals satisfying a sparse bound by $(1+\varepsilon,1+\varepsilon)$-averages for all $\varepsilon>0$, with linear growth in $\varepsilon^{-1}$. This is an extension of the sparse domination principle by Conde-Alonso, Culiuc, Ou and the first author to maximally truncated singular integrals. Our results cover the rough homogeneous singular int…
