In [LS], it is shown shown that the first eigenvalue of the Laplacian restricted to the space of invariant functions on a toric Kähler manifold (i.e. $λ_1^\mathbb{T}$, the invariant first eigenvalue) is an unbounded function of the toric Kähler metric. In this note we show that, seen as a function on the space of toric Kähler metrics on a fixed toric manifold, $λ_1^\mathbb{T}$ admits no analytic critical points. We also show that on $S^2$, the first eigenvalue of the Laplacian restricted to the space of $S^1$-equivariant functions of any given integer weight admits no critical points.
We study toric nearly Kähler manifolds, extending the work of Moroianu and Nagy. We give a description of the global geometry using multi-moment maps. We then investigate polynomial and radial solutions to the toric nearly Kähler equation.
Conformally Kähler, Einstein-Maxwell metrics and $f$-extremal metrics are generalization of canonical metrics in Kähler geometry. We introduce uniform K-stability for toric Kähler manifolds, and show that uniform K-stability is necessary condition for the existence of $f$-extremal metrics on toric manifolds. Furthermore, we show that uniform K-stability is equivalent to properness of relative K-energy.
Abreu-Sena-Dias have constructed two distinct families of scalar-flat Kähler non-compact toric metrics using Donaldson's rephrasing of Joyce's construction in action-angle coordinates. In this paper and using the same set-up, we show that these are the only J-complete scalar-flat Kähler metrics on any given strictly unbounded toric surface. We also show that the asymptotic behaviour of such a metric determines it uniquely.
An almost Kähler structure is {\it extremal} if the Hermitian scalar curvature is a Killing potential [29]. When the almost complex structure is integrable it coincides with extremal Kähler metric in the sense of Calabi [8]. We observe that the existence of an extremal {\it toric} almost Kähler structure of involutive type implies uniform K-stability and we point out the existence of a formal solution of the Abreu equation for any angle along the invariant divisor. Applying the recent result of Chen--Cheng [10] and He [27], we conclude that the existence of a compatible extremal toric almost K…
We show that 6-dimensional strict nearly Kähler manifolds admitting effective $\mathbb{T}^3$ actions by automorphisms are completely characterized in the neigbourhood of each point by a function on $\mathbb{R}^3$ satisfying a certain Monge-Ampère type equation.
In this short note, we investigate the existence of orbifold Kähler-Einstein metrics on toric varieties. In particular, we show that every $\mathbb{Q}$-factorial normal projective toric variety allows an orbifold Kähler-Einstein metric. Moreover, we characterize the K-stability of $\mathbb{Q}$-factorial toric pairs of Picard number one in terms of the log Cox ring and the universal orbifold cover.
The aim of this paper is to solve a uniform version of the Yau-Tian-Donaldson conjecture for polarized toric manifolds. Also, we show a combinatorial sufficient condition for uniform relative K-polystability.
We classify all scalar-flat toric Kähler 4-manifolds under either of two asymptotic conditions: that the action fields decay slowly (or at all), or that the curvature decay is quadratic; for example we fully classify instantons that have any of the ALE-F-G-H asymptotic types. The momentum functions satisfy a degenerate elliptic equation, and under either asymptotic condition the image of the moment map is closed. Using a recent Liouville theorem for degenerate-elliptic equations, we classify all possibilities for the momentum functions, and from this, all possible metrics.
In this paper we study the gradient steady Kähler-Ricci soliton metrics on non-compact toric manifolds. We show that the orbit space of the free locus of such a manifold carries a natural Hessian structure with a nonnegative Bakry-Émery tensor. We generalize Calabi's classical rigidity result and use this to prove that any complete $\mathbf T^n$-invariant gradient steady Kähler-Ricci soliton with a free torus action must be a flat $(\mathbb C^*)^n$.
We prove a necessary and sufficient condition in terms of the barycenters of a collection of polytopes for existence of coupled Kähler-Einstein metrics on toric Fano manifolds. This confirms the toric case of a coupled version of the Yau-Tian-Donaldson conjecture. We also obtain a necessary and sufficient condition for existence of torus-invariant solutions to a system of soliton type equations on toric Fano manifolds. Some of these solutions provide natural candidates for the large time limits of a certain geometric flow generalizing the Kähler-Ricci flow.
We develop a general theory for the existence of extremal Kähler metrics of Poincaré type in the sense of Auvray, defined on the complement of a toric divisor of a polarized toric variety. In the case when the divisor is smooth, we obtain a list of necessary conditions which must be satisfied for such a metric to exist. Using the explicit methods of Apostolov-Calderbank-Gauduchon together with the computational approach of Sektnan, we show that on a Hirzebruch complex surface the necessary conditions are also sufficient. In particular, on such a complex surface the complement of the infinity s…
Assume that $X$ is a homogeneous toric bundle of the form $G^{\mathbb{C}}\times_{P,τ} F$ and is Fano, where $G$ is a compact semisimple Lie group with complexification $G^\mathbb{C}$, $P$ a parabolic subgroup of $G^\mathbb{C}$, $τ:P\rightarrow (T^m)^\mathbb{C}$ is a surjective homomorphism from $P$ to the algebraic torus $(T^m)^\mathbb{C}$, and $F$ is a compact toric manifold of complex dimension $m$. In this note we show that the normalized Kähler-Ricci flow on $X$ with a $G\times T^m$-invariant initial Kähler form in $c_1(X)$ converges, modulo the algebraic torus action, to a Kähler-Ricci so…
We present a correspondence between real analytic Kähler toric manifolds and dually flat spaces, similar to Delzant correspondence in symplectic geometry. This correspondence gives rise to a lifting procedure: if $f:M\to M'$ is an affine isometric map between dually flat spaces and if $N$ and $N'$ are Kähler toric manifolds associated to $M$ and $M'$, respectively, then there is an equivariant Kähler immersion $N\to N'$. For example, we show that the Veronese and Segre embeddings are lifts of inclusion maps between appropriate statistical manifolds. We also discuss applications to Quantum Mech…
We study the generalized Kähler-Ricci flow with initial data of symplectic type, and show that this condition is preserved. In the case of a Fano background with toric symmetry, we establish global existence of the normalized flow. We derive an extension of Perelman's entropy functional to this setting, which yields convergence of nonsingular solutions at infinity. Furthermore, we derive an extension of Mabuchi's $K$-energy to this setting, which yields weak convergence of the flow.
