In this paper, we generalize some matrix inequalities involving matrix power and Karcher means of positive definite matrices. Among other inequalities, it is shown that if ${\mathbb A}=(A_{1},...,A_{n})$ is a $n$-tuple of positive definite matrices such that $0<m\leq A_{i}\leq M\, (i=1,\cdots,n)$ for some scalars $m< M$ and $ω=(w_{1},\cdots,w_{n})$ is a weight vector with $w_{i}\geq0$ and $\sum_{i=1}^{n}w_{i}=1$, then \begin{align*} Φ^{p}\Big(\sum_{i=1}^{n}w_{i}A_{i}\Big)\leq α^{p}Φ^{p}(P_{t}(ω; {\mathbb A})) \end{align*} and \begin{align*} Φ^{p}\Big(\sum_{i=1}^{n}w_{i}A_{i}\Big)\leq α^{p}Φ^{p}(Λ(ω; {\mathbb A})), \end{align*} where $p>0$, $α=\max\Big\{\frac{(M+m)^{2}}{4Mm}, \frac{(M+m)^{2}}{4^{\frac{2}{p}}Mm}\Big\}$, $Φ$ is a positive unital linear map and $t\in [-1, 1]\backslash \{0\}$.
In this paper, we shall give a concrete relation between the generalized Karcher equation and operator means as its solution. Next, we shall show two types of the Ando-Hiai inequalities for the solution of the generalized Karcher equation. In this discussion, we also give a property of relative operator entropy.
Recently, Pálfia introduced a generalized Karcher mean as a solution of an operator equation. In this article, we present several relations for this new mean. In particular, we investigate the behavior of this generalized mean when filtered through positive linear maps, thus its information monotonicity is revealed, and operator monotone function.
We prove majorization inequalities for different means of positive definite matrices. These include the Cartan mean (the Karcher mean), the log Euclidean mean, the Wasserstein mean and the power mean.
This note aims to present some reverse inequalities about the power means and Karcher mean via the Kantorovich constant and some of these have been generalized to higher power. Also, we generalize the reverse weighted arithmetic-geometric mean inequality of n positive invertible operators due to Lawson and Lim. In addition, we make comparisons between the Karcher mean and Lawson-Lim geometric mean for higher power.
We obtain generalisations of some inequalities for positive unital linear maps on matrix algebra. This also provides several positive semidefinite matrices and we get some old and new inequalities involving the eigenvalues of a Hermitian matrix.
Let $f$ be an operator convex function on $(0,\infty)$, and $Φ$ be a unital positive linear maps on $B(H)$. we give a complementary inequality to Davis-Choi-Jensen's inequality as follows \begin{equation*} f(Φ(A))\geq \frac{4R(A,B)}{(1+R(A,B))^2}Φ(f(A)), \end{equation*} where $R(A, B)=\max\{r(A^{-1}B) ,r(B^{-1}A)\}$ and $r(A)$ is the spectral radius of $A$. We investigate the complementary inequalities related to the operator power means and the Karcher means via unital positive linear maps, and obtain the following result: If $A_{1}$, $A_{2}$,\dots, $A_{n}$, are positive definite operators in…
In this work, generalizations of some inequalities for continuous $h$-synchronous ($h$-asynchronous) functions of linear bounded selfadjoint operators under positive linear maps in Hilbert spaces are proved.
In this paper, we improve and generalize the operator versions of Kantorovich and Wielandt inequalities for positive linear maps on Hilbert space. Our results are more extensive and precise than many previous results due to Fu and He [Linear Multilinear Algebra, doi: 10. 1080/03081087. 2014. 880432.] and Zhang [Banach J. Math. Anal., 9 (2015), no. 1, 166-172.].
We present a Diaz--Metcalf type operator inequality as a reverse Cauchy-Schwarz inequality and then apply it to get the operator versions of Pólya-Szegö's, Greub-Rheinboldt's, Kantorovich's, Shisha-Mond's, Schweitzer's, Cassels' and Klamkin-McLenaghan's inequalities via a unified approach. We also give some operator Grüss type inequalities and an operator Ozeki-Izumino-Mori-Seo type inequality. Several applications are concluded as well.
We extend some inequalities for normal matrices and positive linear maps related to the Russo-Dye theorem. The results cover the case of some positive linear maps on a von Neumann algebra mapping any nonzero operator to an unbounded operator.
We present several matrix and operator inequalities of Hermite-Hadamard type. We first establish a majorization version for monotone convex functions on matrices. We then utilize the Mond-Pecaric method to get an operator version for convex functions. We also present some applications. Finally we obtain an Hermite-Hadamard inequality for operator convex functions, positive linear maps and operators acting on Hilbert spaces.
Let $\mathcal{A}$ and $\mathcal{B}$ be two unital $C^*$-algebras and let for $C\in\mathcal{A},\ Γ_C=\{γ\in \mathbb{C} : \|C-γI\|=\inf_{α\in \mathbb{C}} \|C-αI\|\}$. We prove that if $Φ:\mathcal{A} \longrightarrow \mathcal{B}$ is a unital positive linear map, then \begin{eqnarray*} \big|Φ(AB)-Φ(A)Φ(B)\big| \leq \big\|Φ(|A^*-ζI|^2)\big\|^\frac{1}{2} \big[Φ(|B-ξI|^2)\big]^\frac{1}{2} \end{eqnarray*} for all $A,B\in\mathcal{A}, ζ\in Γ_A$ and $ξ\inΓ_B.$\\ In addition, we show that if $(\mathcal{A},τ)$ is a noncommutative probability space and $T \in \mathcal{A}$ is a density operator, then \begin{e…
Analogues of the classical inequalities from the Brunn-Minkowski theory for rotation intertwining additive maps of convex bodies are developed. Analogues are also proved of inequalities from the dual Brunn-Minkowski theory for intertwining additive maps of star bodies. These inequalities provide generalizations of results for projection and intersection bodies. As a corollary, a new Brunn-Minkowski inequality is obtained for the volume of polar projection bodies.

We improve and generalize some operator inequalities for positive linear maps. It is shown, among other inequalities, that if $0<m\le B\le m'<M'\le A\le M$ or $0<m\le A\le m'<M'\le B\le M$, then for each $2\le p<\infty $ and $ν\in \left[ 0,1 \right]$, \begin{equation*} {{Φ}^{p}}\left( A{{\nabla }_{ν}}B \right)\le {{\left( \frac{K\left( h \right)}{{{4}^{\frac{2}{p}-1}}{{K}^{r}}\left( h' \right)} \right)}^{p}}{{Φ}^{p}}\left( A{{\#}_{ν}}B \right), \end{equation*} and \begin{equation*} {{Φ}^{p}}\left( A{{\nabla }_{ν}}B \right)\le {{\left( \frac{K\left( h \right)}{{{4}^{\frac{2}{p}-1}}{{K}^{r}}\lef…
Let $A,B\in \mathbb{B}(\mathscr{H})$ be such that $0<b_{1}I \leq A \leq a_{1}I$ and $0<b_{2}I \leq B \leq a_{2}I$ for some scalars $0<b_{i}< a_{i},\;\; i=1,2$ and $Φ:\mathbb{B}(\mathscr{H})\rightarrow\mathbb{B}(\mathscr{K})$ be a positive linear map. We show that for any operator mean $σ$ with the representing function $f$, the double inequality $$ ω^{1-α}(Φ(A)#_αΦ(B))\le (ωΦ(A))\nabla_αΦ(B)\leq \fracαμΦ(AσB) $$ holds, where $μ=\frac{a_{1}b_{1}(f(b_{2}a_{1}^{-1})-f(a_{2}b_{1}^{-1}))}{b_{1}b_{2}-a_{1}a_{2}}, $ $ν=\frac{a_{1}a_{2}f(b_{2}a_{1}^{-1})-b_{1}b_{2}f(a_{2}b_{1}^{-1})}{a_{1}a_{2}-b_{1}b…
Employing the notion of operator log-convexity, we study joint concavity$/$ convexity of multivariable operator functions: $(A,B)\mapsto F(A,B)=h\left[ Φ(f(A))\ σ Ψ(g(B))\right]$, where $Φ$ and $Ψ$ are positive linear maps and $σ$ is an operator mean. As applications, we prove jointly concavity$/$convexity of matrix trace functions $\Tr\left\{ F(A,B)\right\}$. Moreover, considering positive multi-linear mappings in $F(A,B)$, our study of the joint concavity$/$ convexity of $(A_1,\cdots,A_k)\mapsto h\left[ Φ(f(A_1),\cdots,f(A_k))\right]$ provides some generalizations and complement to results o…
The purpose of this paper is to present some general inequalities for operator concave functions which include some known inequalities as a particular case. Among other things, we prove that if $A\in \mathcal{B}\left( \mathcal{H} \right)$ is a positive operator such that $mI\le A\le MI$ for some scalars $0<m<M$ and $Φ$ is a normalized positive linear map on $\mathcal{B}\left( \mathcal{H} \right)$, then \[\begin{aligned} {{\left( \frac{M+m}{2\sqrt{Mm}} \right)}^{r}}&\ge {{\left( \frac{\frac{1}{\sqrt{Mm}}Φ\left( A \right)+\sqrt{Mm}Φ\left( {{A}^{-1}} \right)}{2} \right)}^{r}} & \ge \frac{\frac{1}…
We propose a new method for obtaining Poincare-type inequalities on arbitrary convex bodies in R^n. Our technique involves a dual version of Bochner's formula and a certain moment map, and it also applies to some non-convex sets. In particular, we generalize the central limit theorem for convex bodies to a class of non-convex domains, including the unit balls of L_p-spaces in R^n for 0 < p < 1.

A linear map $Φ:\mathbb{M}_n \to \mathbb{M}_k$ is called completely copositive if the resulting matrix $[Φ(A_{j,i})]_{i,j=1}^m$ is positive semidefinite for any integer $m$ and positive semidefinite matrix $[A_{i,j}]_{i,j=1}^m$. In this paper, we present some applications of the completely copositive maps $Φ(X)=(\mathrm{tr} X)I+X$ and $Ψ(X)= (\mathrm{tr} X)I-X$. Some new extensions about traces inequalities of positive semidefinite $3\times 3$ block matrices are included.
We present some operator inequalities for positive linear maps that generalize and improve the derived results in some recent years. For instant, if $A$ and $B$ are positive operators and $m,m^{'},M,M^{'}$ are positive real numbers satisfying either one of the condition $ 0<m \leq B \leq m^{'} <M^{'} \leq A \leq M $ or $0<m \leq A \leq m^{'} <M^{'} \leq B \leq M$, then \begin{align*} Φ^{p} \big(A \nabla _{v} B+2 r Mm (A^{-1}\nabla B^{-1}- &A^{-1} \sharp B^{-1} )\big)\\ & \leq \left( \frac{K(h)}{ 4^{\frac{2}{p}-1} K^{r_{1}} \left( \sqrt {h^{'}}\right)} \right) ^{p} Φ^{p} (A \sharp_ν B) \end{ali…
In this paper, we give some reverse-types of Ando's and Hölder-McCarthy's inequalities for positive linear maps, and positive invertible operators. For our purpose, we use a recently improved Young inequality and its reverse.
In this article we present some new comparisons between the Heinz and Heron operator means, which improve some recent results known from the literature. We derive some refinements of these inequalities for unitarily invariant norms with the help of the contractive maps.
The paper studies Bernstein type inequalities for restrictions of holomorphic polynomials to graphs $Γ_f\subset\mathbb C^{n+m}$ of holomorphic maps $f:\mathbb C^n\rightarrow\mathbb C^m$. We establish general properties of exponents in such inequalities and describe some classes of graphs admitting Bernstein type inequalities of optimal exponents and of exponents of polynomial growth.
We present some generalizations of quantum information inequalities involving tracial positive linear maps between $C^*$-algebras. Among several results, we establish a noncommutative Heisenberg uncertainty relation. More precisely, we show that if $Φ: \mathcal{A} \to \mathcal{B}$ is a tracial positive linear map between $C^*$-algebras , $ρ\in \mathcal{A}$ is a $Φ$-density element and $A,B$ are self-adjoint operators of $\mathcal{A}$ such that $ {\rm sp}(\mbox{-i}ρ^\frac{1}{2}[A,B]ρ^\frac{1}{2}) \subseteq [m,M] $ for some scalers $0<m<M$, then under some conditions \begin{eqnarray}\label{inema…
New sharp multiplicative reverses of the operator means inequalities are presented, with a simple discussion of squaring an operator inequality. As a direct consequence, we extend the operator Pólya-Szegö inequality to arbitrary operator means. Furthermore, we obtain some new lower and upper bounds for the Tsallis relative operator entropy, operator monotone functions and positive linear maps.
We prove an identity for sesquilinear maps from the Cartesian square of a vector space to a geometric mean closed Archimedean (real or complex) vector lattice, from which the Cauchy-Schwarz inequality follows. A reformulation of this result for sesquilinear maps with a geometric mean closed semiprime Archimedean (real or complex) $f$-algebra as codomain is also given. In addition, a sufficient and necessary condition for equality is presented. We also prove the Hölder inequality for weighted geometric mean closed Archimedean (real or complex) $Φ$-algebras, improving results by Boulabiar and To…
Let $ϕ$ be a linear map from the $n\times n$ matrices ${\mathcal M}_n$ to the $m\times m$ matrices ${\mathcal M}_m$. It is known that $ϕ$ is $2$-positive if and only if for all $K\in {\mathcal M}_n$ and all strictly positive $X\in {\mathcal M}_n$, $ϕ(K^*X^{-1}K) \geq ϕ(K)^*ϕ(X)^{-1}ϕ(K)$. This inequality is not generally true if $ϕ$ is merely a Schwarz map. We show that the corresponding tracial inequality ${\rm Tr}[ϕ(K^*X^{-1}K)] \geq {\rm Tr}[ϕ(K)^*ϕ(X)^{-1}ϕ(K)]$ holds for a wider class of positive maps that is specified here. We also comment on the connections of this inequality with vario…
For a positive linear map F and a normal matrix N, we show that |F(N)| is bounded by some simple linear combinations in the unitary orbit of F(|N|). Several elegant sharp inequalities are derived, especially for the Schur product.
Several matrix/operator inequalies are given. Most of them are unexpected extensions of the Araki Log-majorization theorem, obtained thanks to a new log-majorization for positive linear maps and normal operators (Theorem 2.9). The main idea and technical tool is a two variables log-convex norm functional (Theorem 1.2).
Jensen inequalities for positive linear maps of Choi and Hansen-Pedersen type are established for a large class of operator/matrix means. These results are also extensions of the Minkowski determinantal inequality. To this end we develop the study of anti-norms, a notion parallel to the symmetric norms in matrix analysis, including functionals like Schatten q-norms for a parameter q<1 and the Minkowski functional. An interpolation theorem for the Schur multiplication is given in this setting. Two sections have been added to the previous version, devoted to means of severable variables and anti…
In this paper, we aim to replace in the definitions of covariance and correlation the usual trace {\rm Tr} by a tracial positive map between unital $C^*$-algebras and to replace the functions $x^α$ and $x^{1-α}$ by functions $f$ and $g$ satisfying some mild conditions. These allow us to define the generalized covariance, the generalized variance, the generalized correlation and the generalized Wigner--Yanase--Dyson skew information related to the tracial positive maps and functions $f$ and $g$. We persent a generalization of Heisenberg's uncertainty relation in the noncommutative framework. We…
Given commuting families of Hermitian matrices {A1, ..., Ak} and {B1, ...., Bk}, conditions for the existence of a completely positive map L, such that L(Aj) = Bj for j = 1, ...,k, are studied. Additional properties such as unital or / and trace preserving on the map ? are also considered. Connections of the study to dilation theory, matrix inequalities, unitary orbits, and quantum information science are mentioned.
